This professor does not understand that students have lives too. He assigns tons of homework every week then expects it to be e-mailed to him by a deadline. Exams could be easier. Takes attendance at the start of class and doesn't give any breaks even for a 3+ hr class. Not an enjoyable experience.

Seems to lack enthusiasm in teaching and comes off as somewhat being bored and uninterested if you learn anything from him.

A very hard grader, he is never satisfy with student's work and homeworks, all he does is talk, and talk, and talk until the students fall asleep, he doesnt even ask if students are understanding the topic.

this guy will literally give you nightmares at night. He is the worst, not to mention very inconsiderate,i came to every class and i tried my best with the test, but still managed to fail me...it was definite fail, taking this class.

worst professor in LAGCC. no matter how hard you try you wont be able to get A. He assigned more than 50 homeworks and even after doing it i still was unable to get an A. no need to learn from book because when you see the quiz you wont see a single question from book. he is just like taking revenge from students of being failure in his career.

he is the WORST prof you could ever ask for. never worked so hard just to get a B.his grade was the reason my gpa dropped.very strict grader and expects you to schedule your life around his class. quizzes on sunday from 7-8pm no ecxcuses. and class would ALWAYS end later than scheduled. professors at 4 yr colleges don't even act like that.

I didn't enjoy how he approached students, very sarcastic, can be a bit condescending and expects daily participation. He embarrassed a few students, which I thought was unnecessary. Never satisfied with a students answer, but he will basically repeat what you said. Weekly papers and reading assignments. However, doable and a fair grader.

I just started taking this class, mind you I am a hard worker. I go back and forth between college and work, and am still dedicated to my education. However, the fact that points get taken off for not stapling papers is appalling. "Tell your friends you don't have time, because you're taking my class" Bruh just because you don't have a life outside

He needs to keep in mind his students have classes aside from his own. Watch the workload, students struggle to balance both work and class time to the best of their ability. Geez,be fair, not petty. I just finished his course. Do not take his class. He is horrible. There are no revisions or fees back on assignments. He expect you to memorize the material form start to finish. Also grading style is cummalative. Save your GPA.

He does not have any respect for his female students as well as never explains whats going to be on his exams and then when you dont do good he blames on you, he also likes to spring 5pg essays on you to do on the weekend and to be submitted by Sunday. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS OR YOU WILL FAIL

He should look into another field because as a professor he lacks patience and understanding. he gives you a workload of readings even in-between days when you're off from class as if you don't work or have other classes. weekend essays are expected as well. I'd recommend this class if its the ONLY class you'll be taking all semester and if no job

Had him at BMCC. Do NOT TAKE HIM. HE RUINED MY GPA! He is very RUDE and incodsiderate and wants everything done his way or no way. Hes a 60yo man baby. He is by far the worst Professor that I had in my school. for a minor subject he acted like his class was major for no reason. He messed up my GPA so bad.

He isnt clear on his instructions with test not to mention that his lectures are three hours with no breaks I asked about study material for the exam he doesnt have any and none of what he talks about for the duration is on the exam please run away from this course

The worst professor i have ever taken in my life, if you can avoid him do so. He is not understanding whatsoever. Teaching skills extremely poor. Technologically inept. Does not do extensions. Professor Townsend makes everything super difficult. He is the professor that will tell you "well what does the syllbus say?". In lecture he asks the same questions dozens of times and is searching for "specific" answers. He will take off ridiculous points off your paper for simply not having the same opionion as his. There is no room for error.

If you give him a answer for question based of a theory an it not what he what wants to hear.... he makes you feel that your dumb an the answer is wrong.... then another student will say the exact same thing. An for some reason their answer is correct

tough grader. Had a short session with him so he didnt allow for any makeup work. Final exam was timed, with 50 questions including an essay question. Makes you do a group project. Calls on you and puts you on the spot. Make sure you pass your midterm and final. It saved me and gave me a B for his class.

Awful at explaining things. Review questions (which are confusingly written) for assigned readings/videos often not answered by the material. Will spend 15 minutes waiting for an answer to a question if it's not answered EXACTLY as he wants. Gave extra directions for an assignment AFTER it was due. Most frustrating professor I've had. DO NOT TAKE!

Tough class tough professor

He is a very capable professor yet he comes to class with a me against the world mentality which makes the class a bit of a mystery and not in a good way. He is aggressive in his approach to everything. We had a group assignment and one student was missing and even though we reached out to her often, he blamed the group for her absence.

Don't take him - #1 - in session 2 you will get a group project right before the midterm. Doesn't make sense. #2 He will not help you. He will give you office hours but will tell you to "go to Blackboard" if you want to know about your grade. #3 - Will not tell you what to study for midterm or final. Is not clear on instructions.

CHATTIN!!!! I cannot stress enough how he just stays chattin. It is so painful to sit through the lectures, he doesn't know how to ask questions properly so it leaves everyone confused. He's kinda rude when he doesn't get the answers that he wants/fast enough. DO NOT TAKE HIM

This professor is not only rude but it is hilarious how this person is still a professor or even questionable how no one has reported this professor's behavior to anyone higher up. Unfortunately my family gotten a health accident during this class and I could not show up for a week due to aiding my family in the hospital and this professor will not care. Some classmates speculate that this professor would not care if there was an accident unless he's seen it for himself.

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. SWAP OR DROP IF YOU CAN! In all my experiences of LaGaurdia Community College I never had any professor so rude and disrespectful. Not only rude but as well as to raise his voice when he is wrong. He gives homework back to back, but the exams are 50%. The exams are browser locked, monitored, and essays/short response

His lectures are a mess. Treats an entry level course like advanced. Nothing on his study guide was on the exams. My GPA tanked from this one class. Currently now at a 3.63

Please if you have a chance switch classes. Please listen to me and do it. I am very surprised that the school is keeping him as a professor. His behavior against the students is unprofessional. He yells, complains, contradicts himself, and always makes you feel like you are beneath him. The exams are ridiculous and he lacks empathy for everyone

The professor has constantly shut down my ideas and questions I've asked. And continously told me I was wrong. I have taken the class for fun to see if I enjoy this subject because my son took interest in it. I am also a doctor like Dr. Townsend who seems to have no respect for others.

Had to drop this class to save my GPA because I do not really like this professor that much. His lectures seem boring but he's a pain to deal with (no offense) but please avoid that class at all costs. Also it can kill your GPA. Besides the negative things said here, he is somewhat hilarious (sometimes the jokes can be awkward)

Very disrespectful, not sympathetic, I tried to inform him of a email in regards my absence because I was injured. He gave me a nasty attitude saying “what do you want me to do about that?”. All I asked him was to check, he's also inconsiderate and ageist. Pretentious just because of his educational background. Consider hiring a better professor.
