Best physics prof ive had
He helped me get my badass summer internship at FERMI LAB. A prodigy, indeed
Funny as Hell
Funny Has more enthusiasm then a student at a kegger.
good teaching method...

he his toooo smart for his own health
Riddle gets their money's worth out of him and so do the students
you failed, but its a strong failure
the funniest frenchman i know and also the smartest
Bon Bons For Everyone... Best Physics Teacher Here, Rock On Vuille
difficult, but fun. so this weekend i got bored, so i created a new math
No Comments
hes pretty easy once you know what hes lookin for, but very cocky
sticks of charge, bon bons, his hatred of the text, and the wastebasketball :)
Rock on Charlie Brown
Astounding Prof, helped me get an internship at FermiLab. Engenius master.
Great prof. Funny too, do your hw, ask for SAMPLE TESTS. they make the REAL test a breeze. Go Swim Club!
Good prof, very bright, not as good at getting the facts from his brain to the students', especially at the PS103 level. Unnerving with his mental math. Makes bizarre, grandiose claims about own accomplishments, but is entirely entertaining.
He says not to read the book. READ THE BOOK! Forget whatever he says. Just do the work and read the book. He's funny, and gives lots of chances to beef up your grade.
Read the book (no matter what he says), write neatly on exams...

awesome teacher, learned the most from him. difficult to follow him if you don't keep track in the book.
Interesting, intelligent and humorous with a bit of eccentricity. I loved the physics song he played on the guitar for us. Vweeeeee!!!
Funny guy, a bit strange but that's always good in a professor. Has trouble getting his thoughts out of his head and onto the board. "Misfiring neurons." You could do much worse (see: Aggarwal, Shiv.)
Fantastic, I loved Physics 3 with him -- both times. That should tell you enough. Strong failure.
I had him for physics 1&2. He is probably the smartest man at riddle but he has a lot on his plate and can't always give the class as much time as he should. If you want to be amazed by a genius then take him.
Best physics prof by far. No boring derivations- does examples in class and tells you exactly what is on the test. Homework is graded if you got an answer, not the right answer. Makes physics intersting with his off the wall comments. Take him!
Great teacher, I wish all my teachers were this much fun.
awesome teacher if youve had calc before, otherwise beware! hes a little A.D.D. at times, but is really funny and helpful if you ask. take him for any course you can!!
Best physics teacher at Riddle. He is amazing with math, funny, and knows his stuff. Doesnt teach right out of the book like most of the other physics prof. so its worth it to come to class.
This guy is awesome, goes on tangents all the time that have nothing to do with physics at all. He is very smart and knows what he's talkin about. Has a great way of teaching, and he's very laid back.
Teaches students how to pass his tests, that's about it. Not a good undergrad teacher; great physicist. Assumes everyone just wants to pass the course, so why bother teaching. Very funny if you're not trying to actually learn (hard to concentrate). Take him if you want to take tests for a living.
The guy is funny and very laid back, I must admit, but he should not be teaching undergrad. He thinks since we are "EP students" that we know it all already. Hw- nothing covered in class and you teach yourself. class, most of the time we are all lost by him just doing and not explaining anything.
this guy should be running NASA. he is almost too funny and teaches a great class
he does examples but he doesn't do all the steps and his hand wrighting is bad. It is hard to have any idea what he is doing. He spends a lot of time off subject. on par with moska but less homework. good guy though. I just would want someone more organized and who does more, clear examples.
very awesome guy if you are NOT looking for an education in his class. I had a 98 in his class and when i took the final, which is mostly prepared by mosca, I ended up with a D. He doesn't prepare you for the final or anything out of his class.
Awesome guy, great teachre.

Very intelligent individual. He babbles in class about his publishing job and scribbles all over the board. Extremely hard to follow him. I had an A in AP Physics in high school. Now I'm fighting for a C. Makes things insanely complicated. Do not take his class.
take vuille!!!!!!!!
Vuille, is actually a pritty cool guy he loves to tell crazy stories and jokes; he tries his best to get you to understand, honestly I think he's one of the best PHYSICS teachers they have as far as I've heard. you'll have a pritty good chance of passing his class if you get in as long as you practice from his examples which are pritty good.
Vuille's one of the best, he tries his best 2 get u to pass; before I our final he asked us if we wanted extra credit work, its kind of strange but most of the class didnt want it guess because of coming back from a thanksgiving break, he said OK no extra credit I'll just figure out someway to give you guys extra credit while grading your papers
Absouletly horrible teacher, very unclear in his explanations and lectures. Rambles on and talks to himself a lot too. Pretty bad when the class avg is a 56.
Nice guy though his test are very hard. The class average was 57%, need I say more?
A very good professor, I wish he assigned homework though.
Excellent physics professor
The most intelligent prof I have met. He wrote the physics book you're all going to be using from now on. Not always very clear, but he's a physics teacher, not a humanities one. Study and ask questions if you need to, tests are hard but straight forward. Curves everything at the end and tries to help you score high on the common final.
Great Teacher, Knows the material like no other. Will answer any questions and has good examples. Tests are hard, but right from examples. Class average is low, but he curves whole grade at end to make up for it. Overall excellent.
Love him! Love him! Love him! No homework. Just tests and quizzes. Go to class, take notes, and study the night or two before quizzes and exams. You will be fine. Just put a little study time in and go to class. I had him for Physics 2 and 3. Made A's in both. He made me into a good Physics student. (He curves like crazy, too.)
Let me explain something...i hate physics. I mean I HATE physics. Vuille is the man: no textbook required, never any hw, quizzes and tests are always easier than review sessions. goofy dude. sometimes confusing but will always clairify if asked. i went to class maybe 8 times all symester and was one point from a B. What do you think
greatest physics professor ever! i can't understand physics and hate it w/ a passion. this guy is hilarious and makes everything really easy to understand. there's a few tiny hw assignments, and class examples are the hw, and test q's. IF U SUCK AT PHYSICS, TAKE THIS GUY!!!
This guy is very straight forward, will clarify anything, and actually makes class somewhat interesting. The first thing he tells you on the first day of class is DO NOT BUY THE BOOK!!! Tells you everything that is on the test the day before.
This class was actually easier than calc for me and I hate math. Vuille is simply awesome. At first I was like 'wtf', but its not that bad. I completely failed the final, but managed a B. His curve is amazing. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN! Oh, and don't buy that rip off book he wrote. We didn't use it once!
This guy is the best physics teacher i have ever had, i transfered to a different school and this guy a) knows the material and b) can make it easy to understand. His tests, test you on what you should have learned not on how hard he can make it. Great professor, 2 years later still wish i had him at this school.
if u suck at physics, he'll definately help you! my second semester with vuille, and i can't say enuf about him. he is the single greatest physics teacher on campus!
Excellent teacher!! He does not give homework but does give about 3 quizzes before a test. This definitely works the best for this class. As long as you don't skip class and take good notes you will do really well in his class. He is an extremely fair grader. Vuille is the man!!
The class is hard. As he says it, you will have a 'strong fail' which means a D is considered good. The tests and quizzes are really hard, he says that the questions are from the notes, but most of the time no. He drops your lowest grades and he curves so i guess he is the best teacher for physics
Strong curve for final grade. Excellent skills when teaching physics.
Vuille's class is hard. He skips a lot of steps and does crazy calculations in his head to get to an answer which leaves you confused on how he got it. If you score 50% on his tests he'll pass you. Do well on the first two tests because the last test will****you. Try to get 100's on all the homeworks because it'll majorly help your final grade.
2 ways to score in his class. Pay attention during lessons and work hard in your spare time. Extremely helpful if you bother to consult him during office hours.
He'd rather talk about the text book he's writing and everything that's wrong with the world and than teach the class. When he does decide to teach, there is no doubt the guy is smart, but he can't explain anything well. If you ask him for help he'll just tell you to look it over on your own. Curves nicely at the end, but not worth it.
Great professor, no one beats him
Awesome teacher he is very helpful and sees the inner student and tries everything to bring out the best in you to help you pass. Has great examples even though sometimes he skips steps cause your already supposed to know but more than willing to go back and explain if your confused. The best physics professor I have seen yet. Take if possible.
Awesome teacher he is very helpful always there to help you pass. Has great examples even though sometimes he skips steps cause your already supposed to know but more than willing to go back and explain if your confused. The best physics professor I have seen yet. Take if possible. Takes time to help to
He wrote his own textbook so you don't have to buy one. If you just memorize the formulas, his quizzes and tests are easy. Drops the lowest homework, quiz and test. If you don't try, you'll fail. Good guy and wants the best. Wicked smart.
I highly don't recommend anyone taking him unless you have previous experience with Physics and you are taking Calculus 2 or 3. He teaches a lot of things like it is a review, so it is a very hard course if you are a freshman. He expects you to spend 2 hours a day to study Physics. Also, don't take Calculus with Physics. Bad combo.
Extremely difficult class. Hes the best of the ones that teach it but not very good. Does examples on the board before going over the equations so its easy to get lost. He gives out optional worksheets that have the same questions that are one the tests. Very helpful at office hours. Test averages are close to 60%. Learn the basics before taking!
His tells you ever problem about the test before the test! VERY HELPFUL! You can approach him anytime and ask a question. One time I saw him at Starbucks and he helped me with the homework he had just assigned!
Absolutely the worst teacher ever! I took him because he scored 3.9 here...BAD IDEA. He is not helpful, he gives quizzes almost every class, and 4-5 hour tests that have impossible questions. He doesnt teach out of our textbook because he says its an abomination to American society. I might lose my scholarship and have to leave because of him...
He's a decent physics teacher. If physics/ math comes in any way naturally to you, take him. If you do the work and go to his office hours you will learn a lot. If you want an easy A, don't take him. His tests are hard. His motto is 'practice harder problems so the test seems easy'. The method works but the homework sucks! You must want to learn.
Avoid taking this teacher. He's extremely difficult and makes things harder then they need to be. He writes a lot of equations on the board without really explaining them. He moves on to the next topic even when the whole class is confused. 5 out of 30 people passed with a C or higher in my class. Choose another professor!
I feel that the professor genuinely wants to see his students succeed. Every question you see on the test, you will have seen on homework. He kept telling us to "memorize the equations, practice the example problems, then tackle homework". If you do those 3 things, you will do just fine in the class! However, there is a good amount of homework.
His class isn't the easiest but it wasn't the hardest class I've taken. I ended up getting a B but that was through hard work on the homework and tests. His tests are on the harder side; the average test grades are usually in the 60-70 range. He is pretty funny and he loves motivating his students. If you aren't failing the class, you'll enjoy it.
He is a hard teacher and he really doesn't teach things to well. he will often get carried away on some random story and forget to teach all the material. I would say that he does care about our class and he defiantly is motivational. His tests are really hard be prepared to fail them. I love him as a person not much as a teacher.
AWFUL. He would write stuff on the board and then not explain anything and talk about how the non-physics students were going to change the world with physics. Be prepared to fail the class or go to another professor's office hours. He made up a midterm in the middle of the semester and the class average was below a 50%.
This guy is by far one of the worst physics professors for this class. All he does in class is talk about his life stories and goes over the examples like he's talking to another physics professor. Be prepared to basically learn the stuff yourself cause he does not go over it well at all. He puts almost nothing on tests that we went over in class.
Boring lectures but really nice guy. He wants the students to succeed but cannot relate to them. Not really accessible in office hours but the best way to pass this class is to use the study materials he will post online.
Horrible professor. Never was able to bring his level of expertise down to a student level. Examples were close to none essentially causing us to learn the whole course on our own. Pleasd help yourself by not signing up for his classes. Really lacks the intent to want to help students.
Took his class for physics minor. Obviously very passionate and loves what he does. His lectures can be hard to follow, but if you follow his notes online, it will be more clear. Don't be afraid to ask him questions after class if you don't understand his lecture, because he will be more than glad to clarify. Very willing to give deserving grades.
Don't take his class if you don't want to teach yourself. His lectures are terrible; he never uses a lesson plan, and often forgets to mention important concepts in class. He will give you every exam question before the exam, so if you study those and have another, better teacher teach you the concepts, you should be ok.
Hey, want to not learn about physics for an hour and 15, well then he is the guy for you. Just sit and listen to him say how the absurd amount of homework he gives is only going to help, while he decides not to teach or explain anything. Have a question, good luck getting an answer, cause he does not care at all. unless u can teach urself dont take
Teaches in a very efficient manner and doesn't waste your time with mountains of unnecessary homework that isn't representative of what'll be on the test. Not that helpful in office hours though.
Don´t take him. PS160 is a easy class and he makes it much more difficult than i really is. His lectures are very confusing and messy, and in many cases you have to teach yourself how to do some things. He is not accessible outside of class and he looses a lot of time telling stories instead of teaching physics.
DO NOT take. This is the worst professor Ive had at Riddle. He doesnt teach he only lectures on how he passed physics in his doctorate program and his son at the naval academy. Multiple quizs a week and does not post anything in canvas. If you want to know your grade... good luck he locks it out so you cant see it. He absolutely sucks. -Fall20
His style and method of teaching really helps you understand the concepts in the textbook, and he lectures at a decent speed where you wont feel lost or bored.
Vuille's teaching style is the most effective I've ever witnessed. All teaching should follow his methodology: every class you will review notes and practice problems, then every online quiz is made of problems similar to the notes, and finally every exam is based on the quizzes. This course requires serious commitment, and Vuille will help you!
Dr. Vuille is an AMAZING professor! He has a fantastic style of teaching that I wish every professor used. It's still very much in your best interest to show up for class, but he made class interesting and fun. I would definitely recommend taking him for PS160.
Hes honestly not bad. He will however gives you quizzes that are due before you learn the information in class. I would spend my time in the tutoring center learning all the information so I could pass. I will say, tho he is the only professor that makes quizzes for a grade, it helps you on the module exams.
Dr. Vuille is not the worst out there. Sometimes he does a great job during his lecture and it is really easy to grasp what he is teaching. Other times he flies through the topics and does not teach them because theyre easy problems. But when you go to do your homework you get problems that are nothing like what you went over.
Dr. Vuille's lectures do not match the module exams or quizzes whatsoever. I was better off teaching myself based on the exams. He rushes through concepts and assumes you can fill in some of the blanks yourself. He assigns quizzes before the previous module exams are do so you kind of have to throw away some attempts. He will reopen assignments.
The combination of illegible handwriting and a complete lack of teaching organization makes relatively simple physics extremely tedious and hard. Expect a quiz, 2 module exams, and 1-2 homeworks every week. He's a nice guy and willing to adjust deadlines, but he's so brilliant that he is simply not fit to teach simple physics. Go with Hughes.
Prof. Vuille is a great grandpa. He really cares about his students! He always pushes the Mod dates back to make sure that all his students get good scores. If you need extension on top of that, he will be willing to accommodate. Lecture are a little disorganized but chegg works. His practice tests are pretty much identical to whats on the exam.
DO NOT TAKE HIM! Failed the class because he is a very very tough grader, went from a C to am F because he doesn't know how to grade exams. His classes are horrible, just goes over problems. The only ONE good thing he has, is very quick to respond emails, even tho sometimes he will be petty and expect a lot from you. No partial credit final
He was a really good professor. He doesn't use powerpoint slides, most of the lecture we are memorizing/applying formulas for the Module Exercises. He let us retake our test at the end of the semester because we were two weeks because we were ahead for most of the time. Overall, great professor and love his stories.
Dr. Vuille is very passionate about what he teaches. However, he is prone to going off on tangents. If you go to class and read his notes you'll pass easily. I wish he had taught a bit more slowly, as he goes quite fast. But, his class was enjoyable.
He will spend the first 15 minutes of EVERY lecture yapping about nonsense. He doesn't lecture but instead goes through examples at an incredible speed. Exams aren't too bad, just do the practice midterms over and over and you'll do fine. I learned absolutely nothing despite attending every lecture.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Vuille is by far the worst professor I have ever taken here. His lectures are an hour and 15 minutes of incomprehensible rambling with a couple of physics problems sprinkled in. He prioritizes 30-40+ hw problems per week over actual review. Heavy emphasis on rote memorization of equations, as no equation sheet is given on exams.
D1 rambler. Most classes were spent doing 2-3 problems while he talked about whatever. Was good at teaching when he chose to. SO MUCH HOMEWORK!!! Genuinely insane amount of quizzes and module exercises. Will re-open any assignment you ask though, and a very kind & funny man. Will make sure you're prepared for exams no matter what.
If you're looking to waste class time, have a professor who is always late to class, be talked at about things unrelated to the class, have uploaded notes that aren't helpful, have questions go either unanswered or misunderstood (ie. given an answer not helpful), and more, Charles Vuille is for you; the antithesis of what a professor should be. GL
Absolutely the worst professor. Terrible at teaching and doesn't care about teaching or explaining concepts, rather emphasizes memorizing formulas like drones instead of understanding them. The reason his rating is high is because the high reviews are from a while ago, perhaps before he was subject to the effects of old age. DO NOT TAKE!!!
Vuille would be a good teacher if he actually taught. He would give us 2-3 examples per class and just talk most of the time, but the homework outside of class was insane. So many quizzes. The quizzes/MEs are good prep for the exams, and if you do them while following along with his notes you can pass without having to go to his lectures.
This man should not be in a University: he should be in an elder care facility. It is honestly elder abuse to keep him here and teaching classes when he so very clearly can barley hold his train of thought. Get ready for one example per class (if its a good day for him), a lot of belittling, and crazy stories about the origins of COVID.
Really not a good professor. He wasted 90% of every lecture yapping about random stuff that nobody cares about. He does not check attendance, but we did have a few pop quizzes. Just when you're feeling overwhelmed with learning the content on your own he shoves a 50 question homework down your throat. Don't take at all costs.
DO NOT TAKE HIM!!! He will ramble on about slavery and how covid wasn't real. He really only teaches for less than half the class and teaches is a stretch. He needs to retire already.
If you want a class that you can skip with minimal consequence, take this one. He warned us on the first day of class that he was a rambler but 'goes over material quickly'; I SEVERELY underestimated that comment. I had to teach myself 90% of the content and basically lived in the Tutoring Center b/c he YAPS and rarely goes over examples problems.
DO. NOT. TAKE. This guy may have been good 10 years ago but clearly needs to retire. Most lectures were spent with him showing up late to class and rambling about anything but physics, and I taught myself basically 95% of the material. You will not learn anything physics related in his lectures. Once again, DO. NOT. TAKE.
This semester I think he may have taught for a total of 20 minutes. He is often on some sort of tangent about his family members, the government,or literally anything other than physics. If you end up in his class,it's not the end of the world.Teach yourself the material with chatgpt and his example hw and use all your attempts on quizzes and me's.
Vuille hasn't ever taught the class and talks about anything other than physics. You will be teaching yourself the material if you do end up with him. I will say, if you miss and assignment he will open it up and push due dates back forever. Also, he will give you 50 question GRADED homeworks, days before a test to "better help you prepare".
Don't be deceived by his high rating, he is well past his prime. I hope he retires soon because no one should be teaching at his age. He seems like a cool grandpa but is a very bad professor that does not teach and just tells random stories during class. I had to learn on my own and use SI just to barely get a B. If you have him please swap.
