Professor Weidman is a really cool guy with best of wishes for his students. Buy the class notes and embellish on them during the lectures. Tests are important he offers study sessions, so go to them! He has a monotonous tone of voice but is silly.

Professor Weidman is hilarious, in an odd way but still really funny, he really wants you to do well and gives plenty of opportunity to recieve extra credit and writing assignment points, tests can be difficult but going to the study sessions(conducted by him and not a stupid TA)is extremely helpful

He is hilarious, and makes it impossible to get a poor grade. There is a ton of extra credit, his grading is really flexible, and the tests are simple. Turn in 90% of your work, and you'll get an A without a problem. Great class for non-science majors! Best teacher I've had @ UA!

Buy the class notes, annotate them, and you'll be golden. He explains qualitative science VERY well. Even this math major (BA!) got something out of it!

class is pretty easy... people don't do well cause they dont study the class notes... good luck figuring out your grade, his system(s) are whacky... don't forget to bring your colored pencils...

Great teacher...very entertaining and pretty easy! The study guides and study sessions are very helpful for quizzes. Lecture notes are online, but going to class makes it a lot easier. I never read, but got an A because he gives a lot of extra credit and some writing assignments to cushion your grade. Definitely a great class...take it!

Great teacher, one of the best, he is funny and makes this science class fun to go to, and learn, his drawings are funny and very helpful. If you need a Nats class take this with him, easy A. Plus you learn a lot about about the weather. Go to his classes. they are fun to be in and participate. His experiment are awesome!!!

This is a very fair class with lots of extra credit opportunities. Even if you don't do well on the quizzes, there are lots of writing assignments to balance it out. The only thing that can be difficult is mustering the energy to come to class because he doesn't require attendance and puts everything online. He's very funny also.

He was a fun teacher but the class was boring sometimes. There were a lot of notes to take and the tests took a lot of preparation. He is pretty fair though and gives other opportunities to earn a good grade.

This class is hit or miss. Either you'll get the material and do well on the tests or you'll study for hours and just barely get by. THE FINAL IS EASY! If you do well on it, he'll make it 40% of your grade instead of 20%. Tests aren't everything as there's written assignments in addition to a fair share of extra credit. Go to class!!!

Great guy, if you go to class very easy to get a B. Go to test reviews, he basically tells you what is on the test. Getting an A is very attainable. Tests are all very easy, but make sure you study or they wont be easy.

The subject is boring, but Weidman is HILARIOUS! He tells really funny stories, and there isn't a textbook for the class, just his photocopied class notes. He gives funny examples and tells funny stories about something every day, and if he wasn't a funny prof i probably wouldn't have got up at 8AM every day for this class. GOOD TEACHER! :)

Probably the easist class I've taken since 8th grade. Ended up with well over a 100%. If you go to class and review the online notes the day before the quizzes you should be good to go. Recommend this class to everyone. Easy A. Wish I could take his class again.

Very quirky, amusing man. Posts all lectures notes and homework assignment notes online. Doesn't require textbook. He draws A LOT of fun diagrams that really help to understand material. He is no hard on grades for writing assignments (he sometimes doesn't even read them). Should definitely take it if you're just looking for an easy NATS Tier 1!

Funny old man, very lenient on due dates, cuts A LOT of slack.The course material is not very interesting, make sure not to slack and do good in the beginning and it will give you some room to slack later, and perhaps not have to take the final.

Weidman is probably ok one of the best professors I have had here. I did in his class. Lectures not mandatory. HIGHLY RECOMMEND going to the reviews before the quizzes. doesn't ever have homework only optional assignment that again recommend doing. They are extremely easy and some are even fun to do, only 1 page long double spaced for each of them.

Everyone is right when they say this class is easy and great. The teacher cracks jokes and can make the material far less boring than it could be. Just put in an effort and you'll do just fine. Professor Weidman is the bomb. Get the class notes, even old editions will do (he actually encourages this). Eventhing is spelled out in black and white. Do the out of class reports and get enough points and you won't have to take the final! Easy A and it's actually interesting to see his in-class experiments. AWESOME PROF.

If you want a certain A, take this class! I went to class about 3 times and still managed a 96%. Your grade consists mainly of 4 quizzes which he gives thorough reviews for. Go to the reviews, study just the reviews, and you'll ace all of the quizzes. It's that easy. There's an experiment too, but you get to resubmit it to get a better grade.

Without a doubt the easiest class I have taken at UofA. I went to class maybe 5 times the whole semester. All you need to do is go to the study sessions before a quiz and you'll get an A. Write one simple experiment report and a few one page papers and you'll get an A. Don't go to class don't take notes just go to the study sessions.

Hes the man. Hes so dorky that you can't help but love him. He loves to draw pictures to help explain everything, he posts old tests for you to study as well as a study guide. The classnotes are a key to success. Study for the quizzes because they are hard! I average a B+ on them but that's b/c I always go to his review sessions which are really helpful. This professor is hilarious and while the material isn't that interesting I go to class everyday because I just enjoy his old man stories about his cats, tomatoes, etc.

Great professor. You should have no problem receiving an A in this class. Gives over 10 opportunities to receive extra credit throughout the year and has additional extra credit on all of his exams. Get started one the one page reports early and cruise to the finish. Final isn't required if you have an A at the end of the semester. Good luck.

He is a really lenient grader. If you're in between two letter grades, he will let you make up those points, even after the end of the semester. Take the class, he's awesome!

Everyone says this is an easy gen ed. I, however struggle with math and science and am a B student. It was difficult maintaining my B throughout the course. He's a pretty good professor and uses strange calculations to determine your grade, but it works in your favor.

Anything science related is pretty difficult for me, but I managed to pull of an A. If you show up everyday he will remember your face and be more likely to help you. If you struggle with sciences this is a good class to take but you really need to go to it and do the work. Attendance is not mandatory but I'm telling you, it helps a lot.

I completely missed the first quiz and he let me take it at his office with no penalty. Arrived at the end of class for the second quiz and he let me take it with the second class with no penalty. Such a nice guy and makes it so hard for students not to receive an "A." Easy "A" without showing up if you look at lectures online. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!

His grading is a little funky, but as long as you do all assignments you should be good. No textbook, but instead used class notes.

Great professor with genuine concern for his students' understanding. Although you definitely do not have to show up to class to get an A, (I rarely did) you'll have to go through his lecture notes that he posts online and show up for the quizzes. When you do show up, he's pretty quirky and funny. If you need a 170, this one is worth taking.

Professor Weidman plays music at the beginning of class and it really lightens environment of the class before he begins lecturing. Took 4 quizzes that were surprisingly difficult, however, he offers many optional assignments to boost your grade so I recommend doing those. Professor Weidman is so adorable! Every morning he wakes up the class with a variety of music and if you look closely, you may sometimes catch his feet dancing! Although he's a sweet man, his class tends to drag. Don't bother with the extra credit things - they're only worth 0.5 points each, usually. Quizzes are confusing; STUDYING IS A MUST!

One of my easiest Gen Ed. Class. You don't have to show up except to turn in your things. I didn't attend class very much, that being said, his old man stories are great and you do have to study if you want to get a good grade. Easiest Get ed! All I needed to do for this class is write the 10 1-side-1-paper assignments (super easy) and take the tests. You should buy the class notes offered at the bookstore and make sure you go to the review sessions before the test. If you do that, you will pass easy. Prof Weidman is a great guy and funny too! Attendance isn't important.

Definitely not the EASIEST 170 but its not horrible. Getting an A is manageable but you kinda have to try. This class was incredibly easy with a lot of extra credit opportunities. Attendance isn't mandatory but the experiments run in class are fun to watch. The class is based on points and it is up to you to do enough assignments to satisfy the amount of points required, but if you have an A you don't take the final.

Awesome teacher. Puts a lot of effort into the class and is understanding. If you study before the exams and go to the review sessions, you'll be fine

Professor Weidman is so funny and pure. I really enjoyed this gen-ed and it was so easy. I got an A in the class so I didn't have to take the final. I highly recommend going to his quiz reviews, the quizzes aren't too bad when you do that. He's the typically adorable old guy professor plus some of the material is interesting. Highly recommend

Professor Weismann is a great professor. His lectures were entertaining and really interesting. He also gives students plenty of EC opportunities, so I recommend you take advantage of these. His quizzes might me a little tricky, but as long as you study for them with the study guide he provides. If you have an A you wont have to take the final.

You can tell how much Weidman loves the material he is teaching! Class isn't mandatory, as long as you go to the review session he holds before each quiz you should be good to go... also, if you have a 90% in the class before the final then you don't have to take the final. If you do good on final it's worth 40%, if you do poorly its worth 20%

I absolutely love this professor he is funny and sweet and caring and is very enthusiastic about the material he is teaching. The class is an easy A, attendance isn't mandatory, and if you show up to his study sessions you'll do well on the quizzes. Although I've always been interested in weather, he's made me want major in it.

TAKE THIS CLASS! Dr. Weidman is the kindest teacher ever and it's not too difficult to end up with an A as long as you study for the tests and fulfill the writing requirements. Attendance isn't mandatory and he posts all his lectures on the ATMO website so I never really came to class except to turn in papers and take the tests.

There are 4 quiz's, 1 experiment report, and 1S1P assignments (each is worth different points, but you have to do enough to reach up to 45pts). He gives a bunch of extra credit, however he makes the quiz's worth A LOT of points, it's a mix of fill in the blank and multiple choice. He's "OK", but this class can be hard if you don't put the effort.

This class is a bit difficult, but Professor Weidman goes over all the notes and makes all notes available online and you can also buy a notes booklet in the bookstore. He hosts study sessions before each quiz and there are many opportunities for extra credit. The only real assignments are 1S1P's and an Experiment Report. I would take this again.

I admit I could've been putting in more effort but even when I did pay attention, it was hard. Many people in my class are dong bad. I don't know my grade yet because we still have a quiz and final to take. DO THE 1S1P Reports and do all the optional assignments. I just did poorly on my quizzes but did all the extra work and I currently have a C.
