Want an A? Show up. You'll get it.
very simple. straight foward. little work.
Easy, easy A. If you are really interested in sociology, you might be disappointed.
he's a great teacher!
Great class. Take good notes 'cause thats what his tests are based on. All tests are T or F or multiple choice and he doesn't try to trick you. He just wants you to know and be able to apply the concepts.
easy class, no out-of-class work, take-home final in essay form, lecture half the class time & class group discussion the other half.
Excellent teacher! Simple tests that are based on notes, so make sure you take them. Occasionally takes attendance. You can tell he likes teaching. Pay attention and you will pass. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
He is an great teacher. And if your interested in sociology you won't be disappointed, he just goes about his teaching it differenty, that is much much better!
Take note you will get A. No tricky questions on the test (True or false or multiple choices questions)
Mr. Whipple is good teacher and I found he is very professional too. His classes is easy and interesting. All the test is easy and he is very open for any comments too. For better achievement, you have to pay more attendion for taking notes.

Very easy class. He prepares you well for tests which are fairly simply anyway. Interesting discussions.
very very very very easy class to get an A
He is the best soc teacher at SCC and his lectures are awsome!!! His tests were multiple choice and the questions came straight from the study sheet he gives you in class. Easy A!!!
great!!!!!!
Easy: im lazy and i got an A. he teaches you everything in class so you dont have to study, you just listen, then you take a multiple choice test and get your A. Just add water.
this class is easy...show up everyday and yr guaranteed an A.he's passionate about what he teaches and it shows.he's cool to talk to,he's like one of the students.
He seems interested in sociology, but his lectures are so dull. Class format is something like this: 15 minutes note taking/15 minute movie watching/45 minutes group discussion. His test are WAY easy. One of the easiest classes at SCC. Do not take it if you want to actually LEARN sociology. Easy A.
I cant believe the # of people who said this class is "easy" and that you won't "learn" sociology. I am taking Soc 321 right now, and personally, I feel a bit insulted. Whipple teaches well, his lectures are interesting and different, and unless you are super-smart, this class is no breeze.
I like him alot, his main interest is to get you to understand the concepts, not work u to death, which is how it should be, he is all about participation and understanding, a good instructor, does care and you will learn.
Very good prof. Harder then i expexted. You need to take lots of lecture notes to do well on tests (all multiple choice)
EVERYONE WHO READS THIS TAKE THIS GUY!YOU WON'T REGRET IT. People say the lec are boring but I think they weren't, they were very interesting. Although the tests are crazy easy (only if you listen to lec) you still learn a lot. I think I learn more in his class than if i would've taken a diff soc teacher and studied my butt off. Thanx Mr. W!
Whipple is cool and laid back. His lectures and movies were very interesting. His tests were very easy because he pretty much gives you the test questions to take home & all you have to do is look up the answers and memorize them for the test. The group project @ the end of the semester is very easy and fun.
This class was somewhat boring and fairly easy. There were a lot of group discussions and he gets side-tracked a lot. I got B's on all my tests and an A in the class, so that was nice. I'd reccomend him, if you don't have a habit of falling asleep in class.
This class was easy as pie. Take him if you want a guarenteed A.
Mr W is a really good teacher. he seemed reel intersted in the subject and was very helpful. The lectures are very intersting with a lot of intesting examples. i like how he uses current events as exampls. Tests are based more on lecture than book, so take a bunch of notes. Easy A? RU serious? I got a b.
Ive taken two of his classes; I received in A in both. Dont read the book really take notes and you'll have an easy ass A.
by far the easiest instructor i've ever taken in my life...i showed up to class about half the time..never baught the book and still passed the class with an A...and the thing is...you still learn hella stuff...by far the best..

great teacher, very interesting very laid back really makes u think
Took this class over the summer. Too bad I was so distracted by how hot he is. Dreamy. Tests are straight from lecture and book. No funny stuff. Found out he's engaged, though. Too bad. Thought he would bump me up to an A, since I got an 89% in the class, but he didn't. Total babe, though. Mmmhmm.
Whipple sometimes appears a bit distracted, and if you ask him questions that may cause a "stir" he won't answer your question, he will justify it by saying we will get back to the question. He writes like a 6th grader and class is a bit boring, but easy.
The class itself is super easy. All test questions come from the book and movies are shown often.
Mr whipple is perhaps the most cool teacher ever. Extremly laid back the work isnt easy but if you read , theres no reason you shouldnt pass any test. Very approachable will talk at length after class about subject. Great if you want to learn and relax.
Whipple's class was pretty easy. The guy is pretty laid back and the tests aren't that hard if you do the study guides he gives, which are easy as well. We did alot of group work, so the work was less demanding. Final Exam in his class was the easiest final ever! We presented some skit in front of the class, that's it! I highly recommend him!
hes one of the coolest professors,he lec the whole entire class time but if he feels that the class isnt doing good he will let the test be a take home and when you do presentation it isnt bad because its a group presentation and each person only talks for max 2 min!! ive missed so many classes and did bad in the beginning but ended up with a B
He is very easy. The tests were a little tough cause I never did the reading but take him. I think everyone passes, he is so cool. Has you get in groups to discuss interesting topics in class, we watch some interesting movies, and the time he lectures, but he always tries to get people involved.Excellent teacher and easy class! Oh ya..barely any hw
This class is really easy, but sooo boring. The test are extermely simple even if u don't do the reading and he always ends points to everything. I didn't learn much but was an easy A.
Interesting class, no homework, easy tests. Great discussion and lectures are open discussion. He's very sexy and he kept my attention during class period. He encourages all the students to pass.
one of the coolest teachers. Take him ! guys!
Very relaxed and laid back teacher. Reading out of book is up to you. received about four short (5 question) tests online. mostly lecture, gives interesting examples to theories. only 2 major tests. not a lot of work during the first 75% of the semester. in the end you have a short class presentation worth 10 pts & 2 short papers. highly recommende
Great guy, nice teacher, extremely relaxing. Don't even worry about the last project (portfolio), because it is very easy and he grades it easy too. So yea, take him, and once again take him, the best teacher I've ever had in SCC. Charles you ROCK!!!!!!!!
I concur with these comments. Just took his class over the spring, and he is a great teacher.
This was a cool class & he is a good professor. His lecture topics are great and are easy to relate to life. He is more concerned that you understand the topic than what you read in the book.
GREAT Teacher. He clear and gets right to the point. He uses good examples and the class gets to participate. Take His class!!
OMG the BEST, YES BEST teacher that you can ever take. Very cool, likes the subject that he teaches, 3 tests and super easy. If you dont get an A in his class then you need to get your head checked.
a great teacher. He is willing to work with you until you understand the concepts. He doesn't make the class into a "blame game" which is easy to do when your teaching a class on race and prejudice. A lot of what he teaches is common sense once you start thinking about it. And that is what Mr Whipple does...he makes you think.
WHIPPLE!! HOLA!! He's awesome.
whipple is amazing! i love his class. though he uses the text in his class, he lectures both from the book and independent source. his final is a take home test. he is super easy, but you still have to put in effort to pass. it was difficult for me to come to class every day and because of it and thanking whipple's mercy he passed me with a "C".
He's the best Sociology teacher ever. There were only 2 multiple choices exams and no finals. Group presentation was easy and fun. Extremely recommand!
online quizes with multiple attempts, two easy midterms based off lecture with study guides, no final, easy group presentation on concepts learned in class...recommend for any social science classes!
Only a fool will see Whipple's class and not take. He is AMAZING! His lectures are interesting, and makes you think. This class is so easy, if you attend everyday and take notes. Easy peasy A to bump up your GPA. ;) TAKE! TAKE! TAKE!
Easiest A ever! Take this class if you need your GPA to be bumped up...oh, just a note: DONT MISS CLASSES. That's the only thing that can bring down your grade, other than that, easy peasy A. Whipple ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whipple is a good run of the mill teacher, not much to say. You can retake his quizzes online till you get that perfect 10. You must take notes on what he is saying (he usually doesn't use the board), his material on lectures are what makes it into the tests so if note taking is a must.
very clear. Repeats and reviews a bit each time which is awesome cuz not too many teachers will review and remind like that.
HE'S A GOOD TEACHER! HIS LECTURES ARE INTERESTING AND HIS CLASS IS ALSO. we watched movies and stuff too so yes take whipple if you want to pass.
Great professor. Lectures are interesting, clear. Learn a lot of stuff.
This teacher is awesome. Very laid back and interesting guy. I loved his class and I recommend anyone to take him!
Whipple is a good prof. Interesting class and he uses interesting videos. fun class!
Comments are pretty much on point. Can't complain. Highly recommend taking his class. You can't go wrong.
Charles Whipple is an "alright" teacher. He wasn't bad but I thought most of his lectures were boring. There is no final exam. He only gives 2 tests and then a group presentation. I wasn't getting the connection at all.
This class got me extremely curious about sociology. Whipple is a great professor. He is very helpful, clear, and encouraging. This class is straight forward and designed to help you succeed. TAKE WHIPPLE!
I loved this class. Mr. Whipple makes it very interesting. He doesn't just sand up there and lecture like other professors. I also took soc 321 with him which was also an interesting class. I wish he taught more classes--I would take any class he offered.
Great guy. Interesting, great lectures, very creative classroom.
He as a monotone voice,so fighting the urge to daydream is hard, but if you want an easy teacher,he?s the one.He gives 5 quizzes,10 pts each, but one is simply used for extra credit,so you really only take 4 quizzes and get and extra 10 pts for the 5th.They are online and open book.Easy class for anyone with a brain.Looking for an A+ take him.
Seriously? Mr. Whipple (Chaz) is no joke. He really teaches the racial and ethnic relations like it is. Without a doubt, Prof. Whipple knows how to put it on your terms because most classes - we do it for ourselves. The small group sessions yield positive results, and that is the majority of each class: talking about life. I highly recommend!!
this is a good teacher. lectures are kind of hard to take notes on but if you pay attention, it's easy!! tests are on lectures, movies, n book. online quiz = easy project = easy group discussions are fun and actually makes you learn!! totally recommend takin this guy!!
Really Cool, and I liked that he didn't make everything Black and White he takd about all races. He tells it like it is.
Great teacher
This class was easy but if you force yourself to pay attention and participate you will learn a lot. Charles is good about masking his own opinions of topics. If the information seems biased, it's not, just so happens that minorities are regularly oppressed by white people, be it inadvertently or otherwise. Straightforward tests straight from notes
His class can be pretty boring. He offers study guides for the exams and as long as you understand the material listed there is no reason why you shouldn't get an A. Instead of a final exam there is a final group project which is a piece of cake. Didn't even have to attend class the last week or two.
Highly recomended. Covers a lot of interesting material. The final is an easy group presentation.
Though, his lectures were boring, I enjoyed his class! Two tests. 5 online quizzes Multiple choice. Final is a group presentation. Easy Class! Oh! And He's HOT! LOL!
He is so AWESOME. It's an interesting class and he likes to make life easy, he doesnt believe in adding more stress to finals so we had group presentations. 2 tests 5 quizzes online, all multiple choice. I enjoyed his class and him as a professor. Everyone should deff. take him, well worth it!
2 Tests, 5 Quizzes, 1 Presentation, Attendance, and that's your grade. Easy! His material is basically all lecture, and makes the subject understandable to all. He's kind of weird sometimes, but he is funny and jokes around from time to time. He is also very chill about missing work. Take him because you will get a good grade and learn a lot.
great professor! really laid back and easy going. attendance is taken a good majority of the time. his lectures are fantastic and pretty much cover all the material. so book doesnt need to be/isnt used very much, maybe except for quizzes(there are five). presentation as a final, but its VERY easy, so dont be discouraged by that. great teacher/class
He's very clear on the material and very nice as well! Study for the tests and do well. You didn't really NEED the book because he explained everything well in the lectures. You should get it though I guess if you're an overachiever... haha. But yay Whipple!
Cooolest teacher out there! VERY clear on all his teaching! FUN!
he is very mellow and curious about life in general. his classes are very interesting. doesnt take attendance regularly but he presents notes in every lecture so id recommend you go to every single class. his class is wayyyy to easy. but you do learn. take him, you wont regret it
I wasnt hot on multi-culture at first. Wow after the first week totally cool and really good class. I learned a lot and Charles is a fantastic professor. Totally fair and great knows his subject.
Very laid-back, easy going prof. Study guides given for tests. A small debate project at the end of the semester; but you pretty much have to participate in it to get an A. Overall, it was definitely an easy A.
Took him for SOC 300 & 321. Grade is based on 2 50 point exams, 5 point syllabus quiz on d2l, 15 point midterm on d2l, 5 point in-class final and 15 points attendance/participation. Exams will be 80% lecture and 20% from the book. Very detailed study guides 1 week before exam. With a little work an A is certainly possible.
He awesome
One of the easiest classes to get an A in. Very chill/approachable professor, and the subject matter was always engaging.
I thought it would be an interesting class, but I was wrong. The class' topics might be interesting but the teacher doesn't make them engaging. He often repeats himself and doesn't seem willing to help his students if they have questions.
Charles' classes are probably the easiest classes I've ever taken. He gives you study guides that are exactly of what's going to be on the tests so do those and you'll do well on the exams. Quizzes are done online and he only has scantron tests. There's a lot of group discussions during class so beware if that's something you don't like.
Great Professor! Very nice and caring, helps you if you ask for it, and also the quiz's are taken at home. and there is a STUDY GUIDE! follow that and you'll do fine. You can get an A if you do all the homework and do the study guide. Great teacher!
I personally didn't find this class interesting. He has a really soft voice that makes me feel sleepy. His tests are VERY specific & could have more than one correct answer but he wants the one that is more right lol. Study and you'll do just fine
I have not completed this class yet - 11/3/16 - however, I must say this was/is one of my easiest classes. I have learned a lot through the lectures and textbook. The discussions are based on the lecture/textbook, as well, which makes it easy (if you are following along). There are a lot of mulit-choice quizzes throughout. Overall great class!
I actually really enjoyed this class and I think this class should be mandatory. You are graded on 2 multiple choice exams, 4 quizzes, participation, and there is no FINAL. I would have received an A if i didn't miss a quiz. :( Easy class. Take good notes and I only cracked open the book when I worked on the study guide.
Prof Charles was AMAZING. He knows his stuff and makes lectures engaging and gets the class involved. He was not a difficult grader and this class is an easy A if you do the work (which is minimal). Would definitely take him again.
Whipple's class was super easy. I took a hybrid class and most of the course work is done online. He assigns about 9 quizzes and they are SUPER EASY. Study for the 2 tests and easy A.
Awesome professor. Ive heard he's monotone that he gets boring, yes true with the monotone voice but omg... he is the best monotone person ever! Even though he is not a tough grader everything he teaches is understanding. On point professor.
Professor W is actually very passionate about the subject he teaches. You will get some online quizzes which are easy. You will have several group discussions, 2 major exams that you must study for or you will fail. Participation and attendance is also key to pass.
Easy class mostly based of off lectures. There's always a sign in sheet, but I've missed class multiple times and wasn't penalized in any way. Easy quizzes, only two tests (midterm and a final). With moderate effort you'll get a good grade. Good professor.
DR. Whipple is an amazing teacher. he is very knowledgeable, gives good lectures, engages the students, and gives good study guides. He wants the students to succeed, not fail. Charles Whipple is an awesome teacher. I encourage all students to take his 321 class.
Took this class online for general ed credit. If you want an easy A in this class, just do the work that is asked of you and you will pass for sure. He even gives bonus points for participation. Great professor and his lectures are funny and easy to follow. Would definitely take again.
Amazing professor for his online class. His lectures are easy to understand and he gives extra credit if you participate through the semester. It's not hard to get an A in this class at all. I would highly suggest taking this class.
This was a great class for the first half of the semester until he gave out the first test and basically messed up my entire test by losing the scan-tron and then also accusing me for cheating. With that said he is friendly but that isn't all to become a good professor. Missing more than 10 questions on the test can cost you a whole letter grade
No comments. The worst professor on campus.
Took the online class for general ed and it was minimal work. You have to read the textbook for the weekly quizzes and there are about 4 discussion posts throughout the semester. Very few exams as well. Just do the work he assigns and youre guaranteed to pass. Easy A! Would definitely recommend this professor.
Professor Whipple is an easy going guy and cares about the students. I recommend him for sociology. He does take attendance but he does not drop you if you miss more than 3 classes you just have to communicate with him. Really straight forward Prof.!
Took his class online, (pretty easy A) just do the work there isn't too much. Some discussion boards, weekly quizzes and two exams. Interesting lectures that weren't too lenghthy. Awesome teacher and class!
Awesome teacher, super funny & really cute
He has a hard time seeing so you'll have to speak! Other than that he's funny and his tests are SUPER easy, just study on Quiz-let and you'll pass with flying colors. Mind you I failed the first exam and got an A on the last exam. He bumps you up also! Don't buy the book it's a waste of money if you are in his Soc 300 hybrid class.
This is a great class to take. There is group discussions but he makes it easy to take to everyone. As for the tests, if you study the review he gives you'll pass. Nothing we cant handle. Highly recommended.
Easily the one of the best professors I've ever taken. New module/chapter is assigned every week, ending with a quiz and sometimes a discussion post. Only 2 major tests for the entire semester. No cumulative final. As long as you do the bare minimum, you'll be fine. Gives helpful (and funny) feedback on posts.
Class isn't that hard so long as you show up and study for the tests, which make up most of your grade for the class. His study guides are very useful for preparing for the test, so between that and good lecture notes you will pass for sure. There is a lot of student participation and in class activities so don't miss class or come late.
Amazing prof. lectures are interesting, his power points are very straight forward which makes it easy to take notes. There are general questions in between topics as well as review, he cares and wants to make sure the topic is understood. Study guides are provided by him, as long as you study and show up you will pass.
I really enjoyed his class a lot. He really goes out of his way for his students. I overslept for an exam and he let me retake it, although the retake was an interview. Most professors would just say no to make their lives easier. I really appreciated how straight forward his class is. PPTs posted online, but makes more sense if you go to class.
This guy does the worse cut and paste job I've ever seen. He also has no idea how to spell. When I cut and paste his modules to word so I can save them little red lines are all over the place. But if you read all the material the tests are pretty easy. Plus, it's online so that helps. He doesn't give good feedback for the discussions.
Charles Whipple made intro Sociology not too challenging and everything was very matter of fact. There were quizzes, discussion boards, and 3 exams and that was it. Very straight forward and makes a great Intro. SOC course.
So for this professor, hands down an easy A. Do the work, show up on time and please make sure you participate because that does count in the end and will help your grade. He has 3 exams and the book is a must for sure! Very cool and laid-back and interesting with his lecture and topics. Nice PowerPoints and a great professor who has good lectures.
This was an easy class. I enjoyed the format online. The information is interesting, some weeks are better than others. Grades were done in a timely manner.
He's caring and responds quickly to emails. This course contains of 5 discussion forums, quizzes every week and 2 exams. Definitely NOT an easy class that you would expect from a general ed course. You have to read the textbook and put in the work. But the good point is he will notice your hard work.
Professor Whipple creates his online content to make you feel as though you are having a conversation with him. He uses current topics and upbeat fast-paced video enhancements to get the lesson across. Not only is he on top of what you are doing, but also when you start to slip on classwork with reminders to get you back on track. Love him.
He is a great professor. He had many group discussions which were super great. Easy A.
Easy class to pass, just do weekly quizzes, 2 tests and 5 different discussion posts. Quizzes/tests were very easy and straight from lecture and textbook. Discussion posts were easy and he gives feedback on your post.
He's organized and responds to email pretty quickly. Weekly discussion boards and quizzesmidtermfinal. The questions in quizzes can be very particular, so just read up and you should do fine!
This will probably be the easiest class you can take. If you really care about the subject and read the book, you will learn a lot of valuable information! The tests are all true and false and is very easy. All of the answers are on the lecture notes. Will give out extra credit throughout the course
This man is wicked smart. The material used to learn for this class is usually primary sources which is helpful to learn sociology from a practical standpoint. After taking his class I feel like I know much more about the world around us. I would love to have him as a teacher again
Professor Whipple's modules are very simple to get through and as long as you do your readings and complete the necessary assignments, you're going to get a good grade. He always sends the class reminders to complete their work and always gives genuine feedback and actually acknowledges your work, rather than just give you a superficial response.
easy, brief modules to read through. no textbook. the modules were funny and super easy to understand. each week there is one to two assignments, like a discussion or a short quiz (5 questions). 3 tests total, 40 questions each with a 3 hour time limit. very easy. take this class. very informative and engaging
Easy A, but you won't learn anything. Lazy teacher , does not respond to emails. His lectures/quizzes are based on HIS personal life experiences. If you don't plan on learning much and want an A, this is the class for you. He thinks he's funny and attempts to relate to the students (if you're into slang) So unprofessional. A complete bore!
I really enjoyed his class. It was pretty easy. There is an online book to read. The weekly readings thru canvas and are relatable and pretty current events. He has a lot of interesting videos. There is a quiz a week. He reminded you about the quiz before the quiz so you didn't forget.
This was a class where we did not meet up but I still understood so many new facts. The exams and quizzes were manageable. It was just a lot of information. I loved this class, very easy.
Seriously, one of the most easiest teacher ever! To be honest, I wish most classes was like this. The work was doable and no essays. The work consisted of reading, quiz/test, and discussions. I don't think any one will ever regret taking his class! It's that simple!
He is a very kind and easy-going professor. He makes his slides entertaining and with personality. Homework is straightforward, doesn't overload you, and you learn a lot through them. He responds to emails quickly and shows care within them. Don't hesitate to take his class!
Super easy class with not much homework. One easy quiz each week and occasional discussions. I don't feel like I really learned anything special, but it was a very easy A.
His course was truly tailored for online. It's too the point, not pages & pages of reading in the modules, it's informative, but engaging. While reading along you feel like your in the classroom listening to him in person. He has clear guidelines on grading, late work, etc. & his work load is manageable. I would definitely take his class again.
Professor Whipple's class is straightforward with manageable weekly assignments. The material is engaging, and using unstuck AI alongside the online textbook helped me excel. Highly recommended for an easy yet rewarding credit.
Her class was super easy I recommend her class take it now. U have just a few assignments the whole semester. You have one quiz every week, but sometimes you will have a discussion board too. Overall easy A.
The class was very engaging and I enjoyed how in touch the lectures were with the module material. Overall not very hard class as long as you keep up weekly. I enjoyed it!
Easy grader, easy tests and assignments, never spent too long on the work for the week. His humorous personality bled through his lectures. Totally recommend especially if you're taking a class for credit and it's not your major. He offers more OPTIONAL in depth reading for nerds!
Great Class. Each week, read chapter, read module, quiz (1 try, timed), a few assignments called SKILLS (untimed quizzes), 3 DB's. If you do the work the quizzes and assignments are easy. The modules were well organized, explained the topics and were well written. Would work well with a more demanding class. Overall loved it. No unit tests.
Very easy class.
Chill professor and easy class.
Professor Whipple was honestly the best. Very easy and manageable class. If you're looking for an easy class to pass for pre req, this class is for you!! His class consisted of a weekly quiz with 10 multiple choice questions and rarely a discussion but nothing to complicated. Very reasonable with late assignments. Overall, amazing professor :)
I would definitely recommend Professor Whipple! Very EASYYY class & very accessible and reasonable.
