great guy and not bad looking either!
Good teacher, not to interested in government and politics. Tests are alright, if you show up to ever class he will give Xtra credit on each test. Writing credit is worth it!

What a great teacher! I had basically no interest in international relations until I took his class.Very interesting. Will explain everything to you without an attitude.Easy A if you study.Make sure you are a Roy Orbison fan; he will love you!!!
Took him for International Relations, Nat'l Government, and State and Local. A's in each one. Make sure ask him about the glazed donut sugar in his chest hair. My fav BCC instructor.
Loved this class. Dr. Windler is a nut. Learned so much without too much effort. He's an expert in this field. Sorry I couldn't take more classes with him. Long live Ray Orbison.
Great teacher. The key to his class is study guides. He tells you what to study. Great reviews. Recommend even for people who don't have a clue about politics, like me.

I agree with everything everyone else on here has said he is a good teacher I like him so far. but also if you are a liberal "democrat" try not to take offence to his comments he is very right wing and he is all about mr george w bush so if your anti bush and verbal about it I would advise against taking his class

If you read the book, this will be your easiest class. Tests are easy.
tHIS GUY IS FUNNY AND HE TRIES TO BE REAL. BUT IT'S HARD RAISING YOUR HAND FOR EVERY LITTLE THING. WE ARE ALL ADULTS IT'S POLITE BUT TO GO TOO THE BATHROOM WHY SHOULD I RAISE MY HAND. ONE MUST READ OR FOLLOW HIS STUDY GUIDE. YOU WOULD BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS CLASS. HOWEVER HE IS BORING AND CONTROLING. I GIVE HIM A "C" FOR CONTROL FREAK
Easy but EXTREMELY BORINGGGGGGGG!! It is useless to go to his class... you might as well stay at home studying by yourself, simply because he DOES NOT EXPLAIN ANYTHING WHAT SO EVER! He is a hippie!! Long white hair, wears a dressy shirt and tie with jeans..get distracted easily and will spend the whole class time talking about music bands and other random stuff.
Cool Prof....great class. Very smart, very considerate.....great dresser!! You can learn a lot even if you are not interested. Very fair and is a nice person. He is a Republican, loves Notre Dame, Loves food....but always on a diet. Talks about politics and you can tell he loves it. Stud!!
Great teacher. Hot and single. Dresses well. Makes the class very interesting. I have had him for other classes.....easy to get an A or B. You will learn a lot about Roy Orbison, food and Notre Dame. Go for it!!

Awesome professor! My best class this semester. He is a very funny guy, and keeps u wanting to listen to whatever he has to say. He is also makes sure u understand what he's talking about. If u should have any problems with the class material, he's willing to compromise.
I took him years ago and he still stands out as one of the best professors I have ever had. Funny, intelligent, entertaining, quirky and helpful, you will have a great time in his class AND learn a thing or two in the process. He's quite a character and I loved going to all of his classes. Dr. Windler rocks my socks!
nice teacher, 4 or 5 multiple choice test and you get to drop the lowest one, writing credit is pretty easy, tests are okay you need to really read the book although in the beggining of the semester he told us you dont... kinda boring sometimes he is always rambling
Despite having passed the course with an A, I don't recommend taking Dr.Windler. Yes, he can be "funny" at times but he can also be incredibly disrespectful. Oh & don't even think of trying to ask a question or receive any clarification! If you don't have any other options but to take his class, then just read/study your textbook & you should be ok
HEis awesome...he knows his stuff. If you are looking for a professor that cares and wants you to learn and have fun at the same time, you found the right guy! Just pay attention and take good notes, I highly recommed him.
He is very understandable and cares about his students. I wouldn't recommend the Video interactive class because it involves alot of reading and the test are from 80-97 questions each. He knows his subject, I would highly recommend him.
I recommend that you do not take his enriched learning class. I is really hard, and you have to be very disciplined. You do all the work. I bit on the rude side.

He is a very entertaining teacher, but you are not allowed to use the books in class. You have to read all the chapters before hand and just remember everything. The tests are not easy at all, this should have been an easy class for me I am a criminal justice major, state and local gov't, kinda go hand in hand, but this was not making any sense.
Cool teacher.....very smart, hoy guy, loves Notre Dame, loves Roy Orbison, LOVES government and politics. He really knows his stuff. A Republican but that is ok!!! Nice guy, down to earth.....nice on the eyes!!!!
If you need a writing credit take the class. By far the most easiest thing I had to write to get any type of credit. But the is SOOOOOOO SOOO boring. Every second of class all you want to do is sleep even if you aren't sleepy. The test isn't hard if you study the book. But he doesn't allow text books in class so your buying the text for studying.
This guy is very friendly and knows a lot about his subject,he is very funny. Give study guide before test and go over everything, test can be a bit tricky...but ok Easy A or B. Loves food and Notra Dame footbal team...
Excellent Professor! He loves Notre Dame and Roy Orbison. Show up to class,take notes, and answer questions and you will do good in his class. Easy writing credit... I highly recommend him..
GREAT TEACHER, PRETTY EASY CLASS, DONT MISS 2 MUCH CLASS HE GIVES LIKE 8 EXTRA POINTS ON EACH TEST IF U HAVENT MISSED A CLASS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!!
I thought this class would be interesting,but in his defense, it was only once a month. It was too much information for a one night class and too long in between classes, so he didn't have time to discuss anything. He only gave some of the answers and what may be on the upcoming test. It was actually HORRIBLE!! Don't take it one night a week :(
I completed the flexible-learning course. Class met once a month, involved me reading the textbook and watching DVD's on my own. Grade consist of only 2 test scores (70 questions each). He preps you for each test question, but if you dont read the book, you will fail! Awesome class! But, if you want to get more class discussion, take day class!
His writing credit consist of you writing your name on a sheet of paper and turning it in. Very easy and doesn't try to fail anyone. Easy class show up take notes and your guaranteed an A
Great guy, talks a lot about Notre Dame and loves Ray Orbison. Talks a lot off topic, but good class if your interested in the subject. Good teacher, easy to get an A if you pay attention and attend class. Would take again for sure.
Very Disorganized, runs out of time. Knows a lot but, asks vague questions, biased views, gets off topic a lot. easiest thing to do is attend class on review days and test day and you'll have study guides to know what to read and avoid the rest that is not on the test. Give you "points" for attending class. If you need a n INR credit take him.
I am a straight A student and let me tell you. He is the worst professor ever. He gets carried away and expects you to do well on his tests when he's too darn busy talking about irrevelent informations sucha as GAMBLING, MUSIC OR FOOD!!! He is favorism to other students, and He is inconsiderate. STAY AWAY!!!!!!
Doesn't let you bring your text book to class and takes you many random rabit trails that can confuse your mind with the correct informtion. I wouldn't say he is the worst I ever had or the best. His class isn't overly hard but not the easiest without the text book alowed in class. I would suggest another professor however for the course.
I took the flexible learning course. Class met 5 times. He gives you a study review sheet on what will be on the test. You then look up the definitions and memorize. He will then do a study session with the class, allowing you to verify your answers with rest of class. Really easy class, which my other classes were like this!
I took the flexible open college class,we met 5 times for the semester.There is a Mid-Term and a Final Exam and a 5 page paper..get DVDs from library and write about one...got a B... Prof Windler is ok gives out and goes over review packets in class, however ,please study at home becuz more than half the things on the test are not covered in review
His a pretty laid back instructor great sense of humor i liked him.
He's a good teacher but he gets off topic SO EASILY. I made the mistake of mentioning food to him and we had a class discussion about food for 30 minutes. He also mentions something but then says "But we'll cover that later" a lot.
know ledged about the subject, lectures are helpful to understand materials covered in the textbook. Important to read chapters before class time to be well prepared. Just take good notes, read and study textbook's materials and pay attention, an A+ is guaranteed.
I am in the flexible learning class we meet 5x's Only! It's not really working out. Class was full in begining, now with a month left, only 1/3 remain. If ur a political science major, then take him. If not ur screwed. Don't do the flexible learning. Too much info, and not explained properly.------>> VERY BORINGGGGGG<<-------
Really not good for the flexible learning class. He's okay, a little weird, mundane, and not a good "teacher". He doesn't know how to communicate with students. No one answers questions because more than likely your wrong, if u don't word it correctly. He's not really nice, would NOT recommend him. Don't knw my grade, but wouldn't take him again.
Dr.Windler is very intelligent, and knowledged about subject-matter. There is a lot to learn from Dr. Windler when it comes into history and politic.Most importantly, his exams are just what is covered during the study guide review. There is no tricky questions.I sugest taking morning classes than flexible course. His lectures are very interesting

First of all he is far from hot and definitely a horrible teacher. I am definitely convinced that he wrote his own reviews. He gives you useless study guides for a test that only a politician/ future politicians can pass. His classes are super boring lectures and you don't learn anything in his class. Complete waste of time and money! STAY AWAY!!!!
Dr. Charles Windler is very lovable. Willing to help when he is asked. Intelligent and knowledged about the U.S political history. I enjoyed a lot his lectures when taking POS 2041 and POS 2112. I dropped from INR 2002 just only for the early class meeting @8:00 a.m. Dr. Windler is admired for the knowledged he has and the goog looking he is.
All this guy does is talk about food its super annoying... not really helpful, if you want to pass his class just read the book word by word and maybe you'll pass. And please dont let him talk about his hair inplants super nasty...
He is a great teacher. The critics are totally wrong!! Some people just don't want to work. Very interesting, nice guy and great at giving grades if you try. One of the best I have ever had!

Anyone who gives this guy a bad rating is just a bad student. Dr. Windler tells his students everything they need to know to pass his class. He even gives study guides, which many professors don't. The only way you can possibly get less than a B in his class is if you just don't read. He doesn't lecture so if you don't read you fail, bottom line.
I used to be his student in 2009, taking both the Pos 2041, Inr2002 which I dropped from as for the early class meeting 8:00 a.m. Anyway he is a great professor , very knowledged, interesting personality, and sweet. Thaks Dr. Windler for being such a wonderful professor I have ever had.
He's a fine teacher, you'll pass his class if due. Initially, I remember trying 2 bet some1 $1 that he'll talk about food every class but I was wrong. He's more intelligent regarding politics than I would have assumed. I've nearly no complaints - he'll ignore your question if you weren't present last class and he "covered it". He's a benefit 2 B.C.
I LOVED THIS CLASS! If you read the chapters and listen to him in class you'll get an easy A. He gives study guides for every test but you still have to read. He is also very funny and always makes fun of his weight all the time. Gets off topic really easy but will finish all the notes. You will learn so much in this class. TAKE HIM!

Really funny guy. He highly dislikes having you use the textbook in class. He likes to teach from his notes, then wants you to go home and read the book on your own time. He always gives good reviews before every test and gives an optional test to help you pass. Overall, great teacher, let's you out early too. Highly recommended.
Loved him if you participate in class he will always keep that in memory when it is time for grading.If you are doing so so on your test, he will pull you aside and give you encouragement especially if you have been participating. only downside he is a Republican.
you come to class 4 minutes late he calls your name but has not start teaching yet, he will mark u absent. Talk more about other things then teaching. He make u fill like experiencing kindergarden all over again, in a bad way. Boooo, should have a warning about teachers like that. I will say his review hum, rather stay home teach myself.
Professor Windler is a nice and funny man, but is flustered most of the time. He runs out of time because he gets sidetracked, but gives a study guide for the test and goes over what you need to know. I got an A but it wasn't an easy, I worked hard & read the book rather than just listen to him. Recommend if your willing to put the time and effort.
He is exellent. I took International Relations on the Fall 2010. I wish all professors were like him. Respectful, caring, clear, gives reviews.
The course is nice, easy, and interesting but he's not going to help you. You're 1 minute late, you're absent. He's just going to tell you "Do your best." He took me 4 points because I didn't put my name on the paper of the exam, and 5 points because I came late just twice although he knew that I had been there. He has not any extra points for you.
I took Dr. Windler as a dual enrolled high school student. He has a knack for getting the students involved, even if it's a subject they may not tend to like. Learning in the class came easily only because Dr. Windler makes the content enjoyable, but you must put in study time too. He adds facts (not for test, just for fun) that the book lacks.
His an amazing person but as a teacher i never understood him,i had to w/draw cus i couldnt understnd him at all. his test are easy is just you have to read alot. if you dont read you will fail the course. his vocabulary is so hard to understand even he says that he always messes up. he doesnt know how to pronounce certain things.dont take him

Very knowledgeable professor, tests are based on the book, use the book, read at home since you can not in class. If you do not read the chapter, you will fail. If you read and participate in class, you won't have a problem.
Windler is an awesome yet sarcastic teacher so dont take what he says personally. He knows alot about the subject and has alot of stories to tell. The book is highly mandatory! Im selling mine though if interested. 954 501 5352. You have to actually read on your own time to understand the class and he gives extra credit points as well.
He doesn't let you ask questions in class, both during lectures OR during a review. He doesn't like to let anyone leave during class unless they have a REALLY good reason. This is the only class that I've had trouble in so far. I read the book, studied for the tests, and still never made higher than an 84. Talks a lot about football and wrestling.

Dr.Windler is a very nice guy. Attendance is not mandatory but it makes an immense difference in your grade when you show up(He gives extra points for on time attendance). He does go off on long tangents at times,& is easily side-tracked.All in all, READ the textbook, do not rely heavily on the study guide.
I promise this is the first Professor I have written about and I have to say this is one of the worst Professors teaching this course. Hes hard to understand since he rants and is boring. Im doing you a favor pick another National Government class.

Doesn't ever really teach, you're basically expected to learn everything out of the text book. When you come into class he'll ask you random questions about the chapter you just read (most of the topics he covers will not be on the test). He is very rude and does not allow you to ask questions. Do not take his class it's not easy or informative.
horrible! do not take him. waste of a semester! wont let u use the book in class. had like 4 tests and that was it. no class work. rambles on and on about his life and other info thats not towards this class. save yourself some time and look for a better professor.
The most boring waste of time. 4 tests, no other assignments. Gives you a study guide for the tests that you can use during it. Attendance isnt mandatory but I was reprimanded for never going. Every time I went was a waste of time. Rambles on and on and on.

If you don't want to learn anything, study by yourself, have a though grader and a monotone class take him. If not run from it. I hated it and I had to stay to the end, because I could not drop anymore. Be aware!
