He was very clear regarding what was going to be on the test. All the test material was off his powerpoints, which he made available. I emailed him many times and he responded right away. 15 hrs per week is the recommended study time. He dropped the lowest exam. Connect assignments were full credit if completed (200/1000pts!) He is a good teacher!

I did not have Prof. Wuertzer as my professor but he did help me quite a bit as a tutor which is why I wanted to say how pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful he is. I thought very highly of him because he was always more than happy to help the kids in the NSEC even in cases like mine, not actually being in his class. Overall a very good teacher.

He always answered emails in a timely fashion & never got impatient even if you asked him to explain the same thing 10 times. His power points, paired with information from the book, were very helpful. Gives out study guides for exams which was great. This class is difficult but don't feel discouraged. You CAN get an A if you work hard.

Most likely my favorite class I have ever taken. Dr. Wuertzer is a wonderful professor - always offered his assistance and gave us all the necessary materials to succeed. The only thing keeping you from getting an A is the time you put in outside class. Use the resources provided and go to him for any help. He is awesome! And pretty handsome. :-)

Awesome teacher! Everyone says Anatomy is really difficult but he made it so much easier. Is really knowledgeable and really helpful. Just need to be willing to put in the extra time studying and it is easy!

Awesome Professor! Anatomy is a HARD subject, so get ready to study, but you could not ask for a better professor. I also took Human Bio with him and will be taking Bio 143 with him next semester. That tells you how good he is. NSEC is your friend.

Wonderful professor, really wants you to learn. Tough course but he is so helpful and wants you to succeed. I will be taking a second course with him, he is also funny!

You cannot pass this class without putting in the hours. And by hours I mean a lot. I don't believe it is just with him as a professor. There is a lot of material to learn and not a lot of time.

Dr. Wuertzer was by far the best professor I have ever had. He was always clear about what was due, offered his help continuously, and is incredibly knowledgeable. If I could take another class with him, I would in an instant. I took him for both 142 & 143. His teaching really inspired me, I hope I'm lucky enough to have a professor like him again.

Dr. Wuertzer is a wonderful professor and is very conscientious. He is patient and will explain things to you and encourages questions. I took Anatomy and Physiology with him and would recommend him highly! I wish he taught Micro!

I love Wuertzer! Anatomy is obviously a tough course but he knows his stuff and is always more than willing to help when you need it. This class is fast paced and the tests are hard but he tells you exactly what to expect so there is no surprises. Just study hard, do your connect assignments, visit the NSEC and you should have no problem at all:)

Professor Wuertzer was my best professor this semester. He is organized, helpful, and very knowledgeable about the subject. He made anatomy enjoyable. This class is tough, but its definitely worth it. I don't regret choosing him as my professor at all.

IF you put in the time, you will do okay. This is a really tough class and Professor Wuertzer will do what you need him to do to help clarify anything. Make sure from day 1 you put in as MUCH time as possible to study both lecture and lab material. You can ask him the same question a million times and he will do whatever he can to help answer.

Chuck is a solid lecturer and knows his material inside out. Expect to take a lot of notes and/or read a lot. There are lots of assignments but they are all for an effort grade. You need to study hard for this kind of content and it can't fall all on the professor.

Dr. Wuertzer is an exceptional professor! Has a very structured class and schedule which is extremely helpful. Anatomy & Physiology is going to be hard no matter where you take it, this class requires a lot of time and effort, but he is always willing to help you and explain things over and over and over if you don't get it. Nice and understanding!

I like that he has a deep understanding on the subject but I dislike how he reads off the powerpoint slides when we are in the lecture hall. It kinda makes me feel like reading the chapters and doing the connect assignments is a waste of time.

The class material is HARD however Dr Wuertzer always makes a great effort to be available for any extra help that is needed. He is very approachable and takes time to review information as needed

He is very smart, fast grader, has online assignments graded for completion only which is helpful and nice (brings grade up). I would definitely chose this professor again... the course will be hard wherever you take it, study from day one...

intelligent, patient, will grade things promptly, online assignments, no extra credit, read chapter powerpoints for in class exams. course has a lot of information so study from day one. he's honest and quite serious if you ask him certain things. helpful outside of class. i took him 2 semesters in a row and enjoyed his class.

Dr. Wuertzer is extremely knowledgable, friendly, & caring. He genuinely wants his students to succeed. He has a large window of availability outside of class time, answers emails to questions promptly &makes sure you grasp concepts if you inquire. As long as you re-read the powerpoints, do the study guides/quizzes/MB, you will get a good grade.

Great Professor. A&P is a lot of info, but follow along during lecture and study from the power point slides he provides and you will get an A. He is a quick grader. Fun labs every week that help to assimilate the information.

He's great! I had him for two semesters in a row and got As on both classes. If you take him you will have a good year of A&P classes. He's very helpful and cute. Also, his voice is like Mike from Monster's Inc.

As long as you study, you will pass this class. He doesnt put things on exams that are not explained on his PowerPoint presentations. There are many extra resources through Connect that are extremely useful and helpful in learning the material. He is always willing to help and more than willing to answer any questions that you have.

For anyone taking this class for the first time, it can be intimidating like it was for me. It's easy to want to blame the professor's teaching methods for receiving a lower grade than expected, even after putting effort in. If you stay focused on understanding his powerpoints as well as going through connect assignments ,carefully,you can do well.

Dr. Wuertzer is extremely organized; he makes his expectations clear at the start of the semester, and if you follow along with the course schedule, you can ace the class. A & P is hard, there's no way around that, but Dr. Wuertzer makes the info accessible and easy to understand. There are no surprises, you just need to do your part and study!

Great professor that knows a lot about A&P.

An INCREDIBLE professor: Sets clear expectations from the start, very accessible through email and office hours, explains everything in a concise and simple manner. Tests are detailed, but his ppt lecture slides are more than enough to study from. Dry lectures, but fun labs. UTILIZE YOUR LABELING LABS! Practicums were straightforward.

I went back to school after 9 years and I only ended up with him as my professor because everyone else was waitlisted. He is on top of emails and grades assignments almost immediately. He is extremely smart and very approachable. He gives you all the tools so it's up to you to actually use them and not be lazy. A&P is very hard so it's up to you..

144 &145 He is a PowerPoint reader for his lectures but everything you need to know for the exams is in the Powerpoints. Use the study guides he gives, everything is in there. The videos he provides for the practicums are invaluable. Don't wait till a week before to study for those. A&P isn't easy but he makes time for his students.

Prof Wuertzer was great. I highly recommend him. He was very organized. His videos were great for helping learn material. Class is hard and required much studying. Study hard ad you will do good.

I had such a hard time with this course! Dr. Wuertzer was the prof I had for retaking the course and he was amazing. He was always available to meet at additional times to scheduled class time in Zoom. He was quick at answering emails. The course videos he made were great and very helpful. I would recommend him for taking BIO 144 and Bio 145.

Amazing Professor! Wuertzer was always available for help outside of class. The videos and materials provided for class were very helpful. I had him for BIO144 and BIO145 and hope I can get him for Microbiology. He really knows his stuff and really cares about student success.

Professor W is great. All class time is review. He was always available for questions outside of Zoom class. His videos were great! I liked being able to view repeated times and adjust pace. This course is a lot of work, but Prof W makes it doable.

Professor Wuertzer is amazing. I had him for Bio 144 and Bio 145. When i started Bio 144 I was struggling with the course. Wuertzer gave me a lot of suggestions for how to study and prepare for exams. My grades improved following suggestions, Now I am half way through Bio 145 with an A average. Wuertzer is Great.

Prof Wuertzer was great for Bio 144. Wuertzer provided a lot of great online material as well to supplement in class lectures. Actually, all lectures were available as pre-recorded videos in addition to videos of all lab models. This really helped with Lab Practicum. Highly recommend Wuertzer at MCC.

Professor Wuertzer was the best teacher I have ever had. Truly cares about students and goes out of his way to help. Start learning anatomy terms early and it will help through the entire course. Study the powerpoints slides he provides. All of the exam questions came from notes. Highly recommend Dr. Wuertzer for Bio 144.

I had Dr. Wuertzer this past semester. I do like his teaching style. He uses PowerPoints a lot, but they are concise, easy to follow, and are posted on blackboard so you can access them online during lecture or to print. His grading criteria is straightforward. Attendance in lab IS MANDATORY. The tests are extremely straightforward, no tricks.

Professor Wuertzer was great. He held office hours in the lab to give students access to models. The lectures were clear and straightforward. All questions on tests came directly from provided notes. There is a lot of material to learn, but it is not hard to understand. I found him approachable and clearly cared about students.

Highly recommend taking Bio 144 with Wuertzer. A lot of credit from homework assignments to help boost your grade. He gives bonus points on exams. Provided all information needed for exams. NO surprises! Very helpful during office hours. Goes out of his way to help students succeed.

I enjoyed Dr. Wuertzers class. He has an amazing depth of knowledge and pleasantly answered questions during lecture. He was always available during office hours and gave great tips on how to better prepare for tests. Returning to school after several years I am very motivated to continue my education from taking his course. I learned a lot.

Wuertzer's API course is clear and direct. It is a ton of information, but straight forward if you start early and stay on top of it. Exams come directly from notes. Lab practicals are just memorizing models, just practice and you will do fine. I had some work and family issues and Wuertzer was great at helping and being understanding.

Mr. Wuertzer is a great teacher. I enjoyed his class and would recommend that you take Bio 144 with him. It is a difficult course but Wuertzer is very helpful and explains things very well. He is also funny and I enjoyed his lectures. Labs were fun.

You must study to pass this course. When the information sheet tells you to study 25 hours a week, study 25 hours a week. Dr. Wuertzer is caring and will help you if you need it. He also will answer any question you might have.

Wuetz definitely is strict on deadlines, but besides that he's a pretty easy-going guy. The powerpoints have all the information you'll need to get an A on every test. The material can be pretty overwhelming for someone who has never taken a class like this before, but Wuertz is always happy to answer any questions.

Easy going professor. If you want a A+ very achievable if you go to lecture if not you can still pass. Lab quizzes were a breeze compared to other professor strictness with spelling. Homework assignments are minimal. Great experience

Very fair professor. As long as you study you will do fine in lab. Lecture exams are hard because there is so much info you need to know but overall, the class is very doable. Professor W. is a good professor. He explains things well for all the information you need to know.

Overall a good professor. Cares about students, very generous with bonus points. I found it hard to focus in class. Slides are full of information which is good for studying, but in class, he reads them word-for-word with little elaboration which is personally not how I learn best. He is a nice person though. Exams and HW amount are also fair.

Professor Wuertzer is amazing! Grades super fast often same day as test. He is a very nice and caring professor and was very helpful at the NSEC. He has excellent Lab videos. I think he is the only professor that have videos of him giving tour of models. Highly recommend.

I had Mr. Wuertzer for both BIO 144 and BIO 145 and he was great for both courses. His lectures are clear gives the information very straight forward manner. He is fun in class and in lab. Every Lecture Exam has bonus credit assignments and he "spots" you a question on each lab quiz. I wish I could take him for Microbiology.

Doctor Wuertzer was great. I had a fun time in lab and he provided so many online study tools and videos that although difficult course I was able to succeed. He also gives a lot of great study tips and ways to remember material. I realey enjoyed the class.

A great Professor for a tough class. Prof Wuertzer was excellent at explaining material. Bonus credit assignments available for every exam and bonus point on every lab Practicum. I went to office hours a few times and he is very caring and gave excellent studying tips. I would highly recommend him for Bio 144. Hopefully he will be teaching Bio 145.

Probably one of the best classes I've ever taken. Not only are the in-person lectures detailed, but archived on Brightspace for later use if you want to slow things down and go at your own pace. Graded assignments were crafted intentionally to simultaneously create study material for exams. I'm very sad he's not teaching BIO 145!

He was great at answering questions. Bio 144 is a difficult class, but Prof Wuertzer made it doable.

Prof Weurtzer was truly caring for all of his students. He gave extra review in lab and was willing to answer any questions. His tests were multiple choice and fairly straightforward. He even gave us extra credit for showing up to lecture on the last day before spring break!

Professor Wuertzer is the best professor I have had at MCC. PowerPoints are clear and contain all the info you need for exams. Every test and lab practicum had bonus points. He was always super friendly and approachable. Lab pract videos are key to ace lab pract exams. He also had practice lab practicums. Lecture exams were straight forward.

Dr. Wuertzer was a great for BIO 144 and beyond. He is very caring and always very helpful. I learned so much in BIO 144 and although not having him for Bio145 I have gone to NSEC when he is there. His explanations are very clear and I believe I learn the material better from him than my actual BIO 145 professor. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Wuertzer was a great professor for Micro. Hybrid class with lecture delivered through recorded lectures. Fun labs and Dr. Wuertzer sent out weekly encouraging announcements that helped with the Summer pace. The main challenge with the course was keeping up with fast summer schedule. Just the right amount of assignments and useful study guides.

Took BIO202 as a 5 week summer course. Prof Wuertzer did a great job getting through the material in such a short time. The class website can be hard to navigate but the lectures are pretty well structured. Also lab was super fun and interesting

I had him for 144 & 145. This course is HARD, you absolutely need to prepare & take the time to understand. Just showing up to class isn't enough. Ppl have negative things to say about A&P professors, but it's because it's a hard class that REQUIRES personal time to understand. He was great in providing material to help us understand and study with

I liked Professor Wuertzer. The class itself is hard but he gives blackboard lectures along with his in class lectures to help cover material. He tells you in the beginning that it's a very time consuming class you will be studying A LOT. He's a very fair grader. Make sure to ask him questions if you're unsure about something !

I really liked his class. He assigned the necessary material and isn't afraid to answer all your questions. He assigns enough for you to understand but so much so where your just catching up on assignments. I took his class twice a week including my lab within those two days and I was fine .Good Luck!

Lectures are recorded and put onto Brightspace with corresponding assignments. Deadlines are fair, grading is good although exams are tough. This class is HARD regardless of your professor, so be prepared to study the recommended time and then some. He comes off unapproachable, but that subsides as the semester progresses. Put in the work!
