Charn is a great teacher. he lays all the material out in an easy to understand way, and offers to go out of his way to help his students. while it is an easy course i learned so much. his exams are everything he taught in class which makes them easy.

Amazing prof. I always loved going to his class, he kept it fun, let us know exactly what was on tests. He cares about all of his students and wouldn't hesitate to go out of his way to help anyone out.

Charn has a ton of interesting on the job stories to compliment the textbook subject matter. It means alot more coming from someone who has been out there on the job sharing real life expirences opposed to someone just reading from a book. Char also goes out of his way to make sure everyone is sucessful, even offering to meet outside of school.

Great teacher. Tells you everything that will be on midterm, final, and quiz. Never makes you stay the full 3 hours and you get about a 20 minute break in the middle. A lot of great stories to make the notes more clear. Great prof!

Charn is an unreal prof. Even if you are not interested in policing, you should take this class. The lectures are never boring, his tests are a bit on the harder side. not really the material, but just, he uses EVERYTHING from the notes, so you have to put in the time to study.

So nice and keeps the class interesting.. he also reads out the questions that will be on the exams and if your able to write them down fast enough, you'll have every single question that will be on the test ! I ended up getting 102% on one of the tests because of the bonus questions ! highly reccomend !!

kingra made sure everyone has a smile on their face when they leave. he made the class fun and his storys are really funny. everyday when i walked out of the class i always have a smile. thanks to kingra he always made my day happy. i would love to take another class with him. He's so personable and friendly! He makes everyone feel valued, an experience I've never had with a prof. He's a very easy marker as well. Buy the textbook though. I didn't and it and I struggled on the second midterm as a result.

Charn was/is my favorite prof thus far. He's hilarious, clear in his teachings and has many personal experiences working as a police officer which he readily applies in his teachings. Lets you know exactly what to expect on exams and gives great feedback on papers. Monday mornings at 830am were totally worth it!!

If given the chance, definitely take Charn's class! He's hilarious & teaches the reality of policing. I looked forward to class everyweek! Will go out of his way to help his students- definitely a good contact to keep for the future! Get a head start on his paper though!

Best criminology professor! He knows how to teach concepts and theories by applying them to real life examples. I would recommend taking his class whether you are in the crim program or not. He grades fairly and wants his students to succeed. To be honest, I would re-take the class just to attend the lectures again!

Charn is an amazing guy, his lectures are inspiring and captivating. He understands life is more than just school and tests etc. His tests are word for word his lecture slides. I memorized every single lecture note and ended up with 98% in the class. This is an easy class to get in an A because you know exactly what will be on the test.

Looking forward to classes was something I hadn't experienced until taking Crim251 with Charn. He doesn't post lecture notes so you need to go to class and write notes. But you will love every minute of it. Very inspirational, and learned alot about myself and life, aside from course work.

Charn has been one of the profs I can come to even after I have finished the class. Not only does he try to make his lectures interesting, he makes sure that his students don't fall behind. He has definetly set the bar high and hope that he can teach other courses so I can retake his class!

Very clear on what he expects from you, and a fair marker. This is MUST TAKE class. As easy as and lenient he may seem, do not take him for granted because you will miss out on bonus marks, non-academia wisdom, and most importantly his hilarious jokes. My only advice is when you're in his class, MAKE SURE YOU LISTEN TO EVERYTHING, (EXAM Q'S GIVEN)

Honestly the best professor and human being I have met. Not only does he teach the subject with passion. He truly cares for his students. Charn is one of my fave profs at UFV. He is so passionate and his lectures are interesting as he brings up current cases in the community. So easy to talk to and truly cares about his students. His exams are easy as long as you study! Gives great feedback on papers. Could listen to him lecture for hours as he makes them so interesting!

All the reviews are accurate-he's a great prof and his integrated stories from his policing career and personal life are so interesting. Exams based on lecture material are hit or miss sometimes questions are pulled out of the depths of the discussions. Clear guidelines on the paper, easy to get close to full marks just following his guidelines!

If I could, Id take this class over and over again. Charns lectures are so interesting because he shares so many of his personal experiences. He truly cares about his students and wants to see you succeed. He will always be there for you. I highly reccommend taking this class because you will learn so much even beyond law enforcement. Charn is the nicest and most caring professor I have ever had. I took his class near the beginning of my degree, and no professor has come close as I approach the end of my degree. Charn has shared some very meaningful stories and life philosophies that I still carry with me 2/3 years later. I would recommend his class to anyone.

Amazing class and would definitely take it again! He loves to talk about his personal life and experiences; can happen to go off on tangents. The exams are super easy and straightforward he will often give out questions that will be on the exam. There is minimal reading, willing to work with students if there is a problem or outside help needed.

This professor is incredibly caring and sweet, he genuinely cares about his students success. He can go on rants but I find the rants relate to the course material and it makes me remember the content better since it his experience of being an officer, which I loved hearing about, it was very insightful. Charn is one of the best Crim profs in UFV. He will teach you the real life of being a police officer. he is so inspirational and he cares about his students a lot. You need to listen to him during class and you'll do good on the exams. I enjoyed his leadership reflection and statement assignment and his final paper is not that hard to do.
