One of the best teachers ever. Was nominated this year for a teaching excellence award. Very funny and nice. Too french looking to be hot.
There is ALOT of reading, 4 books. He is a very good prof and keeps lectures interesting. His quizzes on the books are a little annoying and tricky, I suggest you make notes when reading throughout the books, it may be helpful. Study his power point slides and you will do great!
He was a very good prof. He was creative in his teaching style, using group work, twitter and blogging. He used lots of youtube videos to get his point across which made the class more interesting. He engaged the class in discussions and fun activities to illustrate points, concepts or terms we had to learn.4 Tests study his wording on the slides.
A very good prof! The lectures are very general and so are his quizzes, but that's what you get for trying to sum as much information into a one double-lecture on Saturday. The quizzes are really easy and he tries to help as much as he can by sending the topics that are important a few days before by email, very creative use his blog and twitter too
Best prof to have for my first semester in university. If you showed up to lectures, took notes from the power points and the text book then you will own his exams. Being a 3 1/2 class it only felt like an hour with him because he kept you interested. I'll surely be looking to take a class with him again!
Fabulous Professor. Cares that the students do well. Engaging speaker. Very fair marker. I will be looking for other courses that he teaches.
great prof. he is really nice
Dr. Remillard is a great teacher. He made this class really interesting. The exams were easy, as long as you do required readings. He is a fair marker which is nice. Make sure you write the essay exactly how he instructed and you will do well. I wish I had more professors like him. I will definitely take any class he is teaching.
Quirky, really funny, and reasonable. Great class!
make sure you attend all his lectures and participate in all his labs, study his power point slides,he is very funny and engaging, and he is there to help you out and clarify things
Love his class and its on a saturday, this guy is awesome. Attend his classes and you will definitely get rewarded (added 10% to quizzes of people who attended a lecture once) very easy to understand and relatable to your everyday life
He is awesome .. I really liked his class .. I would totally recommend his class
Super guy. He made the same communications theory class exciting (the third time we have to take in it out degree, not my third time). I would recommend him if you are looking for an incredibly intelligent articulate prof, not if you are looking for an easy A
Dr. Remillard is definitely one of the best professors I've ever met. He truly wants you to succeed. Very fair marker and amazingly entertaining speaker. This class was a fun GPA booster. Can't wait to take more classes with him!
Perfect prof! He definitely knows what he is teaching and is excellent at it. Didn't have that much workload and still ended up with an A-. I'd definitely recommend to take his class, not only for a good grade but also you learn something that you can use in the real world. (e.g. resumes, cover letter, proper way of writing) xD
What an awesome guy, I could hang out with him all day. Kept lectures engaging, and kept us laughing. Pretty hard markers on essays but picks interesting topics so it's not painful to put in the extra work. I hope to have another class with him someday!
Second class I've taken with him, and yet again I was amazed by his teaching instruction. If I could take every COMS class with him, I definitely would. He makes course content understandable, and interesting. He keeps the class engaged. Dr. Remillard is fair marker, if you study and complete the assignments then you'll get the mark you deserve.
I liked his lectures a lot and found them very useful. But when it comes to marking the assignments, it is hardly clear what he expects from you. Also, he is very tardy with communication. He never replied back any email inquiries sent, which can get frustrating after the second time. Even though he is a good prof I wouldn't recommend him.
Makes the lectures interesting but when it comes to assignments, he becomes unclear. Does not clearly explain what he expects, and rarely replies to emails with full details. Harsh marker especially since his expectations are not clear. Steer clear if possible.
Chase is a really cool guy and he was able to make my 2 hour long night lectures interesting, however, when it comes to assignments he is not very clear on what he expects. He would never fully explain our big assignments until like 2 days before it was due which was a little frustrating. He is kind of a harsh marker but overall a decent prof.
Chase is an excellent prof that explains concepts thoroughly! He happily explains concepts that are confusing to students. He is the only prof I can listen to for three hours. Loved him in first year and still do in my last year of coms!
Chaseten is an amazing professor. He is very funny, makes boring content relatable for students and helps with whatever he possible can. He is fairly vague on assignments, but offers opportunities to make up grades that students don't like and really is just an overall awesome guy. Apparently girls think he's gorgeous too, so there's that.
Chase is awesome but doesn't specify expectations AT ALL. Don't expect an A+ either, you will have to work your tail off for even a B+. Don't bother emailing, he never responds. Also a very slooooow marker. All that said, he's extremely smart, charming and engaging - his lectures are really easy to sit through.
First of all, he's an amazing lecturer. His lectures are detailed, he gives you an adequate amount of time to take notes, and he's funny. However, his assignments are extremely unclear. Some of his assignments don't tell you anything, and he marks really hard on them. Take it if you don't mind getting a B or A- instead of an A.
I took a spring course with him, and it was great! Very useful course and Chase does an excellent job at teaching this course. Assignment instructions are vague, BUT MAKE SURE YOU GO AND TALK TO HIM BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR ASSIGNMENT. He literally tells you what he wants. I went from a B- in my 1st assignment to all A's. TALK TO HIM!
Chase is great at making sure his students understand the content of the course. He is more than willing to help you get a good grade but also learn a lot from his class. This class is extremely practical and useful in the real world. I think every university student should take it!
Clear and informative. The best teacher I have had in the program. He is willing to help you when you need it. Honestly just a nice guy who treats you like a real person.
BEST PROF IN THE UNIVERSITY!!! he is so kind and understanding! he wants you to do well more than you want it for yourself! Although he is so educated in all aspects of what he teaches, he is still so open minded and not set in his way. He will encourage and understand your perspectives. My first A in uni!! Great man even greater teacher! SO FUNNY
Chaseten was very unorganized and lacked the ability to communicate even within this communications class. He would have us complete assignments and labs that had very vague instructions that lacked clear guidance. You would have to email him for clarity on all the assignments, but by then your assignment would be due and you'll lose marks over it.
Although he was responsive to emails, Chaseten was vague with what was required for assignments and labs. This was really frustrating because he marks assignments quite hard and if you interpreted the requirements the wrong way you lose a lot of marks. The assignments and labs could definitely use some clarity and were incredibly vague.
I feel like I can't rate Dr Remillard, it's more so that I'm rating the course. I had two email exchanges with him where I clarified things for the assignments because of typos, he responded promptly. Other than that it felt like the TAs were doing all the work. I also didn't totally understand the rubric used to grade assignments.
Aside from some vague assignment descriptions, the course wasn't too bad. Marks very tough though.
Great stuff! Keep it up!!
Loved this course and the prof! Thanks!!
Great readings. Lots of information. Would recommend.
Absolutely useless as a prof. Do not expect this man to help you; he flat out refused to help me with an assignment, even though he was the only one with the ability to answer my questions. Marking in his class was impossible to decipher, as I lost marks on an assignment, but wasn't told how to correct my mistakes.
Online class. Put lots of effort in to make it beneficial for me. Took time to connect
Lots of independent work. But was online course. Solid feedback. I learned a lot.
Online course - tough grader but fair. I would definitely take another course with him. Answered questions quickly and gave lots of good tips
Loved the course. Was very useful for me looking for a new job. Lots of work.
Good prof. Online course. So not so much in terms of contact. Gave good advice. Set time to chat with me on the phone. Would recommend.
After reading the reviews if this prof online I thought I would give him a go. Its funny how he's a prof for communications but he wont get to get back to you for anything. Questions about assignments won't be answered for up to 2 weeks. Not all of his assignments are completed. (E.g he will send you to broken web links) Final was a joke.
Not so much "tough grader" as he is a garbage grader. You get no good feedback, and when you get an assignment back not even a day later graded using docx file named "35" and you get 35 out of 40... that raises some suspicions. This guy is scum
I took this online course as a requirement. the work wasn't too difficult, but there was a lot of quizzes and labs. There's a weird grading rubric he uses, but it makes sense once you've figured it out. always answers emails quickly.
lots of quizzes in course. online course, but willing to meet with you to discuss stuff. didn't like the amount of labs and quizzes. grading was ok, mostly grammar and formatting - but its a writing course.
fine. online course. what do you want?
not much to say. online course. decent textbook. answers email quickly. seemed fair grader.
this guy answers emails quickly and even on the weekend - my experience. fair grades; not a lot of feedback
This class rocks!
Loved this course. Great feedback. Lots of quizzes and stuff. Glad I took it.
Bit of a tough grader but fair. I think I would take another course. Answered emails quickly and gave good advice
Fantastic. Well worth it.
The assignments and labs feel like busy work instead of anything relevant. Other COMS 363 lectures had to write project proposal letters and our class pretended to be a wedding planner. The grading rubric is ridiculously complicated. Not a hard class but I hated most of it. Content can be useful but the assignments just felt so irrelevant.
First off he makes you buy a textbook so he can use their useless exam bank. The way he marks the assignments is completely unreasonable. Expects your writing to be perfect. His marking is also inconsistent with the textbook. Students taking your class aren't communications experts, that's why they are in an intro class. Grade them accordingly.
Gives you no direction whatsoever as to what to expect in the start of the class, no lectures or lecture material at all and didn't give any instruction when it came to what was on the quizzes. Rely fully on the textbook.
Good class
Lots of assignments. Not hard
Great class
Lots of work. Well organized.
The quizzes are often marked incorrectly; you can select an answer that is word-for-word what the textbook says and it will occasionally be marked wrong. Instructions for assignments and the wording of quiz questions are often unclear and confusing; not good for a course about writing concise and coherent messages. Nothing but boring readings.
Quizzes are easy and only worth .5 percent! You get to bank grades with little effort. Labs are easy! Get a 100 percent on them no matter what!
I wish people would realize that this course is supposed to be easy! Just follow the instructions, email the guy, and ask questions. I did that and got a wicked mark.
Very responsive to emails. Gives good advice on assignments.
good.
Had a few conversations with this guy over Zoom. He's really personable and actually pretty funny.
It almost feels like he has a specific example in his mind that he thinks should be the right answer but the instructions do not have enough information for students to get to it. Also, he can get very passive-aggressive about your comments which makes it harder to learn. This is ironic since it is a communications class... If offered by him, run!
Although the grading outline is clear, the prof on numerous occasions takes it upon himself to deduct marks due to the most obscure and irrelavent reasons. I understood the course completely and practiced the techniques taught, I was confident that I was going to get a B minimum. I would love to take this course again but not with this prof again!
Entirely asynchronous. No lectures. The textbook is your teacher. You won't hear or see Remillard unless you contact him directly. Not helpful in email responses, reductive and unempathetic. Quizzes have blatantly obvious mistakes. Lectures are dated from years ago. Clearly not interested in teaching, just cashing a cheque. Avoid at all costs.
Avoid. He is out of touch and often times uninformed about what's going on in his own course. He changes the requirements on assignments without notice and with seemingly no logical reasoning. He's uninterested, uninformed and a terrible excuse for a teacher. AVOID.
Don't listen to the folks that say this isn't a good prof. It's an online course. You have to do a lot of learning on your own. AND it's about grammar and writing. Not a great combination.
lots of work in the course. I think it was a good one. prof is responsive to emails. easy to connect with if you want some further advice. do the assignments as described and you'll get a good mark.
decent prof. lots of work from the textbook. i would say it's a course that you can do easily if you put a bit of effort in. some people wanted more connection, but its an online nonsychronous course. so, that's the tradeoff.
lots of work. fair grading.
It is tiresome to see profs get roasted on this site. This guy gave me a good grade. I had no issues. The one review that is bad below is for a course the prof didn't even teach in 2021. That tells you a bit about the people posting negative comments. Do the work in the class and ask questions and you will be perfectly fine in the course.
Got to pick our own teams. Good class.
Very kind, caring professor, truly cares about students and is super compassionate. I learnt so much in the class and it didn't feel like a chore. A gem of a prof.
LOVED THIS CLASS
Couldnt be better
One of the best profs I have ever had, by far. He is literally the sweetest and most caring professor and knows how to really make the class so much more interesting. He CARES about his students and want them to succeed. I would take him for every class if I could!
He really is a prof I wish taught all my classes. his online classes provided insightful life experiences, as well as a clear class outlines and detailed assignment marking rubrics. A very fair marker as well with midterms/exams. One of the few profs who made group projects really enjoyable for me. Highly recommend
Had a really hard time with writing but Dr Remillard actually made grammar easy and fun
He was awesome! He was very encouraging and gives you great feedback on your few assignments but they play a very important part in your professional development
Fairly straightforward course. Decent all around.
Had a wonderful class this semester, got to learn a lot about advance communications
He is not so special. Grades havent been back after more than a month. All the recent comments look like being posted by the same person btw.
Fantastic.
Literally the best Proff known to man. takes the time to provide great example , does not waste your time, Provides great slides on D2l, very understanding, every single student will have an amazing experience! highly recommend this class
Had a hard time with COVID this term. This prof was great. Let me hand things in with an extension. I really appreciated the flexibility. The material is ok. But the prof is great.
Didnt like the course material but it was a requisite. Prof was good
Replies to student emails quickly. Returns student marks quickly. Provides good feedback. Helpful and flexible to help students. Lectures are clear and well organized. His speech and thought patterns are logical. Is realistic in how much students can do within given tasks. He is genuinely passionate about learning and teaching. He is a great
I really enjoyed the prof; his friendliness and knowledge for his subject area. I had the misfortune of taking this class during COVID19, however, the Prof was an accommodating - fair grader. Assignments are easy
Genuinely one of the kindest, most understanding people you will ever meet. He is super easy to talk to and he never talks down to his students. He gives great guidance on projects and is great to bounce ideas off of. 10/10
Knows his stuff and is very laid back when he wants to be. Pushes you to do your best, but you will be glad he did come the final paper.
This is by far one of the most difficult classes that I have taken, but the Prof is very helpful. Read the textbook, take notes and do what he says and you will be fine. Don't wait until the last minute to write the paper
I had heard goos stuff about him before so I was looking foreward to the class. He is really easy going and willing to work with you as long as you put in the effort. All around a nice guy and really likes what he is doing. He made me enjoy writing
Dr. Remillard filled in for another prof for my ACWR303 class and he was great! He has clear rubrics of what he expects and is a fair grader. He gives excellent and thorough feedback on assignments and you know what to improve on for next time. I would 100% take another class with him if given the chance!
I am not that good at writing and I still got a good mark in this class. His notes are good for improving your writing. He does not provide direct line-by-line feedback for the big writing assignments, but he was willing to give feedback and tips over Zoom if you reach out to him.
The professor is very caring and understanding. His marking is not difficult and it is very clear what is expected of you. Not only was he accessible outside of class but he was flexible with deadlines as well. I had a family emergency and he was accommodating towards my situation which meant a lot to me. He is a great professor. Take this class!
I am an English as a second language student and I find it very difficult to take his class. Every time I see the feedback he gives us, it gives me a feeling like I'm a professional writer and writing a professional book. He is a really hard grader although he is responsible and willing to help students. Taking his class gave me a lot of pressure.
Great class. Lots of work. Tough grader. Easy to connect with on Zoom or email.
Dr R was the most helpful professor I had in my career as a student. He really goes the extra mile to make sure you understand his assignments.
Discussed with others, he starts strong with videos and decent instructs. However part why though it becomes no feedback and no instructions. I don't really feel like I'm being taught anything at all.
Hate this guy. If he doesn't like the way you worded something say goodbye to some points! He sent an email saying "Hello," isn't an acceptable way to address him. If you got a bad group for a project say goodbye to the chance of an easy fix, Either do it by yourself or suck it up cause he's going to make joining a different group an absolute pain.
lots of work in the course. I think it was a good one. prof is responsive to emails. easy to connect with if you want some further advice. do the assignments as described and you'll get a good mark.
Very good prof! Straightforward notes, easy assignments, and the midterm was fair. Final was a bit harder though.
As a science major I was dreading taking this class. By the end of the semester it was one of my favorite classes I took that semester. A large amount of readings but none of them are difficult. Had a group project that was super easy.
Dr. R is a really good prof. watch EVERY lecture, keep up with his notes, read the textbook chapters he assigns, and you'll ace his quizzes.
While the professor seems to be nice at first glance, he's pretty condescending through emails (asked us to head all our emails with Dear Dr. Remillard). Regardless, his grading is brutally difficult and he docks off marks for the most minor infractions. Even if your assignment is perfect, you'll start with 75- going higher requires bonuses.
Not only was he accessible outside of class but he was flexible with deadlines as well. He is a great professor. Take this class!
Dr. R is one of the most sincere and intelligent profs I have ever met. he has helped me grow as an academic more than any of the other professors at the University of Calgary.
Has clear guidelines and test material. Tried his best to make it fun and interactive for an asynchronous class. Willing to listen to his students.
Dr. R is a fantastic professor, one of the best IMHO. His lectures are informative. Assignments and tests are reasonable/realistic as they mimic real world situations.
Respectfully a good prof. He tries to make the content as creative and inspiring as possible The tests are based of the textbook submission of lab matters bc it would boost your grade a lot, or drag your grade way down (like mine).
Super useful course.
best prof I've ever had. He's caring and pushes you to work hard and do your best. You learn a lot in his course
While Dr. R's grading is incredibly difficult to the point of being unreasonable, he gives a lot of opportunities for you to nonetheless improve your grade. Most importantly he genuinely cares for his students. When we pointed out fallacies in his grading, he was more than happy to listen, and reached out to help students reach their grade goals.
good class. I wanted a higher grade and politely reached out. He was open to helping me improve my mark. I heard from other students he did the same. always responded to emails quickly, sometimes within minutes.
This guy expects too much from students required to take this online asynchronous course. He's one of the hardest grading professors I've ever had despite giving very little detail for what he wants. Will dock marks for the absolute smallest things and it seems to be impossible to get over 75%.
His knowledge of professional communications is vast and his ability to convey it to his students is impressive. He's patient, kind, and always willing to help. Professor R is hands down the best professor I've had at this university.
His lectures are decentd. He's also approachable and easy to talk to, which makes seeking his help a breeze.
I loved his class! He's enthusiastic about the subject matter and it shows. He's also very organized, which made the class run smoothly. I learned so much from him and would take his class again in a heartbeat.
He goes out of his way to make sure we understand the material and is always available for questions or concerns. I can't recommend him enough - truly cares about his students.
His class was one of the most enjoyable and informative ones I've taken. He breaks down complex concepts into easy-to-understand parts and gives clear examples to illustrate them.
He's able to connect with his students and make the class feel like a community - even though online. I loved being in his class and would highly recommend him to anyone. Not only knowledgeable, but he's also passionate about his subject matter.
Professor R holds students to high standards & can be a tough grader, but his focus on language & precision in professional writing is invaluable. He pushed me to become a better writer & I appreciated the high standards. I highly recommend his class if you're serious about improving.
Dr. R is committed to ensuring all students understand the material. Although some may find him strict, I appreciated the structure he brought to the course. His assignments were rigorous, but ultimately rewarding. I highly recommend him for a challenging academic experience
I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a challenging but fulfilling academic experience
Dr. Remillard is a fantastic prof and has clear outlines on how to succeed in his class. He is always willing to help if you have any questions, and is very passionate about writing.
Mandatory for my major. Textbook is questionable, but Dr. R is excellent at reorganizing concepts logically. Grading criteria are explained clearly, but tough on written work. Looking for an easy GPA booster? Take something different.
A useful class and a good professor, course being online speaks for itself but it was one of the better online courses I took. If you have any experience in a company or "professional" setting this course will be a breeze. Most of the assignments are writing up a response to a general situation using proper language.
For his online course, he doesn't clearly outline what's expected for each assignment. He takes off marks randomly, such as for 'spacing' in a paragraph that looks the same as all other paragraphs. It's like he is taking off marks arbitrarily so you cannot get above a certain grade. He also cannot follow his own writing rules for his d2l content.
He has possibly the worst communication I've experienced in a class, pretty embarrassing for a class which is about professional communication. Multiple announcements were copy and pasted from old semesters without even changing dates, quizzes had wrong questions which he told us he already knew about before the quizzes started but left them in.
He give zero efforts in communicating requirements in class. He cuts marks for no legitimate reasons, and tries to act like his communication degree is important in the real world. His replies to emails and feedbacks are grammatically incorrect. His quizzes have no punctuation, are wrongly worded. One of the worst professors in UofC.
Sets high bar for his students and isn't afraid to be demanding in grading, yet his emphasis on language mastery and exactness in the realm of professional writing is truly priceless. I genuinely cherished his rigorous standards. I wholeheartedly endorse enrolling in his class if you are dedicated to enhancing your abilities.
Dr. R is an outstanding educator, elevating my writing skills to new heights with his high standards and passion for precision. Highly recommend!
Dr. R's class was okay; he had high expectations and focused on precision, which was challenging. It helped improve my writing, but it was tough.
His strict standards and precision-oriented approach improved my writing. His responsiveness to emails was a helpful aspect of the course. Worth considering if you're committed to improvement.
Beneficial. While his unrealistic formatting expectations were challenging, they improved my skills. His use of real-world scenarios added practical value.
Mandatory for my major. Textbook is questionable, but he is excellent at reorganizing concepts logically, as well as tying them to realistic assignments. Grading criteria are explained clearly, but he's tough on written work. Looking for an easy GPA booster? Take something different
Easy class for me. Loved it. Grade booster.
Worked really hard in his course. Got a great grade. He literally took an hour to go over an assignment with me and my group so we could get it right. Very helpful and just a nice guy.
This class is important for what I'm learning in school. The book we use might be a little confusing, especially for me since English is not my first language, but my teacher is really good at making everything make sense.
This class has some areas to improve, but offers a chance to learn and grow as a writer. The prof encourages us to develop skills that go beyond the classroom.
In his online course, he provides clear expectations for each assignment. He assigns grades fairly, without deducting points for minor issues like spacing in paragraphs. It's evident that he follows his own writing rules meticulously in his D2L content.
Helps students understand the material. Decent vibe to the course.
He was the most helpful professor I had in my time as a student. He really goes the extra mile to make sure you understand his assignments.
Was great! Was a bit more difficult of the coms classes but really put in effort to ensure we understand the material. The group work were all relevant to the projects and were helpful.
Pretty chill prof. Not a free A but you'll get a good grade if you put in the work. Learned a lot about writing and stuff
I got like 95 percent overall and always had no isssues meeting with the professor. People I know who get bad marks in this class just do t do anything. He literally gives you all the possible errors you can get wrong on each assignemnt. And the quizzes are pretty much a guaranteed 100 percent.
does not give good feedback and grades super hard.
Come prepared to work with Dr R and it'll pay off with an A! There are clear grading criteria for all assignments, take the time to edit your papers to align with them for easy marks. Don't use AI, you WILL be caught. Course was required for me, but if you want a GPA booster, this is NOT the class. It is a lot of work if you want an A. Great Prof!
grades very hard and does not respond to emails on time. hard course
should not take this class as a gpa booster
extremely hard grading and difficult class
His online guidance is engaging, clear, and supportive, with accessible office hours and helpful feedback. Highly recommended
The course is just a bit unorganized, and the prof can be nitpicky when grading. The assignments still had averages of 80% tho. If the incorrect quiz questions would be fixed and the grading criteria was a bit more clear (instead of an 18 page doc) then the course would be better. Simple enough to pass if you put in some work into the assignments.
Overall good prof and solid course. Took online over the summer so didn't have much interaction but was responsive to emails and seemed friendly enough. Easy to do fairly well if you follow his detailed rubrics. Slowish grading sometimes but ig that's what a large summer class will do. Quizzes are freebies!
Overall, a reasonable class and a decent professor. The suggested readings are time consuming but only important for a small percentage of your grade. Pay close attention to the grading rubric and advanced grading notes for any assignments. He can be picky when grading but everything he takes marks off for are clearly stated in the rubric.
Course was disorganized; you can tell he got his course material from a previous COMS class because there was conflicting information in the outline(i.e., quizzes were listed as being on Thursdays, then on the next page, it said Fridays; quizzes were supposed to be 10 questions & ended up being 25; there were also problematic quiz questions too..)
Terrible Professor. Rate my prof is boosted, just reading the 5star ratings made it obvious. Course in an unorganized mess and the grading system is a disaster. I have a hard time respecting a communication class that wants you to talk like an incompetent robot.
Expect a bit of a grind in this class, but you'll learn a lot if you put in the work. unstuckstudy and the free textbook are great study aids. Just don't rely on AI for assignments - the prof is strict on that.
Is a super bad marker. Marking is not consistent and often does not follow the rubric. Assignment information is spread across multiple documents and hidden. It makes it extremely hard to get a good mark because he marks on whatever he feels is "right" that day. Often quotes the textbook to deduct marks on something not in the textbook.
Completely useless course, but it is a degree requirement. All of the quizzes and information is directly out the textbook, he does not teach anything new, and his "lectures" are a joke. Does not give constructive feedback, and is super nitpicky about assignments. Avoid him at all costs, take this course with any other professor.
The bar was set in the dirt for my expectations for this course, and yet he still failed to meet them. Class was poorly organized, and for a COMMUNICATIONS prof, he is doing a tragic job at communicating. Multiple due dates for assignments and quizzes and vague and late email responses with no detail. Class could be thrown together in 1 day. Lazy.
Advertised as an asynchronous online summer class, meaning it should be work at your own pace. The day the course outline dropped, it became VERY apparent it is NOT asynchronous. 45% of the coursework is reliant on group work. Not to mention, they said q's on tests can be wrong and never to email about it, submit a Dropbox ticket instead. Crazy.
Amazing prof, don't be skewed by the last few reviews. He is brilliant and really inspiring. His teaching style is firm and quite academic, so the expectations are high. His class is super interesting, and his examples to reinforce concepts are really relevant.
