Professor Tiernan was adorable and informative. She does little online polls during class to make it more participative. I had to miss this class a lot due to a car accident and medical emergencies, and was still able to pass. Online homework is easy, and so long as you do the study guide so are the tests. Overall a very nice professor.

She was a great professor overall and I really enjoyed the class! There's only one homework assignment a week and it is online. She really cares that everyone understands the information (even though it is all pretty easy.) She also is pretty funny!

She was AWESOME! I 100000% recommend her to any one taking BMS courses at GVSU. She gave detailed instructions of what to study for the in class lab quizzes which was a LIFESAVER. She also is willing to go above and beyond to help you. AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME, take her!!!!

Professor Tiernan was a GREAT lab instructor. I would recommend her for any class because you can tell she truly cares. She made the material enjoyable. Go to her office hours she helps a lot!!!!!

She really cares about her students and makes sure to cover exactly what will be on exams. She is good about adding fun facts and other things to help make lectures interesting.

Great lab prof she gives so many helpful tips. Lectures can be a little long for a lab but at the end of the day they're worth it. Lab is solely based off of prelab quizzes, midterm practical, final practical, and online hw. Totally possible to get an A you just have to put in some work but prof tiernan definitely makes it more probable than others

A really great professor for BMS 250. She is clear and concise about what she expects from you, and if you put the effort in, you'll be fine. Tough class, but a very good professor.

I had Chelsea for lab and she was honestly more knowledgeable than my lecture prof. She is so funny and actually cares that you understand the things you're exploring in lab. There is one quiz every week in lab and a prelab due. Nothing super hard. The midterm practical was easier than all the quizzes combined.

Lab quizzes every week that aren't too bad if you put in the time to study. She cares about her students and wants them to do well! She is very approachable and super nice, knows a lot about anatomy. Would highly recommend for lab!

Prof Tiernan was a pretty good prof. I had her for both my BMS 250 lecture and lab, but I liked her a little better for lab. She makes powerpoints explaining everything we need to know. We have quizzes every week on the previous lab which can be kind of hard if you don't study. She also gives post-lab APR quizzes online which can help your grade.

Loved her! Shes so nice and always willing to help. Anatomy lab is a tough class and requires a lot of memorizing so make sure you study for quizzes and you will do great!

Prof Tiernan was amazing for BMS251 lecture! Anatomy is hard and you do have to work for the grade but she makes sure you know exactly what you will be tested on. Study her powerpoints and you will do fine, never got below 90% on an exam by doing so. Chapter quizzes are online and so is the book. 3 exams, 3 in class quizzes, plus the final exam.

Prof Tiernan is amazing! She is so smart and kind. You can see how much she cares about her students' success through her teaching style and availability for extra help. Class is tough and requires a lot of work, but she makes it very manageable. Everything needed for quizzes and exams comes directly from the power points. Definitely recommend her.

Tiernan is an amazing professor. You can tell she really cares about students progress and gives you TONS of study tools and feedback. I never missed a class, and if you do, it WILL be hard to catch up. In general this class is a little difficult, but Tiernan is always there to help you!!!! 11/10 would recommend!

Hands down, the BEST professor I have ever had. Tiernan goes ABOVE AND BEYOND to help her students succeed. I had her for lecture, but not lab, and she would help me with both. She creates study worksheets, learning objectives, answers emails super quick, and genuinely cares about her students. 100% take her if you can!

This is a very hard class but she made the class so much easier. In class she lectures and you fill in blanks on the slides that she sends and the tests and quizzes are pretty much exactly what is on the slides so if you study those you will do good. She is very funny and cares a lot about our success. Take her for this class!

Professor Tiernan is a REAL GEM. Anatomy is very hard and there is no way around that, but if you take the time to attend her office hours she will take the time to help you. Attending class is definitely a necessity if you want to pass, and you will have to put in a lot of time outside of class. If you have the chance to take her, don't pass it up

Tiernan is seriously wonderful. BMS250 is a very difficult course in general, but she gives clear and easy to understand explanations. She also has helpful ways to remember things. Tests are straightforward and exactly what we talked about in lecture. Take good TB notes, attend all lectures. It's a rigorous course because anatomy is hard! Take her!

I dont have a single bad thing to say about this professor. I struggle a lot with science courses and this professor gave me hope. I got 90% on the last two exams as well as the final. She was so lenient with me when I was going through medical issues. Caring, engaging, efficient with grading, easier than normal science course, TAKE HER!!!

Wonderful experience in her class! She is very clear with expectations, and is easily available outside of class if necessary. Made my BMS 250 lab enjoyable, and not too stressful. Would highly recommend!

Professor Tiernan is AMAZING. She lectures from powerpoints and posts them all on blackboard every week. She also posts detailed learning objectives before each exam so you know exactly whats going to be on it. Tests are a little tough but if you study each powerpoint from lecture you should do good on them!

I personally loved Prof Tiernan. The class is hard, due to the content, but she gives many opportunities for help and extra practice. She truly cares about her students and wants them to succeed, however, she makes sure that you learn the material, not just memorize it. I would take her again in a heartbeat!

I absolutely loved professor Tiernan. I had her for the lab portion of BMS 250 and I would defiantly recommend her. She provides additional information for every lab that makes the practicals much easier. Very kind and will respond to emails very quickly. She never makes you feel dumb.

Absolutely take this professor for BMS100! She makes this class engaging, accessible, and interesting lectures so I would definitely recommend as a gen ed. Chelsea is very kind and encouraging in class and also very knowledgeable on the subject. Tests are right from the notes so if you do the study guides you will do great. Recommend in a heartbeat

Prof Tiernan does her best to make the class engaging and entertaining. She is so kind and genuine. Her tests are pretty close to the study guides she gives so if you pay attention and take notes in class its an easy A. Plus her lectures were interesting to attend. She does give little participation assignments but they're super easy! 10/10 recomme

Professor Tiernan was probably my favorite professor this semester. I had her for anatomy lab. She always had amazing explanations for concepts in and out of class. Lab isn't easy but if you put in the work and ask questions, you should be fine. Tiernan wants her students to succeed so don't be afraid to ask for help.

Professor Tiernan made BMS 100 such an enjoyable class! Her lectures were always interesting and easy to follow. She cares about her students a lot, which definitely showed this past semester when we had to switch to online classes. Her study guides are very helpful and she puts her lecture slides on blackboard.

She was honestly a good professor. Towards the end of the semester she stopped answering my emails. Not really any chances for extra credit. She will help you if you need it, but be prepared to study. She is very fair, if you didnt study and fail, shes not the type to feel bad, as she shouldnt. Nice teacher overall!

Really great professor! Assignments were all reasonable, and Professor Tiernan kept in contact with us and sent reminders everything. Lots of drawing diagrams in lectures which I found super helpful, and the final exam was all multiple choice. The class isn't the easiest, but Professor Tiernan made it feel more manageable, so I really enjoyed it

Dr. Tiernan is an amazing professor! She explains things in a concise but helpful way, her videos help tremendously. Her quizzes and exams are hard but manageable if you actually study. If you don't study or skim the textbook you won't pass.

There are not enough positive things I can say about Professor Tiernan. She really cares about her students and their success. She is a prof that understands that her class isn't our only one. I had her for lab and I have never enjoyed coming to lab more! I signed up for her next semester because I loved her so much.

Prof Tiernan is amazing! The class is hard, but I found her lectures and HW very helpful when studying. She also gives out reviews for exams which help too. Exam questions come straight from the lectures/homework, so you just have to study those well. I don't think I would've done as well in the class if I didn't take her.

The class itself is really hard and you have to work for your grade. But Dr T is the best Professor you can get. Her lectures are detailed and really helpful for understanding material, and she is really easy to get ahold of.

BMS250 is a hard class in general but Tiernan was an incredible prof. Lectures were descriptive, gave good examples, and was pretty good at answering questions. Exams and quizzes make up most of your grade and the content is really specific but thats how it is 250 overall. Just be prepared to work hard for this class. Tiernan is a great choice tho!

Take this professor, the class is hard, but she makes it as easy as possible. Make sure to get good grades on the homework because that will bump up your grade. She is fast at replying to emails and cares about your grade if you are struggling.

Dr. Tiernan is the best teacher you can have for A&P I. Other students taking the same class with different instructors would constantly complain about not understanding the material or having too much homework, but with her that is not the case. Homework amount is reasonably low for the subject. Tests are straight from the lecture every time.

I really liked her. Her tests were 100% based off of the learning objectives. Her ppts in lecture where also 100% based off of the learning objectives. So if you went to class, you knew the learning objectives. She is very responsive over email.

Chelsea Tiernan is an amazing professor. She is funny, organized, and incredibly intelligent. Her quizzes and tests are based directly on her lectures. She is so good at explaining, keeps things interesting, and never tries to trick students. There is a lot of outside homework, but it helps boost the grade. Show up and take her if you can!!!

By far my favorite lab instructor at GV, she gave great lectures and examples and really wants you to succeed, you just have to put the effort in. Follow/study her learning objectives and you're golden

Prof Tiernan is absolutely amazing. Her lectures are very interesting and you can tell she is very passionate about what she does. There are a lot of outside assignments, but they all help to cushion your grade. Quizzes were fare, and her exams were always to the T from her objectives. COMPLETE THE WORKSHEETS. They will save ur life!!!!

This woman is a legend. She gives great lectures w/ppts and she always gives out learning objectives which act as a study guide for everything. I love this woman and she deserves an award.

No curves in grades or drops of grades so make sure you do good. She is very knowledgeable and knows what she is teaching by heart. Quizzes and tests arent the best but you can use notes on quizzes for a certain amount of time

If you have to take A&P, make sure you get professor Tiernan! The best professor I've ever had, she is extremely clear with what she expects from you, homework is assigned way in advance so you have a lot of time to do it. Incredibly smart and respectable. Easy to communicate with outside of class, and the material is taught really well.

Tiernan is by far my favorite prof that I have had at GV! Her lectures are amazing, and she has good materials to use to study from. You don't have to read the book to do well, but I would recommend it with more difficult topics! Overall, she is a MUST take!

TAKE THIS WOMAN FOR ANATOMY. She is probably the best professor I have had at GVSU. She is a sweetheart and you can tell she enjoys what she teaches because she is so good at it! I love professor Tiernan. I had her for BMS 250 & 251, and I would STRONGLY recommend. She makes anatomy easier to understand, and is so sweet. She teaches the material so well, and exams are based directly on the objectives. I think BMS 251 was harder than 250, but Tiernan did such a good job of teaching it. I love her. The best A&P prof at GV! She is very knowledgeable and passionate about anatomy during lectures. Quizzes can be hard at times because there are a lot of written response questions but if you study the learning objectives you will be all good. Outlines what she expects from you very well and is caring towards her students.

Professor Tiernan is the BEST! I think I learned more in lab than I did in lecture because Prof. Tiernan did an amazing job of explaining the concepts clearly. She also gives you lots of helpful ways to remember certain topics which I found to be super helpful. You still have to put lots of work into the class, but she is always there to help you!

She was great for lab. She gave mini lectures that directly related to the weekly lab quizzes. You have to study but the content was not overwhelming especially if your lecture is on a similar topic

TAKE DR T!!! I took her for lecture in 250 and 251, and she is just amazing. Her lectures, powerpoints, and learning objectives provided are clear and make learning the tough concepts much easier. Super accessible outside of class. No need to read if you attend class each day. Info is challenging, but she presents in an understandable way

Do you want to pass anatomy at grand valley? TAKE CHELSEA TIERNAN. She is so nice and the reason I passed anatomy. Took Anatomy 1 and 2. To pass this class you must study LEARNING OBJECTIVES. The best study guide you could be given to pass exams.

She was an amazing professor! No matter who you have for BMS250, it is going to be a challenging class especially if you take it with lab. She made it easier and provided a lot of extra help resources. DO THE WORKSHEETS! Most of the time the worksheets will have all of the information you need for the tests and quizzes.

Dr. T is built different and you absolutely need to take her class. She was pregnant this whole semester but never missed a beat. She's a genius, organized, and so good at dumbing tough concepts down. This class is a ton of work if you want to do well, but she is very clear on what she expects and sets you up for success if you put the work in.

Dr. Tiernan was an amazing professor. Her lectures were very helpful, and although she did not take attendance, if you do not attend class then you most likely will not do good. Anatomy and physiology is a hard class, but Dr. Tiernan really helped simplify it with her PowerPoints and examples in class. I definitely recommend taking her!

If you have the option to take Dr. T do it! She is very good at dumbing things down in multiple ways so you can understand what she is teaching. She gave a clear criteria of what was expected on tests and quizzes and what to study. This class is challenging and no matter who you have you do need to put work into it every single day.

By far my fav professor at gv. Lectures are definitely hard and the concepts are hard but she has no problems simplifying it so everyone can understand. Your success is truly her top priority. She is especially helpful during office hours where you can go over quizzes and tests. Worksheets and learning objectives are incredibly helpful for tests

I love Professor Tiernan. BMS250 is easily the most content-heavy class I have ever taken but she was an amazing teacher. She provides plenty of resources for learning the material in different formats. I primarily followed the lecture objectives and got an A in the class but do not underestimate the amount of time you will spend studying.

I loved having Professor Tiernan for lab! She was very kind and informed us everything we needed to know for each week. There is a quiz every week about the lab prior and then you have a midterm and final practical. It is quite a bit to memorize, but just utilize the resources she gives you. Overall, lab was very fun and I loved what I learned.

Amazing lectures as well as informative labs. Professor Tiernan was always quick to help when needed and provided great resources through blackboard that were very organized. an amazing lecturer. lectures were mandatory however they were informational. she truly does care about her students, and makes it a point to be available for questions during lecture. anatomy is a hard class and she knows it, so she gives all students a lot of study tools and test tips! an amazing professor truly. I absolutely loved Professor Tiernan! She is so sweet and straight forward with what you need to know and what is asked of you. She provides so many resources and just wants you to succeed. Anatomy is a very difficult class and studying is crucial, however she made it so much easier through all the resources she provides, please utilize them.

Dr. Tiernan relies heavily on powerpoint slides, but she goes out of her way to explain the material in depth. She uses different words than what are on the slides in order to enhance understanding. There were mandatory readings that were due before the lecture and homework often due on Sundays. Overall I really liked her, I want her for 251.

She is absolutely incredible. Besides the very structured lectures and skeleton notes she provides, her understanding of the material and the way she explains it helps so much. She always answers questions and tries to make it as easy as possible. Quizzes + exams aren't bad! She gives you a lot to prepare with. Shes in my top 3 A+P professors!

This is my 3rd time taking a class with Dr. Tiernan and she is my favorite prof from GV! She is so sweet and wants you to do well. She encourages you to reach out and go to her office hours if you don't understand or want to review your quizzes. I absolutely adore her and would suggest everyone to take a class with her.

Best prof so far in 4 years of college, hands down. She is fun while also perfect at every aspect of being a professor. She is a neurology expert and knows the material well. Come for the informative and engaging lectures and stay for the hidden 90s references in every class. I loved every minute of them and was bummed when it was over.

She is amazing. She lectures after every lab quiz. They were so helpful if I needed an extra explanation for my lecture I would look at her powerpoints. She really shows she does not want her students to fail and she really wants us to be interested in anatomy and phys instead of it just being another core class.

Professor Tiernan was overall an amazing teacher, this class is not easy and requires a lot of studying and outside work but she does an amazing job and explaining material and nothing is ever a surprise. I had her for lab and she was very understanding and always willing to help you.

I won't lie, this is a hard class, but Dr. T makes it bearable. She truly cares about how well her students do, is accessible outside of class and provides lots of great resources for guided study. Really hope I have her again in the future!
