This teacher is awesome, it's kind of hard to get an A in her class but defintely a B. You barely do anything in her class, its an easy B.

Ms. Borman was a fabulous teacher. I never was interested in literature (especially poetry) before this class, but she got me excited about it. I especially liked e.e. cummings, which she talked about a lot. Great teacher, but you'll have to work to get an A. I recommend highly.

Great teacher!!! I loved the way she could help us see things in the poems and stories we read. There is a lot of writing (stupid Gordon rule!), but she reads everything--not like a lot of other teachers. The poetry was especially fun to read. I loved this class and would take Ms. Borman again.

I loved this class. Dr. Borman is really cool at inspiring creativity with her imaginative stories. I really liked the day that she read the story she wrote about getting a tattoo at the bar. She made me feel free to express my ideas openly and helped me to improve my writing.

Ms. Borman will not give an A or a B unless you have earned it, but that makes it more special. She is a great, creative teacher.

Mrs. Boreman is a fun teacher. She makes class interesting. I learned a lot from her and would take another class. I had to work for my B, but it was worth it.

Great teacher. The syllabus was very clear. I knew exactly what she was looking for. Many students regularly got involved in debates on current events. Those that just sat there probably thought it was boring, but I liked being able to freely discuss my opinions. She halped me several times after class, and always answered e-mails. I recommend her!

I took both my english classes with Ms.B back to back. SHe was an interesting teacher in that she treated as equal adults. She also taught me more about literature than I knew which made me enjoy reading even more. I earned an A and a B in her classes and would recommend her classes. English and Lit can be very hard classes.

Great prof! Acts out poems so that we can understand them better. Very enthusiastic about literature. She taught me how to be a better reader. I'll never look at poetry the same way.

Awesome teacher. I learned a lot from her. She is very into poetry and short stories. The only Eng teacher I know of that actually took us to the film festival. Papers are mostly short ones in a batch of 5. It was actually easier for me this way. If there were an English 3, I would taker her. Good teacher! Elliot

If you attend all or most of the classes, she gives you extra credit that is added to your FINAL GRADE. That's a no brainer. If you just show up to all of the classes, you will do well. Made English 1 fun, with creative assignments. Great teacher!

I loved this teacher. Lots of interesting and enjoyable insights about poetry and literature. We went to see art and films. It was great. That person who complained about her being boring must have been one of the students she caught plagiarizing. She hates cheaters. If you're caught cheating, you will fail the class. But that makes it fairer.

She loves her job and it shows. I am in II & so far so good. She does not like Gorden Rule Papers, so she breaks it down and easier on the student. Trust me it helps. She gave us 6 writing assignments and then EC if u show up each day. A ++ in my book. She is very big on poetry. Do not copy someone elses work, U will pay for it, F ++

C. Borman is an awesome professor. She loves her work, enjoys (and prefers) class participation, and is quite comical. Make sure you follow her directions regarding essay submittal (don't make yourself look like an idiot by not following simple directions). I wish she taught other courses that I need. I highly recommend C. Borman. A++++

very good professor

Just took Ms. Borman for winter intersession class at Ybor from 12/13-12/29. She is fabulous. Does make you work hard for your grade, but introduces you to a wonderful world of literature through movies, poems and short stories. She's very funny and will keep you on your toes! Highly highly recommended.

Wonderful teacher. Very interesting. Makes poetry fun!

I really enjoyed all of the poetry we did in class. Sometimes I would read a poem 3 or 4 times and not really get it. Ms. Borman would explain it and make it very clear. I became a much better reader in this class. I highly recommend this teacher to anyone wanting to learn.

Chery Borman is an amazing professor. She has the best sense of humor, and her classes are really fun. take this prfessor. I would definetely recommend her.

Awesome teacher would take anything she teaches again!! Really helpful.. just, make sure you read all the required stuff b.c its on the final. very intersting was lost of fun!!!

An excellent professor

She's a pretty good teacher. I enjoyed her classes for ENC 1 & 2. I got a B for both classes. She is so leniant. I mean, she would give an assignment and you could turn it in at the end. College students can appreciate that!. Im glad to have had her. She's nice.

Great teacher who treats everyone with respect. I found a whole new world of poetry and films in her class. She showed us Hedwig and the Angry Inch. It changed my life. Beware though, the leniency is OVER. Things must be handed in on time or she will not accept them. Still, I recommend this professor!!!

Shes extremely generous and lenient. She accepted late work for full credit and she'll do what she can to help out. I thought I had a C after the exam but ended up with an A, so I definitely recommend her to everyone. I thought about dropping this class midway through but Im so glad I didnt

She is a wonderful professor, she helped me a lot,and she respected my religion as Muslim female.I respected her a lot.

She is a decent teacher. To pass her class you have to write about 5 essays'. I am terrible at writing essay's and I still passed with a B so if you put a lil effort in to it and show up you should get a decent grade.

Ms.Borman is very nice by the time you leave her enc 1101 class you will know how to speak correctly. I will recommend everyone to take her class.

She was a total character, I was entertained everytime I went to class. Class itself was kind of tough but shes a funny lady. Just leave your cell phone off and arrive on time cuz shes a stickler about those two things

Professor Borman is a great teacher who is truly concerned that her students learn and do well in class. Everytime I went to her office (which was a lot), she sat with me to review my work. I never felt rushed, but she does tend to do more than one thing at a time. I recommend her to students wanting to learn and EARN their grade.

Fantastic teacher. We did so much in this class, from attending art exhibits to watching poetry slams to participating in the Festival of the Moving Image. Ms. Borman made the subject interesting and fun. It was particularly interesting to talk about the short stories and poems in class. She has a way of making students think creatively. Love her!

There are some pissed off students who diss her on this site, but I really enjoyed the class. It wasn't easy, but I liked that it was a hybrid. One thing: DON't PLAGIARIZE. You will get bounced from class with an F.

Wow! Ms. Borman is such a character! Sh has been my favorite teacher at the college since I started a year ago. She isn't stuck up or uppity like a lot of the teachers and makes learning so much fun. I loved English anyway, but she enhanced my love. She is very comical and we have online sessions also. TAKE HER IF YOU CAN! You won't regret it.

i took her in summer 09.. i am pregnant and was sick all the time and missed class. I still got a B in her class. all you have to do is read the storys write a only like 100 words about what you thought of the story. turn it in an thats it. Her class was so easy and makes you a better writer. She is very, very,out there an outspoken be prepared!

It is not the hardest class, but you will have to do some work. I have taken for 1101 and 1102.

If you are planning on taking a Hybrid class with her then you are in for an easy ride. She's funny, honest, helpful and incredibly intelligent! Minimal work required but show up for class to be aware of upcoming events, etc. She's a bit tough on grading so make sure you come in knowing your stuff! DONT BUY BOOKS! WASTE OF MONEY!WE RARELY USED THEM

She is a riot! She is funny and easy to deal with. Do the work she assigns, show up for class, and you'll be fine. We hardly used the book but it is a good one to have.

Prof. Borman is one of a kind! Shes passionate about literature and WILL help you become a better reader/writer. I'm a science major and I really hate writing, but I now have a profound respect for literature and writing. IMPORTANT NOTE: She has pop quizes on the reading material assigned! Study the short stories and you'll be good. ATTEND CLASS!!

I really enjoyed Professor Borman as a teacher. She is intelligent, funny, and just a little bit crazy.

She grades pretty steep, starts at 75 and goes up or down depending on how well a paper is written, instead of starting at 100 and going down. My class was hybrid, and I learned more in-class than online. She's funny, and the assignments are interesting. Do the work, she is pretty tough on slackers.

Ms. Borman is hilarious. She is full of interesting facts about writers and is never really serious until you slack off. Make sure you read the assigned writings and do the final paper. Although she can be a tough grader, she is usually fair. Just do the work, there isn't much, and you'll pass.

Real fun to go to her lectures. I took her hybrid class, and even though I didnt care for the online portion, I learned alot. I had an 89 and she curved it to and A b/c I did some extra exercises. Gives extra credit

I took the hybrid class. I really enjoyed the lectures more than the online portion. She was helpful and funny. I am taking her again in the fall.

She is a good teacher. A lazy student won't like her.

Cheri is a wonderful teacher. She wants students to think for themselves, which requires some effort. (This is probably why so many diss her on here.) Grading is not lenient; if you do average work, you'll get an average grade. Think for yourself; be creative; read the assignments; be prepared to discuss; you'll do fine.

She is an Awesome Teacher. She makes it simple and if you do the work you can't help but pass. This is a college course so you should attend but she is there for you and as a returning student I needed help and she was AWESOME... GREAT TEACHER!!!

Cheryl Borman is real cool from beginning to end.She is very well read and very intelligent. I recommend her highly.

She is the Best! Hard grader but she will help you with everything

Mrs. Borman was a fantastic teacher. Even though this was an online class, she went the extra mile to meet me several times during the semester. She spent two hours with me in the Academic Success Center, which helped me a lot. I recommend her to anyone who wants to learn to write better. Just provide concrete and specific examples!

Ms. Borman is a great teacher. She often sat with me to discuss my papers, and she asked questions that helped me figure out what to write about and how to develop my ideas. She would go from student to student in the class to offer help.

Prof. Borman wants her students to succeed. Although she can be tough when grading, she allows rewrites on essays not meeting a C or higher. Easy to pass the class with A/B by putting in the effort on essays/mywritinglab and utilizing her as a resource. If you need help during any stage of your writing/unclear on instructions GO TO HER FOR HELP!

Ms B is a great professor she is very helpful with written assignments she will show you how to write a great paper. Very informative about writing and proper usage of grammer. The only exam was a Final exam-which was very easy.

I had a GREAT experience with this professor. The topics for papers were very interesting and relatable which made this writing process a lot easier. She gave back papers that didn't make the best grades so that you can redo them. Responds quickly when in need of help, and exam was very easy. HIGHLY SUGGEST!

This was a fun course, and I would recommend Prof. Borman to anybody. She gave good feedback, and even allowed you to revise written assignments when turned in early. All around it seems she wants her students to succeed!
