Great teacher who cares about ESL students' English proficiency and knowledge. Required us to do homework to benefit to ourselve. If you want to learn ESL at the best, take her classes. She is the great teacher I've ever met before

if you are the kind of people that is just looking for a easy grade look somewere else. other wise she is a great teacher that know her stuff.

admit her class is boring but I can feel her passion and her respect for students of other nations. It's in her class, i learnt how to speak subtlely and politely. She grades very easy on exams and presentations. Read both text and transcripts at the end of the textbook, you will get an A.

dont look at those bad ratings, ms.newman was helpful and really easy as long as u do the hw and study for the tests. and her class gave me chance to talk more english just because the classmates were close and friendly and willing to talk with each other. i love her class's that atmosphere, so relaxing and no stressfull feeling

I say she is a very nice teacher, indeed the class is super boring, but 1 you can get easy A 2 you can get easy A 3 she do have enough knowledge to answer any of your questions. If you want learn more you should ask her questions! And BTW she is a super kind woman, and will let you pass the class if you do the work normally.

With her teaching and the tutor's help, I was able to pass her class with a B. As a matter of fact that those who complain about "worse teaching style" was not valid. I love her teaching style and I enjoyed the supportive environment that she created.

IDK why u guys don't want her esl classes, but she is a good teacher,a knowledgeable native speaker, have little hw, and always thinking for students. yes her class sometimes is boring , but that's because you guys never do the homework and can't volunteer an answer, Boring so what? its an easy AAAAA and u can still learn if u ask her questions.

Miss Newman is a great teacher! I don't understand why some people say bad things. I am sure they got bad grades. There are some teachers who would just give you an A for nothing and when you get to the next class you fail! Miss Newman is strict but you learn a lot. I took two classes from her. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to learn.

Professor Newman would care if you care!! Follow the instructions on the book, and you would get an A! She gives a lot of feedback if you ask her! However, due to this new online system, it wasn't easy to communicate with her outside the classes.

Sometimes teacher Cheri might explain the lecture a bit slow. However, she always gives a practical response to my essay. She is nice and helpful. Don't expect the class to be super fun and interesting, this is a writing class.

Cheri is an amazing teacher. She reignited my enthusiasm & motivation for school. She paid attention to all her students, & you never felt left out in her class bc of the comfortable environment she created. I felt heard. I'm sad that I can't continue with her. I hope my next professor in ESL 251/255 is as caring, funny, & attentive as Cheri.
