Mrs Moman was a fantastic professor. Lectures were interesting and homework wasn't bad at all. She truly shows her love for the content of the course and her students. She has gone the extra mile for her students all semester. She doesn't require you to be in class, but GO TO CLASS.
Last review wasn't honest enough, she's a very nice and caring professor but her 5 exams were not passable. I kid you not and you can ask anybody who took her fall2021 mkt300 class, everybody failed every exam, they were so hard because there not test she makes on her own rather cengage gives out the test online and you take them in person with LDB
Tests are hard, but that's b/c they're from Cengage. She does great explaining the material, but it's just really hard to memorize b/c the chapters are 20+ pages each. You participate in marketing research which is not that bad. Very knowledgeable! Do the homework, PMP project, and research and try your best on the tests and you should be good!
Professor Moman was great! She was one of the most caring and helpful processors I have had at UA. I went to her outside of class and she is extremely accommodating and wants her students to do well. With this being said, she gives out great extra credit. However, MAKE SURE you go to class!!! She throws in extra credit for those who show up.
Her tests were awful and completely unreasonable to study for. Her lectures don't help because the test questions are generated by Cengage. The class average is always bad. Don't recommend.
Profesor Moman is a just in the middle profesor. Attendance is not mandatory but people present may receive extra credit which is a plus. However, her homework and class schedule is odd with the homework due for a specific section due the night prior to the section being taught in class. The tests are very long and confusing.
The tests are incredibly difficult. You are given 180+ terms to memorize, and she doesn't make her own tests. Everything is pulled from Cengage randomly. Although she curves generously, the tests are insanely difficult to do well on. Extra credit is helpful, but the tests suck.
You have to read every chapter and do homework before she teaches it. Then in class, she regurgitates the textbook and adds no new insight on anything. She doesn't make her own exams and doesn't care that the average is routinely in the 50s or 60s. Cengage and Quizlet essentially are your real teacher for this course if you want to do well.
Class is way too difficult for what it is. Way too much to memorize with super nuanced multiple choice exams. Lectures are just the slides. Study cengage, slides, and the random videos to do well. It's difficult but not impossible. She also consistently blamed the students for bad test scores even though the class avg was very low for every exam.
She's terrible. Homework due before the lecture on it, lecture is her literally reading slides word for word, and tests are from cengage. You're completely on your own, and she could care less. She's only teaching to pay for her PhD. But the amount of extra credit to cover up her lack on involvement is ridiculous. Shocked she'll be back. Take Karrh
Her tests are extremely hard to do well on because she just pulls them from Cengage. Lots of curves and extra credit to keep everybody from failing. She is probably the most boring lecturer I've ever had. The amount of terms you have to learn is crazy
Class is totally lecture-based and very monotonous. Lots of homework every week. The only good part is she offers a lot of extra credit. She's not very understanding or helpful when you email her.
This class was definitely challenging - a majority of the class does not do well on her exams. She gives a lot of extra credit, but I feel like thats only after realizing that people are failing. Lots of homework, extra work, etc., but I honestly don't think it's that bad. Wouldn't take again but not terrible.
Great professor. She goes off of personal experiences. I think she knows the tests are bad and I think that's why she scales them 7-10 points. Gives ALOT of extra credit. Tests are not as bad as everyone says, just a lot of definitions (tells us which ones to know) and some are very similar. Could have a 93 and off of extra credit, it's a 100.
Professor Moman is extremely boring and reads directly off the slides. The tests are all from cengage and are incredibly difficult to do well on. The class average was always terrible. She gives out an absurd amount of extra credit to cover the fact that she is a bad teacher. This class was very frustrating but with the ec the end grade was fine.
I honestly dont even think she is qualified to teach based off her just reading the slides and being ok with all of her students failing. Extra credit is given just so she covers her butt to make sure she doesn't get fired.
Easily the most incompetent professor at UA. She expects you to memorize 300 terms per exam and only reads over powerpoints in her redundant lectures. Exam averages are in the 50s to 60s range and she makes you depend on extra credit to make up for that. Overrall I learned nothing from this course and Moman had no enthusiasm to teach us
Tests are very difficult, as you have to remember hundreds of terms. However projects, homework and research are easy A's that should keep your grade up. She offers the most extra credit of any teacher I have ever had.
Although her test are tough, she gives so much extra credit that it is hard to not do well in her class. Be sure to study the homework practice quizzes for the test. She was very understanding anytime I had an issue and emailed her. Only 2 homework assignments per week!
The way you are tested in this class is absolutely baffling. Essentially a vocabulary class, with questions having answers like "The Cost" and "Cost", where one is wrong. I don't know how this is expected to teach marketing skills, besides knowing the lingo. I haven't seen one personal contribution she has made to teaching this class, all Cengage.
I am a junior at UA & have never had a worse professor. They had to have picked this lunatic off of the side of the road because she actually is the worst person i have ever met. I'm sure she wont be a professor next semester, but just in case you have the option, change your major out of business before taking her. I do not have one positive word
I am a finance, economic, and math major and ended this incredibly easy class with a B. She is nuts. I have a 4.2 gpa and have never made below a 90 on any test in my life and the highest grade i made on a test was a 67. Move schools before you take her. I guess she is close with the dean because there is no way she was correctly hired. Awful.
I disagree with the other reviews. Her study guides are almost the exact same as the exams, she teaches throughly and is overall a really nice person. She gives out SO much extra credit, I feel like it's impossible not to pass! Highly recommend
Everyone fails the tests because they are so poorly worded. Hard to fail this class due to how much extra credit and homework grades but also very difficult to do well.
She makes the homework for a chapter due before the lecture (so you have to read the chapter outside of class), which makes her lectures pointless but then she takes attendance. Her tests are easy if you do the study guide (usually its an exact copy of the test).
I loved Cherie Moman. She was extremely helpful (willing to look at your projects before the due date to ensure you got a 100%) and came from industry so has a great perspective on real life application. She has lots of extra credit built in and is always willing to answer questions. If you did not get an A or A+ in this class you weren't trying.
Professor Moman made this class a lot less tedious than it could have been. Really helpful study material for the exams, really light workload overall, and a lot of extra credit opportunities. She's a nice person and wants everyone to succeed.
Any one who rates her poorly is just lazy, the class is not difficult at all. The homework answers are on quizlet, she gives so much extra credit, and the study guides are basically the exams. Attendance is for a lot of extra credit points, she's a super nice person, and you can get her to check your PMPs before turn in. Would def recommend her
Lectures were very boring. We had a project and there were no clear instructions and she gave little to no direction.
Homeworks are due back to back and some due the DAY OF the test so lectures becomes pointless and boring. On the other hand she is a good person and hands out a lot of extra credit and the test is literally the study guide word for word. Attendance is extra credit but not required.
She could be sometimes a little unclear on project grading criteria which caused me to lose some points. However, there are so many extra credit opportunities in the class that you would have to try to not do well in the course.
Professor Moman is ok, however the lectures were boring and felt forced. She had us read and do the homework before she taught the material, which could be really frustrating when the material is as confusing and heavy as marketing. There are a lot of tests which would be nearly impossible to pass if she didn't give us study guides.
Moman gives you the test before the tests. You can go to class, log in, and leave. She lets you send in your PMPs for her to grade before you actually submit it, so you can fix anything. All the homework is on quizlets. I swear to god, this class is the easiest thing I have EVER taken. I do NOT understand the low ratings lol this is dirt easy
Professor Moman is amazing!!! Her MKT 300 class is SO easy if you just show up and halfway pay attention in class (pro tip do the homework in class). Her exams are copied and pasted from the study guide so it's very easy to make an A in the class. Although the lectures can be boring, she seems genuinely interested in what she teaches. TAKE HER!
Fairly easy class, although you have a decent amount of homework throughout the week, its fairly easy and a manageable workload. She gives study guides that are exactly like the tests, as long as you do those, you'll be fine! She does offer extra credit too, and she records attendance with 3 excused absences
She was an easy professor for MKT 300. She gives out tons of extra credit. Exams are the exact same as study guides. Lots of homework but it is manageable and doesn't take too long. Attend class if you want more extra credit at the end of the semester.
This class is actually the biggest joke. The material is not hard it's the professor. You have to complete the homework before it is even taught in class so you are basically teaching yourself. She is a very strict grader so make sure you work extra hard on her projects. Test are easy if you study.
You are crazy if you don't take professor Moman. Easiest class I have ever had here at UA. Study guides are carbon copies of the exams.
She is a great professor! Study guides are word-for-word tests. Homework is on mindtap and doesn't take long. She also engages with the class instead of reading word-for-word off the slides. You have to go and do three labs out of the course but take no longer than 30 mins and are easy. No final.
Professor Moman's class is so easy, you have to try hard to do badly. She constantly is giving extra credit opportunities, guidelines/expectations are very clearly set, and the exams are the study guide she gives you. She genuinely wants her students to do well and anyone not taking that opportunity is silly.
I really liked Professor Moman. She was always very nice and helpful to me. There is a good bit of homework and assignments but overall not a super challenging class if you do your work. She offers a lot of extra credit opportunities. I would definitely take her again!
She was a great teacher and offers sooooo much extra credit. Take her for Marketing. Do ALL the extra credit and you will be fine. Also, go to class.
The tests are just like the study guide; she's a straightforward grader; homework is manageable; gives extra credit; make sure to go to your Tide Labs
Professor Moman was a great professor. She offers tons of extra credit. There are quite of few homework assignments but they are not hard at all. The study guides she sent were the same as the tests, I would not take this class with any other professor. She offered help in many ways and it would be hard not to pass this class.
Very nice woman. She is always down to chat, whether it's about your grade or about nothing at all. I showed up to very few lectures, and she still remembered me with every conversation. Tests are incredibly straightforward.
The best professor for MKT 300. She made this class one of the easiest in the business school. Tests are identical to the study guide and homework answers are on quizlet. There is also a lot of extra credit. Lectures are very boring and attendance is mandatory but you don't need to pay attention.
I could've easily passed this class without showing up to class once-- lectures are unnecessary and the only reason I went was bc of mandatory attendance. Grade based off paper tests (same as study guide), easy online chapter quizzes, and 4 short assignments, and research lab participation(sign up early and you'll be fine). Easy A class if you try
Marketing-300 with Moman was the EASIEST class I have ever taken in my life. I did not read an ounce of the material and got a 999/1000 in the class. She gives loads of XC (over 100 points) and study guides are just like the test. Anyone who votes here lower than a 5 is lazy because this class is impossible to fail.
You have to do the homework before the lecture on that topic, but otherwise a generally easy class. Exams are very close to the study guides. For your personal marketing plan (30% of grade), she will review your assignments before you submit and tell you if anything needs changed, which she does for hundreds of students. She is incredibly friendly.
This class was so boring. Attendance was required, but she barely acted like she wanted to be there. Homework was due BEFORE she lectured on the subject, which made the lectures even less boring. This class was ultimately a waste of time. It was super easy, as she gives the exam questions about beforehand and gives lots of extra credit.
So nice and really wants her students to succeed! I loved having her, and even though the class is boring (which she has no control over) she made it interesting and fun when she could.
Moman is an easy teacher. Lectures are boring though and attendance is mandatory. Tests were super easy and we would get all the questions before the test. Then the department head stopped her from doing it. She is super nice and a fair grader. Ask her about your PMP before submitting and you will do great. Lots of extra credit opportunities too.
I would not recommend this professor if you are looking for someone reasonable. She has completely changed the format of her course this semester and decided to do so halfway through the class. I have had a difficult time in my interactions with her.
I do not recommend taking this professor. She used to give study guides and half way through the semester decided to take them away. She is not a nice woman so don't even try to meet with her because she will just be rude. There are better options for this class and if you are able to take them do it.
She switched the format of the class halfway through the semester. She took away our study guides. Everyone went from getting A's and B's on the test to everyone getting C's and D's on the last two tests. If she didn't switch the format I would say take her but unless you want to be studying for 4 hours to maybe even get a B, don't bother.
Don't take her if you want someone reasonable and someone that keeps the class consistent. I rarely say poor things about a professor but she was very rude.
Professor Moman is very easy to work with. She always emails back in a timely manner. She also is very knowledgeable in Marketing and wants you to succeed.
This class is a waste of time and shouldn't be required for any business major other than marketing. Lectures are painfully boring and attendance is mandatory for some reason. I generally did the homeworks for the unit all at once and the tests were fine. The study guide thing wasn't that big of a deal if you used Quizlet to memorize the vocab
She likes to hear herself talk. Lectures are long boring and mandatory. 2-3 weekly homework assignments that take 1-2 hours each to complete and barely affect your overall grade. Test heavy on the grades over half the final grade comes from homework. Mandatory 3 research studies and “PMP” due at the end of every unit basically a mini paper
she said this class would make eveyone want to be a marketing major. It made me change my major out of marketing.
This professor is one of the worst I have ever taken and is extremely rude and disrespectful. She also lied to all of us and said every other class isn't allowed to use phones and computers but it wasn't true. In fact every other marketing class is allowed to use them. Do not take this class with her.
Professor Moman is the worst professor I have ever had at the university of Alabama. Even being a Deans list student I have been struggling extremely with her test. She gives us NO study guide when every other mkt 300 class gets a study guide for their test. Every question on her test can be two answers it's all trick question. DONT TAKE
Mandatory attendance throughout the semester, THE ONLY MKT 300 PROF WITH A TECHNOLOGY BAN, also the only one without test study guides, the homework is due earlier than the other classes, the only test prep material is the unanswered vocabulary list that's already posted after each chapter in the textbook. Her powerpoints are also just pictures.
Lectures are insanely boring and still mandatory. Two weekly homework assignments that take 1-2 hours each to complete. She just likes to hear herself talk in front and does not really care about anything. The only professor I´ve ever had to ban technology in class.
I have never in my 22 years living experienced a teacher so obviously and unnecessarily rude. Considering the grade I made in the class It confused me. We had a visitor one day and her personality changed do this kind and bubbly person we had never seen before. Beware this class is very mentally draining and she was unprepared many times.
Long lectures and not super approachable when you need help. Lots of extra credit opportunities. No study guides and slides are unhelpful. She goes too fast to take notes sometimes (you have to use a notebook no tech allowed in class) and when I raised my hand to ask her to go back she ignored me and kept talking. Overall its not too bad just study
Sadly this has been the worst class I've taken at UA. The lectures are so painful and so long and it is actually impossible to take notes. The tests are HORRIBLE! I think she makes them herself, and there's always two possible answers for the horrible questions she writes. I don't know one person doing well in her class. She's also just mean
study guides have no structure; she talks too fast and doesn't give enough information to take handwritten notes. exams are on paper and you do not receive feedback unless you go to her office hours. currently studying for the final and am worried that this will be the class that removes me from the president's list.
Do not take her, she is rude. Attendance is mandatory and the lectures are so boring. She doesn't let you use technology and does not give study guides. I frequently make deans list and am not going to be making it this semester. I have all A's in my other classes and had to grind to get a B-. I would study for hours to get a 50 on the exam.
Do not take this professor ever! Her test are super hard and no amount of studying will get you above a A on a test. Class is attendance mandatory and lectures are boring and not even relevant for test. She took off points on one of my assignments because I didn't follow her on linked. Please never take this teacher for MKT
Lecture is so irrelevant to the exams. Only study material given is key terms from the textbook. Lied about all MKT300 not using technology, it's just her class. The exams are 50% of your grade with no drop exam and THEY'RE ALL APPLICATION QUESTIONS. You better pray you do homework and extra credit on time because that's the only way you can pass.
I have no idea how she expects students to study for exams based on 200 key terms that hardly show up on the exam. Every question is an application question that isn't taught in lecture, connect assignments, or the textbook. Almost every exam question could have two of the options be the correct answer. Pray your common sense gets you above a 50%.
This class was so frustrating. Her tests don't align with the review guides, making it feel like studying was pointless. She also enforces mandatory attendance in a massive 300-person lecture, which seemed unnecessary. On top of that, she placed a strict technology ban, something I've never experienced in any other classes here. Do not take her!
MKT300 is a very easy class, but Professor Moman finds any way to make it more difficult and aggravating. She doesn't allow technology in the classroom, doesn't round grades, gives 5 tests with study guides that are extremely vague, and attendance is mandatory, despite lectures being boring and useless. You'll survive, but take someone else.
The most recent reviews are all accurate. The class structure is blatantly terrible and she is very hostile. I can understand tough grading, but there is no learning in this class. Take ANY other teacher if you can.
This class SHOULD be an easy A+ class. The grading structure of the class makes it so that if you get below a 96 on a single test even with perfect grades on all the assignments you can't get an A+. Attendance is mandatory and no technology allowed. The lectures also are boring and aren't helpful on the unnecessarily hard tests. Don't take.
The blackboard layout for this class can get you in trouble. Check the course schedule, because it doesn't line up with the blackboard sequences too well. The lectures are just word salads from the book, just read the book. Cherie was helpful in life circumstance with supporting information.
Easily the worst professor I've had at this school. She's a very a rude person. Her lectures are 75 minute word salads that won't help you on the exams even if you're able to take notes because she flies through them. Her homework assignments are on McGraw Hill. And she's the only teacher I've taken at the University with a "tech-free" classroom.
Worst teacher ive ever had. Her lecture are like a lullaby, so easy to fall asleep. taking this class with multiple friends and she is truly horrible. Good luck studying for her tests.
Worst teacher I have ever had at this university and I hope she gets fired because of how terrible her lectures and study guides are. gives us no notes for class and we have no guides to help us stucy for the tests. terrible never take her.
Slides are just pictures and she talks too fast during lectures. Study guides are just definitions, but you can't get definitions from lectures cause she talks too fast. Homework takes too long. Rude. Don't recommend her at all (listen to all the other reviews from this semester please).
Not easy, but not the hardest class youll take here. She isnt the most pleasant to listen to during lectures and they tend to be quite boring, so just work on other assignments and scan the attendance to be productive. The tests are hard so study properly, DO THE CHAPTER RECHARGES. Im averaging a B on all the tests, with extra stuff, its an A.
Very rude.
Took her for both MKT 300 & MKT 344. She likes to lecture, but tests are outlined well. Extra credit opportunities are available and great when needing one-on-one feedback.
Great professor online. Got back to me if I ever had questions and always listed instructions easily. Had zero issues
Lectures are very long and boring; laptops only allowed in first few rows. Tests are pretty difficult; the assignment recharges are the best way to study. All lectures and "study guides" are just pictures. Grading on the PMPs is tough so get them checked by TA/Instructor first. Not great at responding to emails but effective communicator in person
Do not take her for your sanity.
Horrible teacher. Do not take this class. Her lectures are like word salads, she talks nonsense all class and expects you to learn the material on Mcgraw Hill on your own. Wait another semester to take a different teacher if you are stuck with her.
do not take this professor. She gives 5 tests and not a single drop and makes you go to class during dead week and smiled when she said it. She explains everything to you like your 3 years old. She claims to be good at marketing but she clearly hasn't seen any advertisements for a salad because she hasn't eaten one in years.
This professor treats marketing like it's rocket science, adding unnecessary difficulty. Attendance is mandatory, with no drops for tests, quizzes, or homework. I've barely tried and will still get a B. It's frustrating since the class has no relevance to my career, and I haven't learned anything meaningful. She gives Kent Zirlot a good look, iykyk
She takes up the whole class time and does not let you out early. She also does not allow for phones or laptops to be out. The material that she lectures on does not fully match the test. Better off just reading the electronic version of the book in McGraw. She does give some chances for extra credit though which is nice.
An easy class but she makes it unbearable. Treats it like it's the only class you have. If you have to take her, read the book as it's the ONLY way to do good on the tests. if you have the option to take someone else, do not take her. I dread this class every week.
5 tests no drops, grades assignments like this is marketing 1500, also she weighs 1500 pounds. yells at students in class for whispering, test average is consistently a 70-74, tests make no sense 2 answers to every question. Do not take this lady for your own good she is the worst professor i've ever had at this school and has no care for students.
HORRIBLE TEACHER DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU AS A STUDENT
The absolute worst class I have taken in my entire life. She gives more homework than any other class I take while having homework count for the absolute lowest percent of my grade compared to other classes. Her classes involve showing slides with nothing but pictures and spewing word vomit. Not to mention tests with poorly written questions.
I really liked her! The only downside is that her class is tech-free mandatory attendance which is annoying, but I think all MKT300 sections are like that so that's not her fault. She can be rude if you aren't paying attention, but otherwise she's friendly and helpful. Lab, homework, and extra credit boost your grade a ton and tests are easy.
Attendance is mandatory but going to class is pointless, her lectures aren't helpful at all. Study guides are practically useless and lazily put together. Homework takes forever and doesn't have any questions that show up on the exam. She's also super strict about no technology, so get ready to hand write your notes. Take a different professor!
I really don't get the hate for Prof. Moman. I had her fall 2024 and paid somewhat attention in the class and got an A. She is nice but enforces no laptops. I found the class pretty easy and don't get at all why people say its hard. The ones saying its hard probably pay zero attention to lectures, don't let it scare you at all!
She's probably the worst professor I've had at this school because of her over-the-top grading, rudeness, and teaching style. Also, never responds to any emails and gets mad after students ask any questions. Has called kids out for the littlest things in front of the whole 200-person lecture as well
I am an A student and in multiple honors societies. She slams you with work, and your grade is gonna tank. I am a finance major, she takes it too seriously for a marketing class. The lectures are tiring and repetitive. She uses the whole 75 minutes which could honestly be slimmed down, rambles. By the end of the lecture you retain nothing.
I was able to succeed in this class because I taught myself everything but the lectures were terrible. I cannot fathom why she makes the tests considerably harder than they need to be compared to what she taught in lecture. Extremely rude and not empathetic. Never reviewed. Has some type of god complex.
Basically, what everybody else is already saying, she gives 5 tests with no drops, gives these long assignments that take 40 minutes to do twice a week, and attendance is mandatory for every day of class. If I could do the semester over again, I would have found an online class or a different professor.
Made me lose my scholarship because I had 4 absences. (GBA not MKT)
Don't take this class if you can help it at all, don't. 5 Tests, no drops, they're hard. Sometimes she is quick to email back, sometimes she is not. Attendance is absolutely mandatory; she takes 5 points off your final grade for absences after the first 3. She is the only MKT professor with a "no technology" policy. Wait to find a better professor
worst teacher at this school. doesnt make the test anything like she goes over in class. do not take this class she thinks she knows everything.
Attendance is required. Her class is easy if you just study the key terms for the exams. The homework is twice a week, but it is a smartbook not too bad at all. Her class is easy but lectures can be boring, but that is normal. Easy A/B. Tests are scantron though so if you do not like to wait for your score, avoid.
I think the ratings on here are a little dramatic. I got a 64 on one of my tests and am going to get an A. There is a lot of material, but thats not her fault. Electronics are okay if you're sitting in the first 4 rows. Exams are based off of lectures so take notes or record. Exams are only 50% of grade. Extra credit. Go to office hours. Email her.
Couldn't grade all extra credit that she gave out because she's too busy with other students and trying to get a PhD while teaching, has 3 research labs that are mandatory but always fill up so you are forced to do the alternative assignments, offers zero feedback on exams, assigns 5 personal marketing plans and takes off points no feedback offered
She's a great teacher, just be in class and pay attention. Sit in the front and take notes. You should be able to pass all the exams and get extra credit
I waited to take mkt 300 for 3 semesters because she kept being the only professor available when I would register, but unfortunately I had to sign up at the end. She's awful and attendance shouldn't be that mandatory for a huge lecture class.... She also does NOT allow technology in the room? (didn't know I was back in high school)
I'm fuming I hated this class so much. If my major were marketing, I'd change it just so I wouldn't have to potentially take her again. I might fail but don't know bc her grading is inconsistent and doesn't offer any feedback. Literally no need for a mkt 300 class to be this rough and time consuming.
Professor Moman was a bit difficult to deal with. 5 tests, no drop, research participation, and weekly assignments are all mandatory. If you miss more than 3 classes, you get 5 points deducted per absence. She did offer extra credit, and that saved my grade. She is not terrible, however, I feel like she treated us like we were back in 6th grade.
I took this class online, and there were weekly writing assignments, quizzes, and tests, none of them were difficult. It's hard to fail this class—I'd have easily gotten an A+ if I hadn't missed a few due dates. The instructor's videos can be a bit boring, which made it tough for me to stay focused. Otherwise, I recommend taking her course.
For a Marketing teacher Cherie Moman is extremely old fashioned. There is no technology in her class and attendance is mandatory. She acts like she hates her job and shows up to class in a bad mood. She takes forever to grade and her tests are confusing. The class isn't the hardest but it should be way easier for what it is.
Professor Moman made me change my major from Marketing to Finance to avoid taking a class with her again. Listen to the ratings. So much homework, three one hour labs you have to attend outside of class, five tests with no drops. On top of that, she takes forever to grade so you won't ever know what you really have in the class.
While this class isn't as tough as everyone makes it out to be, outdated rules and boring lectures made it unnecessarily difficult. Tough grading on PMPs so make sure to follow the rubric verbatim. Honestly taught majority of material to myself for the tests and did pretty well. Lectures were mandatory and not very helpful or engaging.
Cannot say enough bad things. Unaccomadating, doesn't feel like she cares about her students. Genuinely feels like she's taking anger out on large classes. Class is not inherently difficult but made over the top and ridiculous by Moman. Avoid at all costs.
Don't take this class! I would sit outside of the classroom and wait for attendance because I couldn't stand her voice. She's more of a robot than a teacher. Doesn't round up even if you have a 99.5%, and essentially doesn't seem to care about anything. All information is impractical. I would rather walk on nails before taking her class again.
I went to nearly every class and worked beyond hard in this class and my grade was on the cusp and she did not round - I mean the CUSP. Other than that, the PMP (which is a large portion of our grade) is unfairly graded as different TA's grade them based on their THEIR perspective. DO NOT TAKE! Supposed to be an easy A class, was not worth it.
she is very strict about no technology in class and talks to you like you're in highschool.
The lectures are very boring and feel drug out and very long. she doesn't allow computers either unless you are in the first 3 rows which is annoying.
She is not a great professor. She fills every single minute of every lecture. Her lectures are boring and tons of common sense information. The test are common sense, but gives 5 multiple choice options so makes it hard because all the answer are similar. Would not recommend sitting in these hr 15 minute lectures.
Homework is all smart books and PMPs. She reads from a script every lecture and says um minimum 70 times a lecture, absolutely would not take again for an already boring class
Attendance is a part of the grade and a no electronics class. This class is a required culverhouse class and she makes this class harder than it needs to be and has absolutely painful lectures. She shows no enthusiasm about her class but expects the students to want to pay attention. Bottom line, painful lectures and rude attitude.
I'm not sure why people dislike her. The class is so easy. All you have to do is go to class, do the homework(beyond easy), and study her guide/powerpoints for tests. Plus you get a ton of extra credit. A-B range is super easy to achieve since the course is out of 1,000 points. If ppl r failing, it is bc they don't go to class and study for exams.
don't taker her class unless you want to memorize terms and definitions without even understanding real life applications. During whole lecture time, just stands at one place and look at the computer display . Poor engagement with students.
For expecting and taking attendance every class, you would expect a decent lecture. Wrong. Reading off a script all of the time. This class can be so interesting when taught correctly. Tests are all multiple choice but have 5 answers instead of the normal 4. "Study guides" are just vocab words from the text and lectures.
there are alot of easy assignments to boost your grade. her tests however are very hard and designed to stump you, i realzied the teacher was the issue with the class and not the course. she also is a cold unenaged teacher that is rude to her students and apatheitc towards her class. worst teacher i have had in culverhouse do not take
Currently in her class and was surprised to see so many negative reviews. This class is SO easy if you are willing to put in any sort of effort. She comes off stern the first couple of classes but I've gone to many of her office hours and attended every class and she is extremely nice. Wrote Not sure yet for my grade but right now I have an A+.
The course material is easy to understand, but this professor designs her tests in an attempt to trick you.She does this because she is upset that no one shows up to the lectures. I know this because I show up to class and she incessantly complains about those who don't.She prides herself in "getting back at" the people who fade her class.L teacher
Super surprised by all the negative reviews, she is a great teacher and offers so many other easy assignment opportunities that will boost your grade. You can get C's and B's on the test and still make an A overall, and she wants you to succeed! As long as you study the definitions (most are self explanatory) and go to class, it's an easy A.
Other than the fact there are frequent exams that aren't spaced out well, this class is not hard. Go to class and you will do fine on the exams. Having a B at the minimum is very achievable in this class. Go over her study guides, they're very useful for her exams.
Not understanding
Cherie Moman has to be the worst professor on campus. She does not seem to care for her students at all, and gives absolutely no grace with anything. She barley responds to emails and is rude when you ask her to clarify anything grade wise. Also make sure you check your grades because she seems to just take random points off for stuff you do.
She gives zero grace to students on anything at all. I missed one of the exams due to me being hospitalized and when I asked her for a condensed study guide for the comprehensive final I was met with a very rude response that boiled down to no. She is rude and has zero compassion for anything.
All the people leaving bad reviews are part of the 60+ students who never come to the lectures. I've stayed after class multiple times to talk to Moman about issues with grades and she was very helpful. The class is so ridiculously easy. Just come to the lectures, do the homework, and study a night in advance.
THE worst professor I have had at UA! Her classes are mandatory, and they are so boring. She sounds like a robot when speaking, and reads directly off slides. Her exams are very difficult, and the study guides have nothing to do with exam. Only plus is that she does offer extra credit.
If you keep up with the homework, projects, and study a night before the test, you should have no issues. Mrs. Moman is a lecture-focused teacher, often sounding robotic or going on unrelated rants, which is where I struggled. She is always open to helping whenever, but better to just keep to yourself in this class and teach yourself the material.
There is no reason this class should be anywhere as hard as she makes it. Mandatory attendance, slideshows display basically no notes so you're struggling to write down what she says before she moves on. The study guides are just a long list of terms no practice or anything. Her exams are worded very poorly making them harder then they need to be.
She is quite possibly the WORST professor I have had at UA. Mandatory attendance when she teaches nothing of value. Went to every single class and didn't get above a 70 on any test. Offers a ton of extra credit which saved me but I learned absolutely nothing from her.
This teacher is not accessible whatsoever. She doesn't grade assignments until the last minute and is not respectful in emails, yet expects us to be. Her teaching style is not helpful and it appears that she couldn't care less about the class. Would not recommend taking her.
Mrs. Moman's class is frustrating. Attendance via QR code is strict late submissions, even if you're in class, count as absences. Wi-Fi issues don't matter. Points are deducted harshly, and her tech policy forces students to sit in the front rows. The rules feel controlling, not educational.
I did poorly on the tests which most of the time was around the class average (low 70s) but if you do all the extra credit and not miss a single homework you will end up in the high B to B+ range. I know most Business and Marketing students are taking this for a credit so getting an A is achievable you just have take all extra cred opportunities.
Did poor on the tests which were class avg (anywhere from 65 to 80 range) and ended up with B+ to A- range. The class points are structured where if you do ALL the homeworks and ALL extra credit opportunities you can still end up with a relatively good grade even if you bomb the tests.
She had our final grades up on blackboard, then let us know out of nowhere that she made an error in the grade book the same day grades got finalized. This brought me from a B- to a C+ after spending all week thinking I brought my grade from a C+ to a B-.
I am confused by all the negative reviews. If you come to class and study the study guides she sends out, you will be fine. The extra credit she gave out alone bumped my grade from a B+ to an A. Just go to class and pay attention and you'll be good.
Lectures are extremely boring and attendance is required. You can miss 5 unexcused classes, but after that attendance hurts your grade. No devices allowed—even in huge lectures—and she'll call you out. Honestly seemed pretty harsh and unapproachable. Not the most enjoyable professor. I would take her class again bc the exams and material were easy.
