Take Converse she is the best! Easy to pass her class....
Not very clear, and goes through material very fast. If you are failing the class by the final she will pass you based purely on the final.
I DO LIKE HER, BUT AT TIMES SHE IS CONFUSING, SHE IS REALLY UPTIGHT ABOUT THE HOMEWORK AND OTHER THINGS,BUT OVERALL, SHE IS A GOOD TEACHER AS FOR AS HANDS ON THINGS. SHE GOES OVER THINGS SHE WANTS FOR THE TEST. I THINK SHE IS A GOOD TEACHER, BUT SHE COULD BE MORE OPENED ABOUT OUR IDEAS.
She is a good professor. No surprises on the exams or final. If you study, you get an A.
she is a great math teacher. sometimes she goes too fast, but she is fairly easy. just study for the test and you will get an a or a b
She is super nice and very clear on what she wants. If you pay attention and slightly study, you will get an A. The final is all three tests put together with new numbers for the problems... so study your old tests and you will do fine on the final. The group project sucks though... she grades harder on those. overall a great professor.
Fantastic teacher. She is very clear and will work with you on a problem until you understand. Tells you what is on test and it will be there. The final is based purely off of first 3 exams. Soooo easy. No suprises anywhere. The project can be fun to.
She is a very easy teacher. There is alot of homework but she goes over it at the begining of class to make sure that you get 100% on your homework packets. She's really nice and always willing to help
She was a terrible prof. At first she seemed kind and knowledgeable, but for struggling math students such as myself she gave absolutely no consideration. Her lectures were rushed, exams were difficult and she was not all that nice either. BOOO Prof. Converse!
She goes really fast, she is really stuck on "her desk, "(which DONT EVER TOUCH)she tells you want is going to be on the tests, but their is NO half credit. Homework... plan on buying lots and lots of paper. If your going to try and get a hold of her through email or on the phone she doesn't respond. I agree with the student's below comment!
She goes really fast, she gives way to much homework over 100 problems and grades only 2-3. test are hard class is rushed she spends very little time on one topic She was a terrible prof. she wasnt nice, she didnt care even if you tired hard her grading sucked.a huge project was only worth 7% of the grade...
she was a great teacher. she did go through the material quickly, but that is a good thing to some students. she is very organized and, yes, there is a lot of work, but it's pretty simple. she tells you what is going to be on each test, so you know exactly what to study. no new stuff on the final. the project is fun
So easy...i got just under 100% in the class. she has a lot of hands on stuff and makes learning the material fun. Goes kind of fast though.
Take alot of notes and ask questions, she doesn't mind at all. Quizzes are easy (3 questions at most) and come STRAIGHT from the notes. Tests are the same, no surprises and she just changes around the same questions from the notes/book/quizzes. Gives extra quizzes for more points. Highly recommended!
Converse was probably one of the best math teachers I've had. For future elem teachers, she's the one you want to take 303A & B with. She knows the mathematics portion of the class, and she also knows a lot about working with children. Project @ the end of the year is a lot of fun if you like teaching (you teach a math lesson to young students).

Goes through material fast. Extremely hard grader so write out EVERYTHING and u should be ok. Do the hmwk & go to class everyday and u'll definately pass. Ask questions and study study study if u want to get a better grade than a C. I had a high F going into the final and kicked ass on the final & passed w/a C+. So don't ever give up.
Really good professor. She know a lot on the subject and explains it very well. She goes over examples in class that are on the homework, your not confused. The exams are straight forward and come from the homework. If you do the homework and go to class, easy A. HIGHLY recommended for Business majors!
I loved her! She was very organized, easy to understand, and wanted you to do well in her class. You do have to do the homework, but it's pretty easy. You do have to show up for the pop quizzes. Because of her I passed the CBEST and CSET math portion with flying colors! Don't pay any attention to the bad reviews. Those kids must be idiots.
I love this class not because it was easy but she was a great professor. She explains things very clear but if you hate math, you will have to struggle. There are quizzes every week and three exam plus a final. Beware, an A is not very easy in this class. You have to work hard at it.
wow i can't believe all the good reviews. hard class quiz every week, does not lecture or go over anything all u do is play stupid games in class then go home and have to read the whole math book to understand because she didn't lecture on anything and when she does its VERY FAST so u cant comprehend. does not even review the homework questions
do not recommend this professor. there are def easier math professors for 303a and 303b than converse. gives so much hw & only corrects 3 problems. super anal about everything. goes through material super FAST does not go over hwrk or lecture on hwrk problems which means u have to figure out how to do it on ur own. way to much work and tests/quizes
Worst teacher ever if you hate math! Always problems on tests that were never covered in lecture, she even admits it. Assigns too much homework and only corrects 3 problems. Goes through material very quickly and expects you already know the material.
Expects a lot from her students. For students who r not good @ math, u'd have to work like u never ever work in ur whole entire life to earn an A. But she has office hrs & she's willing to help anyway she can. But she is tough so this is not an easy A.
She gives quizzes every week and 4 tests total. Everything comes directly from lecture. Takes roll and gives a lot of hw which is collected every few weeks. Very helpful, energetic and explains things well. I HATE math and passed with a B+ (would've had an A if I wasn't absent so much).
Converse grades too hard! Only corrects three on homework, even if you show work on a problem if it's wrong she gives NO partial credit! Only gives 3 tests entire semester, and the final and 2nd test are in the same week. Will give a 0 on test problems if they aren't right! Won't give partial credit, her class is joke, run away
She is hands down the worst lecturer ever. My notes from her class were incomprehensible. I didn't know what I was looking at by the time I got home. Everyone else had the same problem. She teaches off the projector using preprinted slides! It's horrible. As other people have mentioned, she grades too hard and the final is worth 50% of your grade!
Did not like, grades only three problems per homework, miss one you get a C, two you get an F. She varies alot from the text book so when you study it get very confusing as comparing her notes to the text book you will find that they go about solving the problem in completly different ways.
She is just not good. Gives too much homework, then only grades 3 problems. Too much work to not receive credit for all of it. There is too much busy work and not enough time spent actually explaining the math. Do yourself a favor and take someone else.
This class is not easy. But that is more because of the subject matter than the teacher in this case. The textbook is absolutely HORRIFIC (read the amazon reviews). She does a great job despite the terrible book. She takes attendance so long as you show up, do the homework, and visit her office hours when you need help, you will do well.
By far one of the worst professors I have ever had. She is very had to learn from and she gets confused from her own words. She confuses her students and makes the concepts of the lessons harder than it really is. If any freshman are enrolled in Math 125, I advise you to stay away from this professor.
Books are required for homework. Material was easy for me to understand, much easier than 270A. She is the ideal Math teacher; recommended all the way. I managed to have a 98% up to the final (only lost 4 points on homework, 100% everything else; never studied or asked for help). Attendance counts towards grade. No tricks or gimmicks.
Great at giving lecture. I didn't understand Calculus in high school but this professor made it very clear what she wanted. She provided examples to each type of problem and provided further explanation when requested. Tests were easy, straightforward, and mainly based on lecture.
I took this class and passed barely. Lectures are okay, but it is hard to concentrate in class with no sound but her voice. Other than that it is a relatively easy class, and the teacher is understanding so any mistakes or late assignments she will accept if you have a legit reason.
I was really scared to take my first college math class. I would recommend taking this class, very small class size so she helps you 1 on 1 with any questions you may have. Keep up with all the webassign homework, t.i.d's, show up to class, and study for the tests. You will pass!
this class is so stupid... i took this class thinking it would have been an easy A but it wasn't... I'm my opinion this class is very pointless, and she just made me even more confused than I already was... I would try to avoid this class.
If you do the homework and show up to class, you'll get an A. The material is pretty easy and even if its not, she is super helpful and always happy to answer questions. She tells you exactly what's going to be on each test as well.
Her classes are mainly by online, homework is done there as well as the lecture. When we meet up in the classroom, she goes over what we learned in the video that we see at home. Her test are easy if you really study and do all homework.
she just does not make sense. she does not really teach you. all is online lessons for like 2 minutes and you are on your own... still taking the class and i hope i pass
Very helpful professor! I have always struggled with math, it is not my thing but I passed the class. Take her she makes the class easy and was very helpful. Tests are tough so be ready to study hard. As long as you study and go to class you pass!
Professor was horrible. The class is flipped which means every class period, one must fill out a ticket-in-the-door. Honestly, all that she was there for was basically reviewing what was on the online module. I have learned nothing from that class, also exams are pretty difficult as well.
Best Math professor I have ever taken. She gives you time to practice problems in class. She gives you homework every week and that is manageable. High recommended for Business calculus.
She is a great professor! You can tell she really loves math! She gives many examples to each lesson. Whenever you are stuck and don't understand a certain concept, she will clearly explain it.
Wonderful teacher! I really enjoyed her class. She does a great job of explaining math concepts. Do not buy the textbook, you totally don't need it. You will need a WileyPlus code, but buy it through the website without the book. I never touched that thing.
Her Liberal Math 110 class is amazing. I saw her rating and honestly I was worried I'll have a dry teacher, but she is so nice and her classes are really fun. It's a reverse classroom, but I think it works really well. We get to do fun stuff in class, like compete in groups or play with counters (yes, counters, as in pre-K).
Dr. Converse is a gem! She gives you insight on how to teach kids in a way that keeps them on their toes. An amazing role model, elementary teacher and college professor. She uses the online homework system and does weekly 2-3 question quizzes and a few exams but nothing on material that has not been taught. Highly recommended!
Talks to her students like their children. Says she is going to go over homework and help us, but only does it sometimes. Does not really prepare us for exams.
awful. her online modules are not helpful at all, neither are her ticket in the doors. her excuse for not helping in class is, this is a flipped classroom. she gave me an unnecessary lecture when i asked for a STUDY GUIDE. i am failing this class, i dont even go anymore cause i dont wanna depressed. dont take this if youre bad at math save yourself
Converse isn't that bad. But the class is flipped so you watch videos at home and fill out TID to get credit for the day. Does an activity related to video, then homework online. She is always willing to help students and will answer any questions. Gives a "what to know" for the exam of the concepts, and goes over problems the class before exam
The flipped classroom doesn't work for me. Also don't buy the textbook because you'll need to buy the code to do hw online and youll get an e-book. I never used it though. She's nice but doesn't reply to emails and is just boring and kinda just irritating. She seems to think everyone understands. Willing to answer questions though.
I have never been great at math but Dr. Converse helped me understand and do great at math. I definitely wish that I would have taken advantage of her office hours sooner. The first test I got a D but after going to office hours and paying attention I got an A on the second test. She's a miracle worker!
I am not a fan of her tests. Each problem is worth 10 points so if you miss a few you're screwed. No partial credit given, so if you are prone to making small mistakes do not take Dr. Converse. She does not reply to emails. 10 points per problems is ridiculous, I have never had a math teacher make each problem 10 points. RIDICULOUS!
Dr. Converse is very nice and can help you, but get ready to do a lot of homework. Also, she tends to teach you the easiest versions of math problems but for the homework, she gives the most difficult ones and doesn't teach you how to do the more difficult problems. If you don't understand the homework, you have to ask her personally.
She has a flipped classroom setting which was challenging at times. She is very good at answering any type of questions thrown her way and makes it clear what needs to be studied for any tests. She is a little too strict about things, she needs to loosen up a little. Oh and don't forget to do all your Webassign assignments, there are no make ups!
Dr. Converse takes the class very seriously and actually tries to help her students pass. She teaches a difficult subject, so a lot of people struggle with it. As long as you pay attention, do the homework, and study the study guide (which is exactly like the test) you will pass. She is always available for help outside of class as well. Great prof
She took the time to help us understand the concept better.
Grades hard and doesnt explain material well.
She explains her lessons very clearly which makes it easy to understand. She gives homework every week and its easy since theres example videos you can follow. She helps you out if you dont understand something. Tests are easy if you study throughly. Video modules every week which are easy. Pretty easy class!
Her handwriting is hard to read and she records on a whiteboard rather than a digital medium. Webcams and mics were mandatory to be on at all times during the lecture. She offers no resources or packets to study from outside of class. We have to print our exams still. Overall I would not recommend her online class.
She is a nice lady but she doesn't know how to teach the students, she seems like she knows what she is talking about but she can't say what she wants, in other words, take her only if you have had previous experience on calculus or have taken pre calc, otherwise stay away.
Teaching math over zoom, no problem for Professor Converse! I've never been good at math, but the way she breaks down problems and makes herself available to help you over zoom outside of class was awesome. If you have to take Math 303B take her! Wiley sucks, but the tests aren't based on that, based on in-class examples
Dr. Converse did a great job at teaching. She guided students step by step, and she made sure that her students understood the material. As long as you take notes and do the homework, you'll do an excellent job on the tests. For someone who took Calculus 150A for the first time, I recommend taking her class.
This class is a nightmare. There is so much homework, you have to constantly be ahead, otherwise you're behind. The flipped course is just not suited to properly teach students, especially in the online environment. You often have to fully teach yourself the concepts and the TAs were more helpful than this professor. Good luck.
She uses a whiteboard, so its pretty much impossible to ask about anything after she erases. Her lectures are NOT engaging at all. She rambles on through every lesson and barely explains why she did what she did. This class is for students who had prior calc knowledge in high school. Otherwise, please save your GPA and avoid her class.
Quite possibly one of the worst math teachers i've ever had. Flipped classroom style learning which does not work well online, frustrating lectures and talks to students like children most of the time during class. This class may be better in person but I would hesitate taking if you are online.
The worst class I have taken at CSUF. Professor Converse does not clearly explain the material and she messes up so much during class that we end up correcting her. I honestly stopped paying attention in class because I was leaving lectures more confused. The flipped course structure means you will be teaching yourself. I wouldn't recommend.
Professor Converse was a very kind teacher. If you need help with work, she's very patient with you in office hours and works with you best she can to have you understand the material. She does give out a lot of work and she does mainly focus on stuff gone over in classwork. Overall you're going to need to work pretty hard but she's very helpful.
This class covers easy material--there's just a lot of it. Three exams, homework after each class, and quizzes due before each class. You also have to submit any work you did in class. If you're good at math, you'll love this class. Just make sure to study really well for the exams, especially the final.
She doesn't explain things well and she uses a white board to teach us examples and expects to learn everything and do every piece of work that she's giving us by watching 10-15 minute videos
Just take this class with Moretti. You'll thank me later. Her canvas is always unorganized. It's a "flipped" class and her lecture videos that we watch before class are extremely outdated and doesn't prepare you for the HW. She doesn't lecture. We play games in class. Moretti subbed for her once and he actually spent time overviewing the material.
Do not take this class!! This class is a flipped course and her videos suck and are so outdated. She can't even teach. Horrible at responding to her emails and doesn't answer any of your questions at the end of class because she always rushes to her next class. This professor doesn't even care about her students and doesn't listen to what we need.
I don't understand anything that she taught. She is such a pushover and comes off as if she doesn't care. Like I genuinely am so lost in class and I feel like I am going to fail this class. I am not even a math major and I wished I dropped of this class early on, she makes me HATE math even more.
You're paying for your education and this professor isn't going to do you justice. If you plan on taking this course be prepared for tons of homework, classwork on top of that you have to do these paperwork called Ticket out the door (TID) the night before. As for the exams and quizzes, there isn't any multiple choice question and very little time.
Don't take this class. I'm not even all the way through it and its super stressful. Dr. Converse will not show you your current grade in the class, she will make you calculate it on your own in and Excel sheet. The lectures are not long enough and what is not taught in the lecture you need to learn about on your own through the poorly made textbook
Shes very hard to reach and doesnt teach her classes in a way that everyone can understand. Shes very condescending sometimes when you have issues that need to be addressed or if youre confused. I had to get tutoring and I still dont pass her tests and surprise quizzes, I go over the material all the time. Not sure Ill pass the class.
Don't take her! Her teaching is very confusing because she moves too fast and doesn't know how to manage her time. Gives you activities that are meant for elementary schoolers that just end up making the lesson more confusing. There is a lot of homework every night which is always way harder than what you do in class. She doesn't teach effectively.
DO NOT TAKE IT! SAVE YOUR SANITY!!! To keep it short, her teaching methods are awful, you have to teach yourself the material beforehand by watching super boring and long videos that make no sense. Afterwards she goes over it in class but so fast that it's impossible to understand anything. Also it is impossible to reach out to her about grades...
Dr. Converse was helpful at times but breezes thru the work pretty fast, making it kinda difficult. Especially when its nearing the end of class. Some of her explanations werent the best but the web assign homework clears it up a bit.
Teaching methods are very unhelpful, and the teacher assistants that she uses to help teach the class sometimes don't know what's going on either. Like at times students would ask them questions that they wouldn't be able to respond to, and I don't blame them as the professor is the one who is supposed to distribute the knowledge to the assistants.
Can not stress this enough DO NOT take this course, you are better off taking math 115. Dr. Converse is very unclear while teaching, excessive homework and we normally have to correct her work because it is wrong. She is kind and does give you extra points on tests but overall this course is so hard and basically you're teaching yourself. Hardclass
This was suppose to be an easy class but it was not at all. She never answered my emails, her tests were so hard, she never actually taught, there was so much homework, and overall an awful class. I dont recommend anyone taking this.
This is the worst professor you could ever get. She cannot teach. She cuts down test time and starts the test late. She would not give anyone time to finish the test even though we had less time because of her. Forget even being taught math. She gives you a 10 minute video and expects you to know the material already and pass. Do not take her.
I wonder who hired this Terrible teacher . Very anal and super inconsiderate. Doesnt know how to teach well. She is a copy paste teacher. IGNORES emails. Only cares about her paycheck.
We used WebAssign the whole semester for hw. It's a flipped class so we basically taught ourselves and she would just review it in our Zoom lectures. She's really nice, but can be confusing at times. Ask lots of questions. If you just get the TIDs and WebAssigns done, you should be fine.
Be ready to teach yourself the material.
When I took her class, I wasn't aware it was a flipped class, so I had to teach myself most of the material. It's relatively easy, and I passed all her exams, but she doesn't teach well and gives a lot of homework.
She is a great professor! Her explanations are very clear and easy to understand, so it makes math seem easy. Her exams are not bad as long as you study and go over the math problems. One thing I don't like is that she never posts grades, but it is pretty easy for you to keep track of your grade on your own. I recommend her!
I will never be the same after this class.
DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS!! She's rude, and doesn't give extensions or let people retake the tests if someone has an emergency or tech difficulties. You also have to teach yourself everything because it's a flipped class and she doesn't answer questions clearly. The worst teacher I've had here. Only take this class if you know everything about stats.
Absolute hell of a class. Little to no actual help from the professor or the TA's, never reminds us of our homework, forces us to spend over $100+ for some janky homework portal, almost never uses the textbook or workbook she forced us to buy, and on top of all that, never even allowed us to see our grades, and forced us to do it ourselves.
Hard class, good professor! Lectures move VERY fast- be ready to take notes quickly. Grade depends heavily on exams. Tells you exactly what to study for exams. Homework every week. Participation required! The class is hard, especially for those not good at math. Is she the easiest A? Absolutely not! But the A IS possible if you put in the work.
One of the most incompetent teachers I've had in my life. I was in a 120-person online class (which I don't even know why they offered this) and all she did was go over the concept once and then threw us into breakout rooms with 1 TA each (I think there were 4-5 breakout rooms.) Offered no help with issues within the class.
WORST PROFESSOR EVER. I am not a fan of math but she managed to make it my ultimate hatred. It is so foul how she managed to cram so much useless information in a single semester math course! She even had us to pull out scissors and glue for an assignment that she never mentioned in the past! Her tests are HARD, DO NOT TAKE!!!
Test are very hard and just loads you with a bunch of work not really going into detail or really teaching it. She was also very passive aggressive and rude when asking a question.
Well she was alr, lectures seemed really rushed, TA's aren't even helpful. She has given extra credit to the exams which is nice. you need to purchase a 90$ online book/website in order to do hw. Hw is hard, but website provides videos for guidance which is alr. 90$ is still a lot. sounds annoyed at questions asked and doesn't really teach good.
DO NOT TAKE HER. One of the worst professors I have ever taken. She does not care why you miss class and actually accused me of missing her class on purpose. TEST HEAVY!!! The tests dictate your grade. 60/70% on all of them. Almost everyone I know failed. YOU teach YOURSELF. She does not inform your TAs. No study guides and proctored tests.
I saw the reviews, but for MATH 170B (used to be 270B), she isnt rlly that bad. Caring, explains carefully, and overall material not too complicated. Only complaint is that she uses lyryx to do hw and its usually pretty hard and tedious. But her tests honestly seem very easy and similar to the review. overall, not bad, wouldnt worry much taking it
Worst professor to exist not only do you pay for texts book you pay to do your homework. Her TAs grade harshly and do not help when you need assistance. You learn on your own or from your classmates. Do not take this class with this professor drop it.
The worst professor ever! Do not take. Lectures were not helpful at all. She barley explained and she would put you in breakout rooms and have to figure it out on your own. Everyone was lost and TA's didn't do anything. Take advantage of her extra credit.
would've been better if it was in person. she goes over material in class, but it's not the clearest in my opinion. some topics felt way too easy, that time could've been used more in teaching us about other topics. despite online class, exams were in person on computer, but the formatting wouldn't accept our answers despite being correct.
The professor puts effort into helping students, with many extra credit opportunities being provided. She's a good professor, but due to the class being online, it may be difficult for people that aren't good at math and independent studying. If you want to take an easy GE course and don't want to spend $120 on class material, look elsewhere.
Converse's lecture for Math 170b was clear with no foreign accent. Online homework with unlimited attempts, 2 midterms and 1 final with each exam having 1 extra credit problem in the end and no quizzes. She gives out an exam review before the exam starts and it is almost identical. If you know how to do the exam review, you'll do fine on the exam.
Worst professor ever! You have to buy a textbook of almost 200 dollars and it's barely used. You mainly buy it for WebAssign. The WebAssign is homework but it counts for almost nothing for your grade. Her lectures seemed rushed and I felt like I learned nothing. If you can take a different professor. Better yet take this course at community.
Do NOT take her! one of the worst professors I have ever taken! she will not be consistent when it comes to reading and responding to emails, and especially since it is a Zoom class, it makes it even harder to reach out for help if you need it. You pay $100+ to do homework and She has attitude, and you basically teach yourself in this class.
Great professor, explains things clearly, and has an American accent.
If you do the homework and pay attention, you'll do fine. The only downside was the online homework, which was tedious. I advise doing really well on the first 3 exams since the finals are cumulative. She teaches well and is easy to understand. However, this is a filter class, so I'd recommend external learning resources if you struggle.
They have a lot of homework but the homework is easy. The professor does explain again if you ask her to. All of the assignments she has kinda cushions your grade if you happen to get a C or B on the tests.
Did not update Canvas, made you calculate your own grade, wasn't very flexible or understanding of student problems/issues (especially online). Made us pay about $100 to buy an online textbook in order to do homework. Textbook itself was barely utilized. Also made you buy her workbook, which was just busy work. Be prepared to teach yourself.
She is a very good professor, but overall, she speaks too fast. Does not trust canvas grading, so in return, you have to fill out your own spreadsheet. lectures are lackluster and not explained thoroughly. As homework covers nothing that will be covered in the test, it is a waste of time.
I highly suggest you find another professor. Though she is a very kind person and does care about her students, the way that she teaches is useless. To even access homework you have to pay almost $200 and a $15 workbook. Please, find any other professor because she will not make your semester easy.
Her 170B class is great. She gives out exam reviews which are super helpful, her notes are straight forward, and she's also very caring for her students. Her grading isn't super strict, she cuts you a lot of slack. The online homework kind of sucks, but it's really not the worst thing in the world. Way better than Nathan Hall IMO...
Really tough professor to begin with. She could be kind, but in the outside of things, this doesn't stand out for me fairly well. In the meantime, we are actually working a solution for the next upcoming school year to let students use Studocu so they can ease off pressure through webassign, TIDs, and our past exams. So stay tuned for that.
You gonna be teaching yourself and it's undescribable how bad it was. Taking her course should be your last resort.
The homework does not correlate with the class lectures at all and most of the time it ends up being harder than what is actually taught. The tests are relatively easy because they are 1-1 of the questions on the provided study guide. She gets confused when students ask questions because it seems like she did not prepare to lecture.
I'm not the best in math but this math course real life did not make sense. Converse published the work book we had to buy, and she really was the only one that could understand the work. Then I was having issues with my books and work in the beginning of the semester and tried to reach out to her for help, and she was no help at all.
Worst professor I've had in my life. Not helpful, pretty much useless. You do everything including grading yourself. Do not take this class. One TA in particular grades with personal feelings. Just horrible all around, very limited tutoring options with a massive load of homework. If Dr Converse appears under the name do not take it. - Mitchell T
Prepare to teach yourself in this course. While the professor is kind, the class structure makes it difficult to succeed. Utilize resources like unstuckstudy and past exams to ease the burden.
Professor Converse is a really good professor. Her lectures are very clear and concise. I thought her lectures were really helpful for both the homework and the exams. Her reviews are super helpful since the reviews she gives are the same as the exams. She does give extra credit on the exams. Highly recommend!
This professor only cares about her own time. She expects the students to grade everything on their own on a "grade sheet" which is very confusing for some people. Don't take her class because you will be teaching yourself the material and to make it even worse it is a zoom class.
I found her lectures really hard to understand. You would ask question and she wouldn't explain them but rather have her TA do the explaining when they didn't know how to solve the problem. The lectures are completely different to the homework. I took the same class with another professor and didn't struggle. She's just not the best at teaching.
BE AWARE: if you struggle in math already I don't recommend taking this course! meanwhile many subjects were easy, the way she teaches make it seem more difficult than it is. Prepare to teach yourself and do your own grading. Did require having to purchase mandatory webassign & workbook for this class
Don't take her class because you will be teaching yourself the material, and to make it even worse, it is a Zoom class. The lectures are VERY different from the homework. Prepare to teach yourself or go to a LOT of TA office hours. You will have to do your own grading. She seems like a good person, but she's just not the best at teaching.
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. By far the worst class I've ever taken. I failed her class and no matter how much I tried I couldn't pass her class. She does not teach you anything you teach yourself. Please choose anyone else other than her.
She was not as bad as people made her seem I took her for a summer course. I will say it was very fast paced, so you just have to be willing to put time to actually do the homework. It was very easy to pass, but has alot of work to do. Alot of people were just lazy. She did give some extra points on exams and were very similar to the guides/reviews
Very nice prof, a lot of homework, but the tests are very easy as she gives out a study guide which is the test just with different numbers a day before the exam. As long as you do that, you will receive 100%. She is very nice in class and is very energetic, which wakes me up even when I'm sleepy.
