She is amazing, chill, young and hip. TAKE HER! I wish i could have her for all my classes, she is very cool and hard to fail.

This professor is awesome!!! Take her! There are five tests including the final, all oben book and some take home exams. There are two movie papers, a presentation over explaing an article you chose ( you also write a one page summary over it), and there is a major presentation. It sounds like a lot but she grades so easy! She is super nice and fun

She is a great teacher! There are so many opportunities for bonus points, I never made below a 110 on any test. All the tests are open book and very straight forward. She cares a lot about her students. I would definitely recommend her!

i enjoyed this class completely. although at times the course may seem and or be difficult, it's probably because you're not paying attention or doing your work. this class will be a breeze if you listen. the book is beneficial, and quizzed/tests are included with material from there. This class was very challenging a lot of work to do and make sure it was done on time. she does not let people in late during a test so recombined you're on time. The exams are challenging so study. she doesnt let you know what your grades are so try your best.

She's an awesome teacher. Very laid back and she's very energetic. She's also very humorous. We used the book all the time in the class so be prepared to look through it because she usually had slides she went through and explained in a little more detail about certain things. I would not recommend this teacher for psychology 2301. First off you do not get a study guide for tests so study VERY HARD. Also, the test questions are very indirect and(you wouldnt have thought it was important from the book). If you want to pass this class you have to really do the online homework which was fairly time consuming. good luck!

Don't take her online class! ): It was a horrible experience. She may be a good teacher in class, but online it is a mess! Assignments instructions are VERY vague and short, homework from the book is constant, and there is an overload of assignments. Nearly everyone in the class dropped out but me and a few others because it was so confusing. ):

She replied to emails very quickly and is always very willing to help her students. I took her online 3 wk mini mester. You have to be very focused and determined to pass. there are 5 papers, and 5 exams along with homework. very time consuming, but I am on my way to make an A, so it is possible. ALL APA format, so you may need prior knowledge.

Took the class online. Very easy class. Everything is straight forward and upfront. Complete at your own pace besides exams which can only be completed on certain days. The professor is awesome. She returns emails immediately and grades very fast.

She doesn't care for her students success. She believes she really is better than everyone else. All she cares about is getting through the material quickly and complains when we ask questions. Probably one of the rudest professors i've had. Not helpful. She gives no reviews and tests are never straight forward or out of the text book! Do not take!

Her class isn't very difficult you just have to do the work. However, she is one of the rudest teachers I have ever had. She looks down on her students a lot and seems to give preference/leniency to some students. If I had to take this class again I would not take her.

Her work isn't hard, her tests can be challenging. This professor makes you interested in psychology, her bad quality is her attitude. At times when you ask a question she makes you feel like "uh that's a dumb question, what are you doing?" I'm not sure if she knows that.. the way she responds can come off harsh. Get there on time, she's punctual.

RUDE! This professor has a horrible attitude. Worst experience ever. I wish I would have dropped the class. Total waste of time. Rushes through material, but takes time to talk down to her students. I passed her class but took the class over again with a different instructor because I learned nothing in her class.

She will be tough and hard on students who act up, but she will be a sweetheart if you do her work.

She is not a very clear teacher, at least online. All of her assignments are from the book's website, so it's not like she makes up the tests. The tests are not hard, but all of the assignments are to be written essays. She's a hard grader, takes a long time to grade your papers, and does not give feedback as to why. I would avoid taking her again.

If you're looking for an easy A do not take her. You have to study for her class a lot and there's a lot of assignments. She acts like she knows everything and gets really annoying. Got an A but I would not take her again

I have taken several college courses and have little interest in psychology but she was, by far, my favorite professor. If you show her you care about your GPA and the class, she will be just as dedicated to helping you succeed. She is funny, engaging, knowledgeable, and professional. I have never had such a caring and incredible professor.

To get an A in this class is very, very simple. READ THE SYLLABUS! There you go I just got you an A. several people in my class were upset about their grades but its because they didn't do what she asked. A lot of group work so if at all possible take with a friend you can count on.

Was worried about taking this class, but didn't realize how easy it was to pass! Really down to earth and funny. if you don't understand something, she will make it easier you for to understand.

This professor is one of the best so far. Her class is very easy to follow. You have 4 exams (they are projects, mainly videos). She is not a tough grader as long as you have your project ready on the day its due. She can get strict and sassy sometimes but it is impossible to fail. She has everything laid out for you in the syllabus.

There are no test. The tests are projects but it is easy if you make them fun. You choose at the beginning of semester to work with a group or alone for the entire semester. She is fun and easy to get along with unless you don't try then she won't care for you. The only negative thing was her statement always was "it's on the syllabus"

Don't take this professor. This professor does not treat students with respect, she talks to them like children. Despite doing every extra credit and incorporating research into my assignments she would never give me anything above a 90. Full time students this class is extremely time consuming. Do not form a group and get on her good side.

This was my favorite class this semester. Group projects are life or death. Some people who would have to work twice as hard because their partner(s) would not put in any effort. Amazing Professor! Gives lots of extra credit! 6 exams in total, out of which 5 are videos to be done with your group. Easy A if you read the syllabus!

If you put the effort into this class, she will respect you more. Your grade reflects the effort! Long sylabus, 17 pages. Read it several times. Anything you need to know is on it. She is good about answering any questions, but don't expect to be spoon fed directions. Listen and take notes about assignments.

At First She seems cool. She talks down to the students she has her days but overall everything you need to know is in the syllabus. Major grades are mostly video projects. If you have a crappy group you will get a crappy grade. Choose Wisely and get on her good side.

I took her over the summer. The class is mostly project based, but the projects are fun and creative. There is only one traditional exam and it's open-book. Everything else has to do with knowing the material enough to have fun like Charades or breaking social norms. Take her humor with a grain of salt and you'll be fine. Pick a good group!

This was my first semester back after taking a 4 year break from school, and she was not the teacher I should have chosen. She is condescending and rude towards students and did not want to answer most of the classes questions.

Considering she is a DR, she likes to take up class time to argue with students. She doesn't explain everything because everything is in her 20pg syllabus. She tends to have really bad mood swings also tends to miss her own class as well. Lastly if you asked a question regarding the projects she might get very irritated. Don't be late to her class.

She is definitely NOT meant to be a teacher!! There's favoritism towards students when it comes to grading. If youre literally 5 seconds late to class she will not let you in and will be really unreasonable about it. Your learn NOTHING from this class. She expects you to know the material before she lectures over it, so there's no point of her lecturing. You have to read the book on your own to pass the tests because her lectures are not very informative. She's very rude and tries to be intimidating. She's a really hard grader. And don't be late to class or you don't get to come in.

She knows her stuff, you will learn a lot of things that are applicable in the real world. Pay attention and be present in class. Ask questions and go to class with an open mind.

Took this class as it was the only psychology class still Open (Wonder why?) She is very ungrateful, Tries to intimate and look down on students. If you're 4 minutes late, might as well go home as she will Not let you in. She just does not know how to be a teacher. She is super mean, and she has no patience whatsoever.

Just walking into this class I become uncomfortable. She is so terribly rude. She will try her very hardest to make you feel stupid and inferior to her. She is so innapropriote and unprofessional. One of those types of people who thinks they are always right. It's not a wonder she's teaching psychology instead of actually working in the field.

It's such a dummy proof class, no lie. Professor Sawyerr provides everything in the syllabus and D2L step by step and with extra resources/examples. She also hands out extra credit like candy, so, so many opportunities to make an easy A. Just do the work and you won't fail. Super simple.

This class was easier than I thought it would be. It is very interactive and you always know what work is due because it is in the syllabus. The inclass discussions were ones that made you want to participate. Overall an easy A if you show up and do the work.

The class room discussions are very interesting, but do not completely explain or go over materials on the test. The online assignments are VERY easy to forget about since you do not need to read to understand the class discussions. The test are online and you have plenty of time to complete. I would have preferred to take online to actually learn.

Without a doubt one of the best professors I've ever had. She gives you every chance she can to give you an A, hands out extra credit almost every class, and follows the syllabus almost exactly. She has a crude sense of humor, so just know how to take a joke. I wish she taught more of the classes I need!

Dr. Sawyerr wasn't a very effective teacher. All tests & quizzes are online & open note/partner/google. There was a simple group project & a couple essays. All easy work, however I don't feel as if this class was beneficial b/c everything was "open book" Didn't take notes? No prob. She didn't really teach, just read the PP, that you can download.

Dr. Sawyerr's online psych was so much better compared to the large lecture hall experience I had the first time I took this course. She was very empathetic when I made an error, and really wants to see her students do well in the class! She give you plenty of chances for extra credit if you need it.

I took her class fully online over the summer. All her work is on Connect, she literally did not teach anything. A lot of easy assignments on there, plus an APA format essay every week. She doesn't accept late work unless you run it by her first. But if you do the work on time, youll pass.

Very rude. You would think that you will finally be treated as an adult in college, well not with her. I get that she's older but she does not have to humiliate students in front of the class. She will look at students dumb if they don't have a psychological answer when it could be just your opinion! Wait till next semester instead of taking her.

She makes you feel as uncomfortable as possible. Incredibly rude attitude and makes you feel uneasy asking questions during class, and lord forbid if the question you asked her is on the syllabus. And as another person mentioned, she humiliates students in class and tries to psychoanalyze every small thing making it impossible to have an opinion.

Be sure to attend class especially for Presentation days and when she tells you to do a specific assignment be sure to do it. Take advantage of all the extra credit opportunities. Be sure to keep up with the syllabus, be sure to always read the power points before class and be prepared to discuss or participate everyday. Her tests are online.

Her emails/announcements always have syntax errors (though she takes points off if YOU do, hypocrite), & she catches attitude even through an email. I'm beyond happy I never have to take her again.

Do not take her!! She will give you an attitude if you do not greet her as soon as you walk in and makes you get out and walk back in to do it... ridiculous! She treats you as a child and does not respect you as an adult. NEVER grades on time.

This class was a class I orignally hated cause of all the work, and sometimes even sass from the professor. But by the end of it I loved the class and I was so glad I was pushed at times and called out for being lazy and being able to do better cause this is college. Honestly one of my favorite classes and crazy that it was from lonestar lol.

Condescending and not good with communication.

Professor Sawyerr is an excellent teacher. I personal never cared for math and always saw it as my weakest point, but thanks to her! I no longer am afraid of doing the work. She really cares and wants the best for her students. However, make sure to attend class and do your work. Participation does matter! Lastly, I recommend her class definitely.

She went out of the way to help me succeed

Sawyerr was really tough in the 1st week of my 6-week summer class, but we talked things over and she was one of the best profs. A little outgoing- lots of class participation. also- say good morning/afternoon- she loves that. I got a high A on every project- just follow the rubric & work hard and you will be fine.

There are really no clear directions for assignments, then you look up and she gives you a lower grade without comments. Her communication with the class is very poor as well. She will not give direct feedback. The textbook doesnt help at all and is not used.

This professor literally provides no instruction. She just gives you the textbook and says to take all of the quizzes. The only instruction you will get is in the syllabus, she won't even answer questions about the errors in her syllabus. Overall vague so the grading criteria makes no sense, you can follow the syllabus to a T and still get an 80.

Dr. Sawyer lacks the professional decorum of a higher education instructor. If you prioritize grades over receiving a valuable education, this professor is for you. But, for those, like myself who doesn't only pursue high grades but a good learning experience, this professor will disappoint you. She lacks clear instruction and communication.

The one thing I can say without being rude is never take her. If you care about yourself and your sanity then please dont take her. If you see shes the only professor left then just wait to take the class another time. She is rude and is not willing to listen to her students since she thinks everything she says is always right, when its not.

She was very unorganized, and chaotic. She was unfamiliar with her own syllabus. The due dates were off, her announcements were off, quizzes were off, discussion post were off and everything was overly complicated because the organization was off. I am disappointed in this professor.

I reached out to her a lot b/c I struggled with online learning during quarantine. She responds quickly to my emails and even answers her cell after late hours. She is very detailed with her responses and organized with her assignments. She is caring and has given me an extension on an assignment when I missed the deadline due to work.

THIS LADY was HORRIBLE IM telling you I am a great student I love to learn but this woman is very unprofessional not to mention she is RUDE PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HER IM WARNING YOU she does not grade fairly and I have a 3.8 I barely passed her class if you care about your OWN MONEY and Grade do not take her

Do the homework and take notes

She's not a bad Professor, however she is very strict. The main thing you should know is that attendance is mandatory!! 20% of your grade to be exact. If you are taking her I wouldn't recommend taking her in the morning, and I would go to office hours! Professors are more inclined to help students they have a relationship with.

Please don't take this class. You will be failed for no reason. Didn't even learn anything
