She was a great professor all around very helpful, and undertsanding. I would recommend anybody to take her! :)

Dr Almeda is a very good instructor.Dr Alemda teaches her students with a very strong and caring aproch.I learned so much in the two semisters I took in her classes.Dr Almeda was so helpful when I was in need of help,or just someone to talk to when I needed advice or guidedness to a family matter.I would recomend others to take Dr Almenda's class.

She is laid back, nice, caring, and wants the students to succeed. She lets you use your books and notes on the quizzes (except for vocab) and turns in your homework a day late (get 10% off it though so if you want full credit, turn in your work ON TIME). I would recommend her as a refresher for reading in this course.

Dr. Almeda is a wonderful teacher and very caring. Yes, she gives a lot of work, but very simple out of the book. We work out of a text book and also use a vocab book. She will help you with anything she can, I have took other assignments to her from other classes and she looked over them with not one complaint. I recomend her to anyone.

Cheryl is such a great teacher! Her class is super easy and makes it fun for everyone! If your not getting at least a B in the class then you obviously aren't trying. She cares about how you do in her class and helps you tremendously on papers! I would definitely recommend this teacher to anyone who isn't a fan of English!

Had her when she was only teaching the TRS courses a few years prior to assuming the position as the Chair of the English Dept. To anybody majoring in English, if you have any questions or concerns regarding to when the Lit. courses will be offered and who will be teaching them, just email her or stop by her office to ask her.

It was hard to get used to her at first, but once I did her class was great. She tried very hard to get us to understand what was being taught, and even went over the homework with us after we had done it, to make sure we were doing it right!

Cheryl is probably the most helpful teacher on the KVCC campus. She will take the time to help a student until they get the material even if its blatantly obvious. If your looking for an easy A take this class.

One of the best teachers I have had at KVCC. She moves along at the rate of the slowest student in class, but her optimism humored me during the dull moments. Cheryl is incredibly fair in grading. She spends a lot of time on your work and is very willing to help you through problems you are having with her work. She actually grades pretty easy.

She is not a tough grader, not if you can write. She is very critical though, but that is beneficial to writers if they want to improve.

College Writing is a very good class to take with her if you're new to college. I would highly recommend taking her as a professor!

In order to get an A in the course, you must come to class every day since there's a quiz at the beginning of the session, which is open book/open note. You also have to participate in group work and critiquing on papers. Overall, it's not bad of a class if you take it with her.

One of the easiest classes I've taken. Very clear notes, but if you don't go to class, make sure you read the chapter! Cheryl is very helpful and responds to emails very quickly. Didn't try super hard and still got an A!

Class was always interesting. She takes attendance everyday, but class was fun so I didn't mind. Quizzes are given every few weeks but are easy as long as you go to class. She's not a strict grader.

She was one of my favorite ENG professors so far, the class was very simple, she let's you re-write papers if you do not like your grade, she's funny and a perfect ENG professor. Attendance counts toward your grade, so you have to show up but other wise what a breeze.

She was a great teacher. Show up to class and you will do well. She's the kind of prof that when you see her after class is over she still knows who you are and cares how you are doing. I strongly encourage everyone to have her as a prof for English 110.

You basically read the pages and then get in groups to discuss them, followed by presentations the next day. Very fun; easy A.

You do have to rewrite a rough draft which would be why its a rough draft. There is a lot of writing but if you are always planning to attend class you know what you are doing

There is a LOT of homework. Tons of writing but all of it is able to be reworked for final grade. She doesnt grade you until you turn in your final paper and lets you bring a rough draft to class so you can get help. If you show up for class, pay attention, you will get an A.

She WILL help you outside of the classroom if you don't understand something, even if it means walking you through the whole lecture.

Easily the best professor that I have ever had. She is clear, knowledgeable, and always interested in what you have to say. She helps anyone who needs it, even if it has nothing to do with the class and will help you with every step to reach your goals. Inspirational and supportive all the way.

She is a great woman, her class is just boring, so it's hard to pay attention. You will be taking notes galore, so get your hand ready. There are a few writing assignments, but they're easy and as long as you hit the main points she doesn't pay much attention to anything else.

Overall a good teacher. Lectures almost everyday but knows a ton of good info.

As a professor in her particular field she has a good level of knowledge on reading. She also claims to have knowledge in writing, which she does, but narrow in some respects. We had to write quite a few papers, but that is expected with an English class. Dr. Almeda was awesome. She was very reasonable and made really great comments on your work. She found a way to stop my procrastination of paper writing which is super appreciated. Take this class!

I took her Intermediate Reading Skills course nearly 5 years ago and even though the workload was quite hefty, it was worth it for an A at the end. I recommend not taking 12 or more credit hours if you're planning on taking this pre-req course with her.

Your grade is based on attendance, participation, 3 projects, 3 vocab tests, many assignments from the vocab book, "kick-off" quizzes, and journal entries. She's very lenient on late work and make-up tests, but be sure not to miss too many days or you will fall behind and not succeed in the class.

Stay on top of the coursework she assigns and attend class every day or you will struggle to catch up. The workload is no joke.

I had her 5 years ago, now fast-forward 5 years later, she's English Dept. Chair. If you have any questions concerning Lit. classes, talk to her. She is very helpful.

By far my favorite professor! Yeah, she challenges you and there's a lot of reading for class, but she facilitates great discussion and is really interested in what you think. She encourages students to form their own opinions but expects them to be supported. Tests can be tough because they're all timed essays but are fine if you take good notes

Dr. Almeda made this class. I am a science major, and needed a Gen-Ed. While I like to read on occasion, literature is not exactly my top priority. However, every class seemed to involve a thought-provoking and diverse discussion on the short story we had read. It was to the point where I did not feel as though I had to speak, but I wanted to talk.

I was worried about taking this class before I walked in, but Dr. Almeda was great! The class was very student-centered and everyone's input was welcomed and encouraged. Her assignments are relevant and as long as you do the readings (which are interesting), you'll do fine. I would definitely recommend this class!

I agree she is a great person, but she expects a lot of reading too, in a short amount of time. I am torn because I really like her, but at times I couldn't stand her grading. And she goes over the class time almost everyday. I am getting A's in all other classes, but hers. Very, very intelligent lady.

This teacher is very challenging but recognizes hard work, and it will pay off if she knows you've made the effort. She is very passionate about what she does, and makes each class very interesting. There is only one paper due, but you better work hard on it. I walked out of this class with a greater appreciation for literature, and a better writer

Professor A gave me a really great experience. She includes personal stories to give the material a more realistic and relatable basis. She's sometimes late but overall a really good professor and keeps the class interesting. Class is pretty doable as long as you show up and listen, and you earn the grade you deserve based on the work you do.

Almeda definitely cares a lot about her students and encourages them to do their very best, and while she isn't a tough grader, you should still attend every class that you can! Talking to her is easy, and she likes to keep in touch with her students even after they've passed her classes, so if you take her class, you will have a campus guide!

Cheryl is really nice and loves to talk and communicate with her students. I had her for TRS 104 Fall 2017, and the only thing we did was read and do some moodle responses with the textbook. In the class, she has you do a scavenger hunt, and meet with your academic counselor. She really wants the best for her students. She wasgoodat updating grades

Dr. Almeda is an amazing professor, I took this class for ENG 078, 099, 110. All of her classes are easy and the lecture is easy to follow if you struggle paying attention to class. She gives time to write papers. It is easy to pass her class, you need to put effort on the writing papers to pass, her papers are not that long and they are easy!

Professor Almeda is one of the best teachers Ive ever had. Every assignment had value and helped me discover what type of educator that I want to become. The textbook for the course was something that was actually interesting, not just busy work. I would highly recommend taking Foundations of Education with her.
