i absolutly loved this woman. she made the class fun and i learned alot with out much work at all. this class contains mostly essays, but she will help improve essays whole letter grade. i totally recomend her!!!!

5 essays in the whole semester and she lets you do a revision for each in order to get a higher grade. pretty neat! but you also have to keep up with the reading cuz she gives you a quiz every once in a while. but its not too bad as you have a lot of time from when she assigns the reading until she actually gives a quiz on it. very good professor!

Great teach! 5 essays, revisions optional on each. If you get a higher grade on the revision, then it averages with the original grade. No final. Pop quizes/daily assignments(over non-fiction book). Small attendance grade, but she drops 2-3 quizes/daily works/attendance grades. Good teach/extremely easy A, if you put a little effort into the class.

Took her for Eng 1 and am now taking it for Eng 2. She's a fair grader, and if you do her 5 essays and read the non-fiction book for the quizzes, you'll be guaranteed to make a good grade. Had her for 1301 and 1302. 1302 was a fun class, and even though attendance is mandatory as a grade, you only stay for about 10 minutes per class if even that. She's a fair grader and a good teacher! If you're decent at writing and attempt the essays, you'll be happy with your grade.

Good class, pretty easy, but I was hoping for more class time. I know some people like to only go to class for 10 minutes or so, but I actually wanted to be in class, learning, since that's what I paid for. But overall, good class, and she was very helpful. Lets students do revisions on papers, which is great! I'd take her classs again.

Prof. Wiltse is the best teacher to take for any literature class. I'm taking her for American Lit. 1 & will for Amer.Lit 2 next semester; we had maybe 5 short, EASY, essays & one presentation to give. Dr. Wiltse is a very fun, upbeat professor. Her class is an easy A, as long as you turn in your papers you should get an A on all of them. She cuts class short a lot too. Her lectures were very fun and all her papers only had to be 1-2 pages each. She explains all the readings to make you understand them better. I definitely recommend her.

Best english teacher. She gives 5 essays, and 4 labs but they are not bad. She even lets student's do rivisons on the essays. We had to read one novel. She gave only two quizzes over the book that were fill in the blank but not hard if you read. She normally lets out class early, but attendance is mandatory because she gives assignments in class.

First of all, attendance is mandatory. That?s pretty much her strictest rule. She is an amazing professor and truly cares for her students. She is always available for talking about things and she will even let you revise your papers. She had three quizzes and were all easy. I walked away with an A. I highly recommend her, I would take her again!!

Best teacher to take. She's crystal clear, honest, blunt, and let's you know what she expects and wants. If your taking her class in the summer, do not buy the book. She always puts one on reserve in the library. She's very helpful and very honest. I ABSOLUTELY recommend her, and with her as a teacher, there's no way you can't make an A!

her classes were so super easy it would be a shame to fail this class. taking this class over the summer was a piece of cake and i know if i actually spent more time on my essays i could have easily moved my b up to an A. she was a very laid back teacher i would definitly recomend her to someone who does not want a hard english class.

She really makes the class interesting and fun. It was a step out of my comfort zone, but I really looked forward to her class. I would take any of her classes.

She is very helpful and her assignments are very straight forward. Tests in 2332 are pretty easy. Read the required material, attend class, turn in your assignments-you'll get an A.

REally easy class! just write the drafts, edit them with what she suggests and the letter grade will go up by 2! she never had a full class which is nice. she is willing to help only if you ask!! AWESOME class. only thing that ticked me off is that she said we had to buy a textbook, but we never had to use it once....waste of money.

Dr. Wiltse was amazing. She explains things thoroughly and if you have questions or do not understand something, she will help you or give suggestions on how to find the answer yourself. I love that she allows you to revise papers because I believe you learn best by doing. She highly recommends using the writing lab to increase your grade.

Excellent Professor. Easy A if you at least try to do a good job on the papers. Any in class exams are easy if you do the light reading (Cinderella-4 pages)or listen to her lectures. Most days she just explains what she wants you to write, then dismisses the class. You get to redo your papers for a higher grade.

I took her for English over the summer. The class is supposed to be 2 hours long but she will just give you the writing assignment and say you can leave if you want. Had her during summer 1, she gives assignments, and directions with formatting and examples. Every essay had an optional revision, and the former essay would be returned before the revision and would have been thoroughly edited for the students sake. Mrs. Wiltse is very understanding and is willing to help anyone who asks.

We wrote a ton of papers but she gives you great feedback & you also have the opportunity to rewrite ANY paper for a better grade! She always dismisses classes early every day! There's always an opportunity to revise for a better grade. She has a good sense of humor. She is very open to questions after she dismisses the class. There are multiple outside papers but the writing center can help with that. she is a very fast grader. you will have your paper back the next day.

Solid teacher, I would recommend. If you give any sort of crap about your grade, then you will be able to get an easy A. no strings attached. Definitely one of the better English professors. Oh yeah, she also lets you write papers over stuff you like. So its really easy to meet the quota.

Very nice lady and awesome professor. She hardly lectures (good or bad depending on your view). Almost always dismissed early. Assignments almost every class (20% of grade); not difficult, but time-consuming. There are 5 essays throughout 1301 (60% of grade) and 4 labs (15% of grade); all can be revised. Final is an in-class essay (5% of grade).

Dr. Wiltse is truly an amazing professor. She cares about her students and wants everyone to do well. She also gives everyone the chance to redo their essays to earn a better grade. She makes really cute jokes and is very friendly toward her students. If you ever need help, Dr. Wiltse would not hesitate to give her feedback.

Easily one of the greatest professors. Being a student who hated English, she made Comp 1302 enjoyable. Allows you to correct your essays and bump up your grade, and only four essays per semester (2-3 pages and one 8 page paper.) Gives you class time to work on papers and is always available for feedback. TAKE HER!

Best English professor by far! Grades in depth, but gives you a deserving grade. Lets you revise every essay for a better grade. Is clear with direction, and is very sweet. Lets you leave when you are finished, I was probable in class for about 5 minutes most of the time. Also, lets you take an alternative exam thats not graded if u do extra credit

Fantastic teaching. I believe there were four essays, all of which were graded concisely and fairly. Had no problem with her. Really enjoyed her personality. If you do very bad on an essay, she will let you redo it, meaning you'll have another shot to get an A.

she is so sweet &chill you literally are in class for 15 minutes and then you leave. the dog stars and the zookeeper's wife are honestly good books but be ready for reading quizzes. 10/10 recommend , and try to make her your last class so you can just leave!!! yeah go dr. wiltse, yes she's a "doctor" she takes attendance tho so pls show up :)

Dr. Wiltse is the BEST english professor I have had. I took her for ENGL1301 and had to take her for ENGL 1302. She gives great feedback on essays and gives you the ability to revise in order to get a better grade. She is the sweetest professor and I highly recommend taking her!!!

She's the sweetest person and her class was so easy it was great. Easy A as long as you do the assignments. If you miss a few classes she will help you out, but if you never show up you'll do bad. Take this teacher you won't regret it.

She gives clear grading criteria, fairly grads assignments and give prompt feedback. She offers a chance for revising after her first grading your assignment. You will get a better grad if you revise it . Revising is very easy, because she already correct them on your paper, and you only have to correct them in you computer and print a clean one!

I recently moved to the US and as a foreigner I was very scared of this course since English is not my first language. However, Dr. Wiltse's way of fair grading with a chance of revision the essay once made it possible for me to have an A in this class. she also gives extra credit if you go to the writing center's workshops

English is boring to me and I didn't have any real interest in taking this course, but she makes it super fun. very forgiving as far as grammar and format and she even gives a chance to redo it. really funny and extremely knowledgeable. You are rarely in class for the full 50 minutes, the longest I have ever sat in her class was about 25 minutes. Dr. Wiltse is amazing! I took her for 1301 and took her again for 1302. There are a lot of assignments but they arent hard at all. She is very specific in what she wants from you and you get a second chance to revise your essay if you didnt do good the first time. Very hard to fail and she keeps class SHORT and SIMPLE. Professor Wiltses class was one of the best Ive taken at Collin. She occasionally gives second chances to redeem yourself and will always try to explain things as clearly as possible. There arent many papers to write and theyre all done outside of class. Professor has a passion for writing and she usually creates her assignments around folklore.

I LOVE her! She is a very kind lady who is willing to work with you. During the summer the workload was a bit heavy however during the fall the pace should slow down. At first, I was a bit scared that she was a tough grader/ teacher but this class is an easy A if you put in the work!

When you think about an English class, you automatically think about a lot of writing but it was not bad at all. They assignments were very easy. She explained very well on what she expects you to do. She grades pretty easy, as long as you do it and try your best. She gives great feedback as well.

Dr Wiltse class was definitely not a breeze because she is very strict on what she wants. However, she always gives us a second chance to redo our essay for a better grade, even if you receive a 99 on a paper you have the opportunity to redo for a 100. It is not a lecture class, most of the time you go to class turn in your paper and that's it.

She is a great teacher I took her for Composition 1 and 2. She lets you revise every paper you turn if you are not satisfied with your grade. I would get a B on the paper and revise and get a 95. She is a big supporter of the writing center so if you go for a workshop she gives extra credit. Most of the time you are only in class for 10-20 minutes.

You only go to class to receive/turn in assignments and she lets you out at least 20 min early. Grades in intervals of 5's(100, 95, 90, 85..), but lets you make up essays for 1/2 points back. Really sweet and helps you if you ask. Can make up failed essay to 100. Lots of essays though. If you do the essays, you'll be fine.

I took her for summer and passed with an A. It wasnt an easy A but it wasnt super hard either. She gave very clear instructions on what she wanted. She counts off for every little grammatical error but she does give you a chance to redo papers. If you just go to the writing center and put in a little effort this class is for u. Dont be lazy

This professor answered emails quickly. I had surgery done, and Dr. Wiltse was very accommodating and respectful. Not precisely a harsh grader if you follow the instructions and try your best!

I didn't expect to have her be a good teacher based on reviews, but she was understanding, i.e. I forgot to turn in an assignment, and she still graded it for me. She answers emails very quickly, within the same hour. I just didn't like her feedback and having to use Google Docs to turn in everything. Easy if you just follow examples.
