She's a pretty cool Professor once you get to know her and her teaching status. I've had her before, and I actually like her classes.
i would take her for Health Psychology but not any other class. Health Psyc with her is pretty easy. I got an A and i didnt have to study too much.
This teacher is really funny and cool. She curves a lot on the tests and gave one take-home test. I would take her again.

This is the easiest course you can take.No work, just a health fair project, and a take home final at the end.To bad she taking a sabtical next semester.I would definitely recommend taking her COURSES when she returns.She is hard, but it's worth it T.H.EX

This class was hard, but she made it understandable. I took this class during summer session II. It was a lot to do in one month but if you are goint to attempt this class do it in the summer - definetly the way to go. Love Dr. A.
Easy, easy class..almost a joke. Take it for you 500 level with her. She's such a sweetheart, everyone loves her. Take this class!!
Everyone says this class is cake...i guess if you are a psych major it might be, but if not beware. it isnt that hard but she is boring as all hell and she thinks she is gods gift to grading when in fact she screws up her own tests and penilizes the students for her own mistakes.
you might not learn a lot (lots of online tests with open book) but she's a really cool lady, and makes the lectures pretty interesting. very understanding teacher. i would take it again
I was very interested in taking a course in Health Psych & had heard a lot of good things about her. Unfortunately, the class turned out to be boring & the material was largely common sense. Armstead used PP slides for every lecture, but the exam material comes mostly from the book. She seemed nice enough, but I didn't really learn anything.
This class was really interesting and sweet. Dr Armstead has a good sence of humor and is really intelligent. No attendance mandatory, and the exams are all on line. This is definately a GPA booster class and you should not miss out!

Going to class helps because sometimes she has pop quizzes or tells you test questions. All exams are online and all answers are straight from the textbook (although they are often very cryptic or hard to find), so you MUST buy it. She's sometimes absentminded and messes up questions/answers on exams but always fixes. AWESOME lady!
This class is insanely easy and a total joke. Four exams that are all online; you can use your book, notes, other classmates, etc. for your exams. She even gives extra credit. It's sad this type of class exists at the college level, but if you are looking for an easy A without any type of challenge, take her.
Class is really easy, but she is very unorganized. Will cancel class right before class time, doesn't stay on topic, won't respond to emails, and doesn't return work on time. Don't go to class, she occasionally gives pop quizzes but there are so many points in the class that its really not worth it. Just do the tests.
She tends to talk down to students in class, but the exams are pretty much all from the textbook. The class makes the assumption that you are heterosexual, black, and southern. Don't fit that description? Don't go to class or you will be offended.
There is no point in going to class. Attendence isn't taken, and the token pop quiz was irrelevant due to the many other options for points. Also, she talks down to students and was rude to several of them. She does not host a friendly or inclusive atmosphere for most students to learn, which is disappointing coming from a psychology professor.
Don't take this class!! She never takes attendance & frequently cancels class. Posts all exams, extra credit, & 2 small papers on blackboard. She lacks communication outside of class and rarely responds to emails. A word of advice, if you take this class, find someone who has the old exams because she uses some of the questions from those.
Boring class, everything comes from the book, her class is really long and pointless. She never responded to any of my emails, is very unorganized, and left a lot of students confused by changing the syllabus like every week. But she's a really nice person.
This class consists of 3 online exams, and attendance at 3 health seminars w/ a summary from 2 of them. Overall, class is pretty easy. Tests can easily be completed using the textbook. Attendance wasn't mandatory.

3 forums and 10 at-home online exams. Very easy to receive A. Book is very helpful for online exams. Very friendly and approachable. However, she seemed very disorganized the entire semester.
You literally don't ever have to show up to this class. Pop quizzes are extra credit but you don't need them because all the tests are online and the answers are on google. She reads off the powerpoints in class and then posts them online. I never used the powerpoints for the online tests though. Easy A.
Dr. Armstead is great as a person, but she should never be allowed to teach. She is the most unorganized woman I've ever met. Her tests are online, but the questions don't make sense. She WILL NOT RESPOND TO EMAILS. EVER. Neither will the TA. There are EC opportunities. It's an easy A, but she made me so livid I do not recommend her at all.
As others said, very unorganized. I think I attended 4 of the lectures total all semester... and when I did go I wished I hadn't. Extremely easy class, I honestly felt like I shouldn't get credit for it I did that little work. Just an online test every week-two weeks that is straight out of the book or able to be found on google.
No attendance, but tests are really difficult and confusing. Will not learn anything in her class, but possibility for a high grade if you can deceiver her online test questions.
Dr. Amstead seems like a nice lady but honestly no one took this class seriously. All tests were online but a lot of answers could only be found in the book and not on the powerpoints. I only went to this class once a week to check in and see what was going on. If you want an easy A and dont want to go to class then take this
She will give you a syllabus that has dates on it from three years ago and tell you to guesstimate. All tests are online and quite frankly I don't think she wants to teach it in person. She sucks at responding to email so don't bother. Very easy class, but the stress over her lack of organization makes it almost not worth taking.
This class is amazingly easy, I highly recommend taking it. All the tests are online and the answers are straight from the textbook, which I highly recommend buying. Show up to class once a month to figure out when the tests are due, and you'll get an easy A.

great professor. she is extremely understanding and helpful. Although many of her lectures are not interesting, this woman knows her stuff. participation plays a part in your grade. If you will TALK TO HER & ask her questions (after class or during)SHE WILL HELP!Don't be a student that just attends class and leaves.

She has too many research project going on. Dr. Armstead is an good teacher, but is not organized. I learned a lot in the class, although there were a group of women who sat in the middle of class and complained about everything they could think of. I am sick of seeing discrimination among other students. She is really nice.
Dr. A. helps students get through tough times. She cares about us. Needs to be more organized. I only see her TA once a month in class..
Dr. Armstead is a WONDERFUL professor. She really knows her material. At times a bit disorganized, but that still did not affect her teaching. She is so sweet, talk to her after class or during her office hours, you will love her. The tests are from her lecture, so attend class. TAKE HER, point blank.
Dr. Armstead is incredibly laid-back. She cancelled class about half of the time, and we only took a few tests and quizzes which were all multiple choice assignments on Blackboard- very easy to look up the answers. She's a great professor if you have no interest in the subject and want a free A, but pretty bad if you actually want to learn.
Like most other people have said... Dr. Armstead is scatterbrained and does cancel class often. But she is really smart and caring. She can be frustrating at times to connect with, but will always give you extra credit surveys and does anything to help you pass. But you won't need to help to pass. Super easy class and definitely and easy A.
If Dr. Armstead shows up to class, her lectures are fantastic. She's absolutely hilarious. Too bad she missed 80% of our classes. She also doesn't tell you she's canceling until 10 minutes past class start time. She gives multiple choice exams on BB which are quite easy.
She is so funny and explains things so well. She cancels all the time but I did learn a lot especially if you do what she says.
Dr. Armstead is so funny and sweet but MAN, she drives me crazy. Very disorganized and constantly cancelling class and sending lots of last minute, confusing emails. Her classes are an easy A but sometimes it's not even worth all the stress she puts you through if you care about your grade/the content. Enjoyable person, frustrating professor.

She is very nice, but we did not have a single class for about 3 weeks at one point. Then she assigned up a health fair project and was 3 hours late to her own health fair. The tests are online and you can use quizlet to look up all the answers, so it is an easy A, but you definitely have to have patience.
Disorganized prof who prioritizes her research over classes. Cancels/delays class right before class should start - she cancelled from day 1. Not having class for weeks at a time gets frustrating when you cant get ahold of your own professor. When she shows up, its a waste of time. If you actually want to learn about health psyc take someone else.
Dr. Armstead puts up with alot. The wyners in my class distract us. She needs to be better organized, but she is a great professor. She looks out for her student's.
She may be disorganized but she knows what she is talking about. We have some complainers in our class that want grades given to them. I've noticed discrimination online about professors at the University of South Carolina.

TBH i'm not even sure what to say about her except she is very disorganized, tardy, and rude sometimes. If you personally speak to her she will give you whatever you need and the class is not physically hard it is just incredibly frustrating. Initially she would cancel class without warning or be 25 minutes late.
She was awesome!! By far the best prof Ive had so far at USC. It was a perfect mix of review and new material. The homework was easy
Very good professor. If you ask she will help you and make sure you understand everything. Her classes may not be easy but she will definitely help you along the way, you just have to ask.

Dr. Armstead is an amazing professor. I wish you was more organized. She engages with the class, and there's like tons of us in lecture. She tries to relate to us, whether it's by talking about currentt events or showing us videos that demonstrate the material we have been learning in class. Yes, you do have to attend lecture.

This class was an easy A. Dr. Armstead cancels class pretty often, but her lectures are engaging and interesting. This is my second course I've taken with her and she is one of my favorite professors. I highly recommend!
She is a very nice person, but her class is so scattered, nothing is organized, and it honestly isn't worth taking for the A when you have no idea what is going on the entire semester. Made us buy Reef for attendance and didnt use it until the last three weeks of the semester and even then she couldn't figure it out. Do not recommend, not worth it.
If you want to have absolutely no idea what's going on for an entire semester, this is the course for you! Our syllabus & assignments posted in blackboard are for her spring semester of 2018 class; meanwhile, I am in her fall semester of 2019 class. Currently have done 4 assignments for her class that I have no grades for and classes end in 4 days

I learned a lot and she was very helpful. When I had questions after class. She needed a real teaching assistant. Her ta would never respond to my emails. Dr armstead was quick to respond even on weekends.

Take this professor! I learned a lot and she was very helpful. When I had questions after class she spent a lot of time explaining study techniques.
Overall, I really enjoy Dr. Armstead. She is super nice and funny, and it was one of the few classes that I actually enjoyed going to. She assigns a lot of online homework, but in my opinion, it helps to reinforce the material. All exams are online, and they're difficult but manageable. My only complaint is that she doesn't really respond to emails
I took this as an asynchronous online course. The only assignments were Mindtap ones that were due at the end of the semester, and a midterm and final that were each around 100 questions. The exams were really easy, and I did the entire semester's worth of MindTap in a span of 3 days. Dr. Armstead is also super nice and is always available to chat.
Dr. Armstead is the nicest woman. She reponds to emails but it does take her a minute to get back to you. The class was an easy A. You can power through the mind tap activities at your own pace. Also- for the exams, you can have your online text book pulled up and you can actually search for key words from the test. That made the test a lot easier.
The entire class is on MindTap. She doesn't answer emails, the grading criteria is super vague, the tests are 250 questions each. It's an easy class as long as you stay on top of the work and do what you need to but if you have any questions, you won't get them answered. Easy A though.
Took the 3 week summer session. Super simple and interesting. One of the easier psych classes. Just don't expect Armstead to ever answer her emails. Reached out three times over tech issue and she never responded.
The layout of this class was perfect for me! Completely self-paced but there's a ton of homework assignments/quizzes you have to do through the website. I literally finished this entire class within a month and just had to wait to take the midterm and final (big tests). She definitely cares, only downfall is she wasn't the fastest returning emails.
Most of the class is done on Mindtap. 15 chapters. Each has a 20 question quiz, flash card set, and a few have little virtual labs that have unlimited attempts Midterm and final are 100 questions. She takes academic integrity seriously-avoid GroupMe and Quizlet. But really interesting material and not hard if you put in about an hour or two a week!
The classwork itself is super easy and not time consuming but there are two 100 question exams that are insanely difficult that is nowhere in the material??
I would take another professor for Psyc 460. She is so unorganized. She does not know how to use one drive for posting lectures. When I told her that the whole class does not have access because she did not share it with us. She blamed us for not being able to access it by a passive-aggressive email. The midterm and final is about 80% of your grade
Armstead is very disorganized and not the most tech savvy. I would get the same emails from her 3+ times in a row for no reason. She had trouble uploading lectures and thought it was our fault for over a week. I would recommend if you enjoy entirely self-paced online courses like myself and don't mind some mishaps. Very long exams, but easy A.
Seriously, everyone needs to get over themselves. This class was super easy. If you wait to the last minute to do your work, of course it's going to beard and annoying. And the professor is super kind and respectful. It's not hard at all, easy A. This is my second time taking her. It's college. Grow up. She's not on your schedule. Dr. A is a doll!
Professor Armstead is not the most tech savvy professor. The homework is all on mindtap cengage which takes a while to do. I recommend dedicating about 2 hours a week on them. Also there are only two tests but each are like 100 questions and open note so good luck. I did not learn much from this class but it was pretty easy for an asynchronous one.
I wouldn't take her again. It wasn't horrible but she put really no effort into the class because it was online. she doesn't ever respond to emails and is not great with technology. graded by only a midterm, final, and 17 percent hw. material was interesting but tests were very hard and specific (although online so you could use the internet).
All assignments are accessible at the beginning of the course so you can work ahead. Only two deadlines, one being in the middle of the semester and the other at the end of the semester. Very self-paced. Very easy and enjoyable class.
This class was easy, I don't know why people in the past have complained so much. There are quizzes and homework via Cengage that you can retake as many times as you want. The midterm and final (your only "hard" deadlines) also have three attempts. If you don't want to read/listen to lecture videos, then simply don't take an asynchronous class.
Absolutely hated how long the exams were, especially that 100 question final. The mind taps are mandatory but were easy, but she doesn't put the grades in for them until the very end of class. Make sure you do the mind taps!! Overall I'd recommend her because this was an easy class.
