Amazing teacher! Very clear notes and happy to assist in questions. The material itself can be difficult but she makes the material easy to learn. Personally i took her for calc1-3 and i will miss her when the semester ends, shes that good!

I love Mrs. Cantwell. I took her from MAC1105 to Calculus. She is an amazing and enthusiastic intructor who loves to teach and love mathematics. She is the reason why I decided to Major In Math. I will miss her!!

This is not an easy class, and if you don't do the homework, etc, you WILL NOT PASS, but she is always there to help and genuinely cares. Her tests are challenging,yet not impossible. Very clear and easy to work with. Lots of extra credit and do 10 hours of study group or learning center time & you drop your lowest test score. The homework is harder than the tests. I am not a math person. I had to take this class 3 times but if I had taken Cantwell to begin with, I wouldn't have had to repeat it so many times. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The best math professor i have taken thus far. Lots of HW but she gives incentives to do it. With 10 study group hours you get to drop lowest test. 4 tests including final plus hw grade which equals a test and that brings you up to 5 total. TONS of EC. I went through all three Calculus classes with Cantwell, and she is the best math teacher that SCC has to offer. Lectures are clear, tests are straight forward, and teacher is nice and extremely helpful. Her tests are intense, and you will do a lot homework and studying, but for her class, it's worth it. I highly recommend her!

For all of the bad comments: here's the deal: The only time Ms Cantwell will move too quickly is if you are not asking questions. She will also refer you to the learning center if your question is about basic math. She shouldn't have to reteach fractions in college algebra. I hate math. But if you go to class, DO THE HW, an A is possible!

Prof. Cantwell, will not make it easy. She will expect you to know your basics before entering, but she will still review them over with you. She also offers alot of Extra Credit, take it where you can. She's a very kind lady, but she will make sure that you know your math before you're done.

Down home but highly educated, Mrs. Cantwell is an outstanding teacher. Exams reflect homework and the professor is very lenient when grading tests. What an incredibly gifted teacher! If you don't understand something she is more than willing to explain. If there is not time in class you can go to her office and she is always very accomodating. I can not recommend her enough.

Very ggod teacher. She tells you the therom and then does on the board several problems that you might see on the exam. doesn't mind questions. for tests the problems are usually very similar to the problems on the test prep.

Ms. Cantwell is the best math professor that I've ever had. I have taken her classes from Trig all the way to Calculus 3. I wish she taught differential equations as well! If you go to class, do the homework, and study for the tests, even harder subjects are easy to pass. There is lots of extra credit, and dropped grades, which really help too!

Very Easy Drops lowest test score and give lots of extra credit. class was three hours and she gave us a break half way thru and i always left at the break and still passed with a b. does homework quizzes almost every class. Just 1 problem from homework to make sure u did it

I am taking her for intermediate algebra, she is very clear and makes sure you understand, she runs a website which will help you a lot... test preparations, extra credit and all other useful things. She moves a bit fast but thats how every math class ive had is. Lowest test score ive had is 82.

She is wonderful, I HATE algebra and she made it understandable. She gives you plenty of chances to earn extra points and can explain math like I have never seen. If you want a professor who can teach you the concepts so you can understand them, she's the one!

College Algebra is going to be a challenging class regardless of the teacher you take. Mrs. Cantwell does an amazing job with the material. If you come to class and do the homework, you really should have no problem passing her class.

This is an AMAZING teacher. The only reason I got a C was because I myself didn't do much of the homework on time. She offers a lot of extra credit and lets you drop an exam if you have 10+ study group hours(that saved my grade). She's extremely patient and really brilliant. Do your work and get an A :)

It is very clear from the beginning to end of the term that Ms. Cantwell has been teaching this for a long time. Yet she still tweaks the class each term... she has structured the class in a way that I can say is the most fair, solid, well-paced class I've ever gone through (had her for the whole Calc series). This class is very challenging but Mrs.Cantwell will do every thing she can to help you get through. The web-assign sucks but if you can do those problems you will be highly prepared for any of her test. Be prepared to truly to 8+ hours of math homework a week though.

I have had the pleasure of taking Mrs. Cantwell the past 2 semesters. I have made A's in both Calc I and Calc II. All you need to do is ALL homework, try the extra credit, and do the practice exams. Calculus is not for slackers. Be prepared to do 20+ hours of HW a week to be really successful. You do not need to buy a text, you can use E-book too.

Where should I start, Very excellent, clear on what she expects, but hard as well. Expect to spend 30+ hrs on homework and reviewing but at the end it will be worth it. I had the honor of taking her for Calc 1 & 2 and im also taking her for Calc 3. Some advice, make friends because you will need them, trust me.

Easiest college math course I've ever taken. She offers a test prep quiz and personalized homework for every exam, and they count as extra credit plus she offers other extra credit on top of that. Great teacher!! Its amazing, I took College Algebra twice prior to her class and failed both with other teachers. Then when I took her I got an A. But,SHE'S NO PUSHOVER. Very good professor! Material was clear as were directions. If you did not understand the material, you had to learn it on your own, which was fair. Only complaint is that she is a very boring lecturer. Being stuck in class for 2 hours was often times unbearable if you catch on fast to the math.

She does book examples as her lessons and the rest is on you. I am not really a fan of that style of teaching. I paid for her to teach and explain, not show me and let me figure out the rest.

I was nervous starting w a Calculus course after no math in 10 yrs., but Ms. Cantwell made my nerves go away. I've taken Professor Cantwell for practically every math course I've had to take. She is very fair with grading. As long as you keep up with the homework and go to class the tests are pretty easy. You can't completely blow off the class and expect to get an A. Do the work and you'll be golden.

Mrs. Cantwell is an amazing professor! She really cares about her students and wants to see you pass the class. If you do your part in class and homework you will pass with an A and get a study group together.

She is great. Took her for Calculus I. She is very helpful and clear. Gives a lot of extra credits including extra 10 points if you have more than 10 study group hours.

Calculus is a hard class but she made it easy to understand and she is always there to help.

Shes an awesome teacher! I havent received anything higher than a C in a math class since 3rd grade. Im so bad at math nd previously dropped this class 2 x's but she explains everything great, even when we missed days bcuz of irma. She gives so much extra credit u can raise ur grade a letter just by study groups. Dnt buy txtbook. Go 2 class 2 learn

Prof Cantwell is a master teacher. She is shinning example of what all professor should aspire to. I think she retiring soon. Take any of her classes while you still can!

I loved ms. Cantwell she was awesome and gives so many opportunities for extra credit of course you must study in order to pass but she makes it easy to understand the material.

Great teacher. Took her for college algebra. Really did a good job of explaining lessons and tries her best to help answer any questions you have and go over the homework or tests. I plan on taking her again for Analytical Geo w/ Calc 1

Best math teacher I've ever had. I struggled very hard for a B in a previous College Algebra class and worried that Calculus would be my hardest class ever. Professor Cantwell made it easy to understand and wants to make sure you succeed. Even if you are no good at math, you will do well in this class as long as you show up and do what she asks.

Her lectures are fantastic. Well organized, going through all the essential content that will be tested. There is lots of online homework, little extra credit. You can be exempt from the final. She normally reviewed for upcoming exam and explained what types of questions would show up.

Professor Cantwell is amazing! Coming from someone that struggles in math, I highly recommend! There are a few quizzes but you always know ahead what to study. Exams are very much based off problems you've seen in lecture or on her exam review. She breaks things down to make math so simple, I wish her classes fit in my schedule every semester.

She is passionate about the subject and it shows. I believe she legitimately loves teaching it and does everything possible to help you understand.

Never cared to come on this site but I couldn't let this one go unnoticed. Hands down best professor I've had. Do EXACTLY what she says on her syllabus/emails and you will SURELY pass this class. I took her for Online Calculus (made me nervous) but I definitely understood her lectures. Shes always responsive if you need extra help. Awesome teacher!

I was nervous about taking calc but Professor Cantwell really breaks it down. She reviews what you need to know from previous classes so you can understand the material that you're lecturing. There is a lot of homework but you REALLY need to practice it. I wish other professors took the initiative as she does to help us suceed.

Cantwell was such an amazing professor! She loves what she does and you can definitely tell by the quality of her lectures. Dont be afraid to ask questions if you dont understand whats going on! Calculus is a hard class on its own, but with Cantwell it seemed so much less intimidating.

She was a great teacher! I didn't go to class for anything except the tests. There is alot of homework through my math lab, but I feel like that's pretty standard for a math class. 10/10 recommend her!

Cantwell truly wants you to succeed. She gives amazing lectures and will thoroughly explain anything you have questions on. She gives an ample amount of extra credit. Her test reviews help to know what is specifically going to be on the test. Doing some, if not all of the homework for a current lesson will help in the next class.

Her videos are very well done and easy to follow. Online hmwk/ quizzes through WebAssign- very tedious/ time consuming entering in your answers. Longer to enter the answer than working the problems ;) Proctored test. She's fantastic communicating with, always there to answer questions, super quick response time, which I love-She's a good teacher.

While I am in concepts for calculus online due to the pandemic, I usually struggle with math. I bought the textbook, but each week she posts detailed videos to follow along, so as long as you watch the videos, your set for the tests without the book. She posts additional videos for questions that she receives questions about explaining the process.

I took concepts of calculus online and I wont lie it was quite a bit of work, but professor Cantwell posted good lectures that explained pretty much everything, and if it didnt, she would answer my question in like 5 minutes! Overall I learned a lot through the resources provided and got a good grade, would take her again.
