Of all the teachers to take for Acc I'd reccomend her.Acc is not an easy subject but she is a sweet woman who breaks it down for you.. 6 hwks... 2 projects (easy) and three tests... straight forward. DONT USE COMPS DURING CLASS
Very clear and precise professor. She really tries to help. Had a hard time with it b/c I have no knack for this subject. Overall I recommend her because if you're someone who will be falling behind anyway even if you try, at least she's a nice and pleasant professor to be stuck with. : )Oh yeah, don't use the computers unless following pps.
Be cautious with this lady, she has this apparition that the classroom is a corporation. Teaches straight off pps and from the textbook. Obsessed with attendance and people that receive high test scores. If you can teach yourself accounting from a book, take her. 12 long homeworks, 9 quizzes, 3 Projects(not that hard)
Gives lots of homework assignments and quizzes, okay as a professor not understanding at all as a person. Thinks she's teaching a graduate class.
Class was a breeze!! Each chapter is done through powerpoint, quizzes were cakewalks! Very friendly and outgoing! Just goto the class, do the homework, and you should be fine! I didn't even have to read the text other than to get the homework problems.
I was absolutely relieved to see how easy Crepsi's class is. Her bright personality makes it easy to learn and remember the material. Gives plenty of hints about what is going to be on the test and a lot of extra credit.
ONLY PROFESSOR THAT GIVES EXTRA CREDIT, REALLY WANTS HER STUDENT TO PASS THE CLASS.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
She was one of the best professors that I have ever had. She really cares about how her students do in the class. Def. take her course if you can.
Very enthusiastic in her summer course
I understand what everyone else is saying about her, but I must say, I really learned a lot from Crespi's class. She makes it very easy to learn and if you listen, it is VERY hard to fail. I got an A and I liked the class a lot. It is a good intro AC class. I would take her again if I had the chance.
yea same as what the last person said, i hated her attitude at first but if you keep you head low you'll be fine. shes a real nazi about attendance and homework. if you arrive at 2:01 you only get 1/2 credit for that days attendance. not the greatest but still probably better than some other teachers
Very enthusiastic. Def likes to teach and is very thorough. Kind of annoying at times, though. If you have a question, she's good at finding different ways to explain. A lot of work, but pretty easy.
I felt the need to throw in my two cents after pulling an all-nighter for the project. I find Crespi's personality to be charming and its about the only thing thats making this drier than dust subject survivable. However, she does tend to act as if this were graduate level, I would recommend this class for people who have tons of spare time
Outstanding Professor! She explains everything clearly. She gives up her personal time to ensure that students are prepared for exams with an exam review prior to each exam. She loves accounting and her positive attitude is infectious. Wonderful Insturctor! Take her class, if possible!
Professor Crespi is amazing! She makes such a complicating subject seem so simple. Attendance is mandatory but her class isn't boring & she explains everything clearly. She also provides a lot of help to her students. Lastly, you will have to study for exams but her reviews will help & make sure to do online assignments!
Professor Crespi is awesome! She loves teaching and it shows. She makes sure that you understand the information and teaches in a way that you will. I actually learned so much more than I expected! She is a must take professor if your interested in learning.
Professor Crespi is very nice to you in class, but she is not really willing to help outside of class. She will literally only cover 1 or 2 chapters the whole semester and rush through the rest of the material. She does not really teach so she expects you to learn on your own. Don't take her.

Professor Crespi is not for everybody. She does her best to reach students using many different approaches, but at other times can be disorganized. Go to every class on time, do all the homework, study for the tests. You'll do fine, but you need to practice.
Crespi is the best. Really liked to help students and energetic about subject. Really liked the group project. You have to create a Newsletter, Podcast thats 5 mins and a Peep Project diarama. Offers some Xtra Credit. Not an Easy A, really have to work hard and read the text. I would take it in the spring and bank on the snow days like me.
This is a very difficult Income Tax class, not to be blamed on the professor. I read every chapter, often twice and I am only getting an A because of the "curves" and extra credit. She can be sarcastic at times, but I think it's just how she is, take it with a grain of salt, there are worse teachers out there. I recommend!
Gives you study guides that do not really cover what is on the exams. We barely went over tax returns, yet our final was a tax return. Nice teacher and very informative though.
I did enjoy this class very much. All test are online and multiple choice. If you do not understand the concept you will not be able to answer the questions on the test. She is very helpful and if I didn't go to her office hours I would not passed.
Professor is very nice, at times she kills you with kindness, meaning she is super outgoing and cracks jokes all while giving you an excessive amount of work. Super helpful, and explains things very clearly. Would take again, but expect a lot of work thats all graded.6 exams, multiple choice online. overall good professor
Professor Crespi really wants her students to do well! She so kind and warm hearted. She is very approachable! However, there is a lot of homework and reading involved. But the homework is ALWAYS harder than the exams. The exams were sooooooo easy, that is if you read. I would definitely take her again if she taught 212.
Professor Crespi is a good professor, but she is a bit disorganized. We had a syllabus, but that was soon 'out-the-window.' Takes a long time to grade as well.
Professor Crespi is a good professor, but she says she is going to post an assignment and doesn't. It would be one thing if she sent an email saying that she couldn't post the assignments, but she leaves you wondering if she is going to post them or not.
Professor Crespi is nice but doesn't know how to conduct a class especially online! We never hear anything from her, no announcements so we never know what's going on. Don't bother trying to message or email her, she will never reply! For a full semester we only covered 3 chapters when we were suppose to cover 6-7. Very pointless, effortless class
The most unorganized class I've ever had - we met once a week and the rest was online. Got to Chapter 3 by the end of November, ended up cramming another 3 Chapters. Did not go over tax returns, yet this is the final exam. Impossible to get in contact with her - does not answer emails at all. If you're looking to learn something, do not take her.
Amazing Profesor loves all her students and genuinely wants them to succeed and goes out of her way to make sure they do. She is a bit disorganized but she always says we need to be flexible as business students. Online classes are not her strong suit so be patient with her. But very smart and lovely
Prof. had an emergency and I feel bad for her, but this resulted in her not posting for weeks at a time. We finished 5/12 ch. Most of the time no one had any idea what to do and when it was due. There was a severe lack of comm. Shld have given her timeoff and assigned the course to a diff. prof. Ive heard she is nice but this was nt good for any1.
Took Prof's online tax course. Pros: All assignments posted in the beginning of the course, so you can go at your own pace (convenient!) Cons: Prof does not respond to e-mails or calls. Just does not respond at all.
Professor Crespi is such a nice professor and really cares about all her students' success, both in & out of the classroom! She is always willing to answer any questions and organizes the course in a very manageable way.
Professor Crespi is so sweet, I took this course online this semester and she was very lenient about re-doing certain assignments and extending dates. Through this pandemic she wants to see everyone strive. Everything is through Connect and theres about 4 assignments due each week and theres one major project towards the ends of the sem.
She's super nice and understanding. A little bit nit picky on the assignments but she will stay hours and hours with you explaining things if you need her to. Very nice and will offer extra support. One of those teachers who just wants you to succeed.

Lectures are boring and professor usually talks about stuff not related to the topic. Super heavy on homework. Each chapter has 2 homework assignments that take forever. There was 1 project that was super difficult and irrelevant to the course. However, exams are straight forward. If you read the slides she provides 1-2 times, you will pass exams
Her lectures were very boring and irrelevant to the topics at hand. There is a lot of HW assignments that are long and do not help at all for the exams or the project, which she also gives no help on. She requires you to show up and will use you not showing up against you. For an 211 basics class, it was very difficult. Would not take again.
For an entry level class this is very hard, half the time her lectures do not reflect anything on the test. Very nice lady but that's it. Homework is impossible because it takes to long to complete and when you are taking 4 other courses really makes it impossible to learn and get a good enough grade in the class.
Theres constant work and studying. I honestly think that she thinks this is everyones only class. I forgot I had 4 other classes because I had to put all my time into this class. If you think you can pull a fast one on her, you can't. You need to study. a lot. lectures r typically off topic. she Is not understanding. You need to go to ever class.

Professor Crespi lacks the skills of a good teacher. She knows a lot about accounting but has no idea how to teach it. She assigns homework that takes 4 hours which doesn't even include the textbook readings and everything she writes on the board is abbreviations.
Way more homework than what I was expecting for an entry-level class, each assignment can take an hour to complete so plan time accordingly. Exams make up a good portion of your grade so it's important to pass all of them if you want to pass the class. Lectures can go off-topic and they're usually unclear. Read the textbook, final is cumulative.
Take this class if you have no life. SO MUCH work that takes hours to complete. She acts like you need to learn everything on your own and then just reviews it in class and nobody knows what is going on. Don't take this class
Professor Crespi spends more time demanding respect and scolding students than teaching the material. It is extremely irritating, and when she does teach the material, her teaching style is difficult to follow. $200 textbook, and class time is an uncomfortable experience. The semester project had unclear instructions that the tutors struggled with.
Knows a lot about accoutning, but has no idea how to teach it. She expects you to be as knowledgeable as her just by reading the online textbook and doing your own work. Has an attitude, and is very hard to sit through her 1.5-hour lectures in which she only uses abbreviations. Inconsiderate of your other classes and LOADS you with work. Stay away.
Must read the textbook thoroughly as she doesn't cover everything in class. Wastes too much time talking about extra credit opportunities and pressuring you to do things outside class and takes it personally if you can't do what she wants you to do
Encourages students to skip class so that you can participate in her volunteer activities which is wildly unprofessional and inconsiderate of the fact that we pay to attend classes here. Gets offended if you prioritize your other classes and your job over her class and/or volunteer activities.
Extremely rude. Gives no clear instructions for the course and teaches very little about accounting. Goes off topic a lot and lashes out on students without reasoning. Very strict about attendance and offers no flexibility even if you gave notice. Good luck trying to get help from her as she offers none at all.
Rude and condescending, treats students like little kids, not like adults paying to be in her class. Doesn't go into detail on subjects in class but expects you to be an expert on every topic, in addition to giving tons of homework and a final project that you aren't allowed to get help from anybody except her or she will accuse you of cheating.
Lectures were her asking us questions as if we knew the material already. Lots of homework from the online textbook. Never told us any deadlines just posted them on blackboard and would never accept late work. Spent a lot of time trying to get us to do things outside of class. Final project you are on your own.
Professor Crespi is by far the worst professor ive had in my 4 years at CCSU. I would have dropped her class if I was able to. Conservatively 3x more homework/reading/assignments than any other class ive taken. Entirely a self-taught course, it is expected that you arrive to class knowing the entire chapter before she has taught any of it. Avoid.
You have to teach yourself everything, and she will not be there during office hours.
By far the worst professor I have ever had. She makes AC211 seem like a grad level class. She comes off very nice but that changes quickly. She hasn't responded to emails on multiple different occasions. Expects you to memorize her syllabus. Completely self-taught class. Class for her is her flaunting about herself the whole time. Very rude.
The worst professor I've ever had in my entire life! She doesn't teach, gets distracted more than half of the class, doesn't make assignment dates known, doesn't care for her students. I encourage you to take this class if you want to fail an accounting class, it would very easy to do so with this careless, useless professor
I'm glad I'm not the only one who is struggling to understand accounting because of this professor and her lack of teaching. This was a very poorly taught class when she actually cared to even teach. She gets sidetracked very easily! The work in this class feels like an accelerated class and it's not. DO NOT take this class!!!!! You will regret it!
lots of work outside class, graded by a lot of things though (good if you are a bad exam taker), 4 exams + 1 final. project due with 5 different parts. HW on mcgraw hill due weekly. prof is kind but I feel like im always doing work for this class and no matter how much I study, I get average grades on exams. extra credit opportunities are available
This teacher is absolutely horrible, she doesn't teach. She will never answer your questions. Doesn't provide proper instructions for assignments. Never informed the class of any final exam until the day before. She times tests to her liking, if she thinks a test will be easy she'll give you 35 minutes. Does not care that everyone failed. DO NOT
Most of the students in the class did not pass, that is because she does not teach the material. I passed the class, but you wouldn't be able to tell, because she doesn't know how to use blackboard. despite having passed everything with a B or above, my grade is around a 30% due to her own inability to input grades. (1-2 0/100 copies of every exam)

In all my years of being a student, she has been the worst teacher i have ever had. the homeworks take forever, the exams are on the school computer and she walks around staring at everyone, she is also very rude doesnt care if you dont understand the material. its a very hard class, lots of reading, if you wanna fail take this prof

Most of these negative reviews aren't true. It depends on you because Professor Crespi will not help you unless you ask for it! Every class, she will ask if anyone has questions on the chapter. She has stated multiple times when she is open for office hours and provided tutoring resources! She is more effective if you speak with her in person!
Terrible accounting class. The teacher couldn't explain basic concepts, tests were unfair, and most students failed or had to cheat. The only reason I passed was because of ChatGPT. Avoid this instructor if possible—you'll end up teaching yourself the entire course.
I'm an A student, but I barely passed this accounting class because the professor was awful. The course was extremely lecture-heavy with little support or flexibility. The professor wasn't forgiving at all, even when students clearly struggled. I would not recommend this class to anyone.

I'm typically a top student, but this accounting class nearly tanked my GPA. The professor relied too much on lectures and offered no real help or understanding. There was zero room for error, and the grading felt harsh and unforgiving. I wouldn't suggest this class to anyone trying to actually learn. Only way to pass is to use ChatGPT

Professor Crespi does not know how to use blackboard, does not reply to emails, does not teach well, and provides no study guides. I vaguely learned everything about my major from her homework that was very costly and time consuming. She has an entire project listed with no rubric on blackboard and has crammed multiple chapters into one week. Bad.

She is a very good teacher but can be very passive aggressive at times. She will call on people randomly, will out-wait you in silence, she will pick on one person randomly. To be fair she only does this when it's obvious students don't do the work. SO DO THE WORK. Read before class! Speaking of the homework; a lot of reading, a lot of questions.
Read all the reviews before summer course started and I was terrified. Took the class and prof. Crespi was surprisingly nice and often reached out to me first outside of class to make sure everything was going good. I forgot about the final and she still let me do it and submit it online and receive full credit. I genuinely have nothing bad to say.
This was the worst experience in an online class I have ever had. She has not answered emails which is extremely unhelpful considering the class is online. There are five exams and a huge project all of which are difficult. The homework load is extremely heavy. She does not give a lot of instruction, schedule in the syllabus is confusing to follow.
By far the worst professor/teacher I have ever encountered in my life. She is rude, uncaring, and does not know how to teach the subject effectively. The amount of work required in this class is greater than that of graduate-level courses, and this is a mandatory intro-level course. Avoid at all costs!
Shes good, its your usual "read a chapter and do a practice assignment and a hw assignment" but you have to lock in on the reading. its all Mcgraw hill. The financial project is a stressor but the less you procrastinate the easier it is so be basic at excel. in November she is less responsive regarding that project so you are basically on ur own.
