An absolutely amazing professor. She keeps everyone very enthusiastic about the class & def. makes it different & fun. She communicates very well & is always eager to help if someone asks. She encourages discussion & group work- even on some quizzes. Extra cred. is easy & encouraged too. HW is easy if you keep on top of it. No tests- only quizzes.

Best Teacher I have had in a long time! I would recommend her class even if psychology is not required. You learn more than text book from her. I even drove to Auburn Hills which is out of my way but worth it to take her class and would do so again to have her as my teacher. This professor will probably be the best professor I will ever have in my college career. I went through a lot of things during this class, and on top of that it was an accelerated summer course. She was so kind and understanding about everything that I was going through and genuinely touched my heart. I wish that she could teach all of my classes.

I would recommend this class to any first time college student or someone coming back after a hiatus. Mrs. Decker is a fantastic professor who geniunly cares about her students and goes far out of her way to make this class a unique learning experience. Her class is so easy to the point where it'll be hard for students to receive anything less than an "A". She babies students (you don't have to study for 3/5 tests because 2 are open note tests and 1 is a take home test), grades too easily, and provides snacks. All 3 methods are counter productive because they don't prepare you for the real world

Mrs. Decker is the most genuine and charismatic teacher I've ever had. For every lecture she ties in a life lesson. You don't really need the book, but definitely know her powerpoints for the test. She's very fair and does everything keeping each student in mind. Not exactly an easy A, but worth the work! :)

Super easy, but kind of annoying. She gets really passionate, but it's always about her personal life stories, not the class. Sometimes I actually don't think she knows how loud she is. She basically screams the punch line of every story, and it just makes my ears hurt. She's definitely nice, but I kind of get the feeling she doesn't actually know what she's talking about. Great class if you're really stupid and need everything explained ten times.

Super easy class. You can tell she is really passionate about teaching and she knows what she is talking about. She makes the material interesting. I recommend taking this class with her. Watch out, she does use the phrase, "here we go" at least 50 times per class.

Lots of guest speakers and a feild trip. She tells you every assignment you'll have on the first day of class and hands out most of them. two out of three exams are take home. You have to read the smaller book "Opening Doors, Opening Lives" but the textbook is pretty useless except for the tests (which are take home, even the final exam).

You will be graded on your attendance, extra credit given for perfect attendance. You MUST get to now your classmates, you'll be tested on their interests. One in class test, and a take home final. You will be assigned work straight from the textbook, and get ready to write. Do the assignments (which she hands out the first day) and you'll get an A

I LOVED Professor Deckers PSY 2510 class. I signed up to take her PSY 2810 class without hesitation! However, the professor who I fell in love with in PSY 2510 drastically changes her teaching method for PSY 2810. Also, I'm an introvert, and the class requires an extraordinary amount of self-disclosure which made me uncomfortable. Heavy workload!

Professor Decker is the best professor I've had the chance to take. Her lectures are powerpoints, straight forward, and she'll do whatever it takes to make sure you understand the material. Tests are easy if you study. She provides extra credit also. Study, take notes, and you'll get a good grade. Would take again in a heartbeat.

Show up and pass. Or don't show up and just read the power points online. didn't even touch the book. Easiest quizzes of my life. One with a cheat sheet, another is a take-home. No exam. Everything is super clear and she does funky demonstration skits (participating is one of the many ways to get extra credit) Gotta love Mrs. Decker. Easy A.

A textbook is available but u won't need it & the library carries copies. No exams just short quizzes, 1st one u cld make a cheat sheet, another was a Take Home and I still didn't use the book. Listen in class, review lecture notes & you will get an A. Participate for Extra points. She's funny & kind, she even brought us bagels & cream cheese. YES!

She's a real sweetheart. Quizzes are a piece of cake especially if you go to the SI sessions before class all the answers are basically given away. Lectures are fun and interactive even for an introvert like myself. Last day of class she went out of her way to get us a large greek salad and some cookies to eat through lecture.

This is a wonder class to take the second summer session. Lectures were a little long but engaging plus she gives plenty of breaks. The SI was wonderful!. Beware though, attendance is worth 10 points per class and an A starts at 96%. If you sign up for this class make sure you can attend every session on time!

I took her class a few years ago. I was very impressed with her "inter-active" teaching style. She helps her students understand and apply concepts, rather than having us memorize meaningless definitions. Her class was interesting but I still had to study.

I LOVED this class. Professor Decker is awesome and she made everything so interesting. It was different every week! Lots of great guest speakers and lectures. Two field trips, one is a bit far but worth it. Two take home exams, one quiz + several weekly written assignments so READ the textbook! If you show up and do the work then you'll do fine.

AMAZING! Professor Decker is straight forward in what she expects and as long as you follow that you will more than pass! Plus, she is very kind and full of fun and humor. Mrs. Decker was a great teacher, very warm and genuine. She gives plenty of extra credit and hands out all the homework to you the first day so you can decide when to do them. The quizzes were very easy, especially when she would always find 2-3 questions she "didn't like" so she gave us the answers.

Superb Prof! Taking SUM 6week. First She seems really strict, but she's excellent and funny! She is down to business not time to chat, class starts promptly, but she makes it easy!!! Cheryl Decker was by far the single best psychology professor I have ever had. She actually cared about each of her students and wanted them to succeed in her class. If you show up to each class you get 10 points (at least for my 6 week summer class). She is one of the most kind hearted and best human beings I have ever met.

She basically tells you the answers to the tests in lectures, so if you want an easy A just go to class. The book isn't necessary but is good for some out of class assignments ("homework"). She was go easy going and truly sweet!! This class took stress off of me, compared to other classes I've taken. She's understanding of students life's outside of her classroom. I took this accelerated in the summer of 2015 in 6 weeks and got an A effortless. You just have to study your notes from the lecture, and her lectures aren't dry, so it's easy!

My most favorite professor, one of the greatest people I have ever met. If you see "Cheryl Decker" as a instructor for a class you need credit for, TAKE IT. She helps everybody out, gets to know students, and most importantly she teaches VERY well. I can't say one bad thing about her, if you fail - it's your own fault.

The best teacher Ive ever had at OCC. She gives out extra credit. First test you can use notes. Second test is take home. You get to have one make up test taken on the last day. 10 points for coming to class and is included in your final grade. Not cumulative final. 3 homework assignments. No papers.

Cheryl Decker is one of the nicest most caring humans I have ever met, she is so concerned about her students and wants the best for every single one of them. Her class is the easiest, she grades by points not percents, she has 4 homework assignments for the whole class, easy 30 question test's. But her lectures are long and exhausting.

Amazing professor. Gives you ALL of the assignments due for the WHOLE semester when you meet for the first time. You can turn all of your assignments in and as long as you turn them in by the actual due date, shell give them back to you if you received anything less than a 100% so you can make corrections.. if you fail this class you deserve it.

She encourages class participation, her class is fun and she is a really sweet individual. I took the 7-week course T&Th. TAKE THIS CLASS! You won't regret it. My class is the intro to Psychology Class 08/26/19-10/10/19.

Genuinely wonderful professor. Currently trying to take another course with her as the professor as I loved her teaching style and how she interacted/treated the class as a whole. Professor Decker is the best teacher Ive had in my entire life! Shes the sweetest thing! Her grading is based on 4 SUPER EASY tests and 4 assignments with all the answers in the book. My favorite professor that I've had at OCC. Highly recommend taking her for the multiple Psych classes she teaches. PSY-2810 is all about self reflection and had some interesting guest speakers and cool projects.

Professor Decker is MY FAVORITE professor hands down! I took her class "remotely" because of COVID. She had a lecture every class period but they were completely optional. You take five exams and all the answers are in the powerpoints that are given. She will tell you to use ALL resources and wants you to do great! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

I absolutely loved having Professor Decker for Intro to Psych. I came away from every lecture feeling encouraged that I can finish my degree. She explains things where it's easy to understand and if you ever have a question, she's right there to answer it. It is easy to get in contact with her which is nice!

Caring / engaging. Due to the course being online, she let you use the powerpoints and other material on the quiz. Quiz questions were directly from the power points in the order they appeared on the power points. Was surprised people in the group chat were asking others for answers. Engaging class. Attendance not mandatory for online class.

Cheryl is the most perfect teacher ever. She is cherished by her classes and she knows what a hard time some of us are having taking classes online. She makes learning easy and fun. You follow the notes you will pass the quizzes. There were only 5 quizzes and she ended a week early and eased us out at the end. Love you Ms. Decker.

Such a kind and genuine woman. Her class was clear and she gave comprehensive lectures and documented powerpoints on all of the content she taught. Quizzes were always directly pulled from lecture material. She was very accommodating to covid standards and towards any student needs in general. you would have to TRY to fail her class.

The kindest professor I have ever had! She really wants you to succeed, after every quiz she would send me an email giving her feedback and basically saying good job. In my class, the grade was only based on 5 quizzes, but I really liked this. She had no mandatory work other than the quizzes. <<

Professor Decker was a phenomenal teacher and an even better human being. She really strives to help her students understand the material and gives us valuable information along the way. There are 5 exams but she drops the lowest score. There was only one homework activity and it was very interesting. I would recommend taking her.

The whole course is essentially just 20-question quizzes after every other class. The professor is a good teacher, she doesn't go overboard on the content and keeps it manageable. The only other thing you have to do is attend every day for points. Overall, a nice easy course for people who are just taking it for the mandatory credits.

SUUUPER EASY CLASS she gives you notes that make it pointless to take notes although you probably still should. She does make attendance mandatory but if you need to leave early tell her and she's completely fine with it. I didn't really study at all for the class and still got over 100%. I personally learned a lot from this class and found it fun

Professor Decker's Intro to Psych class has been one of the best classes I've taken throughout my college career. It is a lecture/power-point heavy but that comes with the territory of an all-online course. Everything you need to know for the weekly quizzes is in the power points provided. Overall 10/10 100% recommend.

Trust me when I say Professor Decker is one of the most caring people I have ever met in my whole life! I loved her lectures and she really cares about her student's passing. She is a very fair grader too. There were like 10 quizzes altogether which were easy and a few other assignments which weren't difficult at all. I can't recommend her enough!

Dawg the easiest class ever especially online. TAKE IT ONLINE. She only grades by exams and all of them are unsupervised. Just print the notes for the test and take it. Easiest class and chillest tech ever.
