Cheryl has a ton of industry experience that she brings to the class. We started each class with news of the day and went on to talk about case studies as they relate to the text book. She posted all of her lectures, so easy to study for texts.

Cheryl's experience was extensive, I learned so much from her! She has great enthusiasm which was a great motivator for me! She was open to suggestions to make the class better and she really listened and implemented suggestions.

Prof. Engstrom was amazing! OMG! BC should hire more people like her. I say that because she is got that experience in marketing that opened my eyes on so many things! Cheryl is the most amazing teacher I've ever met! She is a rockstar in the PR/marketing field, and she has TONS of great experience to share with her students. She won't only be your professor, but also your mentor and friend. She even took me to Bellevue fashion week as her assistant after she knew I was interested in the fashion industry!

Cheryl has been an incredible reference point for relevant examples of her teaching in the real world. I am constantly impressed by her real life experiences and how incredibly well spoken she is. After having class with Cheryl I feel much more biased towards studying marketing, which is something I had not considered previously. loved it.

What an excellent teacher! Her PR class was one of the best classes I have taken in BC because it not only taught me a lot about writing great press releases but also about many things that a company can do to improve their perception by public. I would definitely recommend Cheryl to anyone who wants a caring, loving, fun and upbeat teacher.

Cheryl's an amazing and informative instructor. Her class is full of real-world example to help students understand the terms and how to use it. The amount of assignment was fair and inspire students to self-study. Group and individual projects are fun and easy to get high points if pay attention to the rubric and detail. This is my favorite instructor at Bellevue college as a whole. Shes inspirational, easy to listen to, caring, respectful, and all around an amazing instructor. Cheryl is amazing!!! She says attendance is required but rarely takes attendance. She brings so much fun and excitement to the classroom making you want to come back every time! Shes super funny and as long as you read the syllabus and follow the expectations for hw you will pass with easy A. Group assignment is bad since group doesnt do anything

Really good class environment, lectures were relevant, time used was not wasted. She allows you to change your groups up if someone sucks which is awesome.

Attendance is mandatory on project days to present and to watch others, but other than that it's pretty optional (However, most of the class is based on what's presented and not on the book, so those who show up do better). Very caring teacher and an inspiration with the work she's been a part of. Would definitely take again for a marketing course!

Cheryl is awesome! The fashion course I took for her was fair, and not overly difficult. She also provides great feedback when grading your work!

I took her online course Introduction to Marketing in Fashion. Even though it was online, she still managed to make it engaging and informative. She usually posts grades fairly quickly.

I took her online course in Marketing: Introduction to Film and TV Marketing. Class was very informative. Modules were easy to follow and assignments were related to the class. Grades were post quick.

Professor shows a lot of knowledge in subject matter. Class is usually pretty entertaining, Cheryl allowed a lot of group discussion. There is a group project at the end of the quarter. Most of the assignments are not too bad and include weekly discussion. If your group sucks, the class will not be as fun.

Cheryl is one of the best teachers I've had in the longest time. She really inspires the class and starts very great class discussions. Class work isn't hard, just stay up to date with the online class discussions and it'll be an easy A. There's one group project that I enjoyed and got insight into what its like working as a marketer.

She is honestly the best professor I've ever had. I actually wanted to go to class. Her discussions are arguably the best part of class. If you have a chance to take one of her classes do it, it will really be worth it.

I really enjoyed this since she really pushed discussions in class which made it much more enjoyable for me. The one thing about this class I didn't like was how there was not too many terms were explained thoroughly.

She is a great teacher. Although this class is online, each week we can learn and discuss about different and important topics of film and TV marketing. Those topics were very interesting so I can enjoy doing assignment.

Pretty easy class, though some assignment requirements were pretty vague. Mostly discussions, a few short papers, and some mktg strategy analysis assignments.

I thought Cheryl did an amazing job when I was in her classroom. There were many aspects that I felt really helped me engage as a student. One of the primary things I loved about the class was the news reports we would go over at the beginning of class and all of the discussion our class had about different businesses and their marketing tactics.

Cheryl isn't a hard person to get along with and her classes are pretty chill. She likes to lecture about things that are relevant to the present. She likes class discussions and tries to make every class fun.

Cheryl is one of my favorite professors. Her class does not have a rigid structure, so if you're more "go with the flow," you'll like her. Since this was a hybrid class there were a lot of online discussions, but nothing overwhelming. She really cares about her students' success in and outside the classroom.

Easy class, not much effort expected. Cheryl seems like a nice professor, and some of the reading material was interesting, but I didn't learn much in this class. If you're okay with that, or if you just need a couple extra credits, this is the class for you.

A reasonable amount of work for a two credit class. The content was interesting and assignments were not that difficult. Just make sure you stay on top of your assignments.

Cheryl is an amazing teacher, I have had her as a teacher for 3 other classes and she is someone I always look for as my teacher. If you give some work you can easily pass the class. If you are lazy you can still pass but be ready for a lower grade.

Seriously, I had never expected that a teacher would have such real world experience, and yet be so approachable for questions. Cheryl helped me understand things I had never imagined.

This class was very hands-on, and I loved the fact the major projects were case studies of real companies/situations. Regularly showed up to class early and was able to go over assignments and talk about current events relevant to what we were learning in class with Cheryl. Lots of constructive (& positive) feedback, which inspired me to improve!

If your course is offering Cheryl Engstrom as a professor, TAKE IT! I love how thorough her lectures and powerpoints are. I have learned so much in her class and I'm wowed by all of the amazing resources that she gives us regularly. You can tell that she loves what she does and KNOWS what she's teaching. I'm actually still taking her class, but she's such an amazing professor. This is actually my third class I'm taking with her, and it's been super fun. There's a ton of homework, but it all feels meaningful and her feedback is exceptional given her background.

Highly recommend this class to anyone interested in learning a bit more/fundamentals in both fashion or marketing. I took an online version of this class due to Covid and majority of my grade was based on completing and turning in my discussion posts on time as well as the group projects we did throughout the quarter. Super sick class!

Great professor, I would take a class from her again.

I didn't really get to know Cheryl much because the class was online. But few interactions I had with her were very positive. Fashion Marketing is fun, intuitive, and quite easy if stay on top of things. I just registered to have again next quarter for Merchandising as well!

I just started taking this class this quarter, but I can tell she is a great teacher. She made an intro video that was an overview of the entire quarter and it was organized and clear.

She does a really thorough job responding to the group projects. It seemed like she really read through everything and analyzed it well. I even enjoyed the group assignments despite not being much of a collaborative person. I did hear that she is not very good at responding to emails, though I never experienced this personally.

Best class I've ever taken at BC! She's an amazing professor and is so organized. I love listening to her lectures and hearing about the things she's learned as a PR professional. She grades fairly and will provide you amazing feedback that will guide you through your projects. I am considering a career in PR because of her!

She was very flexible when students were unavailable and worked around it to figure out how they can present for the final presentation. She seemed to be very educated in marketing and hit all the major information we needed to learn.

Cheryl is great, it feels like i've known her for years already. She's so supportive and helpful in class, lectures are never boring. Assignments and projects are light but you learn so much, nothing is wasted.

Professor Engstrom paces her class well. We were able to really just complete a whole presentation over the quarter, evenly spaced out, with a lot of guidance and feedback on each section of the project. She is very knowledgeable and her classes go by quickly. I will be taking other classes with her in the future.

Cheryl is one of those professors that can make you change your path to the marketing direction, because the class is incredible. Knows how to educate students and is very understanding. She has a-lot of marketing experience to share. Group based projects are designed to make you understand the material while strengthening your teamwork skills. Don't slack off in group work! 10/10 marketing professor.

I think she was very good. I got a good grade. It kind of depends on what group you get in for all the group projects. I was in a good group so I got a good grade but others were in worse groups and got worse grades. Overall though, it was a really fun class and not too hard.

Cheryl is a great prof. She's super kind/engaging with her class, and it's helpful she's had career experience. Her instruction for online assignments was occasionally misleading, but she's open to feedback. The whole course was a group assignment and few individual ones... so if you don't like group work, you probably shouldn't take this class.

Amazing professor. Her lectures are very and interactive. She loves answering questions and is very enthusiastic about teaching students about marketing. The work is really fun and she gives plenty of time to do the main group work in class and the online work is pretty good, too. Overall, a really nice and caring professor.

Professor was so good. Kept class entertaining and made sure students had time to complete at least half of their work in class. Makes sure students are engaged, lectures are very fun and is not a repeat of what is in the textbook. She kept everyone listening and I learned a lot about marketing, business and being confident in this class.

Professor Engstrom was a great instructor! She assigned easy weekly hw with a chapter to read, and two super easy quizzes. She does assign a group presentation which makes up a huge part of your grade, so you MUST participate and contribute with a positive attitude. My total time spent on hw each week was about 2 hours. Good luck if you take her!

Cheryl is an engaging prof. Her class has helpful group projects, though attendance is mandatory. unstuck ai was a great study tool alongside the free course materials.

I have taken two classes with this professor (both in-person and online) and I love her teaching style. Cheryl is extremely knowledgeable and encouraging. Late work isn't encouraged but oftentimes accepted. She really enjoys getting to know you and your thinking style. Super supportive professor, just make sure you communicate!

No extra credit it at all. quizzes/ homework asisgnments due every week but she's flexible with the deadline. The class is mainly a marketing group project and it was nice. She's not a bad grader but wish her workload was a little lesser. Overall very nice professor but doesnt respond to emails
