Avoid this professor--she is one of the WORST in CCB.
If you get stuck with her, say your prayers. Somehow, I know less after the class.
She doesn't want anyone to fail, but she wants to make sure you know everything you should before you graduate. She gives tons of work and grades it very hard. If you ask her questions she will help all the time.
Very ambiguous questions and directions. Willing to help, but gets confused herself while helping you. Graduate amount of work for undergraduate class. Grades way to hard, especially after the time she spends teaching about what she is grading. Good luck
This instructor is very nice but can appear to be gruff. She's like a chicken tender: extra crispy on the outside, but tender on the inside. She is best described as one who know their way to the airport but can't give accurate directions to get there.
Hard! Get out! Don't take! First class average for exam 1 was a 60% while the previous teachers average was a A. If you can't drop, find Jesus to help you. Our work is the same as her Graduate classes.
avoid at all costs!!
This lady is the devil
This class WILL be the most difficult class you will engage in if you have to. Shes ambiguous in nature. But, on the positive side she means well, I guess.... Talk to her in class, ask lots of questions, and make sure she knows who you are. Good luck, God bless. I made an A, so its possible...
Unless you have a graduate level understanding of Finance, I suggest you avoid Frohlich at all cost. This class should be named FIN6233 instead of FIN3233.
Don't listen to all the other posts. She is a difficult teacher, but she is trying to do her job - make us learn. Her tests are challenging, and her homework is even more so. However, I learned a great deal about Finance. She is a very sweet lady, and always willing to help if you ask.
A mean, bitter old lady. Stay away, she likes to overcomplicate every concept, and her classroom etiquette is horrendous.
I made an A in Financial Management but will be lucky to pull a B out of her class. She uses completely different notations than standard finance classes so, basically, you have to relearn everything you learned in Financial Management. The book is useless, teaches strictly from her notes.
"and I will call you Satan"--Makes class as difficult as possible, only averaged a 64% pass rate over the last 3 years-try to stay away from her if possible!
This class is extremely tough. She goes really fast & crams ALOT in. She's not clear on her homework assignments at all so you HAVE to ask for help. Even go to her office. She does give at least 20 xtra credit points over the semester...which you'll need.

You have to stay on the ball and seek her assistance. When you do see her she is very helpful!! When you leave this class you really feel as if you have learned something worth while that you can use in life.
Spends a lot of time of indices, but is very knowledgable. Some will tell you to stay away-I laugh at that- get to know her!! She tries to help you with plenty of extra points & is very helpful outside of class unlike other instructors. She may be a little quirky, but she really likes her students.
a little goofy, yet well educated. Give her a chance you will learn a lot. She spends a lot of time on certain things, but you will walk away well prepared for understanding what goes on in the economy.
Dr. Frohlich is a great teacher. Her class is demanding. I would not recommend taking her if you have a tough semester. If you are willing to work hard you will get a good grade. She is ALWAYS willing to help you, even outside of office hours.
Not an easy teacher, but she is willing to help, always. The key is to go to her office as soon as you don't get it, she will help. Stay on top of hw, if you understand it you will do well on the test
avoid at all costs
Horrible teacher. If you have any questions... don't ask her. She treats you like your are stupid.
worst teacher in teacher history. hates people and soon will hate you. tests are ridiculous unless you wrote the book, avoid like the plague...oh wait you can't because she is the only teacher for that class!
WILL NOT FAIL YOU. JUST TRY........ :-)
She is the worst teacher in the book. She teaches only from her unorganized stupid notes. Half of the time no one know what the hell is going on. We do not know whats on the freaking test till the last minute. She gives homework and quizzes as if we were in 9th grade. The worst part is she grades the homework to the last detail. Horribleeeeee
AVOID AT ALL COSTS, only 2 people passed the first test!! Had a review session, studied for about 10 hours for the test, and got a 40! She teaches like shes teaching a graduate class. She will fail you unless you are in her little finance society clik and she knows you.
Frohlich is probably the worst teacher in the world. She really needs to work on her teaching methods because nobody seems to know what the hell is going on most if not all the time. She makes you do a stupid indices project which is when printed over 30 pages, a total waste of ink. My suggestion to you is to avoid because you won't learn a thing.
Probably the worst teacher I have ever had in my entire school career. So bad, that I dropped the class to take it with someone else in another semester. She was not worth the stress she was causing me. Avoid!!! Rude, unhelpful, yells at students in the class, and many more ridiculously bad things. Don't take!!!
DO NOT TAKE HER!!!! She YELLS at students by name in class, very unprofessional. Very unapproachable. She will not pass you.
She teaches on a question and answer basis. She questions, and the class tries to figure out what she wants to hear for the next 5 minutes. Her tests are incredibly difficult, and even she's not sure of what you should study for them. I gave up going to the class since it did nothing for me, and my test grade on the next test increased 15 points.
One of the worst professors I have ever had. She has nothing interesting to say and you can do more for your grade by skipping class and reading the textbook. Do not take if possible, we had over 50% drop by the first test.
Recommend that you run from this teacher. She shares no interest in the subject, only the ability to humiliate other students.
I do not know how this woman still has her teaching certificate. She thrives on trying to fail students, while getting off on her own self worth. Staring at overhead projectors, dressing up in class, and having a full timed essay exam (which no one in their right mind could come close to finishing,) is no way to teach.
Find another professor!
all i can say is: do not put yourself through this hell. 1. you won't get a decent grade no matter how hard you try 2. you'll just stress yourself out
Get ready for a world of suck. The professor was very kind but also the most awful teacher Ive ever had. More than half dropped class, shes unclear on EVERYTHING. To pass: DO HW, very long and hard --worth 25%, READ ALOT & see her in her office once a week. Anxiety and stress MGT was CRUCIAL. She would finish questions if I met with her. Pray DAILY
Frolich is a very good professor, but investments is a difficult class. People complain about this professor but it's a 4000-level college course people! She was extremely helpful, if you don't understand something go to her office for help! Midterm and Final was half take home and half in-class. I put a lot of work in this class and got an A.
This professor was very hard. Although she is very helpful outside of class, be prepared to dedicate your academic semester to studying. If her assignments are unclear, go to her office for help.I'm just grateful that I made it!
She is a very nice person but her classroom work is very unorganized. The case project is silly and unrelated to what we really need to learn for the real world. the portfolio is a good learning exercise and the homeworks are difficult but do apply. The exams are ridiculous because of the lack of time, not too tough but you never finish.
Hardest class I've ever taken. Every HW is a mini project. Portfolio proj. is long and the case is really long. I never finished one test b/c they were too long. Know how to find E(R) & St. Dev. of a diff. weighted portfolio and TVM for each test. You have to work extremely hard for an A. Frohlich is a nice lady she just demands a ton from you.
Do not listen to all this people. You are in college and are expected to work for your grades. This class requires a lot of work, but you will learn soo much! Professor Frohlich is extremely helpful, so if you have problems ask. And its doable-I got an A in the class :)
I think that last one was written by Cheryl Frohlich. The thing to realize with this course is you have to teach yourself. She doesn't teach. She reads powerpoints, which is ridiculous for a quant class. She should do problems on the board from day 1. She also teaches from a position that you already understand the material. Many do not. Personally
This class is so hard, I did not have a live for the entire semester while I was in this class. You have to dedicated every single effort to just this one class. Half of the clss either withdrew or did not pass it. This class is hard but Frohlich will help you if you go to her office. This class will break you or make you if you are a finance major.
This class will take up a lot of time! The best advice I can give is to LIVE IN HER OFFICE! In class she is vague but if you go to her office she will go over everything until you understand. She will go over your proj, paper and hw and tell you what to correct b4 you turn it in for a grade. Its hard but with extra effort you will pass.
Prof. frohlich is not the easiest professor, however, she has offered my class study sessions that did help a lot. I could not have passed the course without them. I received a good C and am very happy I passed this class. I agree with the rest, Prof. Frohlich is tough, but this is a 4504 class and should not be easy to pass.
Avoid at all cost. If you have to take care her make sure the other classes you take don't consume that much time. You will literally have to reference outside references to pass this class. A significant amount of the test material are time value of money problems which are not covered in the book. Be prepared to not have a life if your taking her
RUN FOR THE HILLS, FROHLICH IS ALIVE W/ A VENGEANCE!!!! OMG, the level of work she expects is ridiculous considering how little she teaches, and I use that term EXTREMELY loosely. I don't mind HW, projects & test, but in order to complete this stuff correctly she needs to prepare you. I shouldn't have to live at her office, horrible professor.
Can't teach! Students ask repeat questions b/c she is: un-clear, un-organized, un-interesting, & her voice does not project. She literally huffs and puffs like a child if she thinks a question is dumb. Who hired her?!?
Worst professor I've ever had. She teaches undergrad class as if its a grad class. Her expectations are unrealistic. Her way of solving TVM is different than learned in FIN MGMT I. Exams were long and difficult. Avoid this professor. If you have to have this professor, only take the one class and try not to take it your graduating semester.
This is a VERY hard class. Having said that, she has a help session every week after class hours that are very helpful (more so than even the actual class in my opinin) and is willing to help you during her office hours. If you show a true effort and don't absolutely bomb the tests, she WILL not fail you. Stick it out to the end and she will curve
Worst professor ever. She spent the first month of class on TVM and how SHE wants us to do it instead of TEACHING on Investments. Novel idea I know. She's tenured and it's a union so they can't get rid of her so students suffer. Doesn't teach. Reads from slides and can't hardly explain anything. Never had a real job but thinks she knows all
1. TVM is hard, must learn it her way 2. two take home tests 3. attend help sessions 4. take notes 5. TVM is 20% of your grade 6. do not count on book chapters but rather read power p. slides 7. first test is in essey format 8. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO TAKE THIS PROFESSOR, DO YOUR WORK AND YOU WILL PASS WITH A OR B.
My first take home test was nearly 40 pages long .... get ready to work!
dont read just listen and ask lots of questions..
Worst Professor ever. Tells you not to buy the book and then tells you to read the book. She doesnt know her material.
RUN AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!
Her expectations are unreasonable for the class.Extremely unorganized. When it comes to the exam, she will have a different answer for the same question. Extremely unorganized. Says she will have a list of institutions online within the first week, but didn't even get us the information until half way through the semester.Avoid at all costs!!
If you HAVE to take this class then take it in Summer A or Summer B, you'll be glad you did
Take her for summer if you have to take it. There's a lot of quizzes and HW she counted as EC for our class. Helped a lot because test averages are around 50-60. I did ok without buying the book. Go to her office, she loves helping students and will slowly reteach what she rushes through in class.
I went to her office hours but it didn't help me. I got the feeling she was annoyed that I was asking for help. Does offer extra credit in the summer. First tests is essay format. TVM on all tests worth 20% for every test. If you have to take her take in the summer only. She makes this class seem like a 6000 level course!
Super tough class! In order to pass this class you need to go to her practice problems and make sure you know how to do every one. Time value is on every test but for me the SL/LM was the toughest part of the course. I also recomend you take this over the Summer the extra credit given is crucial. You will need to visit in her office as well!!!
This was the hardest class I had ever taken at UNF. To pass this class: Visit her office, and visit it often. Don't miss class. She really cares about her students performance so long as they're making an effort. Practice the HW, which is what the tests are made of. Extra credit is offered often. Take advantage of it. This class is passable!
Tough class! Poeples comments about this professor had me convinced that I would have to take it for the second time. However if you go to class ask for help and practice the online problems you will be fine! Project seems really hard but she will help you with it if you ask for help. Lots of extra credit offered. You have to put in the effort.
Her exams are 20 pages and cumulative. They get larger as the class progresses. 90% of students cannot finish in the allotted time. The material is not hard, but her confusing tests are. She reads from power points which are not accessible to the students. She is willing to help though. Attending her office hours helps some. I'll be lucky to pass.
Class is so easy. Just visit her office hours and your fine.
The best professor ever!!! Yes, she is hard but not that hard like all people are saying!!! Try to understand TVM at first and you'll be fine! Go to her office hours! She uses her PPs but book is helpful!T/F come straight from it! Practice, practice, practice, go to her office and DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT be scared to take her!!!!!
This teacher is great. Listen to her advise. Time value is an important factor in accumulating wealth. why do so many financial services majors complain about this class? She helps a ton! A + rating.
Let me tell you this. I have a 4.0 in all the finance classes I took and this class, well, I am afraid I will not pass. She is horrible. HORRIBLE. More than half the class dropped after the second test. Tough grader, confusing and long tests, assignments that can be done in 3 minutes makes you do the long confusing way (TVM).
Professor Frohlich cares about her students. If you don't understand what she is teaching go to her office for tutoring. She will help you. She helped me. The negative posts on this site aren't fair and should be ignored. I would strongly recommend Professor Frohlich for any Finance Course.
I'm the kind of student who must study and work hard for my grades. I'm not a math wiz but am very competitive. I put many hours into studying. I LOVED this class! Dr. Frohlich is THE BEST PROFESSOR at UNF! I paid attention in class, had a true interest in the subject and scored so high that I wasn't required to take the final exam (you can too).
So bored cant stay awake. She reads from the powerpoints and doesnt look at the class at all. Might as well stay home and go over the powerpoints and student outline notes she posts online.
The tests are awful and there is a lot of work involved in the class. If you ask for help and study you will do fine. Its just hard. The classes are boring. She reads off of a power point made in 2012. But she takes attendance. Shes a super sweet lady. Just a bad teacher.
She reads directly from the powerpoint (word for word) and provides little insight into real world application. The Time Value of Money problems are on every test and are unnecessarily hard. She has a specific format that she uses for TVM problems and if you don't use her specific way of writing the equation, she will give you a zero.
This is by far the worst teacher at UNF. She has the most boring lectures that nobody can withstand sitting through, and doesn't teach you anything. Go to class and have a quiz every day, very picky on helping outside of class. Do not take unless you're a finance major and need it
This is hands down the most disorganized Professor i'v every had. She does not give you an outline of the Semester; she will "just let you know". She makes things up as she goes and therefore gives you the wrong answer & shows you how to do the problem incorrectly. Nothing is clear with her. Extremely disappointed. DO NOT TAKE HER. SHES AWFUL!!!
This is the worst teacher I have had in my life. No exaggeration. She reads from the power points which have nothing to do with tests or quizes. She does not teach she just does the problems with out explaining anything. Very inconsistent grader. Terrible all around terrible. Good luck.
Frohlich is BY FAR the worst professor I've ever had. Makes problems more complicated than they should be, and makes lectures unbearably boring by reading word for word, but you have to attend in case she gives a quiz. Never touched the book once, and if there was ever an example of all the negative things tenure causes, look no further than her.
Avoid this class at all costs! She seems like a nice enough person but her lectures are like watching paint dry! Test were beyond difficult! This was the only class I have ever had to drop and I believe it was because of a bad professor! If in the worst possible case that you have to take her class take her in Summer!
Shes absolutely terrible. Reads straight from the PowerPoints. Dont ask her questions because she wont be able to answer them with out getting annoyed. Doesnt know her subject either. All around bad teacher. Avoid her at all costs.
Take her during the summer. She makes you work for your grade, but her unfavorable reputation is exaggerated. Exams are very consistent with her study guides, and the material is all on Canvas. PRACTICE the TVM & bond valuation problems until you have them down. Dont waste a dime on the textbook, you wont need it. Good luck!
This class is extremely easy if you have any knowledge of finance previously. The exams are all multiple choice and basically common-sense questions. I didn't use the textbook once.
Dr. Frohlich is a good teacher. You have to go to her classes or you won't pass. Exams are both conceptual and practical, make sure you are comfortable with bonds, TVM, transmission mechanism, read the chapters.
WORST professor at UNF hands down. Unfortunately, she is the only professor who teaches this class and it is mandatory for Coggin College graduates. Be ready to teach yourself TVM because she won't. Pop quizzes in almost every class and long tedious projects. Tutor recommended.
Horrible person, tries to make you fail. Keep track of your grade because I guarantee it will be different... Class is awful reads strait from the PowerPoint at a tone and speed you cant keep up with or understand, best part she doesnt let you access to the powerpoints. Says stuff in class she wont put an announcement out for such as upcoming quizs
Worst professor in Coggin. Even the other business professors think she's a terrible professor. Very boring, dry, and confusing lectures. Calculus is much easIer than her class. She's only here because of tenure. Her tests, quizzes, and hw instructions have such poor grammar that they become difficult to interpret. The hw is basically projects.
I literally finished with over a 100 in her class cause I just paid attention. Go to office hours and ask her stuff, and she'll walk you through every question like a toddler. She's kind of boring, but financial institutions as a whole are super boring. Class is structured old-school, so be able to do elementary level math without a calculator
Hands down worst Professor in Coggin. Only still around due to tenure. Manages to make what is supposed to be an intro-level finance course the most difficult class in the finance department. Teaches nothing to you in a way that is transparent. Bond problems and Time Value of Annuity problems are what you must know to pass her class. Awful, awful.
I'm still in the middle of the semester but her class is by far my least favorite. Lectures are really dry and boring since much of what she says in class can be found in the textbook. Her assignment instruction files are also really messy and hard to follow at times (she used way too many different fonts and colors for Assignment 3). Overall, meh.
Worst professor I've had in my 4 years at UNF. Took her class (Financial Institutions) to get some of my last business elective credits to graduate and made a critical mistake. This entry level class is harder than my 5000 level finance courses. I'm basically wasting tuition money to teach myself the whole course. Aim far away from this class.
Incredibly difficult. One homework assignment will take in excess of 15-20 hours. Instructions are always vague and often incorrect. Test are near impossible. lectures are monotone and the information is not relevant to the assignments or test. She will get hostile if you go to her for help. Lucky for you she is the only professor :) Have fun
Class is comprised of very few, very difficult assignments. You are not given a lot of time to prepare these assignments. She is the only professor for this course and has an average gpa of 2.0 on her ISQ reviews. You cant avoid this class if you are a finance major so get ready to struggle. Nice lady to talk to but that is the only good thing
This class is remarkably hard for a 3000 level class. The teacher says she cares about learning more than grades but does not post accurate instructions and even forgets to post quizzes on quiz days leaving students hanging. She also does not provide useful help during office hours. Wish there was another professor. I am struggling
Absolutely AVOID! She takes a while to communicate back to you, unclear instructions, always changing due dates. Seems to barely know how to work Canvas. Emails responses for student A to student B so student A never even gets answered. Literally has "instructions/answer guides" that in her words "The answers to the problems may not be correct"
Avoid at all cost. Dr. Frohlich is unresponsive to emails and frequently moves due dates with no notification and sometimes even moves quizzes on the day of the quiz. Instructions for homework have been 30+ pages with deliverables 15 pages long or more. She overuses formatting like highlights making things even more confusing.
Class is way harder than it should be. The professor is not helpful
Nothing in this class makes any sense. Dr. Frohlich even acknowledges that the problems and answers in the study guide may not be correct. How anyone could possibly succeed in this class is beyond me.
Sets overly-high standards for An introductory course. She does not explain the expectations or give us the resources to complete the assignments. Its more or less "figure it out yourself as you go." Prepare to spend all your nights and weekends working on ludicrously complex assignments. Homework problems take more than 10 pages each usually.
Do not even bother. Lady sucks.
Completed her first exam today. I am beyond certain that I failed. Looks like I am not the only one who thinks this. Stay strong
If you want to test your self-learning ability, please take her class. :)
This is an EXTREMELY unorganized course, it's unfortunately a waste of time and money. You will teach yourself everything, and random assignments will be outrageously long (some are actually projects, ex. a 35 pg. incoherent pdf of instructions). Studying for her exams is a hail Mary. AVOID if you can.
Class is almost to easy. Test are just like the homeworks. People love to complain because they want an easy A and dont want to even try. Try harder!!!
Not easy but not hard. She gives great feedback. Instructions could be a little clearer but that is okay. She is the only professor of this course and its okay because she is great. Shes been teaching for 30+ years for a reason. Just know how to do a TVM and you will be fine
While this class is certainly very difficult it is far from impossible. Dr Frohlich walks you through everything if you only go to her office hours
Nice woman. Poor teacher. Reads word for word from powerpoint, then gives exams that are from different material. I am a bio major, so I am not built for stupid business classes, but she did not make it any more palatable. If you want an easy B then take her, but don't expect to learn much especially if you care about GPA like me.
Since classes are paid for the student should receive some sort of coherent instruction. If you spend hours every week dedicated to her class you'll pass, you might as well be teaching yourself. The examples and instructions for work in the course may have mistakes (or are incorrect), and often have grammatical errors and skip necessary parts.
Practically whispers the lectures, terrible course structure. If you actually want to learn something, DO NOT register for this class.
One of the worst professors I have ever taken at UNF, class is not structured at all and all she does is read word for word from the PowerPoint and textbook. She is a nice lady, but the worst professor I've had to deal with. She does have office hours, but would not recommend taking this class once she retires after this semester.
She can read all the powerpoint all she want. That Big BBC is gonna come out of that projector to strike that mouth mmmmmmmmm.
