she is a good teacher ... she try her best to teach her student who needs help ... dont hate her if your not doing well...maybe you should raise your hand more... she is a hard working teeacher ... i really appriciate what she is doing

She explains everything very well, although she will mark you off if you forget the = signs on the test, it will only make you remember it more on the nnext test. She will even take off your lowest test scores and give you extra credit points.

If it wern't for Gibby, I wouldn't know I have learning disabilities and would not be going for my MA right now. If she overhears there is a study group she might just show up to help. All the people that said she is not helpful must not have asked her questions before or after class. Maybe they don't realize that they may be holding up the rest of the class and she has a job to do. I LOVE MRS. GIBBY. She is the best teacher I have ever had.

She was a great teacher. If I didnt show up to class one day, i didnt have to worry about it, becuase she always answers all the questions and goes over everything the class is struggling with. Her tests were very easy, and she always gives out practice tests. This is coming from a really math handicapped person.

Great teacher, she has a real kind heart and is willing to help anywhere you need it. One thing, you have to ask for the help, she can not read your mind, nor does she know if you wnat the help, if you are not doing to good, you must ask...

she's ok..i mean she tries 2 help u wen u need help but wen she does da lectures :(..there so boring n u wont get how she got da answer n da test she grades them detail by detail...she marked off points just bcuz i rounded 2 early

take her not an easy teacher, but her practice tests are very helpful take advantage of it. if you have to calculus in the future.

Mrs. Gibby is a great teacher and she is very helpful. She gives a lot of homework, but if you do your homework and do the practice exam then you will do well in the class.

This class makes u show lots of work. If u can include all steps, take it. If not, dont take it. Her hw does help u on the test and is given partial point so u must do hw but she's picky on hw. Take advantage of her pratice test. She is a great teacher but the class itself isnt easy. If ur not good at math, dont take it.

This teacher was great. I took the 7am class, and her voice does get kind of monotone-ish at times. All you do is copy notes, but they're really detailed. She tells you exactly how you have to do things on the test. Hw is required for partial credit on tests, but it helps you A LOT. I heard spring '07 is her last semester teaching Math 141 though.

mrs. gibby is a really sweet lady. shes really helpful too and you can tell that she really wants you to succeed. i get the feeling she really cares about her students. to get an a in the class you'll have to work hard, but its worth it. partial credit on tests, and to succeed in the class you HAVE TO DO YOUR HW.

Goes into A LOT of detail but notes she hands out make it easy.Review sheets she hands before each test really get you prepared for the test.Goes over HW at start of every class so if u don't understand it she will clarify.If u have the chance 2 take her I recommend doing so

She's the best. I never had a chance to understand and love math this way. she gave me a chance to love her subject plus even more than that :) .. If ur looking for help in math , take her class, she's really good

Good teacher, but goes way too fast. I couldn't really keep up in her class. I'm not good at math, so my whole life got taken up with her homework. I thought she gave a lot of homework for one point each. I also found her to be a very hard grader. I passed, but it was stressful. I wished I had taken another professor.

She is an extremely strict grader because she prepares all of her students as if they were going on to Calculus. But she's very nice and very helpful. If you like a challenge, take her. Not a class you can just float through. If you put in the effort, you'll pass.

she is an awesome math teacher..i mean i HATE math with PASSION it's so not my thing..but dang..she teaches really good and she is patient and would go slow and stop at a lesson if one of us dont understand..she is so cool!! reccomendation..take gibby..she is awesome!!

OH my gosh! I LOVE HER! I've never had a teacher more willing to help you every step of the way. Math is hard, and she's extremely patient and dedicated to her students. A lot of homework, and if you don't do the homework, you won't pass.

She can be confusing, but is always willing to help when you need it. All of the homework is online, and there is a lot of it, but you do have a chance to get 100 on it all the time if you are willing to do the work.

She is organized and helpful im not a math person and i got through it , take her. Not a class you can just float through. If you put in the effort, you'll pass.

Love this teacher..gives amazing printed notes that are extremely useful during her lectures and independent work and studying..however you need to pay attention and ask lots of questions..gives random points for correcting her or answering a question..basically goes a great job..def take her for math 20 or 40 and possibly beyond

Okay, this is it guys: I took her 7am class (imagine how painful it was). Yes, she is monotoned, etc. Her class was very difficult..BUT I managed to pass w/ an A. She is always willing to help. I'm no math genius either, I seriously worked for it. Her notes are TYPED too (which I loved). & also gives a practice exam which helps ALOT! Take her

Took this class during summer. Must say it`s extremely fast. You have to be committed, do your work, pay full attention. As long as you keep up the good work, you`ll be ok. If you`re not serious about your math, though, Mrs. Gibby is definitely not for you. She is a strict grader. Recommended only for real "soldiers". ;-)

Ms. gibby is a great teacher by far. out of all of the math teachers i took she was very detailed and made sure that everyone was able to understand her. some people thought she taught slow but she taught that way for a reason. she really understands the meaning of no student left behind. you only fail in this class if YOU DONT TRY!

Ms.Gibby is a great math teacher. She is very clear and precise on what or how she wants things and gives you plenty of chances to do so. She gives out study guides for all her test and if you do them its almost a certain A/B. She is very fair when grading and gives partial points. I highly reccomend her and am going to take her again in the fall.

Some of these ratings are over exaggerated. Okay math is hard. If algebras completely new to you, then taking her class might be difficult. The hw/quizzes arent too much. The study guide helps so do it. If you need a slower class then DONT even consider taking her. It just depends on what you like. Other than that I didn't have a problem w/ her.

Overall she is a great teacher that cares about her students. She does assign a lot of homework which uses my math lab. She gives a golden review for every test. Do the golden review and know how to do those problems and you'll get an A on the test.

She's helpful. Willing to answer questions. She wants you understand. She encourages you to go to S.I. if you don't have a class during its session, especially if you don't understand. It really helps you get more clarification. Do the hw/quizzes. Its not too much, just the lessons that were taught in class. Do the study guides.

i'm reading these reviews and wondering why are people crying on here? boo hoo??? dude this class isnt that hard. i guess it depends on how you mesh with the teacher. and yeah itll help if you know some algebra. and im confused about the monotone part. mr clear eye guy is monotone NOT mrs gibby.

AWESOME TEACHER! Very lenient and helpful. I aced the final with a 94% and she made my 89% overall grade into an A. So just do all the work and you will do good. If not then you will fail. Simple. She doesn't assign a lot of work for her health, it's for your benefit. So do it!

She is an awesome teacher! People here arent giving her credit probably because they failed her class, but she maps out all her lessons to a "T" and gives u all the tools to pass. My only complaint is a little much HW and the reviews are long (80q.) but its for ur own good to learn the material. Just don't be lazy and do the work and u'll get an A.

It wasn't fun having to sit through this class for an hour and 50 minutes at 7 AM. If you dislike math as much as I do, try taking it at a later time AT LEAST because Professor Gibby's voice does get a bit tedious after a while. Assuming that you have more drive to listen to her lectures than I did, though, you'll learn a lot. She's a good teacher.

I like this teacher a LOT. It is a lot of work, definitely. You need it if you really want to learn the material, though. The 80 question exam reviews she gives out before each exam are the key to the whole class. If you can master those, you're golden (heh). You'll be so proud of yourself when you complete the course!

I LOVE professor Gibby. It's beyond me how she's only rated a 3.4 - people must really want a free ride. Mymathlab is BRILLIANT and CRYSTAL CLEAR as well. She's not easy, but SHE'LL PREPARE YOU TO TAKE YOUR TRANSFERABLE MATH CLASS (which is why you're taking math 20/40). Do you want to go to a UC/CSU? Take her, put the effort in, and pass it.

Cheryl Gibby is outstanding! Yeah she's a little monotone, but she has a heart of gold and wants her students to do well and puts a ton of effort into making sure you understand the material. She's not easy but she's very fair. Tests are a lot easier than the HW (she prepares you) so if you do the HW you'll be fine. Take her class she's very solid.

I recommend Ms. Gibby very strongly. She is really, really fair and is genuinely interested in the students doing well. I can't say she made me a fan of math, but I failed it last time I took it and this time I got an A because her class is set up so that if you do the work, you do well. It's a LOT of work, but that's math for you.

Uses question off her reviews for the exams. Her class comes with S.I. which I recommend going to if you don't fully understand the work. Homework is done online (mymathlab). Calculators are allowed in her class. Didn't have to buy the text for math 20. She is picky about showing your work. I definitely plan on taking her again for math 40.

Great teacher. Only downsides are that she's picky about the work, goes a little fast, and has the hw & quizzes online. Other than that she explains the concepts clearly, answers any questions based on what you didn't get, and provides SI sessions. The SI sessions are extremely helpful. The tutor is very friendly, patient, and a very good teacher.

She's the reason I majored in Math. Reflecting back, she was one of the very best who I learned the most from.
