I found this teacher to be extremely helpful and open to new ideas/techniques for speaking. She does not force students to adhere to a strict set of guidelines regarding the speeches. "Ms. G." is an outstanding professor. She is extremely knowledgeable about the topic (she's an actress), gives clear instructions and always provides supportive criticism. Her tests are challenging, but extra credit is available.

She was great, i got d's on all the quizzes, but i did well on the speeches as long as you do them you'll do well, so much extra credit. i got an A in the class.

A very enthusiastic professor on the topic of public speaking. Truly loves what she does, I would only suggest that this class is taken in a 16 wk course, because there is a lot of material to cover in 8 wks, and she covers it all.

She is awesome. I hate speech, but she made me feel relaxed before my speeches and I got all A's on them. There are a few tests throughout but they really are easy. There is no overwhelming amount of work so if you just do it all and go to class then you will definitely get an A!

The sweetest teacher you will ever have. She is really soft spoken and gives lots of opportunities for extra credit too. You can miss class twice but if you email her it doesn't count as an absence. The speeches you do are interesting and they take 4 days for everyone to present

There are 3 exams, first two are open note and not that hard, last one is not open. Offers a bunch of extra credit, and has a few pop quizzes, but they aren't that bad! Take her! :)

Having to sign up for Speech 101 is awful to think about, but after taking it with her, I would definitely choose her. Show up to class for numerous extra credit opportunities throughout the course, very encouraging and enthusiastic teacher, a few quizzes which are all open book except one and four major speeches throughout the course (Narrative, Demonstrative, Informative, and Persuasive) , pretty straight forward, pay attention in class, a Pop Quiz might come!

Ms. Cheryl Golemo is awesome!!!! this is my first class at a college. I'm a junior in highschool and im passing the class with an A. She wants you to do well. There is a first day pop-quiz but you get a chance to take it again at the end of the year and get a higher grade.

Really great teacher. Extra credit given during class for game reviews and volunteering and seeing outside speaker events at Harper. Sometimes if you show up on time there a random extra credit given! She's caring and funny. She coached me for a real speech I had to give outside of class, too, and wrote a great letter or rec for a scholarship!

I was dreading taking speech, but professor Golemo is wonderful! The speeches are easy as long as you put in effort. She gives feedback on all assignments so you know what you did well, and what to work on. She responds quickly to emails, and is helpful when you have questions. I just wish she taught more classes so I could take her again.

If you've never taken speech PLS TAKE IT WITH MS. GOLEMO YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! She is so sweet, caring, and gives great feedback. Class consists of 4 speeches (intro., narrative, informative, and persuasive). PPT slides are how the class is taught, you listen to the audio. Textbook needed (about $20). 8 quizzes 3 exams (super easy).

She is an easy grader just follow the outline she gives you! I would write my paper in 2 days and get an A+. I'm not a good at writing essays or speaking but this class was great. Email her questions she answers fast. She gives extra credit, has super simple quizzes (4?) and only 3 essays (with speech) for the semester. TAKE THIS ONLINE CLASS!

If you are nervous about taking speech please take her course. She is an amazing professor that cares about her students. Textbook is a small booklet that is easy to read and lectures are entertaining. You will not regret taking her course!!!!

WOW just WOW, professor Golemo is the right SPE 101 professor to take, she is very lenient in your speeches and does want you to pass this class with an A. There are 5 total speeches to take in front of the class, you're usually only given 2 weeks to prepare for them, but even if you feel you did bad she will still give you an above average grade.

She's a very caring person who wants all of her students to succeed as well as a great professor. Her class is fairly easy, but even if you are struggling she gives a lot of extra credit opportunities, especially nearing the end. If you need a speech credit, absolutely take her.

Probably one of the sweetest professors you'll meet. Pop quiz at the beginning of the course, but don't worry because you can retake it at the end to see what you've learned, so don't be intimidated! She gives a lot of extra credit to boost your grade and is not a harsh grader. There are three exams that are pretty easy, and they're all open note!

Professor Golemo is such a great speech professor! She knows how difficult giving a speech is for some students and makes it an enjoyable experience. I came back to harper after a decade and this was my first class. What an amazing teacher, she made everyone feel comfortable, i genuinely went to each class of how much i learned and how warm professor golemo is. you can not do bad in this class, she genuinely cares so much, shares her own stories and a easy grader with many extra credit chances.

If you have the chance to take speech with Prof. Golemo, I would recommend! Public speaking is not my favorite, but her class made it very manageable!
