I LOVED this professor. She is very clear with the info and I always understood everything. She did a lot outside of the book and gave notes for this stuff. She did a LOT of "how to teach" material. Will use ALL of her information later when teaching!!! Her tests were pretty easy... all you need to do is show up to class! Youll want to anyway :)
She was a GREAT teacher! I loved every class i had with her. Our whole class loved her and she was very easy to understand. She taught in a way that EVERYONE could get it. Our whole class begged to have her for MATHS 202 :) I would highly suggest you get this teacher!
This class was pretty good for being a math class. I really hate math but it wasnt hard and she is kind of funny. She made the class interesting. I didnt dread going to math class!
She is scatterbrained, Just show up to class, do the work. She is not very helpful but funny!
She was awesome. Probably one of my favorite profs at BSU. Her class is pretty easy, she teaches so you can understand.
I had her for 201 and liked her but when I had her again for 391 she was not as nice and fun. There were a few problems through the semester and she's not very organized. She tries to make it interesting. I'd recommend her over what else BSU has to offer in this dept.
Nice lady, but I could not stand her class. The content from class is at an elementary school level and a waste of my time. I could have spent my time, efforts, and money toward something worthwhile.
She's not very organized, a little scatter brained, but you'll learn to deal. She's a jokester. Really nice as a person, I liked her. Flexible, will go out of her way to help you. Directions were often unclear, there was a lot of guess work involved on my part as a student. Despite all that, she's kind-hearted, which makes her faults bearable.
Math 202 was an easy class but she gave a lot of busy work. One thing I really liked was that she did a lot of hands on Geometry activities to help understand the concepts. I didn't like how she gave homework from the book but never graded it. Very scatterbrained, and most of your grade is based on four tests (Midterm and Final included).
One of the worst teachers I had. Very scatter brained, doesn't listen to her students, and is not very organized. I would recommend finding a different teacher. She is good if you are really smart, if not good luck.
Very knit-picky on grading, include EVERY detail or expect to lose points. She will also assign a lot of homework then only collect a small portion of it. She's also pretty scatterbrained. I wouldn't recommend her, but there's not really much better...
She is a very picky grader and assigns A LOT of work that is rarely collected. She is way too excited about math at 8:00 am, so if you're not a morning person, I don't suggest that. She's also not afraid to call you out in front of the whole class if you don't have your homework. Her tests are super hard so study a lot!
To be frank, she is a spinning image of Prof Umbridge from Harry Potter. She is lazy when it comes to teaching. Yes, you may get an easy A, but if you want to have a prof actually teach you something, she's not the one for you. Also, she's very over-dramatic about EVERYTHING. If you are easily peeved by dramatic people, stay out of her class.
She looks exactly like professor Umbridge from Harry Potter. I can not stand how she talks and her facial expressions. But after you get over that she is a pretty good teacher. If you go to class and work on the homework there is no reason why you shouldn't get at least a C in here.
RUn Run
She is the worst teacher I have ever had! She does not care about her students at all. She is extremely obnoxious and does not know how to multiply one digit numbers. She is useless and there are some students who could teach her class better than her.
This class should be easy, but there are no excuses with her. If you are sick, you better show up, if you are going through loss, show up, etc.. Also there is homework EVERY night, and most the time it is not collected. If you are like me, you are average in Math, and I am worked my butt off to pull a C. Very hard to get an A.
She is a really good teacher. She does expect you do do the work and do it right, but she is the best 201 teacher at BSU. People who complain are the ones that are rude and really deserved an F because they refused to listen to her directions. Class is hard with which ever teacher you get, but if you have her stick with her! It will pay off!
This absolute worst teacher I have ever had she will NEVER help you if you have a question. She is useless and also marks off for the most ridiculous things. She is by far my least favorite teacher I have ever had. She is annoying and unhelpful.
She nit picks EVERYTHING on homework and tests. I worked my butt off and only got a C. She refuses to help anyone with questions and is very rude.
Although this class is hard, you will learn how to teach math properly. Kneubuhler is highly qualified, models best-practice math techniques, recommends quality teacher resources, and assigns meaningful homework. This work is only graded for completion. She grades the exams very hard. I am hoping to have her again for 391. Would suggest
She is hands down the worst teacher I have ever had. She makes you feel terrible about yourself. And when you think you do very well on a test, better think again, you most likely failed it. She is the toughest grader on the most unrelated parts of your work. For example, I put an L instead of writing out length and got points taken off. RUN AWAY.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU CAN HELP IT. IF YOU GET HER, DROP IT. Horrible teacher, makes class so boring. She personally killed my GPA. Hated her class, hated her. She made the entire thing seem pointless.
Not a good professor. Extremely slow grader, and SO nit picky. She grades tests harder than any other teacher I've ever had. However, she does know math. So if you go to class, you should pass.
I thoroughly enjoyed having her as a professor. She was great and always understanding of questions. I also liked her light sense of humor, which made the class not so dreary. Don't be afraid to have her, I learned a lot from her classes.
TERRIBLE. Dr. K is the the least helpful professor I have ever had. I feel sorry for any student who ever has to take a class with her. She is rude and sarcastic. She does not want her students to succeed. DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH HER.
Worst teacher I have ever had. She is rude, and does not care if you pass. My grandmother was in the hospital and she told me this was no excuse for missing class. If you have to take this class do not take it with her. Also, she a very picky grader.
Toughy. She is a ridiculous grader. But the homework is useful and not overbearing. She does not put up with any crap. Tells a cheesy joke everyday. Come to class, bring materials, and keep your phone OFF. Slackers sneaking by hate her class. Workers resent, but appreciate it. Passing:work hard, study, and PLAY HER GAME. It's the only way. You Can Do It.
GREAT teacher! I had to retake this class and I am so glad I had Mrs. Kneubuhler! She is so fun and makes class exciting. The only people that would dislike her are slackers that don't want to work hard or follow rules! She is always willing to help! You will do well if you come to class ready to learn, do ALL your HW, and study for tests!
She is a picky grader on test. I took in summer so she collected most of the homework, but a lot of times she would ask if we wanted it collected. I suggest saying yes if she ask because you can do ok in the class if she collects most of the homework and you do average of the test. Homework and attendance is a must! She has a loud personaility.
Unclear about assignments and gives out study guides the class before the test is going to be taken. Ineffective teacher.
Mrs Kneubuhler can come across a little rude but she really is a great teacher! She does care for her students and wants them to do well but she is not going to baby you either. She expects students to be responsible adults! Be prepared to work hard and do all the assignments. Don't be afraid to ask for help! Her tests are very straightforward.
DO NOT TAKE HER! I got an A, but I dedicated MY LIFE to this class, so no its not just slackers who don't like her. She wasn't willing to meet outside of office hours (which I had class during). Her assignments don't match the lectures or the chapters. Set aside 4-6 hours PER CLASS for her homework, not to mention her test are EXTREMELY hard!
If you like math, you won't after you have her for. Not loyal, unappreciative , she don't want us to succeed so you know what I did, I dropped the class. Rude, impatient, not generous. Give hw every class, if you get a bad feeling about her just drop the class before it's too late!!!
Try as hard as you can not to take 201 with her. She is not helpful at all and makes you feel stupid when you ask questions. She is more often than not late to class and then holds us over (its a 2 hour class). When she teaches with example problems she gives the wrong answers and doesn't notice so other student in the class have to correct her.
Kneubuhler makes you feel completely stupid when you ask her questions. She does not always understand half the material she's teaching us, yet continues to act like we're ready for the test that day. Does not give out study guides, no extra credit, and little to no help on anything in general. I would NOT recommend taking this teacher.
She is such a nit picky grader! You could lose at least 5-10 points on a test because of how picky she is. She is very unclear most of the time when answering your questions. Spends TOO much time on homework to where you don't learn anything in class for your new homework that night. She is also very ditsy, AWFUL with technology. Can be soo rude!
DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH HER. She is not only a terrible teacher, she's a terrible heartless person who doesn't want her students to succeed. She will make you feel bad if you miss class even if a family member is in the hospital or worse. Takes off points for unrealeted things on test. I will never complain about another teacher after her.
DO NOT TAKE THE CLASS WITH HER!!! She doesn't really treat her students like they are college students, she treats them like they are in the grade level we are learning at. Don't ask her if something will be on the test because she will think you're questioning her. Students have to correct her several times. Goes over homework more than teaches.
Does not know how to explain her own material, students constantly correct her. If you ask a question she doesn't help, she just gets mad you asked. Any unexpectant circumstances come up in life, don't even bother to tell her, she won't be understanding and you will receive a 0.
I would have to say that Mrs. Kneubuhler is truly one of the hardest professors that I have ever had. That being said you will learn so much in her class and she only wants to prepare you for the real world of teaching. Don't skip class and pay very close attention and you will be fine. Good Luck!
She is the most disrespectful professor I've ever met. Have any questions? Don't go to her. She will make you feel stupid for even asking. She is rude and condescending. She has no idea what she is doing at all. She is so unorganized and it is VERY frustrating. Avoid her at all costs.
If you are the kind of student who slacks off and thinks you can just not go to class and not do the work then you will fail. She does give "a lot" of homework but it is a math course so you should expect that much. People say she is a tough grader but really she isn't there is usually only one answer to a math question.
Dr. K is extremely disorganized. Very unprepared. Very forgetful. Cell phone police (don't you dare have your phone out in her class). However, I have heard she is the best to have in preparation for your math Pearson test.
Dr. K can come across as rude. I thought she was nice and funny. There is a lot of homework each night and tests are HARD. Lesson plans were super easy! (Get a good partner!) She tries to make each class fun with games and hands-on activities. Come to class prepared to learn and prepared to work and you'll do great!
Cheryl was a math-crazy lady who always assigned pages of worksheets for homework. Tests were really hard, STUDY in advance. Lots of hands on materials for examples in teaching.
She was one of the best math professors and I learned so much from this class. She does give a lot of homework but the homework that she gives is directly reflected on her tests. Her tests are very straightforward and if you go to class you will do fine. She can come off as disorganized but she does a great job of teaching the material!
Whatever you do DO NOT take her class. I am someone who always does great in math but I'm suffering every night because of her. I have at least 2 hours of homework every night. She is the WORST professor I have ever had. She takes off huge points on test for no reason and will not listen to her students needs.
If you know what you're doing in math, you'll bet an A-B. But if math isn't your best subject, I'd go for another teacher. More than half of our class dropped because they were failing. There's tons of homework also.
Absolutely terrible. Have questions? She won't answer them. Struggling with homework? That's probably because she didn't teach you how to do it until after she collected it. Tests- difficult. Class- stressful. Cheryl- awful. I do not recommend this course. It is frustrating and upsetting. Elementary math should not be this hard.
She literally teaches to to the last second of class. Everyday we go over the homework we had the night before and barely learn the new material for that night's homework. She grades ridiculously hard for no reason. She is all over the place and is barely prepared for class. If you have a question, she won't talk to you during class.
I've always loved & been very good with math, but Dr. K. is a very hard professor. She grades on very certain things but doesn't tell you what, is a bit unorganized, and believes that there is no excuse strong enough to miss class. There is so much homework and the tests are hard, so be ready to put a lot of time and effort into this class.
hater central, she is a good professor everyone is just too lazy to actually put in work
If you take this class be prepared for at least 2-3 hours of homework after each class. Kneubuhler can be very rude and condescending. She is also a very tough grader so know that you will have points taken off for the smallest mistakes. She tries to make in class work hands on, which is the only real positive to her class. Would not recommend.
She was very unorganized. She was helpful at times but she does not give second chances. She was a good teacher but being in her class ruined my whole day. She gives you a participation grade at the end of the semester that is worth 5% of your grade so if she doesn't like you, your grade will suffer.
I would definitely not recommend this course for ANYONE who is taking this course for anyone who is actually wanting to pass math201. She is very unorganized a lot of the times. She always a VERY tough grader for assignments and tests. My advise is to make sure you know the material if anyone does end up having her or you will not pass this course.
She is the WORST teacher I have ever had in my life. Stay AWAY! She is so unorganized. She is non-negotiable on grades, even if you got the answer right. She will take your phone away if you get on it & count you absent. She gives you loads of homework and she says she will count for completion but actually does it for correctness. Dont take her!!
By far the worst professor I have ever had. She is rude, doesn't take into account that students are STUDENTS and need to learn the material, not jut go over it. I think she is very condescending when it comes to homework grades versus test grades. Tests are HARD, so make sure to have a good study group.
SO. MUCH. WORK! Don't show up to class? Be prepared to fail. No reason is good enough for you to miss. This is suppose to be HOW to teach math and develop lesson plans. Instead it's a lot of DOING math on our own, which isn't always graded. Guess what? You repeat a lot of 201 material in the end. Don't even THINK about using your phone. Don't take!
Cheryl Kneubuhler is the worst professor I have EVER had at Ball State. She is a very fake person and will make it seem like she's nice, then makes really rude and snide comments constantly. She also grades the tests RIDICULOUSLY hard and does not prepare you at all to be a teacher. Hours of homework every night. Do not take her!!!!!
I have NEVER struggled with a teacher as much as I have with this one. She consistently makes the students feel like they do not mean anything to her, she has poor accommodation skills and she is VERY unorganized. I do countless hours of homework to the point that I was sleep-deprived and it was affecting my other classes. Do not take her.
She is the worst professor I have ever had. She is rude, nonnegotiable, forgetful, and disorganized. She assigns so much homework but rarely collects any of it for a grade, when she does it is only worth 2-4 points. She is a hard, unfair grader and is "not willing to negotiate" her grading. She is also very confusing , I have learned nothing!
worst teacher I have ever had. class work itself is ok IF you go everyday. She is a VERY strict grader and does not negotiate grades. takes points off even if the answer is correct, will not accept that she is wrong. She will not take late work even if you missed bc of a funeral. If you miss her class/she does not like you, your grade will suffer.
I did end up with a good grade but had to go back spend hours of homework and just review. If you get her I would recommend not to take any other hard classes because I spend around 5 hours every night trying to finish her work. Wouldnt recommend
Good luck! She is very difficult to work with and manages to make "baby math" challenging. She does not always grade fairly but besides the part that matters for your grade, she is sweet. She teaches well and always does cute jokes but that's about it. If you can avoid her please do but if not, be ready for hours of homework each night.
Honestly, this is one of the most difficult professors Ive ever had. Her communication style is extremely unclear, and if you dont understand whats going on then thats pretty much on you. She has talked about me behind my back (peers told me) & even said rude things to my face and tried to take my phone once. Save yourself the H E A D A C H E.
First teacher that I had at ball state and it was the worst time of my life. AWFUL
No matter what work must be turned in by due date. You must basically be dying to receive any credit on late work. There is about 10 videos a week to watch along with about 5ish hw assignments each week. lectures are prerecorded. Basically it seemed that there was a lot of work and responsibility on the students and not instructor. Dont recommend
Absolutely horrible, never take Math 202 or any course for that matter with her. She takes weeks to email back if she does at all, and she has assigned over 40 homework assignments this semester (the semester isnt even over yet). She takes months to grade, and isnt very consistent with the grading. 0/10 wouldnt recommend.
HARDEST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. She is a nice person, don't get me wrong, I would like as a person but as a prof, avoid her at all costs. So so so much homework, strict grader, and sometimes takes days to respond to emails. If you have 7+ hours to do homework everyday of the week take this class, otherwise avoid it, so much work!!!
This class is impossible. 202 with her will stress you out to the max, way more work here than in 201 even though it is one less credit hour? She is nice, the content is not too hard but she is such a strict grader and gives way too much work. The tests are not bad, they are honestly easier than the homework. Just a lot of work and a tough grader!
her and her TA take weeks to grade homework. shes not lenient, considering all thats going on. ball state switched professors on me and she wasnt supposed to be my professor, and they truly messed things up for me. even turning in the homework wont get you any points. it has to be right or itll be a zero. good luck.
Avoid her at all costs. SO. MUCH. HOMEWORK. Grading takes WEEKS. and often is not right or you're given little points for homework that takes upwards for three hours. Takes FOREVER to get an email response back. VERY rude and condescending. This class was HORRIBLE. be prepared to buy $20 worth of supplies. (special paper, colored pencils, etc.)
Unclear grading criteria. Way to much homework. Even assigned a full week of homework Thanksgiving week. The videos do not always coincide with the homework. I had to have homework assignments explained to me by a friend who is a engineering student at another university to understand. I did not learn one thing to help me actually teach math.
This professor was so unorganized and confusing the course was tough to get through. Homework was assigned after every class meeting and had many parts to it. Homework took multiple hours to complete. Grading was often confusing at times as she did not elaborate on her reasoning for taking off points.
I took this as an asynchronous course online. Everything was explained very well and in-depth. There were some days that had a significant amount of homework but it was not difficult, usually just tedious. She was always accessible by email and kind.
All you need to know is she wont answer your questions, she will assign 10 pages of homework and then not collect it, you will get test questions wrong unless your strategy was done EXACTLY like hers, and if you dont show up to class she can and probably will not accept your work if you dont have a real reason to not show up.
Stay away from this professor. She is nice, but her class is awful. She will assign an insane amount of homework and only grade some of it. You cant miss a single class because she probably wont accept your homework. Her communication skills are terrible. She is not very understanding of COVID whatsoever. I was always stressed out in this class!
Professor Kneubuhler is a super harsh grader. It makes it seem like she doesnt want any of her students to get As just on how harsh she grades. She wont negotiate grades with you either, so it is very frustrating. I do not recommended taking this course because it is so hard to keep a good grade and even class is frustrating.
I cannot stress enough, do not take Kneubuhler if you don't have to! She is all over the place with her lectures. There's homework every day, and there is no late work allowed, so if you forget something you are screwed. Exams and tests are so difficult. (Pretty much everyone failed the first exam in my class.) She's upbeat, but not good.
Many students dislike Professor K., but I don't see much of a problem with her. She's funny, kind, and relatable. Her grading is tough and the class is heavily weighted on exams. Coming to class is mandatory. She allows one notecard per exam. She genuinely cares about the MATH 202 class and loves teaching it.
This lady is a nightmare. Do not take her. She is RIDICULOUS. She gets confused while teaching, Is rude in person and in emails. I had a situation where i was unable to come to class and tried to give a heads up and all she said was you have enough time to come to class Also never grades anything. She is an awful teacher.
I have had my fair share of teachers I havent liked but she makes everyone else seem likable. Most of what you do in class doesnt relate to the homework and she refuses to believe that she makes mistakes while grading. Disrespects students by calling them dumb while refusing to own up to her and her TAs grading mistakes. Takes off pts w/o explai
She seems like a sweet person but she focuses on the wrong things. If you send an email and make a grammatical error she will correct you without answering your question. If you need to miss class forget about it she will not collect you hw. Most advisors tell you to drop this class with her as professor. Good luck!
Although she seems like a nice person outside of class, I truly do not respect her as a teacher. The content isnt very difficult however her extremely specific grading style guarantees you wont get full points,
DO NOT TAKE ANY CLASSES WITH HER! At the beginning of the semester, she said homework was only graded on completion. If she says this she's lying. Homework was collected and graded. Attendance is mandatory and she freaks out when people don't show up. Her tests are made for you to fail. It's her way or no way, and she'll make sure you know it.
Prof. K is not a good teacher. She is horrible at time management, she will go over homework for 35 of the 50 minutes we are in there and then introduce a new topic 5 minutes before we leave. Gives homework every single day, with no exceptions. Has quite a temper if you have emergencies. Overall, would never recommend her.
Unfortunately Professor Kneubuhler is not a professor I would ever recommend for anyone. She rarely replies to emails, gives a ridiculous amount of homework that she almost never picks up, and she doesn't respect her students time. She cane funny at times and I don't believe she is a bad person, however she is not good at teaching math 202.
A lot of students do not like this professor, but she really isn't that bad. She wants you in class, but to miss there should be a good reason. There is homework every night, but is never too bad. I would recommend studying for her tests though. She grades tediously.
I highly recommend not taking this class with this professor. If you have questions, they won't be answered. The best and only helpful thing about this class is the SI. Lots of homework that was supposed to be graded for completion; it was graded for correctness. Tests were made for you to fail.
This lady is a joke. I have no idea why BSU still lets her continue to teach. Youd think she would teach her lessons correctly right? WRONG. She messed up multiple times each lesson. She gives so much homework and barely grades any of it!! She thinks only her class matters, and will not respect you. All in all, Do not take her! You will regret it.
SO SO SO much work!! Avoid her at all costs! Spoke with many other students taking 202 with a different professor and they were doing way less work. She also is a very strict grader. Nearly impossible to do well in her class. I maintained a 4.0 in my years at BSU but got a C in this class if that tells you anything. Way too much work for a 3 credit
Class content was easy, but Prof. K is the worst. She is scatterbrained, disorganized, disrespectful, and passive-aggressive. Told a student to zoom into class from the ER. Dismissive of disability accommodations. Did not allow ADULT students to take phones to restroom. Spent up to 40/50 min of class going over hw. Little respect for students.
Professor K focuses on the wrong things during class, then assigns homework over something she taught in class for 2 minutes. She grades inconsistently. Her student teacher teachers better than her.
