I took this class online and honestly I think she's the worst professor I've had so far a DVC. Her assignments were so confusing and when you'd ask a question she'd comment to 'just follow the direction'. Also, there was no communication in the class. It would seriously take her a week to respond to an email. Take another class!

She doesn't communicate well with her students at all, never reply emails, just tell you to 'read the guidelines' for everything even when you ask her for more clarity...I don't recommend her.

I took her online. School has been out for 2 weeks and half the stuff is still not graded. She takes at least 2 weeks to respond to your questions & answers with one sentence. Puts assignments up and no direction what so ever on how to make them work. She is HORRIBLE. Take any teacher but this lazy one!

For sure probably the worst teacher I have ever had. Is not clear about what she wants and marks you down for not doing it her way when she doesn't state what "her" way is. Very unhelpful takes forever to get back to you. Would not recommend this class!

She makes it known in the beginning that she's "so busy" with other activities and has something like 400 students. The quality just isn't there with Martucci. She takes forever to grade, isn't responsive, and students end up having to teach themselves all the content. She throws random quizzes our way without so much as a class discussion on the topic. It's a shame that her teaching skills aren't up to par cause she's a sweet person with an upbeat attitude. Just doesn't teach.

Reviews about lack of help and clarity nail it.She puts little effort into her lectures - mostly videos and powerpoint presentations if she isn't sidelined by off-topic discussions or projector issues. Homework graded very very late. Says heavy workload & busy - sets self up for failure and succeeds. She could be a good teacher. Shame she isn't.

DO NOT TAKE HER ONLINE CLASS!! Unorganized,doesn't grade half of your work and takes forever to get back to you (if she ever does. Should not be teaching because she has not taught me much since I was having to try to sort through her instructions and teach myself. Don't do it, warning you!

This is what you get --- unfocused lectures, online quizzes with incorrect answer grading, ungraded assignments so you don't know if you are doing things right or wrong, students surfing the internet or chatting during 'lectures'. If you want to learn something then you are on your own.

Takes 30 minutes after class to get your program checked off, she goes around small talking. Lectures often go off topic and she will address you on choosing a good email password for 20 minutes. Doesn't explain the content very well, I learned almost nothing from class. Cares too much about trivial things like file names instead of actual content.

You do more work for 1 unit than you do for 3 units. Heavy use of the text book. Her grading on assignments is the stupidest system you will ever see. Complains about the work if your missing one little detail. Students: choose a different teacher if you can because this old bag is clearly outdated to be in the computer science field.

This is a comment regarding her online class and lab. I made the mistake of thinking the comments about her were exaggerated but hit the wall with her. She does not reply to emails in a timely manner (I call timely at least within 1 week) and evaluations are not graded consistently. Grades are not timely either. Terrible experience.

The only learning I do takes place at home when I'm reading the textbook. This class is very wishy washy. I have A's in all my other classes, but I have no clue how I'm doing in Martuccis class. She doesnt specify the homework requirements or the quiz dates, leaving her students to figure it out for themselves. this class is burnt, dont take it.

This teacher is a joke. She is unclear on what assignments are due and due dates. If you don't have them ready by some arbitrary date she didn't specify she just insults the students intelligence. She refuses to talk to students outside or in class and talks over you if you try to ask a question. Useless teacher.

Worst teacher ever. A 1-unit class with 50+ assignments. On the day of finals, only 4 assignments have been graded. ALL assignments and lectures come from the book WORD FOR WORD. She is extremely bad at explaining the subject and it is nearly impossible to know what she expects of you. Her lectures are difficult to follow and the tests are nearly impossible. I have As and Bs in my other classes, but I had to drop out of her class at the last second to avoid failing the course. No idea how she's still a teacher.

Always late to put assigntment,even the final she put some of the stuff online very late. I meant an important part for the final she put it couple hours before the due date. i took online class at that time. Avoid !!

I would NOT recommend this professor. She was unresponsive, not very helpful, and overall non-existent for this online class - in class might be different. Other students sent out e-mails wondering if anyone had even heard from her which tells you how often she communicated with us. Thankfully, I got a B+ but it was a struggle.

Honestly the reviews say it all. How she still has her job, I don't know. Straight A chemistry major, afraid of losing my transfer admission because of this elective class. Im 100% sure that ALL positive reviews are written by her.

First of all, this class has TOO much work for it to be one unit. If you have a question about anything, she'll help you in the best way she can. Otherwise, she's just sits at her desk doing who knows what. Make sure you read the book and her instructions clearly.

This teacher is very unorganized and has poor written instructions. The course content on the D2L website is never updated until the week of the assignment so you don't know what to expect. The due dates on the assignments are consistently inaccurate. Expect grades for your assignments to take a while.

First comment on this site. I have a 3.0 gpa. This teacher gave me my very first D. Way too many assignments for a 1 unit class. Her upbeat personality and friendly conversations may have you thinking that she is a reasonable grader, she isn't. Attendance does not count for much in her computer class because I Haven't missed a day. Merry christmas

Hard tests, no study guides. You need to find answers from any source you can which is tricky as some questions you are not prepared for. I have had many college instructors, she was the worst. She is touchy so dont speak up too much as youll make it worse. Check in daily for last minute items, dont rely on the syllabus, and work with a tutor.

DO NOT TAKE 100L WITH MARTUCCI. she assigns 5x more work than any other teacher, an excessive amount for a 1 credit class. online class is poorly organized, dropbox dates all over the place and she doesn't bother updating links between semesters so half of them don't work. very little guidance or instruction on assignments.

Book required to do ALL the work is out of date making some of the "step-by-step" instructions pointless since the options do not exist anymore. 2. She takes on 7+ classes at a time and has no time for you. 3. She is the dean of computer science dep. so no matter what, she's right.

gave me my final grade without grading over half of my assignments. i don't know if she's a huge procrastinator, extremely disorganized or just plain lazy but one thing i do know is that it's a miracle she's still employed. there's a reason this teacher has 70 negative reviews.

I was doing assignments from last semesters class that weren't part of our curriculum, she not only graded them but when I brought it to her attention she made a mistake she put it on me for doing the work. Friendly on the surface but grades harshly, when she does grade. Three quarters way into the semester students had not been given a single grade. By the time you figure out where you are in the class, it's too late to drop. Boring and you won't learn much.

Shes very and kind and approachable. But, she is super picky about assignments and labels and she will bump your grade way down if its not her way. She is EXTREMELY disorganized. Its hard to tell what grade you have in class since she forgets to grade. You will have no clue whats due whats graded and youre just going to be completely lost.

Taking Martucci was a lesson for me to next time do a research before choosing a professor. Please do yourself a favor and don't choose her. Her classes are completely disorganized and you'll feel helpless. She didn't even have a working email throughout the entire semester which explains the type of professor she is.

Genuinely not a teacher in any sense of the word. Has experience in the business but has no ability to teach it. We didn't do over 40% of the syllabus cause she simply couldnt time herself, or prepare her students in any way. Most classes wasted when she had control, the other half of the class you are given lab time which is when things get done.

All I can say is don't take this class. She never did anything on time, every thing was so unorganized. The lectures were terrible and mind numbing. 3/4 of the class are the excessive lectures on a power point then the last 1/4 is when you have time to do all the work she assigns but only grades "if she has time". DON'T TAKE WITH HER!

She has an attitude and never talks about stuff that is actually useful for the class. She assumes everyone is already proficient in word and excel basically. She gives tons of random assignments online and doesn't even mention them in class. She goes on and on about some random motivational speaker guy too.

Honestly, and I don't say this lightly, she is the worst professor at DVC. She's nice enough, but she's bitter, condescending, and VERY unorganized. She literally does not recall whether an entire class has given a presentation or not. She talks poorly about the other faculty members, and I swear to you, she CAN'T teach. Take with someone else.

Extremely inconsistent but the class is pretty easy. The instructions for most of the assignments were not written by her and contradict her grading rubric. She is lazy with grading and will often omit assignments that you've already completed. Class moves so slow you never get to most of the topics but get ready to do MS office assignments.

It's hilarious how bad she is. Ended on section 2 of FIVE planned. Just assigned 500+ test questions on the class 5 days before finals... on sections she never taught! She grades on attendance, at least I think, since shes so far behind on grading that stuff from Sept still isn't done. She DOES NOT teach during class, all assigns from PDFs from 06.

If you're new with computers, you will fail. She made up random assignments every day. Didn't stick to the syllabus coursework. There is an outdated textbook PDF she failed to mention but wants you to use. You are required to sit in class. She gets sidetracked helping 2 struggling but loud students who still were behind. She is awful.

She is probably the worst professor I have had. She doesn't have a clear grading system. Everything is so unorganized and she doesn't grade in time. You have a project that is worth 35% of your grade. She requires that you buy a textbook that is never gone over in class.

As of 2022 she is 72 years old and forgets that she has already told stories and will repeatedly tell the same ones over and over again.

She clearly has no idea what she is doing with the class, she doesn't use any of her own material, which leads to her reading off slides for 75% of the class then rambling about whatever for the other 25% of the time. She never goes over the homework that is just silently assigned and if you do the homework you won't get it graded for weeks or more

Very unclear about her grading requirements. Most of her "lectures" are filled with unrelated personal stories that add nothing to your understanding and only waste time. Will dock you for very simple things such as file names.

I am amazed that she is allowed to teach. on our final assignment, I asked her to come review my final assignment and she walks over doesn't look at it and says to me "Ill look at it" and walks away. She has absolutely no idea what she is doing. I had a 210% at the end of the semester. She should never be trusted to teach. Every class she would talk about how she lived on an island and other nonsensical tangents instead of focusing on the material. She introduced visual basic out of nowhere, without teaching anything about the language.
