Cheryl rocks. She is a tough instructor but her tests reflect her lectures. What I've learned from her has helped me so much with the nursing program. She is the best instructor at MCTC! She does what she says she will do and she is willing to help anyone who whats it. If you want to really learn, take Cheryl.
Great teacher. Is not on a power trip. Just wants to help you learn. Was very clear about what would be expected on tests, projects.
I thought her exams were very difficult and I am a straight A student. I struggled to get an A- more so than other biology classes (A&P). This class should be 4 credits, not 2.
I love this teacher. She always uses great examples and is always willing to help her students. Great choice for physiology and related studies.
Tests are crazy hard. Study for her tests from the class notes and do the questions on the note sheets. I enjoyed what I learned. I also believe this class should be 4 credits not 2. The material was interesting and clearly laid out. If you take an active part/role you will do just fine. Passing is easy if you study from her notes - hint!
Cheryl is tough and she is very much in it for her own satisfction. She is very disorganized and it is never clear what is going to be on the exams. She jumps around a lot over the semester and is always trying new learning exdperiments on us that usually are more confusing than helpul. Notes are quite vague Overall class was extremely stressful.
EXCELLENT, HELPFUL
She is a very nice instructor but assigns a lot of unnecessary, unchallenging busy work. Her lab focuses more attention on how to write a lab report than learning about the human body. For a college level course, I expected something a little more intellectually stimulating.
The worest teacher ever. please try to avoid her class.
EXCELLENT instructor, a true gem. Her class room lectures are made fun and interesting which results in more learning. EVERY instructor should take a page from her play book. She is available and interested in student success. That doesnt mean her class is easy. It's a complex subject but she does a GREAT job in explaining it. GO Pro Neudauer!
Online - Great class and excellent instructor. If you keep up on reading all material and do study questions you should do fine. If you need help just ask Prof. Neudauer, she really is good and knows her subject.
Worst teacher I ever experiences, although I may like her teaching but she jump around the chapters too much, she doesn't followed her syllabus beware on the point systems it may be less then what it seems, she doesn't have compassion toward students, VERY VERY hard teacher, exams and quiz isn't like what she teach or in text book.
Great teacher. Wants to help you learn. Makes learning easier and more fun. Clear expectations. Great enthusiasm about subject!
She is a very restrict person, but very organized. She will give detailed instruction for all the work, make sure you follow, because it is her way or the highway! she is not easy to talk to, but very helpful if you go to her office time.
Tests are easy and as long as you do all the work, pretty easy class overall. Didn't like her in the beginning, but actually she is very helpful and is willing to go the extra mile for her students. Some activites in class were a little "junior highish" but overall good class and I learned alot with the class discussions.

This class was very interesting and challenging. Make sure to read the syllabus thoroughly! Also, read the chapters, notes and answer homework questions prior to exams.
She is totally disorganized, unfair, and her tests are extremely hard. She will make you do a lot of unnecessary and childish stuff in the class which i think is total waste of time. But the thing that got or annoyed me the most was she treat the whole class like crap by getting all red and yelling at the class if something doesn't go her way.
Straight forward with notes, outlines in class and expectations of students. Easiest science class I have taken yet due to her outline of notes and clarity of subject with useful and direct examples to clarify information. A lot of busy, easy assignments that I didn't like but that assisted in overall subject clarity.
She tells you what you have to know for the exams...focus your studying on lecture, not the text. Be prepared, but "prep sheets" she hands out cover way more than she does in class. My suggestion is, read the chapter and understand the main points before coming to class but don't spend hours doing the prep sheets. Oh, and lots of busy work!
She is a good teacher, however she gives out alot of work that is at times unnecessary. This is all part of her active learning approach. You will learn something in this class.
Cheryl is someone who you can't not see eye to eye no matter what..she is encourageable and if you go to her for help she makes you feel like you are dumb. She need to hang up the teaching thing and go back into the lab where she would be more fit because her social skills are lacking big time. Do not take her for Physiology!
Worst teacher. Very jumpy and can't stay on task. ADHD style. Avoid if possible, but her monopoly on physiology lecture couldn't be avoided.
Cheryl is a nice teacher, but her class has a ton of busy work, her notes suck. Her tests are hard and if you take nutrition watch out for the My Diet Analysis!
Just average
Cheryl was a very nice teacher. I enjoyed taking her class. She is very picky about the instructions she gives you. If she says to write a one-page paper then write exactly one page, no more or no less. Overall, just go to all classes and you will learn alot and get a good grade.
i took her physiology class and it was fun but exams are tricky but at the end of the she was best teacher i have seen, she is very happy, outgoing and non-racial teacher if you want easy grade then she is not for u but if you want to learn she is the best choice
I took the online course and thought that it was okay. It was her first go on the online section so it was up and down with some things. Overall, I learned a great deal and did well in the course so no big complaints here.
Cheryl is not that good of a professor. I took her on-line physiology so that might be why. Her notes suck! She doesn't give you any help - it's all up to you to understand the material. The quizes and tests were nearly impossible. Avoid her!
I had 4.0 until I took her class. She's completely disorganized & lacks any communication skills. She has very specific expecations that she doesnt make known until after shes already graded you. Her tests are insane. Time that could have been spent studying was wasted trying to figure out what assignments were due, what her questions mean, etc
Bad teacher. Sometimes she penalizes you for doing more than what she asked (a 4 page paper spilling 1 or 2 sentnces over onto a 5th page), other times she gives you a C for following her instructions (expecting you to do more to get an A). She tests on material she doesnt cover in class. Her lab had less to do with physiology than lab techniques.
Cheryl is a great teacher. Her notes are very clear. If you answer all the questions in the notes every week, you will do great. No comp. final either! If your not organized, don't take this class. I took the hybrid class which meets once a week, rest is on-line. A book is not needed.
I took Physiology and Nutrition from Cheryl in 2007 and to this day can tell you about the material. I'm in nursing school now and am thankful that I have such a solid foundation in these topics as opposed to some of my classmates who are struggling to relearn things I remember from Cheryl's class. She's tough but she's worth it.
Teacher was nice but not responsive to feedback, had way too much work for course credits and gave little feedback. Gave little direction for assignments and marked down points for petty issues.
WORST. TEACHER.EVER. super disorganized and all of her tests are made to trick you. She will put a correct answer down and literally change one word to catch you up. I cannot stand when professors try to trick you but that is all she does. She puts way too much into the class and lab to have it worth 3 credits.
Worst class I have ever taken. No text, a cliff notes version is given online. Very, very unclear on material and what she expects for the exams assignments..
Took Physiology online over the summer. The only in-person part was the lab, which was almost 100 group projects. We created our own experiments, and it was very engaging. I did get lucky and had a great group, but she structured everything to make the group projects as smooth as possible. I learned a ton and her notes are worth keeping.
No textbook, just a lot of disjointed links to articles and videos. Slow to grade and very harsh with grading penalties (I was deducted 25% from an assignment for accidentally skipping 1 of 11 questions). Quizzes have had errors in them. She is a nice person however, and seems to try to help, although not very successful in doing so.
I took her 2 cr. pathophys. class and she expects 1000 word discussion posts every week, the tests are ridiculous (you have to memorize her notes which she calls a textbook) and she grades you on grammar and citations more than she does biology. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. For only 2 credits she makes you work way too hard and doesnt reward you for it.
Text book is optional? Ditch the stupid objectives that make no sense and use the book, at least the book is clear! Her tests are impossible, class average is in the toilet. Unfortunately very few schools teach anatomy and physiology separately so I didn't have much of a choice but to take her class. I'd certainly avoid her otherwise!
I think Cheryl is a great professor. I was very nervous for physiology but she has made it fun! Yes, her tests are tough. She doesn't require a textbook but I think her notes are great and her analogies are super helpful to me. You just need to be willing to put time and effort into the class. Simply reading the material isn't enough.
Want to take a class, learn nothing, and leave more confused and lost than you came? Take physiology with Cheryl. Can't understand for the world why she got a teaching award, she's AWFUL at it. Had no problems understanding the reading but her test questions are bizarre and have little to do with the reading. Some BS about 'deeper learning'. AVOID.
I'm disappointed my first rate didn't go through. Her tests are tough. There's no textbook so you only have to read her notes - WHICH ARE NOT ENOUGH. Expect to Google a lot. Learn how to read "in between the lines" for her q's on her exams. I did not like her course. Sadly, I'd agree for others to avoid her if possible, no matter how nice she is.
She thinks color/shape coordinating her notes should be enough to learn everything you need to know for this course. It is not. Her attempt to "make you think" does not help you on the quizzes. She is not a teacher; just a woman who likes shapes and colors and kindergarten activities that don't help her COLLEGE students succeed on her tests.
This teacher does not require a book & her notes r super confusing. Sad 2 admit but I'm talking this class as a prerequisite for the nursing program & this class is harder that my nursing class. Which is ridiculous!!! She not helpful, won't even tell u the right answers on tests. Grades our assignments like we're in an English class. Avoid!!!
She is the BEST!!! She is an amazing teacher. As long as you read the notes and do the work that goes along with taking a class you will LOVE IT!!
I LOVED my classes with Professor Neudauer. She doesn't use a book - but the notes she teaches off of are great! (Make sure you read them!!) This class promotes critical thinking in her assignments and tests and really engages you in interesting ways. I would love to have had her for more classes. I learned a lot from both Patho and Physiology.
I don't know why she says her notes are enough and that you do not need to read the book. It is not enough!!!
Her quizzes are very hard and even if you read her notes thoroughly and answer the practice questions, you could get a D for not "properly comprehending" the material. I wish she would include more concrete facts and information in her notes that apply to her tests instead of forcing her students to look up other colleges' powerpoints and diagrams.
Don't take her, just don't do it. She says all you need to know is in HER notes SHE writes and yet, the quizzes SHE writes are questions about things the notes just DO NOT have in them. Trust me, I Ctrl-C the notes to search for words, and with some questions, nothing comes up. Do not take unless willing to spend 5+ hrs a day for a 4 credit class.
She seems to really know how to teach students that are struggling. Yes, the tests are hard, but if you are answering the study questions in each unit, you will do fine. Highly recommend her! Fantastic attitude.
Okay people. Physiology is supposed to be hard. If you think it's going to be a piece of cake, think again. Reviews with 5 difficulty and 1 overall are simply wrong. If you put the time in you are SUPPOSED TO, it will be fine. Half way though the semester with a 98%. If you study like she tells you to, you will learn A LOT. I'd take again
I had Cheryl for Phys and Pathophys. She works entirely off of notes that she provides for you, no book needed. Expect about 20 pgs/wk of in depth. It is open notes, but she does purposefully re-word so that you can't just Ctl+F. She is encouraging and kind, but Physiology is a difficult subject. Don't expect it to be easy., no matter the teacher.
I hate the outlines and the tests ! You read and it seems you never get enough information off the notes she gives you!
Last teacher I would take for Phys again. She doesn't require a book, and says her "unit notes" are enough to pass her tests, which couldn't be more untrue. I googled my way through the class because there were so many grammar errors and missing words in her notes, they didn't even make sense, and get ready to be confused by every test question!
Overall, I think Cheryl is a great instructor. I don't love her notes, they could be made easier to read, but I still prefer them over the optional textbook, which I hated. Her tests can be either really easy or tricky, and sometimes don't make sense, so be careful and definitely take her advice on study methods. Also FORM A STUDY GROUP! Good luck!
Cheryl is a GREAT teacher, her classes are very challenging but if you apply good study techniques and prepare you will do well. Take her class IN class and not online you will do a lot better in her class that way. I had her for both Physiology and Pathophysiology and I thought she really knew her stuff.
Took multiple classes with her. Very dedicated to teaching. Sincerely interested in student success. Very approachable. Of course, expect to work. Knowledge doesn't come free. No assigned textbook! She hands out specific notes and tests from them.
Best instructor ever! Very caring, wants her students to succeed. Responds to email pretty quick. Read all print out notes and answers all questions in the note and you will definitely pass the class. Exams questions are not written to trick you. The class is also design for busy students that just want to attend class online as optional.
Class format is similar to Physiology if you took that at MCTC. No book, just objectives & resources on D2L to study. Cheryl made the objectives which are basically textbook summaries,15-20 pages/week. She grades tough on the online posts & the topics are rather dry, so I would have preferred taking hybrid and going to lecture for easy pts.
Cheryl's specified notes are really an acquired taste, but you save money with no textbook! She loves when you ask questions and is always around to try to re-explain something to you to help you learn. Her class is an in person lecture, but she takes into account that people cannot always be there and gives equivalents. Take exam online - its easy
Here notes are scattered and not enough to learn the material without supplemental help, though she says they are enough. I switched the online version for the in class lecture version thinking it would help, but she gives very little guidance. She tells you what you got wrong, but doesn't give you the correct answer to learn from mistakes.
Cheryl's notes are interesting... I can see why they'd be great for some, but they left me frustrated as often as they clarified. Her weekly tests often had confusingly worded questions, typos, or weren't related to her notes at all, but wanted you to make some sort of leap. This class is still manageable though, especially if you are very patient.
Cheryl is a good person, I like her as a human being. However, her class is really hard. Her notes and lecture are not enough for the exams, be prepared to read extra materials on your own. The tests can be confusing sometimes.
I LOVED this instructor. Cheryl offered the material in a number of ways to reach multiple learning styles. She streamlined difficult concepts for us and made them applicable and relevant. Course was super well organized on D2L with no time wasted searching around for assignments, due dates, or materials. I was sad when the semester ended!
Dr. Neudauer is amazingly dedicated to her work and her students. She doesn't give the traditional lecture which I was unsure about at first, but give her style a chance and I'm sure you'll love it as much as I did. I feel like I really understood the material and look forward to having her again in the future!
This class is honestly such a mess. No book. She focuses soooooooooo much energy on "higher level learning". But turns out you cant jump to the top unless you start at the bottom. If I cant UNDERSTAND it. There is no way that I can APPLY and ANALYZE it. I wish I could go back and read this website first. Also the entire class is just "Her notes"
I think Cheryl is really nice as a person, but just like the person above me said, you cannot expect students to analyze or apply knowledge to a subject thoroughly unless you understand the material itself. Also, you cannot expect students to change their way of thinking/studying overnight or just for your class. i wish she understood this.
I personally like Cheryl, shes a lovely professor and wants everyone to pass but she believes in a very strict way of learning that doesnt work well with certain people. I saw a lot of people struggle, smart people. Difficult weekly exams, 20 questions and very hard to understand her style of questioning. You will have to read the notes entirely
Many assignments, but allows you to pick which ones that you want to do as she drops many. Does not like to fail her students and is there to help you ,when needed. Will give partial/full points on incorrect answers on her tests, if you are able to argue your point. If you put in the time and ask the right questions, you will pass!!! She's great!!
You can tell she's very experienced in teaching. She give great advise and give tips on how to study/learn better, so listen to her. Provides her own material, and everything in the materials are clear, smooth, and connects. I don't even need to watch videos to help. Plus no text book! Save money. One of the best-taught class that I had ever taken!
She is by far my favorite professor. I've never met a professor that cares so much about their students ACTUALLY grasping the concept & applying it. Her unit objectives are incredibly thought-out & organized: you can understand the context completely & do not waste your time reading pointless material in a text book. She is exceptional professor.
BEST teacher for busy learners. You will learn HOW to learn in her class. No need for a textbook. She condenses all notes for you to a few sheets. You learn a ton while reading a little. Ppl who are stuck in memorize and apply mode won't do well. Here, you learn to predict. Do her activities and adjust your study style and you will easily get an A.
First of all the class is based on her notes. Mind you those notes have tons of grammatical errors, and a lot of stuff is left out. She tells you that the exam is based on her notes, but that is the biggest lie. The notes do not correlate with the exam whatsoever, and the exams are worded in such a way where they make absolutely no sense.
She's a nice person, but with that being said this was the worst class I've ever taken. She writes her own notes, and no matter how hard you study you will still not do well on the exams. She doesn't test you on your understanding of the materials she makes you make predictions on stuff outside material. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS CLASS
A Pitiful professor. She does not assign or teach from any textbook but instead writes her own notes about Physiology that make NO sense and leave out key information. Expect to learn nothing, do poorly on the tests, and spend most of your time writing posts assigned at a 5th grade level. I am shocked she educates students entering healthcare.
Dr. Neudauer was a decent professor. She taught lecture for my physiology course. There was no textbook, only her notes that could use some improvement. There was no final exam, only cumulative exams at the end of each chapter which were due weekly. Each week also had a discussion section which was an easy 5 points. Hope this helped:)
she doesnt teach from the textbook and comes up with notes by herself which makes no sense. She is very test heavy. The test/quizzes are very hard expect to do bad on them. She also grades you on your disccussion posts really weird also. She would rather teach you how to learn than actually teach you physiology
She expects you to already know all the stuff. She cares more about you learning to study than actually teaching the class. She writes the test and notes off of her own knowledge So a lot of the info is not correct
worst class i have ever taken. Instead of actually learning anything, she makes us do discussions about how to study???? also, all her tests make zero sense and her grammar sucks. i would not recommend this course to my worst enemy with this teacher. she does not teach you anything, she expects us to already know everything.
She expects you to already know everything she teaches, she cares more about teaching you how to learn than actually teaching you the class. She writes her whole test off of her own head so none of the stuff makes sense
First of all, this professor does not have lectures which is the hardest part of this class. she writes her own notes which are even hard to understand. you will be confused for the entire semester. her exam is hard so expect them to do them badly. Please find another professor.
She expects you to know everything without a lecture. She writes her own notes in which key information is left out. Her exam is mostly analyzing and predicting. how can you analyze and predict information that you didn't understand? please don't waste your time and money in this class. Take it from an other school.
She seems sweet and cares about the students but I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS CLASS TO ANYONE. just do it at a different school if you have to. The tests are impossible, have typos in it, and they are all on NOTES THAT SHE MADE. I feel like its a rip off and I have just learned how to pass her class. There's no way people are not cheating in this.
I am convinced that any good rating on this teacher is the professor making the reviews
I debated to withdraw from her Physiology on numerous occasions but rode it to the finish line. She doesn't seem too bad of a person once you chat with her. There are weekly exams one every chapter, weekly quizzes, and discussions, and group projects on which you sometimes feel like you have to baby sit your teammates and keep following up with.
Fascinating class! You'll become a better student/learner after taking Cheryl's class. Take the time to answer the objective questions. They feel monotonous, but you'll catch on to her method, and concepts will more easily come to you. Try her study methods - you won't regret it. Cheryl also has a great sense of humor.
This is the worst professor ever. Please save your money and avoid!!! She creates her own notes which are contradictory to her exam questions. Her expectations are insane especially for a 6 week summer class.
I was really not looking forward to taking her patho class bc of physiology. Her physiology was so much worse, don't worry about patho the test questions are more easy. Still the same lay out (which I don't like) as physio but less work= less stress.
Emailed her once, sounded mad to help lol: blunt vibes. No textbooks, just readings: can be long & VERY confusing. All exams are NOT basic knowledge, PREDICT like your life is on the line. If U were already struggling in anatomy, this course will finish you off. 1 practice test, 1 discussion, a few readings, and 1 exam per week.
This teacher is great at making everything clear. She drops a few of your lowest assignments and exams at the end of the semester. She makes her own notes and provides activities which I find very helpful. She is always helping you become better. Utilize tutors and go to her office hours and you will do great.
BIOL1226 Assigns a lot of work but makes the grading requirements clear. If you do all the work, you'll get a good grade. Multiple readings, & an assignment or discussion post due each week, plus a weekly quiz. Quick to respond to discussion post questions.
Cheryl is great. I've taken her classes for multiple semesters in a row and I would do it again. Before you complain about it being confusing, read all of the intro docs in Materials> Content. She explains everything well and makes it easy to understand. If you need help on a specific topic or think you need to have something re-graded, inform her.
This class was awful!!! I had this professor for physiology. Professor never emailed me back with answers to my questions. Tests seemed impossible and didn't line up with any of the notes I was reading. It seemed like she was using the same notes and test with typos from years prior. If you thought anatomy was bad. Just wait! I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!
This class SUCKS. She is overly wordy with EVERYTHING. She doesn't provide any actual textbooks to read. You only get to go off what SHE wants you to read in her own writing that is an onslaught of difficult information. Nothing about this class is easy I wish I would have picked a different teacher.
Professor Neudauer's class is quite challenging, but engaging if you commit to her unconventional teaching methods. While the workload is heavy, using Unstuckstudy alongside the free textbook can really help solidify the concepts.
I was nervous to register at 1st based on what I read here, but she's genuinely nice, ridiculously helpful, and super organized. Everything you need is provided, and she's always available for questions. I put in the work, got an A, and don't expect grades handed out like free samples at Costco. If you put in the effort, she makes sure you succeed.
1. Lots of reading. All materials are all well organized and very helpful. 2. Timed open-book quiz/exams every week. Not difficult if you have finished the required reading. 3. Not much extra credits. Take every exam seriously. 4. Teacher is great! patient and helpful. I love her teaching style, making difficult concepts easy to understand.
This was honestly one of the hardest classes I've taken and was crazy time consuming, that being said, she was a great teacher. The expectations and coursework are clearly outlined and she emphasizes higher level study methods to help with long term learning. All resources needed are provided by her in d2l - no textbook
