Great teacher! Some students struggled, but with regular attendance I felt it wasn't too hard at all. Very helpful and lets you drop a test. Tests are straight forward and she tells you what to expect. Also gives worksheets for points so go to class!
She was extremely good at teaching what you need to know. She gives review before each test, and the questions on the test are basically exactly what you review. Great teacher.
She's a great teacher! She trys her best to assist you with understanding the work. She's a fun teacher. She actually listens to the students and asks us what we think about things. She's available during office hours to help you.She gives lots of worksheets and pratically tells you what problems will be on the test(re-worded)of course. She's Great!
I love math. Given I'm not that good at it but I like it and like to learn it. This lady was so jumbled.. shes always in a rush and doesnt like to wait around for you. There is a lot of group work which is cool but you don't learn anything from it. she wants you to hurry and copy work of your group members.
She's a really nice lady. All the assignments/homework are optional. It's way easier than i expected. The only thing you really have to turn in are tests/quizzes. And you only have like five major tests the whole semester. And then the final. She explains things well and always lets you ask questions if you don't understand something. She's awesome

Dude she's like THE best teacher EVER!!!!!!!! ... i had her for mat1033 AND mac1105!!!! she's great!.. she's really helpful and goes over EVERTYHING so if you hate math or if you're not good at it, she's the teacher to have! her tests come from the worksheets( gives a lot of worsheets, great practice).. A+++++
She was an awesome teacher. I am TERRIBLE in math, and I'll get getting an A in the class. She drops 3 of her 8 quizzes and one of her tests. She is very thorough in her teaching, especially in the beginning, but begins to get annoyed easily when people ask too many questions. Always shows you how to solve with the calculator, pretty much required.
She's one of the best math teachers i've ever had! She knows how to make things clear. Quizzes are easy if you study and so are the tests. You need to take lots of notes and study alot of you want to make an A though! highly recommend
Mrs. Preisinger is one of the best math teachers I've ever had. She's very thorough with lessons and is quick to answer any questions. The worksheets she supplies are extremely helpful and well worth doing to prepare for the tests. She makes math very understandable and I can't say how much I appreciate that. Taking her next semester too! :)
I am poor at Algebra but she was a great teacher. She is very good at the subject while also good at teaching it to slows like me as well. Incredibly fast and neat chalkboard writer. Would have taken her again if she fit into my schedule. Drops three lowest quizzes and lowest exam. I recommended her to my son. Hey, I got a B, a minor miracle.
Great teacher she is very caring. Teaches you how to use the calculator unlike most Professors. You have to study to pass. She does a great job explaining everything & will do more if you ask & will help during office hours. Take her study & you will pass. I have been out of school for 18 years & I will make a B. Quiz 7 test are stright forward.
Great teacher. Make sure you do the homework and study and you will pass no problem. Quizes and test and test are stright forward no surprises. will answer all questions and will help you during office hours but make appt. She will teach you how to use the calculator so that you don't have to do alot of extra unnessary work.
Mrs. Preisinger is great. She pretty much tells you what to expect on the test. Make sure you do your homework cause it adds up to a test grade.
Very easy class. She does a great job explaining things. I am terrible at math, and ended up with an A. Drops some quizzes and a test at the end.
She's an good teacher! just do your work and stay focused and you should be fine! she drops a few quizzes and a test so you should do just fine...
THE best math professor i've ever had which is hard to come across. Made understanding the material very easy. Doing the homework she assigns from the textbook will help alot. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
she is very clear, helpful and patiente
Decent teacher, dont really recommend her. She moves really fast when lecturing. Wasnt a huge fan. She does a horrible job when reviewing for exams, just pretty much stands and asks if we have any questions.
This lady is all over the place. She moves fast and doesn't really care to slow down. You do a lot of group work so she doesnt have to teach that much. I'd always end up having to ask my partners to explain it to me. Whenever I asked her a question she tried to get through it fast and I didn't understand. Always rushed so she could get her kids.
If you aren't a math person, DON'T TAKE HER. She goes REALLY fast and doesn't like answering questions. LOADS of group work during class that counts for homework so you need to go to class. Doesn't review well for exams AT ALL. Would't recommend her.
I love Ms. Preisinger! She is absolutely amazing. I have never liked math much because I struggled in the past, but once I took her class I became confident and she made me love math so much! She's very wonderful and I love how she teaches!
Mrs. P is a great teacher. She does move fast ,but it's a good pace. She always reviews before exams and the reviews are the exams. Very easy. Lot's of group work!!! 3 exams overeall.
This lady really doesn't care if you learn what she is teaching or not she moves really fast and all the group work cut out what she should be teaching, but lets the group figure out among yourselfs and doesn't reall answer the question when you ask it! Don't take her if yur not good with math!
AWESOME TEACHER!! She does explain things clearly and if you have a question she will answer them. She does do a lot of group work but it helps out a lot because if you still dont understand it your group can explain. She assigns bookwork but only for practice she doesn't collect it. Overall she is an amazing teacher but fast pace.
Ms. Preisinger is awesome! She might move a little fast but she gives you every chance to ask questions and if you can't get it in the class, she is very helpful in the lab! She's so understanding when it comes life outside of math getting in the way of math. I had not been in school for 10 years and I couldn't have passed this class without her!
Excellent teacher!! Mrs P is super nice and super helpful! The work sheets were so helpful I would always redo them prior to testing and I always passed!!! I am not that good at math but Mrs. P made it very easy for me to learn the material! Math teachers at Santa Fe could learn a thing or two from Mrs P!!!
Do not take unless you like going through 4 weeks of material in 2 minutes. Impossible to take notes. Very rude if you don't understand, and unwilling to stay and help. Worst professor I've had. All these "good" comments are imposters. Miss P is a horrible teacher. I am excellent in math, but she made this class extremely hard.
: - ( not helpful
O.K. teacher. I can't say anything bad about her, she was pretty average. She wasn't helpful, but then again she wasn't bad either. I'd recommend taking her if you're already pretty good at math, because that's how she teaches, like you already know the material
not as bad as every1 says she is. i suck at math nd im doing fine in her class. just gotta stay on top of hw and quizes and do good on tests nd you'll be fine. she doesn't teach all that well just like every professor at sfc. shes rele helpful tho if u got a question on a test she'll tell u if ur right or wrong unlike most professors they wnt help
Love her!! I was intimidated by the thought of college algebra, but she made it very clear. Has a review before every test so you know what's on it. Spent two classes on final review. Definitely recommend taking her. Wants her students to pass. Wanted to take her for stats, but it's the only class she doesn't teach:(
These review are very accurate.Take only if your Good at Math,However,Mrs.Preisinger helped me out a lot toward the end of the term.Ok teacher but take her on if you're really good at math...
She is really one of the BEST math teacher's at SFC! I took her for a 6-week summer course she's very helpful. All you have to do is study the worksheets that she gives you & come to class. Whatever is on the worksheets is what's on her test...piece of cake!
She's a great math teacher! Her class is really easy, if you go to class (even though you really dont have to because she doesnt really care), DO HER WORKSHEETS! they're a big help when it comes to tests. The book is kind of confusing but i guess it can be helpful too. 3 tests, 1 final & the quizzes are on mymathlab, overall pretty good teacher
definitely a class you cant miss a day and stay with the group, feel like i can learn what she teaches us from a book just as well, all she really gives is notes with a bunch of examples
Her class was very smooth and relatively easy, as long as you show up for class and do your homework you are almost guaranteed an A. She is sweet and makes jokes to try to keep the math interesting.
This was a pretty easy class. She was a good teacher and the tests were exactly what she taught in class. You could do the homework until you got 100% and take the quizzes 3 times. No way you couldn't pass her class unless you just didn't study or try. You should definitely attend class also.
Best math professor at Santa Fe. She is funny, fair, and helpful. She gives wonderful notes, exam reviews, lots of extra credit, and even a final exam review. Love her accent! Must come to class/really try in order to pass and make a high grade (A). Although homework is not mandatory..do it! She gives lots of group assignments in class for points.
Best Math teacher i've had at Sante Fe. She is fair, very helpful, and likes to have fun in class. She is very laid back, she never got angry all semester. Gives extra credit and prepares you for all tests and final. Go to class and do HW and you will do fine!! I would definitely recommend her!
Mrs. P is a a very fair teacher she will give you her full attention whenever you need help. Her class is mandatory but if you have someone in class that can sign you in you can get away with not going to the lecture. Make sure you attend the lab tho or you might as well just drop the class because you wont pass.
Very fair professor. Prior to entering the class I had no interest in math and it was my weakest subject, but after her class I can now say i'm confident in algebra. I would recommend taking her class. She is understanding and if you have any conflicts she'll most likely excuse it and offer you an alternate solution.
Overall, a good teacher. I found her personality to be a bit abrasive and was shy to ask questions when I did not understand. Other people in the class didn't seem to mind tho and said it was just her New Yorker personality shining through. All in all, she's a good teacher and if you go to class and do the homework, you'll do just fine.
I loved this teacher! She's down to earth and fair. She explains everything thoroughly. I would highly recommend her to my friends.
Great teacher highly recommend ! you have to go to the lab but that is required with any MAT1033 class. ! very helpful and as long as you ask questions and get help , you will pass ! im going to take her for MAC1105
I don't recommend unless you believe in group work, which wont help you if nobody in the class understands the material. I got a good great because I went to tutoring everyday. A lot of people dropped or failed the class. If you have no choice but to take her, do well on the in class worksheets. She's a good MAT1033 teacher but MAC1105. Stay Away!!
Group work. Hope you like it. All or her tests are based off of her worksheets, which may be done individually or in groups. She also assigns bookwork for homework, and some mymathlab homework and quizzes. Also, she loves the graphing calc.
I failed Trig the first time I took it with someone else, but then I took it with Preisinger and got an A. No lie. She's very fair because her quizzes and tests are the hw problems. There are no surprises. You just have to put in the effort.
No not take her! I can not stress this enough! I could not get her to help me at all. Got a d+ and had to retake it..... All she wants to do is pawn you off on the studio students to help you and they give you many different ways to solve problems which is even more confusing. When I retook it with someone else I got a b+. I can not recommend her.
She is very confusing, doesn't explain material very well. Tests are 75% of your final grade. She LOVES group work and assigning book work. Horribly unclear, do not take this class unless you have no choice in the matter. If you don't do well on the tests, you will most likely fail. She doesn't provide ANY extra credit or help if you're confused.
Hands down, Preisinger was the worst math teacher I ever had! I attended her class EVERYDAY. Did not understand her methods of solving. She taught too fast. I could not ask about a previous problem because she was already so far ahead and still would not help even if I asked. She grades mostly on tests but HARDLY on HW and quizzes I completed...
She does teach a lot of material, but you need to do her assigned book work. It's not for a grade, but practice. She's there on sundays, and always helps. If you don't get a good grade in her class, its because your a slacker. I wont want you working for me when you graduate, and thats for sure. To many people trying to skate by. GREAT TEACHER!!!
I'm rather bad at math, but with Ms. P's help and MyMathLab I did really well in this class and I feel like I've actually LEARNED something this semester! I didn't love the required lab time but it honestly helped in the end. No surprises in this class and Ms. P is easy to talk to!
While attendance isn't mandatory, you really want to go to all her classes. College Algebra covers a lot of material, so you must do the work. Don't wait till a day till the test and then cram. Not gonna cut the mustard. Take Her. She's has much experience in teaching. your missing out on your college experience if you opt not to take her class.
Wanna have a teacher who care about you doing well? Take Professor Preisinger! Knows her stuff, and breaks it down for ya. If you don't ask questions, then she won't know how to help. She saved the day in our class as the beginning teacher was nice, but not ready to teach. Oh class survived thanks to Prof. P. taking over. Take Her. You wont regret
Do her worksheets. They're great for studying and prepping for the tests; also, do the work she puts on the board for the book. If you think you got it, then it's not mandatory, but it's excellent practice. Tests are easy if you pay attention. I got an A in her class because I went everyday. Do the same, and listen to her advice. GREAT Teacher!
How can a teacher get any better? Literally, if you look at how many people have rated her. You'll find that A. most don't waist time unless they're a bad teacher, or B. they were so good that you felt the need to complement. I wish she was teaching all my future required math classes. Santa Fe need more teacher like her that actually care.
You don't have to attend all of her classes; however, if you wanna do well in math and actually learn. Show up. Practice the material she assigns. We had study groups that worked out wonderfully. I'm really going to miss Professor P's Class!
Great Teacher who cares. Take her if she's got a spot. Good luck with that though.
She's an absolute Great Teacher. I'm lucky she taught me. I suck at math but got a B just by trying, and doing what she said. Awesome!
I don't think there is a better teacher to take. Although, I did take Professor/Attorney Arnold for 1033. That's a tuff one to top, but Professor P. She's a great teacher, and you know that she cares about all of her students. There's no reason at all to do poorly in her class. Use her advice, and you're certain to do well. I'll miss her class.
The book is only needed for My Math Lab, but her assigned work is really worth doing. I did most of it, but then again. I'm a pretty good student, so I follow instructions. Hard to find a teacher who's as good as she is. She's one of the most experienced teachers at Santa Fe. Loves her dogs. Great person. Great Teacher!
Really glad that I took her class. My future college experience is guaranteed to be better thanks to Professor P's teaching. She does an outstanding job laying everything out. She does write 100mph on the notes, but there's lot's of chalkboard, and she always asks if you got everything. Definitely has a lot of experience. Don't miss out on her.
I never did her bookwork, but I'm pretty good at math and paid attention to her lectures. Very Good Teacher. Hope the rest of my Professors are up to her standards. Good honest people who care about what they do, are hard to come by.
Professor P. is Daaaaaaaaaaaa BOMB!
I got a B, but I'm pretty good at math and didn't do her worksheets. Kinda regret it though. Could've gotten an A if I'd done the work. Probably my favorite math teacher since being in college. It's a toss up between Professor P. and Professor Arnold. What a great Math department we've got here at Santa Fe College. Top Ten in the Nation!
Thank God for Great Teachers. Professor Preisinger should be up for some sort of Award. She's an outstanding teacher and very VERY good at her job. She makes it easy for those who apply themselves.
Loves her students and really wants to see all of them succeed. Great lesson learned from taking her. Follow your instructions and you'll do really well. Wish I could take her for all my Math classes.
Can't we have more teachers like Professor Preisinger. Loved the Class!
I didn't buy the book. I barrowed it. LoL! Sign up for her class if you can get a spot. But don't delay. This is one of the best teachers for College Algebra!
Was expecting this College Algebra stuff to be way harder than it was. More than likely the teacher had a great deal to do with it. Very good class. Met several new friends. Got involved in study groups, and as the others said had a great teach while doing so. Really good teacher.
If I ever run a Math department, and she's still teaching. Hired!!!!!! Loved the class, and couldn't ask for a better experience! Professor Preisinger is an amazing professor of college math. I had trouble understanding Range and Domain even after 1033, but she broke it down. Never forget that. She was even there on Sundays. Just a good Pro
You don't have to come to all of her classes to do well. Do good on the tests, which will be the result of doing your work, and you'll do great in the class. The tests are very easy if you do your work. She sets you up for success.
I transferred from another school and had to retake this class. OMG. She's so helpful with everything. Trust me, I needed a lot of it. This is a truly awesome teacher for those that wanna do well. Hard to top it. I rate her a 5.0 fo-show!!!
If you'd like to be good at math in the future like Calculus then you might wanna take her. As far as I know, everything you do in math builds up to the next level. Maybe with the exception of Statistics. Had a good time learning in this class.
If you the type of person that will need help. She's great at doing everything she can at helping her students to do well in the class. Obviously, she's got lots of experience. I can't thank her enough for helping me through my Mathematical struggles.
I aced the previous math courses before her. I cant recommend Ms P. I did show up to class everyday and I did all the work in Ms Ps class. Tests were the hardest and that affects your grade entirely. I have to retake this course for someone else. Im sorry... Its nothing personal. Everybody learns differently. Unless youre smart in math, go for it.
This is one of the All time greatest instructors of Math I've ever taken. Really takes the time to make sure her students are learning and offers help out of class for anyone who needs it. Professor Preisinger is a great teacher, so any of the negative comments that are on here obviously come from crappy students who don't do their work.
I second that last person's rating. Professor Preisinger deserves a strong 4.9 as a college professor of Math. Had a great time in her class. Any bad ratings are definitely from students that don't care about putting in the effort. Love this Teacher!!!
I had to retake MAT1105 from another teacher, and Professor P helped me really do well. Couldn't have asked for a better teacher. If you able to find an open spot for her class, you'd better take it. Not many teachers as good as her.
Definitely need to sign up early for her class. She's one of the best for sure, anyone who finds out takes her class. I'll forever think of College Math in a more positive way.
I loved her class. She's extremely good at being able to tell if your struggling and takes the time to help out. Not sure if she's always there on Sunday's, but she was there to help us over fall semester. My favorite math professor by far.
With so many choices of Professor to take at Santa Fe. This one is by far the best option, if she's got an opening. I was able to squeeze in as another student dropped. Extremely lucky that happened. She's a really good teacher for anyone who wants to do well in college.
The "MyMathLab" is the only reason to get the book, unless you have trouble in math. She always puts on the board the exercises that will help you on the test. Not mandatory to complete, but I did and it helped me score really high on her tests. The tests are not hard if you do her worksheets and those she'll sometimes count for a grade.
Although I got an A-, I could've gotten an A+ had I done a little more work. Not a hard class because of the way she teaches. Make sure and do her worksheets that she passes out. They helped a lot on the test. I never did the book work, but I was on a competition math team in high school, so math is easy for me. Great Professor!
AWESOME TEACHER
Do the practice work she puts on the board. What to say about Professor Preisinger? Great teacher. Great mentor. Knows how to teach. Really cares about the students and wants them to do well. Prep for the final that she gives is 2nd to none. Really good prep work, and even comes in on a non-class day to give a lecture to those who want it.
Had a really great experience taking her class. Learned more than I thought I could. I guess it's because of how long she's been teacher. She really knows how to get the material to stick. Puts a lot of notes up and really covers all possibilities to every type of problem. Really good teacher. Probably one of the best.
Best Math Professor EVER!
Had a really experience in Miss P's class. Knows how to teach really well. That's a lot considering how bad I've always been at math. Take this Class.
Do the worksheets she gives you. If you have trouble in Math, then do the extra (not mandatory) book work for extra practice. I did, and it definitely helps out on the tests. I got an A on every test. Even the final. Loved this class.
Professor Preisinger is a great teacher. I'd take her if you have the chance to. She is a marvelous instructor.
I'm getting ready to take College Algebra, and thanks to Professor P. I'm feeling really confident about it. She does a great job at teaching. I love her notes that she writes on the board. Literally covers everything. Makes you want to come to class everyday. She does take a roll call, but I don't think she counts it towards grade. Just ask
Professor Preisinger knows her stuff, and really gets you to understand everything. This is a really good professor, and if you can get her class I'd take it.
Miss P's a really great teacher. Her knowledge of math is obvious when you see how well you lays everything out. Love that she's a strait shooter on things that need to be studied. Sign up for her class. You won't be sorry; in addition, your GPA will definitely go up with a good grade of B or better if you take her.
Get in on her Class if you can. Sign up as early as you can, and if you miss out than maybe you can get lucky to have a drop. There's slackers in every class, so just wait and you'll get in. I'd even say just sit in on her class and do all of her work, and maybe she'll work with ya. Audit it. She's a great Teacher!
If you need to take 1033 before 1105, take professor P. You'll leave her class ready to tackle 1105. Such a great Professor. I'm lucky that I took her class. Totally an accident that I was fortunate enough to get in. Professor P is the best! Get into her class if you can.
I gave the textbook a 5 because it's important if your not a Math Genius to do her bookwork. You don't hand it in for credit, so it doesn't count; having said that, if your not very good at math. DO IT! I really did well on her tests because they we're so easily prepped for , thanks to Ms. P.
I thought the class was tuff, but I got an A. That being said, I totally am an English master, but math is my worst subject. In addition to that, know that hard work in anything you do will pay off. Gym, Math, Gaming and all other things we do take work and exercise. If you want a really great coach in your journey in math. Miss P. is the best.
I got a B+ in this class but I didn't do any of the work she suggested, and missed out on doing several worksheet, but thankfully, her tests are easy. They're easy simply because the way she goes over the material. Awesome! Go to class and take notes. She puts everything on the board that you'll need to know. Very easy if you pay attention.
If I could go back in time and take her class, I would. Just because I had a great experience. Met some great people and it was a blast. Learning with her teaching is so....................... Easy! Thanks Professor P!!!!!
Holy BEST Teacher EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gonna Miss Professor Preisinger, as well as, Santa Fe. Off to Florida, where the Calculus professor probably won't even teach us. And I'll be in a room with 100 students. Wow, that's worth it. Wish I could get my Masters at Santa Fe. Way better Professor's but hey. Economics is why it's this way.
Can't say I'm happy about math. I've been out of high school for over 25 years, but I have to get this knocked out in order to go to dental hygene school. this college stuff is hard for me but she really makes it easy. i dont know how to campare her to the rest but shes a great teacher and I got a a in her class. Really great teacher
Good luck getting into her class. She's one of the best to take at Santa Fe and if you wait more than a few day, her classes will be filled. Actually, not one of the best, but absolutely the best!
IF YOU WANT A GOOD GRADE IN COLLEGE ALGEBRA, then take Professor Preisinger!
If you need practice, then buy the book. I paid online with card to get the code in order to do MyMathLab, which I think is like 10% of the total grade. Miss Preisinger is a great teacher of math, and she'll give everything you need in order to destroy the final.
A+ as far as rating a teacher is concerned. Best I've ever had.
Might need the book for some of her practice work, but other than the my math lab stuff, you really don't need it. Leaving her class with a weak A, I feel that, had I put in the effort, I'd have mad an A+ easily.
Miss Preisinger is a really good teacher. I struggle in Math BAD! However, she helped me to get a B+ without much effort at all. If you actually do a little work, you should have no problem getting an A.
Unlike 1033, you do not need the book. Do all of her worksheet, and take notes, as well as, going to class, and you'll ace this course. She's a really easy teacher if you pay attention. I texted most of the class. LoL, but I learned the material easily because of Professor P's skills.
If you want an easy A, then take Professor Preisinger's class. Not because math is easy, but because you knows how to TEACH!!!! Loved the class.
Is there a better teacher for instructing Santa Fe College's Math students? Doubt it. Good Professor! Better than Good. The BEST.
This was my first college math class and it was easy after going to every class with Prof. P. This lady definitely knows how to teach. I hope she teaches statistics, so i know I'll get a good grade after college algebra.
If you take her class you don't have to be at every one. If your doing good, then she can tell. She's really good at her job and knows how to help those that need it. I attended one of her sunday gatherings and it helped me out a great deal for our second test. Get into her class if you able to. Most spots get filled early.
Im dual enrolled, and very good at algebra, but Ms. P is a really great teacher. All the people in my class did really well taking her, and hopefully they'll make good comments for her to.
Not sure how hard Ms. Preisinger is in other math classes, but in 1033 her class was Smoooooooooth......... Sailing. Very well taught. I aced her Intermediate class with ease because she knows how to teach. You have to do the mymathlab stuff, but that's easy. Excellent math professor.
I thought she was a great teacher even though math isn't my strong point. Now it is. Thanks Professor P.
Aced 1033 with Ms. P, so I'm signing up for her MAT1105 for sure. Seems like she's one of the best, if not the best Math professor at the Fe.
At first I was a little skeptical on how much the notes are she puts on the board. She also give some suggested bookwork every class that is supposed to help with the test. It does, so I kept doing it. Do the worksheets that she give you because usually she give you credit for doing them. Loved her teaching style once I got used to it.
Taking this class, 1105 with the Master-P was a good thing. I just wanna get math done and over with as I wont need it to be a zoology major. LoL. She's a great teacher and I'm glad I took her. Got a B+, but also could have tried harder.
Don't need to use the book, but you need to go to the math lab in p-building. The tutors there will help out a lot doing the computer stuff that's manatory; also, she was there on sundays helping the 1105 people, but also 1033 if your one of her students and need the help as I did. Great Teacher and cares about her students progressing.
Easy teacher to take. Professor Preisinger is great at breaking everything down. Definitely don't regret taking her class. Got an A, so up with the GPA. :)
You never will use the book, except for possibly some of the practice work she'll put up on the board; however, do that work she recommends. If you do, the ability to score high on the exams will increase.
I was hoping that I'd be able to take this class online, but you have to go to the class and the lab. Good practice in the lab. Teacher does a great job at giving you all the notes that are needed to study for the tests and the the exams. Easy class.
There's a lot of work to do in the Math Lab. Just go and do it. So easy, and you can do examples for all the problems, except the quizes. Gotta get a tutor to help you out with that stuff. Miss Preisinger is probably one of the best teachers at the school. At least in comparison to the professors I've taken thus far.
Miss P, taught my 1033 class and then my 1105. both of them were a breeze and i can tell ya that it was because of the quality of teacher. i cant believe anyone says anything about her as far as being a great teacher. I guess theres slacker everywhere in this world, so sure to always expect it. this is a great teacher if your able to sign upFOR her
Won't be finding a better teacher at Santa Fe, as far as math is concerned. Wow, Professor P, is outstanding at making it all make sense.
This was a really great class and I'm glad that I had it with Professor P. Great School and Great Professor.
Intermediate Algebra is a bit harder than I expected, but with the help Professor P was able to provide, the class was a breeze.
Probably going to be hard to get into this class if your late about signing up, but if you can get into her class, you won't regret it. Loved this Math class, and honestly, I'm no fan of Mathematics.
you don't have to go to every class, but you do need to get to the Lab. There you'll find plenty of help in order to complete the required My Math Lab work. She's a perfect. I'm lucky to have taken her class.
Hands down the best Teacher at Santa Fe College.
This is an easy class to take because of the way which she teaches the course. Not sure about 1033, but 1105 was a breeze thanks to the tips and tricks from Professor P.
Professor Preisinger is Amazing
Absolutely hate math, but Ms. Preisinger somehow, made me like coming and learning the material. Can't even explain it. She somehow makes you wanna never miss a class. Very experienced when it comes to teaching and I was sittin pretty with my GPA when I finished her class. Hard to find a spot, so sign up early as you can.
I wouldn't call Professor P. easy, but she's not hard at all. Just do the worksheets that she gives out, and you'll do awesome. Loved the Class.
Don't buy the book. You don't need it if your actually good at math. I just did all the My Math Lab, and worksheet, and then asked questions in class. I would go to every class though. I got an A because of doing so.
You have to get the book for the math lab work, and you have to get to the math lab in the P-Building in order to get help on the quizes; however, you'll be glad you did, and she'll see that you put in the effort to do well. She's great at helping you learn. Definitely my favorite teacher at the Fe!
get the book, go to class, take notes, and you will do outstanding in this class. miss p is super epic at teaching mathematics. i loved her class and made several friends. great times.
Miss Preisinger! WOW! Better be glad she's not retiring if you need to complete a math class at the Fe, you'll want to get signed up early with her. Be swift in your making that happen, as there won't be much time for available spots in the Spring. I think it's already too late, but if you can wait till next semester, take her. AT ALL COST!!!
She really enjoys her job. She reminds me often of those teachers they make movies about that believe in the potential of EVERY student. She won't leave anyone behind. She puts in extra time that she doesn't have to if it means helping you understand something. She gives lots of cute sayings to help you remember difficult concepts.
BEST math teacher I have ever had! I've never made an A in math until I took her class. She explains things so clearly, and she will repeat herself as many times as you need. Take her!!
SHE is an amazing teacher, as long as she sees you are putting forth your best effort, she ill go out of her way to help you. She wanders the class during lab/studio time and helps you, if she sees you need it. I wish she taught all levels of math. You do need to get the paper packet & the key code for this class.
she is really the best teacher I've ever had in my life.I had to miss a couple of days of her class for a family emergency and I was also failing the class but from her staying in contact with me and allowing me to come to office hours really helped me out a lot.
BEST MATH TEACHER! I HATED math before I went to her class. I guess you could say I was afraid of it. She made me actually enjoy doing math. Her teaching is great, she knows what she's doing, she'll help you out (as long as your in class and put forth the effort). I'd recommend her to anyone!
She is a wonderful, friendly, helpful teacher. really takes the time to help students understand. i took this class the semester before and was lost, but with her help i was able to get an understanding of the material and move on. i would recommend her to anyone looking for a caring teacher.
There is no better Teacher at Santa Fe College!!!
She is an excelent teacher, I hope I feeled out the questionare right....she is very thorough and helpful. Her test where verbatum of what she taught. You would want her as your Mat1033 teacher!
She's Really Great... I suggest every one to take her!!!!
Most definitely one of my favorite math teachers. Shes very helpful, clear and won't hesitate to take the time to elaborate. She makes it very easy to understand.
She is an extrememly helpful teacher. I don't like asking for help very often but she helps you in a way that makes you feel comfortable. She helps you work through you mistake and actually help you to understand math. i've never had a math teacher like her before!
Professor Preisinger is the best teacher I have ever come across. She explains all the concepts in a way that we can all comprehend and understand. If you need help, she doesn't make you feel like you are stupid. She has the patience of an angel! I strongly urge EVERYONE to take her!
Good Luck trying to get a spot in one of her classes. Apparently everyone is trying to take Professor Preisinger for math at Santa Fe. All I hear is great things. I'm waiting till next semester to pick up 1105. had for 1033, and wow, what a great teacher.
great teacher who knows how to teach. recommend taking if you can. like comment below said. hard to get into a spot with her class. everyone's trying to take Professor P.
Best Teacher EVER!!! At least for Math. Laugh Out Loud!
Get the book, and do all the work that she recommends. It'll help a lot on the test. Professor P. is a extremely good teacher. Get into her class early though.
Awesome Awesome Math Professor!
It';s not manditory to go to class, but y0ou really need to go and it'll improve your grade overall. really good teacher
talk about a teacher who puts out for the students. dear guad! she's amazing. emails back almost as fast as you send it. always willing to help in the lab, and just a outsanding teacher when it comes to helping you learn. Take this course if you can.
This is a super easy teacher. Just do what she tells you to, and it's impossible to fail. Such a great math Professor. You won't regret it, that's for sure.
There comes a time in life where one must ask themselves? Do I want to learn, or think (C's get degree's). This is probably one of the best Teachers at Santa Fe College; especially, when pertaining to MATH. I'd say that Professor Preisinger has more than a handle on getting it to sink in. So glad that I took her course: 1105. Great Instructor!
This is a good Teacher: RECOMEND!
I got a B+; however, the amount of effort which was put into her course was, um............ 30%. Ok, now I'm good at math, but I'll tell you this. She really knows what she's doing, as far as making it all learnable. More than likely my favorite teacher.
I'm honestly not sure about how much the 1033 class uses the book, but it's a definite need for 1105. Not to costly, LoL. Do the work which she'll recommend, but remember. It's recommended, and the reason for this is because it does help you on, not only the final, but also every test which you take. Want an A? Get the BOOK! what's it worth to ya?
Well, usually I wouldn't waste my time to compliment a teacher. I'd just move on to another semester, with the last being a memory. On the other hand, now I feel the need to make a positive remark. Won't lie, had some motivation, but this teacher is beyond good. Professor P. is absolutely GREAT! I barely got into her course late, but don'tCHANCE it
I myself did not but the book because I'm poor, but you should get it if you can. I totally barrowed it from a buddy that took Miss P's class. He took it, yet the time of his class was far different from mine. I wake up early, and he wakes up at 2pm. LoL. Anyhow, the book will help you score high on your tests, but it'll also help you destroy final
This math professor really knows what she's doing. good teacher. take her if you can get in. I was 3rd to last in a 50 student classroom, and apparently there is such an increased number of people wanting to take her class that, Fe is going to be using to largest classrooms to increase the amount of possible students each semester. She's GOOD
AWESOME PROFESSOR!!!!!!!!
professor preisinger is a wonderful teacher, and she really does a good job at showing you the way. take this class. well, if your 1105. i myself took 1033 at another school. lol. lol. lol. going to miss professor preisinger. she was a really awesome educator and mentor as well.
If you have to take 1033! TAKE Professor P!!!!!!!
Very good teacher. Explains new concepts clearly and always willing to answer questions if you don't understand something the first time.
Great teacher. Her tests is straight from the study guides she gives out. Easy A
She is a great teacher! Even though I am already good in math, I feel just about anyone could take her and pass her class, because she explains everything so well. She is able to break down any problem easily. We had three tests in her class, and before each test she makes sure you have had a chance to learned the information.
Probably won't find a better math teacher at santa fe. miss p is really great.
I only say not easy at first, but then once you get used to her she's a breeze. Love her worksheets which she gives you. They really help out a lot, and on top of that they're similar to the way the test will be. Not exactly the same, but similar. Great Professor!
Really enjoyed this class. Mrs. P makes you wanna come. Always there to help out the students who need it. Just a good teacher all around. I'd take her again if I was able to get into her class, but they were all filled up. Don't miss out, and sign up early.
I don't know about 1105, but I'm already starting this semester with her because she made 1033 so............. easy! My favorite teacher by far!
Best teacher by far
Take her class if you can get in. A lot of people are trying to sign up for her, so don't be a procrastinator!
I really hate math. and professor preisinger know how to teach it. i'd do it all over again.
I just went ahead and 5'd everything. Should be some 6 or 7's available. Ms. P is AWESOME!
I hate math and am terrible in it. She is pretty good though. A little scatter brained but she knows her stuff. Make sure to do your homework and go to class and you'll do fine. Really nice and helpful. I'd take her again.
Great professor! Explains math in a simple way, making it easy to understand. She does expect you to keep up with the bookwork and online work, but if you do, you'll be fine (even if you hate math).
Professor Preisinger is really good at explaining the problems. As long as you show up, pay attention, and do the homework, you should be fine.
I am amazed that someone would say she doesn't listen to students! She does and she even works in the math lab on Sundays so you can get extra help. If you do the work, go to class and study you get a good grade. Her explanations are clear and she doesn't ramble. I enjoyed her so much,I took her for both MAT1033 and MAC1105. Highly recommend!
Doesn't Spend much one on one time with you. she explains the material and leaves the rest to you in the lab.
Professor Preisinger is an amazing teacher! She is very clear and gives complete and thorough instruction in the classroom! She really goes over the test and homework material thoroughly! I highly recommend her to anyone taking intermediate algebra! I wish I could have taken her for College Algebra but the class schedule didn't match with mine!
This class will be difficult , but if you put in the effort you will pass. Her tests are difficult you have to remember all of the formulas and make sure you have the right calculator . It's not a load of things to do in her class she will give notes on the chapter. Then you will get in groups and do a worksheet with things that she just went over.
Remember the random stuff she says about her pets- Extra credit! It was really hard to get EVERYTHING perfect on handouts. I didn't particularly like her or the class, but others seemed to.
Great prof for Algebra. Prof Preisinger teaches in a clear, logical format. If you listen, take notes, and practice you will do well.
Professor P. is an amazing professor. She will go the distance to make sure you understand the material. Also she goes to math lab on Sunday's for study group. If you take this class you will have a great professor that cares about her students.
Made math so easy to understand. Really great professor. Wish I could take her for every math class.
If you go to class and do assigned homework, you will pass. Take notes on everything she posts and pay attention to anything she says about her pets. She is teaching exactly so you will pass the final.
I liked Professor Preisinger as a lecturer, but the class set up of being in the lab two days a week and the classroom for one day, I'm not so crazy about. As long as you do all your homework and quizzes on time, and pass the tests, you'll be fine.
I actually really liked Cheryl. She never over-did things and always got straight to the point. She also sometimes made me laugh. I never felt as though she wasted my time, and over all made math easy for me.
Amazing teacher. Made me love math even more. She warned to use study groups, and they really do work.
Awesome instructor. Will do anything to help you if you put in the effort. Gives extra credit on tests, pay attention to odd things she goes over in class.
I thought she was pretty tough, teaches really fast, and the exams are a little tough. She is always available for extra help. Lots of homework on canvas!
amazing professor, very funny and respected!!
Good professor. I really enjoy it. If you do homeworks, you will pass it with a A.
She's good at explaining but she can go pretty fast. She doesn't mind going over something again if you ask her though. The tests are kinda tough, but if you do the reviews you can get an A. My biggest gripe is that she prioritizes technicalities over the answer sometimes. But if you devote time to understanding the class you can get an A.
She's a great teacher for college algebra! I'm not the best at math and she made the material clear to understand and let everyone know exactly what was going to be on the test and final.
This class has a departmental final that is apparently REALLY hard. With Professor Preisinger, it was a breeze. She knows what she is doing and will do what she can to help anyone who is putting in effort. I would take her for every math class I had if I could.
I thought she was really condescending. She didn't really care much to explain things when students had questions. I passed the class. But not because of her. My tutor pretty much taught me the class. A lot of worksheets. Her exams aren't bad. Pay attention to her pets. They're extra credit on the exams. I'd recommend a tutor if you take her.
Mrs. P was a great teacher! Absolutely recommend her for college algebra. Her whole course is to prepare you for the final, which is pretty tough. But, come to class, do the work, and study for the exams and you will pass. She can be picky on grading but by this course you need to start getting specifics right anyway. Great experience with her.
Oh, I love Mrs. P so much! She's so hilarious and awesome. I hate math and I passed this class with a really high B (after getting a D once before). If you get the chance, take her!!
Show up to class. Do your work. Only way to pass, class itself is pretty easy and she will help.
I'm a month away from the final and for once in my life, I feel confident about taking a math test. Professor Preisinger is very thorough with her lectures and is very easy to talk to if you have any issues or questions. The mandatory work load is not bad at all but there is optional book work if you need and/or want the extra practice. She rocks!
If you did not have good math instructors previously or are capable of teaching yourself math well don't take her. She shows up late or let's you leave early or doesn't show up at all and leaves you to the math tutors. She is available during her office hours but not the full time. She is funny but does not care about students doing well and passing.
Mrs. P is one tough grader but she does it on purpose. She's very willing to help you with anything you are struggling in but you must speak up! She assigns a lot of homework that counts for a lot toward your grade but if you do it all you will never be lost in class. She's very quirky and talkative. Take her class, for sure.
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS! She goes through her lecture extremely fast and is not able to be found during Lab time. You might as well have a lab assistant help you throughout the course! Also, the 3 test will break or make your overall grade and attendance matters. However, I wouldn't advise ANYONE to take this course unless they're VERY self taught!
Really great professor. Her lectures are very helpful and easy to understand. She is very approachable and will talk to you if you don't understand something in her lesson.
Wonderful teacher, she very much understands the material and how to explain it. Sadly, she teaches every math class except Stats, so for people that only need to stats cannot keep the same professor. Plus, she's absolutely hilarious.
Mrs. P was a great professor. She was clear with everything she taught and the homework wasn't overkill. Worksheets and MyMathLab were the only assignments. Three tests but all were easy and her study guides were almost copies of the tests. She was really nice too. Almost always willing to extend a deadline for homework or online quizzes.
I really enjoyed taking MAC1105 with Mrs. P! As long as you study for the tests and work hard you will do well in this class. I had an A before the final, but the final brought me down to a high B. I found the final to be very difficult, but she prepares you in every way she can! Overall, one of the best math Prof. I've had.
Mrs. Preisinger is a great professor! I hate ALG and it always sounds like BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, but Mrs P. was great! A light bulb actually went off. She knows her stuff, but most importantly, knows how to teach it. you WILL NOT have a problem! I wasnt afraid to ask questions, which is a must for me! Take her class & show up, you won't regret it!
I absolutely hate math but Mrs. P made it easy to understand and I was able to ask questions without feeling stupid. The textbook is needed to study and do outside work to help you better understand the material, but all of the graded homework is online.
Very helpful professor! I highly recommend anyone taking MAT1033 take her class.
Ms. Preisinger was alright. She teaches by using examples, so basically you teach yourself. Math is my weakest subject and I managed to pass, but it wasn't easy. What helped me the most was going to the math lab regularly (even though the math lab is not required for this class) and having a study group. Study, study, study and you will do great!
Mrs. P was awesome. She was clear with her thoughts and if you ever had any trouble she had no problem doing something over and over until you got it. She did assign a lot of homework, some on mymathlab, worksheets, and in the book. Book homework wasn't mandatory, but is highly recommended. Overall she was amazing, I would definitely take her again
I took her over summer and it was hard! I had to go to tutoring after every class. She almost always ended class 30-45 mins early and left the classroom to go eat lunch/smoke. Not very helpful or available with questions. Doesn't use canvas so it's hard to keep track of your grades. She does give up to 4 extra credit points per test.
Professor Preisinger is great! She is tough yet makes everything she teachers crystal clear
Honestly, she's the worst. She doesn't help you and makes you feel dumb for asking questions. BEWARE!!!!!! She says things are not going to be on the test but it ends up on it... She is really mean as well... This was the worst teacher I've ever had...
I would not take this professor again. She doesn't truly care for students. She also I guess thinks we don't have lives because the amount of homework given is ridiculous ! If you are to take her class be sure you have enough time to keep up with it. She goes over the material very quickly and doesn't care typically to go too into depth be prepared
She is fantastic! I had fun in the class and as long as you do the homework and write notes, you will get an A. Also she is pretty funny. I definitely would take her again!
Worst teacher ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do not take this lady!!
Seems nice at first, until you ask a question and makes you feel like an idiot in front of the whole class. Very condescending & if you don't understand something or like the way she's teaching she'll shut you down in an instant. Might like her if you're knowledgable w/ algebra & don't need any help. Santa fe's entire math department needs redoing.
Don't miss her class.
I had Professor Preisinger last semester, and I loved her class! Her teaching style really worked for me. On the first day of class, she had us do a fun group activity which helped me make a few friends that I could ask questions to later on. She is very approachable and helpful when you have questions. She's my favorite teacher!
An amazing teacher!
She is a great teacher! As long as you put your self foward you will do good!
Amazing Teacher. Really cares about her students & wants everyone to succeed.
I'm not the best at math, but Prof. Preisinger really helped me understand what I was being taught! Her lectures are very clear and she is very willing to help you if needed. I would definitely recommend taking her class. Plus she is there during studio days to help with your homework, too. She is great!
She was very helpful and caring. I received a high C in the course but that was my fault bc she was great. Provided study guides that were the same as the tests except the numbers changed. Would recommend her
Cheryl is a nice, funny lady but there's a lot of homework and quizzes. I probably shouldn't have skipped as much as I did.
She is such a great, funny, and a nice teacher. She teaches very well, just pay attention and attend class. her homeworks online are pretty easy, and she reduces them. Her tests are easy as well. Easy A if you work for it :)
eh, she is okay. If you are already pretty good with math already, the class is pretty manageable. She does not use canvas and can come off as rude when you ask a question. Probably better math professors at Santa Fe.
I ended up withdrawing from this class because I failed the first tests. She is such a good professor though, Ive always been horrible at math but I grasped every concept she taught. Shes a very tough grader but she knows what shes talking about. Just study study study for exams.
I suck at math, but after taking this class I feel prepared for precalc. The lessons are very clear, and she is able to answer any questions you have in class. Attendance is not mandatory, but almost everything she teaches in class is on the tests. The tests (and final) were hard, but do the hw & review your notes and you'll fine! I recommend her!
Does not go over problems during class. Does NOT respond to emails. I would never take this class with this professor again!
i've taken her for all of my math classes and i love her. i wish i could take the ones i still need with her. she's nice and funny, gives some worksheets, is good with answering questions. 3 tests and the final. online pearson homework and quizzes on each unit. im definitely not good with math and i still do good. she teaches very well.
Great professor for college algebra, better than some of the others on campus. She wants people to succeed but if you don't put in the work you will easily fail. There are "group projects" aka worksheets, online homework and quizzes, take home worksheets, and 4 exams that can really make or break your grade. She's a funny lady.
Professor Preisinger is one of the best Math Professors at Santa Fe. You have to pay attention in class, you need the online book to practice math problems. Your first test will be the hardest test besides the final. It gets easier as long as you pay attention & do the HW. She's funny and if you go to her after class she's super helpful. TAKE HER!
Overall shes a great professor! Shes great at explaining everything you need to know. Make sure you do the worksheets and that you attend class! It will help you in the end . Shes very accessible out of class and shes sometimes funny during class.
i understood her lessons well, but you cant contact her basically at all. she never responded to my emails, calls, text... nothing. which was especially aggravating because i had her during COVID-19
Wasn't the worst, wasn't the best. lecture heavy, if you skip class make sure you have someones # to get the notes and assignment worksheet. tough grader especially on test. She knows what she is talking about, will help if you ask for it.
This professor explained everything that was to be on the test and homework. This class has a lot of work so its good to manage your time and keep up with it. This amount of work made it easier on the final. Im not good at math, but her class made it seem easier. She made difficult concepts manageable.
A hard class for me, but I understood every class, she explains very well every topic, if you ask a question, she will answer with no problem.
First off, wonderful professor. Good lectures and explains everything very clear. If you do whats required and follow on lectures you should be fine.
Insanely tough grader. the handouts were the reason I struggled so hard in this class. When you ask her to go over something again she says she went over it the other day but sometimes you need something explained to you again... She did not handle the COVID-19 stuff well at all. would never take this professors classes EVER again
Best math professor/teacher i've ever had. Great lectures. She even minimizes the online homework. Work hard and study and you will get an A.
I really enjoy this class. I do like math so that may be why I enjoyed it. It would be fun to take with a friend. She has lots of office hours and if willing to help anyone that asks. She responds to emails fast and gave us some extra credit options. I would definitely recommend!
I admit that the class was online during COVID, which may have made things difficult for her. However, it was also incredibly difficult for students to adjust to as well, and she wasn't as forgiving as we were expected to be of her. I had extreme difficulty contacting her outside of class with little response. Never explained what you did wrong.
Her HW is heavy so you get a bad score on 1 then your grade will be knocked 2 letter grades for some reason. She makes no sense but at least she's willing to try and explain. But her organization is trash and so is her grading.
Professor Preisinger does plenty of math problems in class and wastes little time. I always got email responses back. Her tests are nothing surprising, it's all gone over in class. If you show up and do the work, you'll have an A. My only complaint is that when I had an online class with her, her parrot was the most annoying animal in the world.
terrible professor. she canceled class close to 10 times before the semester was over. she was not very accessible outside of class. she can be rude to students, and is not forgiving when students are having internet issues. when she did have class it would be less than an hour long. long story short- don't waste your time or money on her class.
I'm so lucky to have gotten Professor P for this semester. She is very funny, caring, and overall a great teacher. I recommend taking advantage of her office hours, it helped me a lot. She always records her lectures but will only give EC to the people who attend. She reviews around 14-16 of the problems that will be on the test which helpful
I personally did not like Mrs. P. She didnt really explain the lectures very well. And when I would text her about questions she would be very vague and not answer what i needed so throughout the whole class I struggled tremendously.
I would not recommend this prof for online classes. Only types in caps so it always seems like shes yelling at you. Also does not answer her emails and isnt very nice if you have technical problems.
College Algebra was a really challenging class for me because I didn't take very advanced math in high school, but as long as you try your best in this class, you should definitely get a passing grade. I've always struggled in math courses but I truly felt like she at least wanted me to pass the class which is more than I can say for many teachers.
She is not a good professor at all first test in the class & most of us got an F. Her tests are completely different from what is taught in class. You think youre doing well because youre doing great on quizzes & homework, but exams are difficult. She isnt willing to help outside of class. Worst math Professor Ive had & Im good at math.
Dont NOT stake her unless you want to fail. She is not willing to help outside of class so dont even bother trying. Everyone failed the first exam because of how hard it was and it had new material in it. Im good at math, but it didnt show for this class. She starts our nice, but its fake. Take another teacher for this course if you can.
She is actually the worst math Professor Ive ever had and this is my last semester. I asked for help on something & she told me that I needed to watch the lecture she posted. I had done that and been in class, but I needed additional help on that topic. For homework she is a tough grader, gave my group one A and then mainly Cs. Best of luck
Every assignment that is not done through mymathlab she gives me low grades for. When I ask her for feedback as to why I received the grade she never answers back. She is the worst math professor Ive ever had. I have warned all of my friends about her and I am trying to warn you. Do NOT take her for MAC1105. If you do good luck.
Avoid the lowering of your GPA and dont take her. Her exams are difficult. On the first exam everyone in the class got a C - or lower. The next class she told us that exam 2 would be easy. It obviously was not. The exams are based on things that she did not teach and if she did it was briefly went over it. Impossible to get any feedback. AVOID HER
By far the worst Professor I have had. Do not take her if you want to learn and pass. Her exams are insanely difficult so best of luck if you decide to take her. She is terrible.
She is a terrible teacher. If you fail a test( she doesn’t teach it) you can retake one, but it is a paper test. No more HonorLock so you have to go to the college even if it’s a hybrid or online class. I wouldn’t recommend her at all. She is just awful. Take someone else
Great experience in this class. I’m generally good at math, but this class helped me learn to keep an eye on the little details of my answers. She uses my math lab online for quizzes and homeworks, and i like how those are set up. She’s very nice and tries to help every way she can. I would 10/10 take her again
My class started out with 31 students halfway through the course my class is now 15 students. She is a terrible teacher and her exams are ridiculous. If you value your grade, GPA, and actually learning the information don’t take her. I’m having to teach myself because she doesn’t really teach. Don’t ask questions because she won’t help.
I got a good grade because of my hard work. I paid the college to pay this Professor just to teach myself and get help from other classmates. We should’ve gotten paid instead. She starts out nice, but that doesn’t last. I have never had a Professor that is so inadequate. I would never take her again even if the class were free. Avoid her.
Maybe she is great for other courses, but for MAC1105 she is terrible. I saw her rating & took her. A very big mistake. Read the reviews for the course you will be taking with her. After exam 1 I came back & looked & I saw most people who took her for this course do NOT have good things to say & that is with good reason. For MAC1105 avoid.
Great math teacher that actually cares about you being successful and offers her help always. Prints most of the notes in case you forgot how to do certain problems. Enjoys group work which actually helped me create some new friends. Mrs P is a funny, helpful teacher that has a great way of teaching.
Dr. Preisinger was amazing! She worked with me frequently over the semester and was available anytime I needed help or had an issue. I wish she was teaching the rest of my math courses.
Definitely the worst teacher I have ever had at Santa Fe. She barely answered emails and was not helpful or kind when we had trouble during class. Her teaching style is unclear and she moved WAY TOO FAST. Do NOT take this class unless you want to fail. I have no clue how she has good ratings.
No, just no. If you have to take this class, take another teacher. She makes her tests ridiculously hard. You will think you're doing well based off homework/quizzes from MML that she does not make, but then the tests come and you are left feeling stupid. She won't help you with anything so don't ask. DON'T TAKE HER!! IT'S FOR YOUR OWN GOOD!!!!
I cannot say just how terrible she is. She doesn't teach, but makes her exams like she does. I literally had to teach myself, what is she getting paid for. The people that say she is good I want to ask them what teacher they took because no way was it the same one I had. If I could get her a negative number I would. Avoid her at all costs.
If you don't understand you better ask questions or go to her office hours. She does office zoom tutoring it's up to you to reach out for help.
She moves very fast with her material and doesn't really explain HOW to do the math she just does it. I did perfectly fine in her class until the final and everyone failed it (the average was an F). When I asked her to apply some extra credit I had she said "sorry you have a B" and wouldn't apply it. She also put in grades wrong a lot.
Actually teaches math instead of making you teach yourself, an amazing professor and easy to follow.
if you are going to take the college algebra I recommend 100% that you take it with her she is the best professor I have had so far
Tried explaining to her in an email that I couldn't do a practice quiz because my internet was down but I could do it the next day. She replied two days after saying I didn't have any grades yet. It was like she didn't even read my email.
I wouldn't say this class was hard, but more annoying. She teaches well, but I found myself having to teach myself more than she did on topics. She is very unorganized and has canceled class without any announcement before which was frustrating. Most of the grade was online homework.
I was going to give a her a decent review at first, but as we went over the last test of the semester, she kept on implying that the people that missed questions were stupid. Take quick notes or you will fall behind, she lectures fast. Also VERY specific with grading. I do not recommend her class to someone new to MAC1105 as I was.
I took her class online. She covered a lot of material and always made sure to ask her students if they needed more explanation before ending class early. She also assigns so much work, but you access her assignments and quizzes through two different platforms so it gets confusing. If you like worksheets and quizzes, this class is for you.
You have to turn in your worksheets as a pdf and,i turned in my pdf im assuming she wasn't able to view it. And before she leaves me a email she leaves a comment under the assignment which doesn't notify you. So I emailed her numerous times trying to turn it in and she literally wouldn't email me back. It really shows that she doesn't care at all..
Awful
This professor was terrible. She wasn't consistent with her lessons, in the sense that, in the first 2 weeks we would do worksheets that helped me out a lot because she would actually grade those and give feedback then, she just used (MOM). Her lessons on modules and the work we covered on MOM most of the time didn't even correlate to one another.
DO NOT TAKE HER for math topics. Her lessons are horrible a majority of the recordings are her messing up or loosing track and having to restart the problems and do them the CORRECT way. Personally had to depend on YouTube to learn the material. Her lessons are not updated leaving you to fend on your own.
The class itself was fairly easy and I am not great at math. She gives three worksheets and lots of homework on MML. The homework's aren't due until the exam, so as long as you manage your time, they won't seem like much. Exams are taken at the testing center and you have two days you can take them.
I would not recommend ANYONE to take this class with this professor. The organization of the modules is very disorganized, the lectures don't completely correlate with MOM, responses are untimely and usually unhelpful, and the test questions are randomly selected from all the homework (overwhelming amount) from the unit. Please take someone else!!
Her lectures are clear and not too bad and she can be unorganized. The final exam was incredibly stupid. most of the things taught in the class and online were not there. It was profoundly stupid
Super excessive assignments. At one point we got an assignment with 37 questions, each containing 5 parts. That's about 200 questions, all asking the same exact things. How does that benefit anyone? Everyone just resents the class and the professor.
A little unorganized at times but was still a pretty good teacher. Not the best but not the worst. Lecture style was a little all over the place but not horrible. A couple of big exams but nothing too bad. You'll survive as long as you go to lectures. Pretty average experience overall, her personality was very entertaining though.
She was alright. I knew a lot of the material going into the class (I just needed it for a math credit), but I noticed her lectures included a lot of mistakes and she was constantly redoing the problems. I found the homework to be relatively manageable, along with taking the notes (each lecture is about 15 mins which is nice to split up).
Very disorganized teacher. Often did not have materials prepared for class time and would need to leave and come back. On more than one occasion had the wrong materials prepared, or the materials did not match her lecture notes. Lectures were often confusing and did not feel worth-while. I relied heavily on YouTube. Tremendous amount of homework.
Professor Cheryl has an entertaining teaching style, though the class can be a bit disorganized at times. The final exam was tricky, but using resources like unstuckstudy ai helped me prepare effectively.
Preisinger was kind, though I wouldn't recommend her as a teacher. She was often wrong when working out example problems, and she did not know how to explain things in more than one way. This often left people confused. She did not know how to use the online platform which led to so much confusion. She was nice just a little older.
While this class wasn't the worst thing in the world, it got really confusing and frustrating toward the end of the semester. The first two tests had material that was pretty easy to understand, as long as you followed along in class. The third test, everyone in the class did bad on due to no one understanding anything. I gave up on the homeworks.
Very unorganized. You can even tell by the online lectures that are PRE recorded. Does not respond to your emails. I've had to email her twice and both times I had to send 3 emails following up and the third email on both occasions were “just wanted to make sure you are receiving my emails” to which she would respond with one to two words
She was a really kind teacher though a bit unorganized. There were several occurrences of her making typos on assignments/tests, once she realized she would let us know and fix grades. She gave me an incorrect grade for an assignment once but was very kind and fixed it right away when I talked to her about it. She moves pretty fast with lectures.
