Took her for Intellectual Properties. She likes to make her tests really tricky so that even if you know the material you'll probably still get it wrong. She always acts like she's pissed off about something and hates life. She counts you absent if you're 1 second late and all around doesn't care about her students.

This "teacher" enjoys ruining student's lives. She does not know the material at all, and thus, will confuse you to death. Never ask a question because she will make you feel dumb. Finally!A teacher at Belmont that actually represents real world professors. I personally like her teaching style. She is hard but thorough and really makes you think through your reasoning while you answer a question. I would highly recommend avoiding Dr. Slay. What she teaches is sometimes different from the book, which makes studying for tests very difficult. She is a complete stickler; no make up tests for anything. She cares more about her job as a lawyer than she does about her students. Dr. Slay Carr is overall a great professor. She can be a little intimidating but only if you're slacking off. She's respectful and, in terms of teaching, does a thorough job explaining concepts and repeating them until you truly get it. Plenty of extra-credit opportunities to boost your grade - your learning is the most important thing to her.

Had her this last semester for Copyright. She is certainly good at what she does, but she is not an ideal teacher. She is not unapproachable, and is often condescending in class. If you're not already an expert in law, I would avoid her class. Not to mention, her expectations are quite unreasonable, to Slay-Carr, Copyright is your only priority.

Slay Carr wrote the textbook for this class. And she wants to hear you regurgitate it. For each chapter of the textbook, you are required to write 5-12 page outlines regarding the chapter's "key points." Don't ask questions unless you want to be crucified. She makes you feel terrible for asking for anything. The exam questions are confusing.

This is by far the least organized class I have ever taken. Lectures are not helpful and she expects you to know every single detail from the textbook, which she wrote. Her test questions are vague and confusing. She assigns a lot of busy work outside of class and is often quite rude towards students. Overall, this class is unnecessarily difficult.

While I believe that Dr. Slay (Carr) is probably a fantastic lawyer, she is not a good professor. Her class was unreasonably difficult compared to other copyright law classes. She was rude and condescending when answering questions, did not give lectures (had to watch video lessons), and acts like her class is the only class that we have to manage.

Do not take her class. Coming from someone who payed attention, never skipped, and submitted all homework - this class was still unreasonably difficult. She spends little to no time actually teaching the subject and instead makes you watch lecture videos outside class. She is talks down to her students and cannot explain things well at all!!!

She is by far the worst professor I have ever taken. She is unreasonably hard when grading assignments that are not multiple-choice because she never specifies what you are supposed to do. She gives very broad and confusing questions in exams and will not elaborate because "we are supposed to use our analytical framework." DO NOT TAKE!!

Dr Slay WILL NOT show grace to students even for unforeseen circumstances. She is by the book, which makes sense for a lawyer, but some of her "rules" are unnecessary/controlling. She does not trust you and makes seem like you don't matter to her. Even if you are a good student and engage in class I would stay away from Dr Slay if you can help it.

When I first signed up for this class, I was a little concerned about her rating, but after taking this class, it really wasn't that bad. I have heard that she is difficult to reach outside of class, but I've never really had to because everything I need is in her materials. She is very knowledgable and I feel like I learned a lot from this class.

Dr. Slay is one of the most unapproachable professors I have ever had and is also kind of condescending. She would make you feel dumb if you didn't know the answer to a question or if you asked something she thought you should already know. You will learn a lot, but it is quite a difficult class.

You teach yourself all the content through long videos outside of class but I will say I learned a lot and enjoyed the class, she really pushed me to do my best work. She does not have the best attitude though and despite me applying myself and doing well in her class, we often butted heads. The tests are hard and her wording makes no sense.
