She is ridiculous. Professor basically reads off the powerpoint, so there is really no point coming to class. Tests are hard, you never know what to expect on a test and the some of the time information is not in her slides nor in the book. I wouldnt take her again. I advise you to stay away! This class will screw your GPA.
The professor reads from the slides,so it is hard to understand the materials. She does not really explain the concepts. However, her tests are okay. I've only studied from the slides and gotten all A's so far. However, the class average was in 60's.
She does tend to read directly from the Powerpoint slides, which makes class pretty boring. However, her tests are usually from the Powerpoints, so as long as you study those (and do the study guides) you should be fine. Just wish she would speak during louder during lecture. Often times, its really hard to hear her--and I always sat in the front.
Stay far away from this professor. She is dull, very boring, and reads directly from her powerpoints and does not explain in a way you can understand. Her tests are hard and the class average was a C. Also she does not curve.
Dr. Song is beyond difficult. I knew from day 1 that this class was going to take effort. I put forth that effort and MORE and still got nowhere. Read the book-I did that, study guides-I did that, office hours-I did that, and still got nowhere. She explains things to you the same way no matter how many times you ask her to say it differently.Don't.
Awful. Thats all i can really say. Tests are hard, reads directly off the power points, evades questions about extra credit when class average is 60. Stay away from this professor!
Definitely know your material for the tests, they aren't easy. She teaches off powerpoints and the fact that the material is boring doesn't help either. I still got an A but it took extra time out of class to review a lot of material.
Dr. Song rocks! She is the best teacher for Phylogenetics at GSU! She really prepares you for classes like BIOL 3820 and BIOL 3840. Topics such as neurons,Dendrites, and myelin sheathes are difficult! Dr. Song helped me fully understand them! If you go to her office and actually try to have a relationship with her you will succeed in this class!
The class is hard if you don't take the time to study like I did the first half of the semester. It's molecular cell bio! You have to study! And to all of those people who complain about how she just reads off of her power points, would you rather be tested on material that wasn't covered in class? At least all of the material is at your fingertips
Horrific. Only 4 tests for the class. Right now, i'm studying 7 chapters to take Test #3. Her extra credit is crosswords that are 40-50 answers for only 2 points. Seriously, if you like being a Bio Major and don't want to seriously ruin your grade... don't choose her as your professor.
Run... you have 4 tests which are multiple choice hard with confusing choices. she seems friendly at first but honestly doesn't care. Her voice is boring. Concepts are taught in an over complicated confusing way. BAD PROFESSOR. RUN.
This teacher by far is the worst teacher I ever took. She is so boring in class reading off of power points never care if whole class fail. She even will take your signature that your are happy about your grades. She has 4 exam very hard .... save your self do not take her...
Soooo boring looks at power point the whole time. Blank some of the word in the power point so makes you go to class to basically say this words
These posts are ridiculous. Dr.Song is a good teacher. She is very helpful, critiquing your paper and giving you feedback. I learned a lot in the class about writing in scientific format.
Dr. Song is awesome. She provides all the material you need for the test in class. The tests are basically the powerpoints. More than often, you don't need to read. If you have any trouble, she's always available to work with you at her office hours. She's also a great adviser, much better than the biol advisers in the department. TAKE HER.
The test are straight off of the powerpoints and anything she handed out in class. Quizzes were simple and straight to the point. you'll get A.
It's very heard trying to listen to her when she keeps so softly. The tests are straight from the power points and little bit from the text book. The class may seem easy because of this fact but it's pretty difficult because of the way she words her questions. She gives no sympathy if your grade isn't what you want it to be.
Format of tests changes each test so you never get a feel for how the test will be.. makes you do unnecessary work that she thinks helps but doesn't. If she doesn't word something correctly she will not give extra points for it, so your test grades are undisputable basically. Tests are from powerpoints but don't think the class is easy
Takes points off the whole class' test for cell phones which I don't understand how that is testing how well you know material. Although material is directly from slides, her class is not easy. Usually you can grasp a class after the 1st test, but in her class each and every test and quiz takes you by surprise. Only take the class as a last resort.
Dr Song is awesome. She is always ready to help students and answer questions. I thoroughly enjoyed her class. She's very clear. Her tests are really not that difficult. Go to class, take notes on her power point sheets, and make notecards to look over.
Her tests were from the PowerpPoints for the most part but her questions were unnecessarily difficult and tricky. She took off points on the busy work assigned as homework for the littlest thing. Some of her test questions contradicted her PowerPoints. Easy class, easy material but she made it so much harder.
Dr Song is an amazing professor. She is always willing to help students and answer questions. I really enjoyed her consistency, clarity, and demeanor. Her tests are not that difficult; Go to class, take notes, study her power points, and make notecards to look over.
Dr. Song's class was challenging but she was awesome. You cant just read the power points and expect an A. You really need to pay attention to every word she says. She's extremely sweet and helpful outside of class! She is open to answering questions and discussing anything you're having problems with! You will walk out of that class knowing a lot!
Dr. Song is a great professor. She is very helpful, so go to her office hours. She gives you the notes before class so all you have to do is print them out. Attendance is not mandatory but she gives pop quizzes. Going to Si sessions will also help. I would recommend taking Dr. Song.
I think Dr. Song did a great job of teaching this course. She was able to convey challenging topics in a manner which was easy to understand. She was also always available to answer questions I had regarding the material covered in class. Much of the material on exams came from class notes so you need to attend class in order to get a good grade
Dr. Song is a great teacher! She is ALWAYS available during office hours and is willing to help. She presents info in a clear and organized manner on her power points so you won't really need the book. I made an A in her course by reviewing her power points and attending lectures. To do poorly in her class you seriously have to put in ZERO effort.
Dr. Song is one of the BEST professors at GSU she makes science interesting and you learn a lot. She is very helpful during office hours and her test come directly from her power points! Take her and you will surely receive an A! I did and I don't even like science!
Overall, its an average class if you study, go to her office hours and attend SI sessions then you should come up with a solid B in the class. There is a quiz after each class that covers that day's lecture, you will fail if you don't pay attention. Tests are multiple choice but very hard. Study as hard as you can and you will be okay otherwise no
BIOL 3800 with Dr. Song was not easy in the least but she is willing to provide you with lecture notes and other resources so that you will succeed in her class and you can tell she really wants you to. Not many professors are like this! I received an A in her class by going over her lecture notes thoroughly and attending SI. HIghly recommend!
Great professor for an Intro Biology class
Dr. Song is one of the best teachers that I've had so far. Go to class everyday and record her lectures. Make sure you listen to everything she says in class. If you study her powerpoints and listen well in class, you'll pass with an A. Very awesome teacher.
Really tough class if you dont give at least 70% effort. You have to attend all lectures bceause her tests come from what she says and whats on her power points. Btw, her tests are really hard and tricky. She is really nice though and helpful.
Medical Neuro is a tough class. Dr. Song was very nice, but made the class harder than it needed to be with confusing, frustrating quizzes and saying contradictory things/getting lost sometimes in lecture. No papers to write, and her tests are not bad at all (the final exam was optional). She is available for office hours. Powerpoints helped.
I worked very hard to earn an A in her class. Tests are very tricky if you don't study, and be sure to listen to recordings of what she says. That stuff may end up on a test! She did allow opportunities to get feedback on test items, but only if you make an appointment with her to do so. I would take her class again!
Great professor Always kind and helpful. Pretty inspiring
Great professor Always kind and helpful. Pretty inspiring. I will take her class again.
Dr. Song is one of the better professors I had at GSU. Her tests are tricky, but not difficult if you study the material. She is willing to help any student that needs help & has physical and online office hours. I would definitely take her class again or another class that she teaches.
Song is a good prof. always come to class bc she gives pop extra credit quiz, and trust me you'll need it. Her test are easy but tricky bc she likes to play mind tricks on her exam. Always record her lectures bc she can be a little confusing at times. Only thing I dislike is her grading. I was .2 points from an A and she refused to curve it. Angry
DO NOT TAKE FOR BIOL 3800!!! Terribly unorganized and unhelpful this semester. Did not follow syllabus with assignments or class meetings. Unable to contact outside of class by email. Many assignments given with 1 day turn around due to her errors. Def do not take if you have a job or other responsibilities.
Very unorganized. Lectures are all over the place and way too in depth for an introductory course. I was actually looking forward to this course, but the information overload made it more of a memory game than an actual learning experience.
I took her because I have no choice but If you do, don't take her. Her lecture's very long and only 30% relative to exam. Her pp and study guide are useless. Exam comes randomly from the book not the pp or study guide. HW and quiz are due every week which wastes time and don't help with exam. This class is only allowed to take 2 times so be careful
I've many of Dr. Song's courses from 2107K-4000 level courses, and have made A's on all. Nonetheless, they're some of the hardest A's I've had to work for. She is caring and willing to help you as long as you show effort and interest. One of the greatest professor's I've ever had.
She is an Amazing professor and cares about your learning. The class itself is hard so, READ the chapter ahead of the class and know everything on her lecture notes for the test. She grades very fairly. Very helpful if you are willing to put the time into it. Treats everyone the same. Softspoken sit in front. overlaps with Biochem.
I took Dr. Song for molecular cell during the summer. Fast paced and she does not round up grades but she gave us bonus questions on the tests and for our homework assignment. This is not an easy class but she is willing to help. Go to office hours after you take a test to look at your test and write down notes , it will help you on the final.
Great professor; I took this class in the summer so it was very fast paced and science classes aren't an easy A regardless of the professor. Look at her powerpoints before class and go over the topics mentioned in class/powerpoints in the textbook. Come to class and do her assignments and you will get the A!
If you love yourself do not take her class. She will make you question your intelligence
To do well, read chapter before lecture. Even though you don't understand everything, make an effort to read. Do all launchpad assignments, and weekly quizzes. The quizzes have unlimited attempts. She gives some in class assignments. If you know material, they are not hard. After lecture read chapter one more time. Test is from everything above.
Professor Song is a really nice person and interacts with her students. Her lectures were mainly her talking about the chapters with pictures in her PowerPoint. There were little, to no notes whatsoever. If youre a visual learner, you should record her lectures. She gives you unlimited attempts on quizzes. READ THE TEXTBOOK!!!!!!!
Professor Song is a very friendly woman but: -Quiz are online but very vague -Lecture, make sure you record everything -Her powerpoints only have pictures so listen attentively - You have to get the book and modules are due every week - Test are hard (multiple choice/open ended) - Overall i would say she really knows her content, read textb
She pretty much explains topics without much visuals. hard to follow if you didn't read before the class, don't go if you didn't read. there are pop quizzes and a bunch of take home assignments, which is hard when all your other work is online. she is awesome in office hours though if you don't understand something.
Dr. Song is amazing!!!! I took her for molecular cell biology in the summer and I got a 99. She gives you all the information you need for the test and the tests are so straight forward. She does ask questions like "A, B, or A&B" but its nothing to worry about if you know the material. I loved her online office hours they were very helpful!
Dr. Song is one of the best professor's I have had at GSU. If you attend lectures, takes notes, and be an active participant during class, you will pass. Don't be overwhelmed by the lectures, if there is anything you are unsure of, go to office hours!!! Attending office hours changed my exam grades from F's and D's to A's. She is very approachable!
Dr. Song is an amazing professor. Lectures may seem a bit overwhelming, but she is great in office hours if you need a bit of 1 on 1 help. Study and do the assignments and you will do well on the exams.
Dr. Song was an amazing lecturer. The class had a few essays, but were not graded too harshly. Show up, read the material, and you will pass.
Dr. Song is an amazing professor. She's one of the best I have had so far at GSU. I took the hybrid course so there was a lot of work, but nothing you can't handle. The exams aren't straight to the point, but if you pay attention in lecture and actually study the information in the powerpoints, you'll do great! It's a really great class overall.
I had her for a hybrid class. You have to come to class having read or you wont know what's going on. Her regular assignments were easy enough but the tests were hard. multiple select questions for half the test and they didnt have partial credit get one part wrong the whole thing is wrong. she may be better for completely in class lecture.
She is the worst professor I have ever had. Terrible terrible Professor. Do not take her. She is so hard and doesnt care at all. This class had me questioning my intelligence. If you want to fail and not be well, take her. If you want to feel like youre taking an upper level biology course while taking an INTRO level bio, take her. Good luck.
terrible professor. multi-select exams with no partial credit. she doesn't respond to emails. she is rude during lectures. she recycles materials from 3800 and teaches it in 2107.
Terrible professor! Do yourself a favor and do not take her class. She doesn't respond to emails, changes deadlines randomly and clearly doesn't care about the well-being of her students. If you do end up with her, you will be teaching yourself everything and will have to watch out for random deadlines.
Condescending and rude. Has difficult multi select tests and teaches from bio 3800. Good luck if you have her
Don't take HER. She doesn't help you pass her class at all, quizzes have unlimited attempts but she recycles questions(they are multi-select) from her 3800 class and she uses them for tests/final exam. She only have one mandatory live class session per week but going off topic often and doesn't answer questions during the session unless she wants.
Dr. Song is an excellent professor. Her classes are challenging but if you go to class and she notices your effort she will help you and will take the time to explain anything you don't understand. Reading the book is helpful. Going to class wasn't mandatory but that is when she gives assignments so you could miss those points. ALWAYS GO TO CLASS!
Dr. Song definitely warrants all the negative reviews on here. Maybe she is better at teaching an in-person class but online she is very inconsistent with her communication and changes deadlines/policies quite often. Better luck taking a different biology teacher ://
Amazing professor! The course is difficult (cell bio) but she does a great job at providing you with powerpoints that have all the information you need! I never used the book. It helps to review the PPTS before lecture just so you know what she's gonna be discussing. She's willing to meet with you and cares about the success of her students.
Had Dr. Song for BIOL 2500 (neurobio). All her powerpoints were supplemented with lectures so I never had to use the book. She is so knowledgeable and makes the class fun to be in. It requires a lot of studying, as expected, but you'll learn so much! Fun class and passionate professor!
not a good prof. super unclear with deadlines and doesn't answer questions or emails. she uses material from BIOL3800 to teach BIOL2107 which doesnt make sense at all
Dr. Song is NOT a good professor regardless of her being in academia for a long time. Do not bother about asking for help because she will use this opportunity to make you feel stupid, or humiliate you. Her ego won't let her admit when she is wrong. Doesn't care about doctor's notices either. Good luck if you take her, you WILL need it.
Dr. Song is a very tough teacher and has unreasonable expectations. She has ecapt lessons which are ok and lots of quizzes and ecapt quizzes. She doesn't reply to emails and goes off onto tangents during her very long meetings. Don't expect to do well or learn anything from her
I had to study by myself using the ebook without the help from prof. Song. She's really unorganized. Her schedule was always changed. Her eCapts and tests always had something wrong. Don't expect her to answer your emails because she doesn't care at all. If you really want to learn bio, don't take her!
If you love yourself, do NOT take her for Biol 2017. She uses materials from her Biol 3800 class to teach this class, the class is extremely unorganized, she will completely ignore you when you email her or ask questions on online lectures, and her tests and quizzes are all multiselect. She is the worst professor I have had so far.
Dr. Song is one of the worst professors I have had so far in GSU. Please do not take her for this class! She is very disorganized, and all her tests are multi-select. Her schedule has changed so many times, and it is super hard to keep up with her. She also does not respond to any emails. Try to read the textbook to get a better grade in her class!
Terribly unorganized, recycles multi select questions from her upper level bio classes, very unreasonable expectations
Worst experience with a professor I've ever had! Extremely condescending and terribly organized. REFUSES to curve and gives out bad grades happily even though she gives out incorrect answers and messes up deadlines and assignments. Don't take Dr. Song if you can.
Worst professor I have ever had in my life. Didnt respond to emails ever. Exam questions have spelling errors and incorrect content. Lecture slides are all over the place and confusing. Shes condescending and unsympathetic. Clearly doesnt care if her students learn. Doesnt follow syllabus and makes time management impossible. DO NOT TAKE!!!
Unclear grading criteria. Unmanageable deadlines and expectations. Exam times for some students were 9 PM to 3 AM. Constantly adding new assignments midweek and changing due dates. Cancelled lecture one week and gave us double work the next week. Horrible at explaining concepts and unresponsive to questions. Doesnt prepare you for Bio2 or MCAT
Recycles upper level class lectures. Literally the worst at communicating with her students. Lacks empathy, and sympathy. She is extremely passive aggressive and condescending if you have questions she doesnt not agree with. Definitely do not recommend taking her.
Simple. If you want to not question your intelligence because of her unclear exam questions and messy teaching method then do not take this class. She will make you question your life choices constantly.
Where to begin? She never communicates, and we have been "staying tuned" this whole semester. I don't think I learned a single thing this semester from her except how to be passive aggressive and unwilling to change. Please don't take her if you value your sanity and well-being. She recycled lectures from 3800 to teach 2107 which didn't help AT ALL
If I could give a negative rating I would. A one rating is toooo high for her. This teacher is the devil. She was not understanding. Her test had so many errors in which she claims it did not. If you have to take bio 1 and she is the only teacher, I am begging you to put it on hold and take another science for that semester.
RUNNN, do not take her as a teacher. She drained us mentally and physically. It got to the point, I was scared to even think of the word "biology". She ruined many people mentally, and make you question if college is for you.
Honestly, she is a very bad teacher. She does not want to attempt she is wrong. Our grades suffer because of her pride. I never was a person to tell someone to not take a teacher, but if 50 plus students are saying the same thing, that says something.
I am going to keep this simple and short. if you take her, be ready to cry every night. have fun.
WORST teacher ever. Changes up deadlines, doesn't repond to emails, has one word multi select questions, gives incorrect questions(which she doesn't bother to clarify) and no partial credit sometimes. I feel like she's trying to set us up for failure. If these many students are complaining its a red flag
Due dates keep shifting around and her exams were clearly wrong yet she wont correct it. Our emails get ignored and she brushes off our questions in a very condescending tone. Be warned if youre taking her.
TERRIBLE! avoid at all costs, she literally doesn't care about students at all and doesn't do her job properly
Simply just avoid her at all costs
Professor Song definitely needs an evaluation done with her on her teaching styles. I am sure most students like myself that have taken her class are not retaining the information. She is very disorganized, does not respond to emails, not fair in her approach of giving exams and quizzes spaced out enough to study. She simply does not care.
She shouldnt be a professor. She does not teach her students. She does not answer questions. Her tests are incomprehensible and dont make sense. Very disappointed in her and GSU for continuing to let her teach. If you want to learn biology dont take her. Her class is a sorry excuse for a biology class. Also she is unkind and disrespectful.
had to go back to therapy bc of her
Taking her class was very depressing. She made the process of her class more difficult than what it had to be. Her exams were hard and near to impossible to pass. Her virtual lectures were hard to follow along. She's a terrible communicator and rarely responds to her emails. The TA's help you more than she does. If you love yourself don't take her.
I would give her a negative rating not 1. So many things wrong with her and this class. Seriously dont put yourself through any of her classes.
Bio is generally a hard course but this professor made it much harder than it had to be. Really bad at communicating and was very disorganized. Do not take, unless you have no other choice.
This class has been the most stressful thing I've experienced IN LIFE. There is no clear communication between Dr. Song nor is there a way to make her take accountability for her faults. There is no structural teaching apart from the ecapts, which were difficult and the tests were HORRIBLE. It honestly feels as if she wants you to fail.
Dr. Song is the worst professor that I have ever taken in my life.
I usually never ever write reviews on my professors, but I'm writing this review for the future students that are thinking about taking her class. Please for your best interest don't take this class. She is the worst professor that I have taken throughout all my years in academia.
I did not heed the negative reviews on here and I paid the price. Her exam questions are too vague or too detailed to understand. Randomly canceling office hours, not posting the weeks module until Thursday, only opening up unlimited attempt quizzes on Sunday (due Monday at 11:59am) when we should have had the whole weekend. Completely unprofessio
Dr. Song is the worst.
Absolutely the worst professor I've had in my entire academic career. Her tests require multiple answers per question and missing one of the answer will mark the entire problem wrong. She didn't follow the syllabus and would change assignments last minute. Overall, avoid this professor at ALL cost. Rude and has destroyed my mental health! STAY AWAY
I've shed many tears when taking this class. I always give professors the benefit of the doubt, but her class was the worst in my entire academic career. Her tests are almost impossible because of the fact that they have multiple answers and getting one part wrong, marks the entire problem wrong. She lack of communication and rudeness didn't help.
Didnt learn biology in this course. Simply learned how to accommodate her poorly worded test questions and memorize answers I didnt understand. She doesnt care if you learn or not or if you pass or fail. She is the worst teacher Ive ever had. Dont understand how GSU is keeping her on. Do not take her. Shes not an easy A or a good teacher
If you have to take a Biology class make SURE it is not HER!!! She kicked out, I'm talking dropped, half her online biology class for scoring a 94 on a SYLLABUS quiz instead of a 95. Mind you it was a 17 pt quiz, if you miss one point the highest you could get was a 94? Then she had the AUDACITY to email us a RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL email!!!
I'm not saying Dr. Song is an absolutely horrible teacher. However, she is so horribly prepared for the online semester up to the point that a TA had to take the reins over. Most of the learning will be done by yourself and her lecture videos are ok, but wastes more time than worth it for the material it gives you. The course is all over the place.
I have never written a rating on a professor until I came across this one. Saying that her class online is a nightmare is an understatement. She takes forever to answer emails and continuously cancels office hours. I haven't learned anything from this class, and I have turned to only the textbook as my slightest chance in passing. DON'T TAKE!
Don't take this professor if you want. I'm sure she's passionate about biology but she's very unorganized. All of her announcements are scattered and unclear. She doesn't have a specific time for the optional meets so I don't even attend (I work). The quizzes AND TESTS are check boxed (not multiple choice) so they are hard.
Online testing and quiz format is unbelievable
she will make you hate biology and hate your semester. if you can't dedicate 100% of your life to this class you wont pass. she makes you feel stupid and doesnt teach the material. she truly doesnt care about the education you get from her. if i could go back, i wish i would have just taken bio a different semester rather than have taken her class
WORST professor in existence. I cannot believe the way the way she conducts her class. She misleads her students to fail. She does not answer emails, she doesn't answer anything you ever ask! her lectures make no sense. she has everything abbreviated and you need to look everything up. Nothing makes sense in this class. She is not a professor.
The format of the online exams is brutally difficult. I have never been so stressed over a class in my life.
I not only took Dr. Song's lecture but worked as her SI for two semesters. Dr. Song wasn't easy, but her material could all be found in some resource that she posted on icollege. My system: 1. Do the homework reading (what she provides is more helpful than the book) 2. Do the homework 3. Review lecture notes 4. Must attend lecture YOU CAN DO IT!
1 Her video lectures are inaudible. 2) Test are not over material she provides us with. ONE WORD QUESTIONS, multiple answers . But you have to choose she doesnt tell you the question is or isnt multi select. EXTREMELY hard test considering SHE DOESNT TEACH. Show an effort email her, shell reply in 3 weeks or not at all. RUDE. NOT A PROFESSOR
The WORST professor ever. She blames you for her mistakes such as giving out test and quiz questions that were never covered in the textbook and lecture, then stating "you weren't thinking outside the box". Whenever I bring that up with a proof, she simply ignores the emails. When I finally get to talk during 1:1 office, she was passive aggressive.
The WORST professor ever. She blames you for her mistakes such as giving out test/quiz questions that were covered in neither her lectures nor textbook. When I brought them up, she simply ignored the emails. I finally got to talk to her about them in 1:1 office hour and she said "you didn't think outside the box." She was very passive aggressive.
Extremely inaccessible, exams are NOTHING like the lectures or notes and are extremely arbitrary questions, and very passive-aggressive. You'd think that professors are more lenient during a pandemic, but she is NOT one of them. PLEASE do not take this class.
This is probably one of the hardest courses I have taken in my entire academic career. She was very inaccessible and her messages are unclear. The quiz and test formatting was extremely confusing and was not beneficial. If you are enrolled in her course for this class, I suggest you try to find another professor or wait to take the course.
Good luck is all I have to say. I suggest trying to find my quizlets Ive made of majority of the questions Ive had in my semester to get a feel. She rarely reuses questions but its a start.
All I can say is avoid her at all costs
The best thing you can do for yourself is avoid this professor. She is simply an awful teacher. I have never struggled in a class like this before it is almost like she wants you to do bad. It has been nearly impossible to even pass a test after doing her awful lectures and learning the material on my own from the book. Avoid at all costs!
There is no other way to express this... it is a simple fact that she is a horrible, rude, inattentive professor. She is bad at making tests, does not know how to record the audio for her video lectures, always uses pictures that are so grimy I am sure they were made in the '50s and could not be bothered to crosscheck her questions for errors.
GARBAGE. And not in the, "its college so you're basically teaching yourself" or "its a hard topic so you have to try really hard" kind of way. I've gotten all A's (and 1 B) in ALL my science classes including Chem. I know its hard but she will make it HARDER and then not respond to emails. Save your money, she gets paid whether you pass or not.
Do NOT take Dr. Song. If you care about your GPA or your mental health then run the other way! She will never respond to any of your emails. Her tests and quizzes are mostly one-word questions with multiple select answers. Her lecture will run 30+ min overtime yet she gets annoyed that you left the Webex to attend another class. You've been warned
She teaches her Bio 1 class Biochemistry topics. The fact that I got an A in this class is 100% to do with me devoting every waking moment to it and figuring out how to decipher her convoluted questions than with her "teaching." Im studying for the MCAT now and have to reteach myself ALL Bio 1 concepts because I did not learn them from her. BEWARE!
Save yourself and stay CLEAR of her
She does not care about the students just about making sure she is right. She assigns last minute work that is not in the syllabus and expects you to do it in a timely matter. She is condescending and will fail you no problem. All of her students had to appealed their grades. Some were denied..... sorry gpa
I agree with the bad comments on here. Avoid her like the plaque. She constantly changes deadlines to make it hard for us to keep up when certain assignments are due. Her tests are mostly check boxes. If you get one part wrong, it marks the entire question wrong. And did I mention she almost never responds to any emails? Save yourself and your GPA.
This is the professor and class that made me realize that my major was not for me. She is very cocky and assumes all her students want to go to medical school (which I did not). The tests had too many questions for the time frame and had questions from MCAT and USMLE (for an intro biology class). Tests had a lot of typos and missing information!
NO! Her behavior is cocky and pretentious. She would ask questions and if no one answered, it would be quiet for however long. We all once sat in silence for 20 minutes!!! She then proceeded to get angry with us for not knowing the answer to a question she barely taught. If you take her, I suggest knowing all the information before class &... pray.
