Very scatterbrained. He asks us to read/do things before the next class and then it's never discussed again. Seems he does this just to kill time. Each exam covers 5 to 6 chapters but we don't spend much time lecturing over them. He gives a review the class before the exam and since his lectures are not very helpful BE PRESENT FOR THE REVIEW.
Signed up with Tellez and ended up with this guy because Tellez resigned 2 weeks before the semester started. Avoid this guy if you can. Never seen any professor make a class 100 times harder than its supposed to be. Lectures are pointless because none of that stuff covers the exams. He likes to tie everything with his "18 years" at Verizon.
I think Dr. Le is a nice guy, but the students were not prepared at all for the first exam. BCOM is supposed to be a common sense class, but he makes it harder than it needs to be. Read the chapters and don't study the notes from class. What you do in class is pretty much irrelevant to the exams. This is also his first year back in teaching though.
Despite being his first year back teaching, I still wouldn't recommend this professor. He's a nice guy he's just not a good professor. BCOM is supposed to be an easy A but I had to work 10x hard for an A. Tbh he should be a marketing professor because I learned absolutely nothing about BCOM. He also likes to hear himself talk a lot.
He makes a class based common sense business principles MUCH HARDER than it needs to be. He uses many opinion based questions for his exams and had multiple questions with info he admitted to be incorrect therefor he holds a post-test review session to discuss debatable questions but not more the 30% final which matters most. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE.
Really enjoyed going to his classes. Interesting professor, really cares about you.
I just took Dr. Le for the lab portion of the BCOM class. He was fine and a good teacher but then again its just a lab and there isn't much you can do.
Really cares about improving students and making the interview process easier for everyone.
Had him for my BCOM lab. Show up and its easy. Be prepared to think about yourself as a person when you are in this class. There's a required mock interview that you must go to towards the end of the semester.
Cares about Business Communication and helps students take his course seriously.
Taking BCOM 3360 with professor Le is pretty easy. I took both lab and lecture classes with him. Lots of interesting and helpful knowledge. No attendance checking. You need to read textbook and write down his lecture notes if you want a high score, but he gives huge curve for the exams anyway.
Easy A if you show up to the lab. There is an Online homework for this class that can be lengthy if you don't complete it every week but other than that it is a really easy course. Also, very helpful for any business major for the future. Highly Recommend.
Very Great professor, for lecture and lab. I would really recommend taking him again. He helps a lot with resume and cover letter. Also he is just a great professor overall, he someone that is willing to help his students anyway possible. And this class is really needed to better your understand and be in the long run.
Easy professor, allowed to miss up to 2 labs.
I had Professor Le for BCOM 3360 Lab. He was very helpful and very easy to talk to. The class was easy.
I had him for lab, very easy. Attendance is required but the class isn't too bad.
Amazing lectures, with lots of guess speaker. HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!!!!!!! HOT HOT
Cares about his students a lot, the subject itself is a little dull but he tries his best to make it interesting.
Really easy class if you show up and do the simple work that is assigned to you. The work is not hard. His lectures and guest speakers are really helpful and informational for what you will need to know in the real world.
Great professor and mentor. Give you real world examples and helps you out for future interviews. Have to show up to class because attendance matters.
Professor Le was always prepared for lab( I only had him for my lab) and gave clear instructions as to what he expected from you during the lab period.
Super caring guy, would definitely recommend.
A lot of experience in the industry.
Great professor. Great feedback.
Had him for my BCOM lab, and he was great!
The lab portion of this class is pass or fail and attendance is mandatory. I had him for both the lecture portion and the lab and loved him as a professor for both. Hes more animated in his lecture and engaging
Professor Le is a great professor and is always focused and willing to help students when needed. He is very open and professional as well. For attendance you can miss up to two classes, anything more you will fail.
Great Professor with credible real world experience and a real passion for teaching his students!
He is really organized and really informational. He has many guest speakers to which he believe you could benefit and gain from. Class work isn't that much of a load, pretty easy. Comparing my experiences with BCOM professors I would have him teach it to me again.
Great prof, makes you work but gives you plenty of chances to make up points.
His exams are pretty hard for what they should be. Hes a great guy though. Very nice and cares about his students. Loves feedback and is always willing to improve.
Not bad
Read the book before the test
always makes class interesting, not much homework, took notes during class and studied those for exam easy A
He has lots of energy and keeps the class interesting and relevant. Professor Chien brings real life examples into the class and keeps the content simple and understandable. The tests are fairly easy and any homework he assigns is also very doable. Although I knew most of this information being a graduating senior it was still great.
Tries to make lectures entertaining. Sometimes not too clear on homework assignments. However, he only takes 5 HW assisgnments.
Great professor!! Very clear with presentations and very cool dude. Gives great life advice too.
Very good professor
Professor Chien lecture are interesting and he makes them interesting. Need to be at his lectures because some materials are on his test. Read each chapter and you can pass his class. He is an amazing professor take him.
His full-semester syllabus included 3 tests (2 + Final) and 10% of randomized quiz and assignment grades. His material is updated each term and thus very original and current. Be prepared to read the book on your own time, the tests are heavy on textbook material that is not covered in class.
I took Chien for BCOM Lab and he is a pretty great professor. He's really laid back and expects the best out of his students. He encourages all his students to work hard and gives us excellent feedback in preparing for mock interviews. If i could take him for a course I would. Take him, you won't regret it.
As a person I really like this professor, although he makes BCOM much harder than what it should be. If you don't mind a ton of extra work and studying then take him, otherwise I would recommend Dr. Jordan.
attendance isnt mandatory, but exams are based on in-class material. at least one in-class assignment every two weeks (graded). test reviews are VERY similar to the material on the test. easy class if you take notes and review before test. if you plan on skipping class, might wanna get the textbook.
You can skip the textbook and get a B. Read the textbook a bit (you can find it online (PDF)) and get a B+ or A-. Im at a 89.8, waiting to see if he'll give me the A and round up. Amazing in just about every way and probably my favorite professor I've had. He really cares. It was an easy subject with almost no homework. Easy class, easy professor
Professor Le has over 20 years of industry experience that will help illustrate concepts and his class is structured to be highly applicable to everyday life. He's an incredibly charismatic and smooth man, it's obvious he's mastered his own communication skills. His lectures are entertaining and frankly he's just a blast to take.
Loved him! Took him for bcom lab and wish I would've had him for lecture too! He always made lectures interesting and was there to help if you needed it.
Class was pretty easy, especially the tests. Just use the dynamic study modules to prepare for the test. Class attendance isn't required. Only downside is he doesn't respond to emails very well. Kind of discouraging when he encourages people to email him in the first place.
This guy is okay for BCOM. 2 exams + 1 final, each worth 30%, and the other 10% are assignment, quizzes and presentation. Test is based on textbook and his lecture. Be ready to read your textbook.
Professor Le definitely knows his ins and outs of business communication. While he is a great speaker and knows what he is talking I feel that as lecture is a waste a time, as each exam is 30% of the grade you will do better skipping lecture and purely just reading the textbook. Exams are A,B,C,D & E. Which makes them that much harder than needed.
Dr. Le is a great guy. Cares about his students and a great lecturer. But I think hes just alright for BCOM and I dont think Id take him again. His tests are from the textbook but he isnt too clear on his exam reviews. Then he told us the exam has more than one right answer, choose the best one. Good guy though. Id take him again if I had to
He is a decent professor and a good speaker. But if you depend on his exam reviews for the exam, you might fail. His reviews are half-hearted and too broad to be useful ahead of exams. Apart from that, he is easy-going on the grading of assignments and most of them (apart from the presentation) are completion grades. Average professor.
Professor Le is a great professor. His class include some good guest speakers. I took him for May semester. It was 2 weeks class but it was great. His reviews are just the pages you need to study and pages you need not to study. 1 presentation and 2 exams. Easy grader. Attendance for lab is mandatory.
At first glance you'd think he's a good professor but don't be fooled by his fake mask. He takes a very long time to update grades, he shows little to no compassion in helping students and can be very stern with his grading. Don't take him unless you have to
Mr. Le is a magnificent professor who takes his time to break everything down. He is always there if you have any questions and he is lenient on grading too. Take him and if you show up to class every day, an A or B is a certainty.
Best professor I've taken at UTA. Highly professional & also very generous with grading. If you show him the effort all semester, he usually helps you a little with the grade curving. For those who're not great at public speaking, this is the professor to take. He will not put bad pressure on you and you might not even have to do the presentation
Great professor and the idle choice for BCOM class. He gives you the info you need in the business world and he also gives you enough info to pass the class with A or B. Took him for maymester and still made a B without even having to do the powerpoint presentation
chien Le is very easy going but also a great professor who knows his stuff when it comes to business communication. He gives you a clear grading criteria and he is very kind with grading too. He curved on every exam for us.
Great Professor! You will learn a lot if you go to class and listen. If you do the work, you will get an A! I used what I learned from him in a job interview and they hired me. Do be afraid to ask him questions, he will gladly answer them. Also, ask him for help anytime with your resume, cover letter, or LinkedIn he will give you great feedback.
His lectures are pretty good and straight forward. However, his exams are way more difficult than one would think. If you want a good grade on the exams, you HAVE to read the textbook. All exams are multiple choice but sometimes there will be more than one correct answer choice. It's up to you to choose the "best" answer...
Professor Le is officially my favorite teacher at UTA. His lectures are so interesting, he has truly mastered communication skills, and is sooo SMOOTH. His personal style & teaching style go hand in hand. The lecture is easy. He does exam reviews days before the exam so that's great. The lab is easy, attendance is the main grade. Just show up.
I took mark 3321 with him on fall 2019, he is good grader and provides you with lots of opportunities to pass or get a good grade. He does average and curve your exams scores. I will suggest you this professor for best learning outcomes.
If you have anxieties. Don't take this class! Takes forever to grade & post. Never responds to emails. Gives eloquent lectures. Exams are difficult for a standard MARK class. Gives reviews but it's NOT helpful on all 3 exams worth 30% of grade & all scenario base w/50 questions. Group presesntation & REP worth 5%. Does not give homework-only plus.
I had Professor Le for the lab section of BCOM and it has been the easiest class I've taken. Lab was mostly guess speakers or time to finish assignments. A mock interview is the basically the main assignment to be done to pass the class. Le is also very helpful and loves to answer any questions regarding resumes, interviews, etc.
He is very passionate about marketing and his lectures are great, but I think he would be better as a coach or mentor than a professor. He is unorganized and instructions are unclear sometimes. He does curve test and has opportunities for extra credit. His lectures are full of great knowledge for the outside world, but are sometimes useless on test
3 exams, some group assignments, his exams are mostly over his lecture so it's a wise option to attend class. He gives really good advice on professionalism and your resume so try not to throw away the class. Dont really need the book, if you take good notes you can just study those and you'll be fine for the exams. He gives reviews but its vague.
Professor Le teaches using a real life approach. His lectures and assignments focus on real life situations or things that will help you when searching and applying for a job. He doesn't post his PowerPoints so attend class. His tests are not difficult but it's wise to read the book (each chapter is about 6 pages long). He is clear and concise.
He is very passionate about marketing and gives amazing lectures. Prof. Le makes the class engaging and enforces participation. Class is completely based on exams which can be difficult but includes some curving. Study and you will get at least a B. Oh and he does take forever to put in the grades lol
He was a good professor, made class fun. Grades consisted of REP surveys, 2 quizzes (1 got canceled bc of covid) and the rest allocated to the tests. The tests were not hard, the material of the class in general is not hard. There was a small group presentation, lasted about 3 minutes for each group.
Took his class during Summer II, and it was easier then expected. Read the chapters assigned and watched his lectures, also used mind tap to help with conceptual questions. Only thing to worry about is the grading , one HW 5%, first exam 45%, and final 50%.
Took Bcom lab with him. Easy A! Assignments very easy! Just meet deadline! 1 in person class (covid restrictions) Overall, I would take him again.
Great guy! He knows how to talk & is experienced in marketing. Helps build your resume & relates lectures to the real world. Study review key points and read the chapters. Definitely would recommend.
Gives a lot of good tips for interviews and building your resume. Overall great professor and individual.
I've had Professor Le for three different classes, all about the same layout. Reading, lectures and 3 exams. Very rare to have an assignment but mostly counts for extra credit. Always cares for students and how he can help them. Offered internship help and course for credit in summer/fall! Check it out
Cool guy, great lectures, very fair test but dear god why does he take so long to grade? Its 2021 and he still test on paper and uses scantron like canvas is isnt RIGHT there
Dr Le has a great system for lab. He puts up assignments for us to really listen to the people that have made it big in business and questions us on how we can imitate or change any of what was said. We also had a mock interview project and a resume in person lecture. Definitely would love for him to teach any other class. Only fail if you slack.
Don't know where to begin. This Digital Marketing class was a complete joke. We learned nothing. His favorite word is relevant but none of the lectures were relevant. He teaches the same topics using same outdated PPT's from his other classes. He never posted promised materials on Canvas. Unorganized, chaotic & winged everything. 3 exams worth 96%
He's egotistical. You will hear "relevant" and "internship" the whole duration of the class because he's the director of the program. Class teaches nothing about business com, straight UNIV. Its all cover letter and resume. "knowing your audience" he preaches but pays little attention to doing that himself. Suffocating.
He's a really engaging lecturer. Exams are heavily weighted. I absolutely despise the book. It's super bloated and a hassle to get the information you need through all the fluff they use to pad the it out. Online version UI is a poor design
His lectures are not at ALL relevant to the exams or anything you need to know to pass the course. He just rambles and talks about things and takes up time. The book and his review will get you through the exams. This class is nothing but a platform to talk about him and everything he has "achieved" at UTA. He's friendly, though.
Attendance isnt mandatory, but sometimes it does help to be in class to understand what hes talking about. He gives a list of items to study as a review, but gives a curve!! which was helpful, his assignments are great and so easy! definitely an easy grader and was easy to reach out to.
Chien Le is one of the nicest professors I've had! Lectures aren't mandatory, but it is beneficial to go because it helps on tests. I suggest buying the book and reading the chapters for tests, it's only a couple paragraphs. This helped me get an A! Theres only two test and one project, which are all fairly easy. Take his lab too, its very easy!
He is a great professor. The only issue I had was that there were only a few ways to get a high grade since he did not offer any additional extra credit opportunities. Read the textbook since some of the testing material derives from it.
This professor is genuinely my favorite professor ever and I have so much respect for him. His lectures aren't mandatory but its super beneficial to go to, since what he teaches is what is on the test. I personally enjoyed going to his lectures and he seems passionate on what he is teaching and passionate for his students to understand the class.
I took Professor Le last semester (Fall 2023). He was an incredible professor. He was caring, knew the material, and was extremely credible. His lectures were very informative, so I did not look at the textbook much other than for key terms. Would highly recommend him, especially for this course. The assignments were light and only 2 exams.
Im sure hes a great BCOM professor, but not so much with principals of marketing. He never seemed prepared and everything he taught was all over the place. Could talk a lot about a topic but it would never make sense. 3 tests that are 90% of your grade. Hes alright but wouldn't recommend if you want to learn.
I took Professor Le for BCOM-Lab and he was good! He's very knowledgeable about his profession and lectures on about what you already learned in BCOM. If you do his assignments (which are extremely easy), you'll ace the class. :D
Extroverted and friendly, promotes participation. Bulk of grade is determined by MC exams, reviews are provided. Textbook is useful for studying for exams. A few brief writing assignments spread out over the semester, graded for completion. Required participation in departmental REP studies, finish early. Available by email for questions.
The EASIEST professor ever for a lab. You don't need to come to class but he will tell you what specific days you need to for attendance purposes. Barely any homework it was like write three bullet points about a 5-minute YouTube video. The easiest A you will get in your life, so enjoy it! I skipped all his classes and got an A!
Most of the assignments were a completion grade and his lectures were very good. As a professor, he has a good way of presenting lectures. For attendance, he only requires you to be physically present in class on important days. Recommended!
great lab professor, always happy. assignments were easy and could be done with tin less than an hour
