This professor is has a great sense of humor and makes the class fun. He grades very easy, I do not see how anyone gets less than an A in his class. Only downside is lots of group work. Try to take this class with a friend!
Very nice guy and was very good to all the students. Only criticism is the book they use for this class. It basically bashes any type of world view except Christianity. Other than that, Chip was a solid teacher.
Sweetest guy on the planet. Very passionate about the subject and made class fun everyday! Would totally recommend him to anyone.
Awesome teacher! He is very passionate about what he teaches and turns his class room into a ministry. Even though we were in O.T. he was able to make it practical for our own ministry.
Mr Chip Lamca was a great professor, he made class very interesting and fun. He has a lot of knowledge and great stories to tell. He is super funny which is a plus. He is also very helpful and down to earth. The content of the class was great but I felt like we didn't use the books very much. Overall, he was great his stories made a difference.
Great Professor
Profe Lamca's class can be difficult because his due dates and test dates are never set in stone so attendance is basically mandatory so you don't miss anything. The tests sometimes cover things we hadn't been taught or told to read. The grading is pretty fair. He shares some good stories and the class was really interesting!
Here is a professor who does what he loves and loves what he does. He is inspirational in the things he shares in class and is practical in the content of the class. Yes there are a few books for this class, but I still refer back to them even after a few years.
This teacher changed my life! Love him! He makes his class fun and entertaining. A lot of times class will only last like 20-30 minutes. Assignments are super easy.
Lamca is so awesome. He's hilarious and really loves what he does. Half the time in class he just told stories and showed videos.. It's a really easy A, but I did learn valuable lessons in that class that will stick with me. If I could have him for a teacher again I would. His aid, Mark Walth, is very sweet also.
He is an awful professor. It is a 300 level class and treats it like we are 16 years old - way to easy. So easy to the point that you almost don't learn anything and for a Christian Worldview class on a Christian campus, I was definitely expecting more.
Chip is an awesome professor! You can tell he loves what he do and he seems like he is always in a good mood which rubs off on his students. Easy class, but you do learn a lot of valuable stuff in this class. Quiz every other week and also a project (usually a group project). Take Chip for CWV if you can, you will not regret it.
Chip was my favorite professor this semester. Funny, inspiring, and ready to teach! He makes some essays into group projects and his test are not that bad just do his study guide and you'll be ok. Really down to Earth and has some interesting stories to share. He would be happy to answer any questions you have. Really wish more profs were like him.
I really enjoyed taking Christian Worldview with "Profe". He is a really nice person who really has your best interest in mind. He cares about each and every one of his students. He is very flexible and as long as you're on his good side! He loves Jesus so much and you will enjoy his class.
Great professor, makes a 2 hr. tue/thurs class seem way shorter then a hour mon/wed/fri class. his class is super easy and he is pretty funny, definitely take his course.
He is an awesome teacher that cares about his students. Quizzes are not hard if you pay attention. They are very understanding if you are not there for whatever reason.
Awesome Professor ! ... this is all I have to say
Chip is a really cool guy and is always there for you! You have a quiz every two weeks and they are easy as long as you read the chapter and do the study guide. He grades pretty fair but I got points off because he didn't like the way I worded something but it was only two points.
Chip is a great guy! definitely a highlight of my semester. He will teach you quite a bit, but will tell you awesome stories about his life too. His lectures were not long at all, just make sure you have some friends in your class with you. I would definitely have him again!
He is an amazing professor. He made the class very enjoyable!
He was super funny and such a great professor! He was so respectful to people with different views; he very rarely held us the whole period (T/Th). Would 100% recommend!
Profe was one of my favorite professors ever! He truly cares about his students, teaches multiple perspectives and allows for debate and discussion, and uses hilarious anecdotes to make lectures interesting. The papers aren't too bad, and there aren't too many of them. Plus he plays silent movies on exam days for those who finish quickly!
If you have the option to take his class, DO IT!!!! If you read the online lectures and textbook, you won't get behind if you miss a class although participation may be deducted. He is an amazing professor who cares about his students and often ends class early.
I absolutely love Profe (what he asks us to call him). He truly cares if we pass or not. His quizzes are short, bi-weekly, and multiple choice! If you need help, ask him in person because he is not the best at replying through loud cloud. In person, however, he is extremely helpful in answering any and all questions. Take his class!!!
He is an easy professor, who usually makes assignments easier. He really understands not everyone is a Christian, so he does not put pressure on "converting" people. He makes class fun, and would let us out half an hour early for our class (two days a week).
This is a one of the few professors I get along with. He is generous on grading if situations come up and will allow for extensions if needed. I suggest taking him if you want to understand Christianity from a worldview perspective and have talks outside of class if needed. His office is always open to students and is welcoming to all. Great man!
He does not give any clear directions on what the projects are going to be about.
Good Professor, cares about what he is teaching. Very clear about what is expected. He likes class participation. Talks about living in Peru. Grades fairly. Will get mad if students make a habit of leaving early or not showing up. Good at answering questions after class. Mostly reading textbook, lectures, quizzes, essays & Kahoot!
Solid choice. Over-sized white man who calls himself profe, Spanish for professor, so if thats your thing go for it. He gets annoyed if you skip too much or leave early. Really cares about his students and is nice enough to talk to.
Super easy class, you learn a lot and the study guides are really all you need to know for the quiz. Good with extensions if something comes up and as long as you explain, he'll be lenient with you. Some essays are group projects instead, and the essays you do write aren't bad. Pretty easy grader and very funny, plus he really cares for you.
Loves Peru. Loves starbucks. Loves his students. I end up talking to him after class a lot of times cause I like talking to him about his beliefs and stuff he talked about. He's a real genuine dude. I'd hangout with him outside of class if I could.
Awesome prof, really cares about students
Chip is awesome, you can tell he loves what he does. Lectures are heavy but don't let that discourage you because the class is not all that hard. Chip doesn't shove Christianity down your throat, rather he teaches you what having a Christian Worldview, if you don't know anything about christianity, don't worry he will teach you a lot!
Profe really loves his job. He knows it is only to inform you about Christianity not to make you believe in it. He is very good at engaging the class.
Instead of papers, he assigns group projects which is great. The group projects are easy and worth a lot of points. He provides review guides before the quizzes (Every other Friday) and if you do the review guides you will pass the quizzes. Only one exam (The final). Lectures are personable. Highly recommend, and is an easy A as long as you show up
"Profe" is what he goes by. Was such a great and caring professor that teaches a very easy, yet very interesting subject. Prays for his students and is always available to help you after class. I would definitely take him again, but unfortunately I'm not a theology major so won't get the chance to.
He cares about all of his students. He has amazing stories about his missions work in Peru, and is a huge Steelers fan. Changes assignments all the time for your benefit.
Incredible professor. Very caring. He does change the assignments to make it easier on you and is clear on what he wants. Its not a hard class, and its not hard to pass with an A if you put in the right effort. I had other really hard classes and this class was a stress free one. Easy and a great professor.
he is one of the best professors he really cares for his students. Also, call him profe and no not call him by his first name. tests and quizzes are so easy just study and you will pass.
one of the best professors at GCU he is caring and his lectures are fun. Be careful of the quizzes but they are really easy just study the chapters and you will be fine
Great professor, engages the class well and keeps students on their toes. I learned a lot.
Chip is a really great guy with a heart of God. He really knows what he's talking about and shows that through his story telling. His course isn't difficult and the chapters are an easy read. Go into his class with an open mind and see what happens
I loved having Lamca. The class was very enjoyable and simple. Lamca is caring for his students and wants everyone to be successful. He altered some assignments to make it easier on students. He also makes quizzes very non-stressful, which I always appreciated. I highly recommend him!
profe lamca is the best professors on campus he is funny and his Peru stories makes the class more interesting. Quizzes are fair and the final exam is a little hard 36 questions but you have to work for it to get an A.
Professor Lamca is amazing! He tells us stories about his life experiences that relate to the current topic being discussed. Also, the quizzes are self-checked so you know which ones you got right or wrong right away. If I could take him again, I would!
Awesome
Good class, but can get boring. Has a mix of group assignments and individual assignments. Attendance definitely matters, but it is an easy A.
Chip is such a nice person. He really is very understanding and easy to work with. It does require some effort, so like it's not entirely a class where you can sit your head down and still get an A. but it's not too difficult. Chip makes it really nice.
Mr. Lamca was an amazing professor. All of his lectures were filled with jokes, but also some really amazing and thought-provoking messages. I would take his class again even if I wouldnt receive credit for it.
This professor did not lecture on the topics. This made the quizzes difficult to pass unless you actually read the textbook. I would not recommend this professor if you are not motivated to go to class. Skipping costs you points but the class is not interesting at all.
He is a super easy going teacher, his TA's grade harder than he does. The lectures are pretty boring but the quizzes are easy. Also the writing assignments usually get modified to easier things. This class is an easy A
Super easy going although he tends to talk about personal stories quite often. Most of the assignments get modified to much easier terms so show up to class and you should be fine. Although, he doesn't lecture often so read the book and the study materials provided to you. IA's were super helpful with assignments and any confusion someone may have.
Prof. Lamca is the dept. head, and he is a really nice guy. However, he barely covered the material and tended to ramble on about personal stories instead. It was boring and most everyone skipped as much as we could without failing. Honestly, though, it was easy to pass and for what the class is P. Lamca isn't bad.
He goes by "profe" FYI. He's a great professor. He cares about missions and has a lot of knowledge and experience. He's a great resource and person to learn from.
Awful professor. You should expect more from a Professor who is the head of the Christian worldview department. He is lazy, makes assignment changes constantly so he doesn't have to grade as much. If he misses class, it's no big deal, but if we miss it's the end of the world. Laughs at students when asked questions. Gives irrelevant assignments.
He is just plain amazing
Profe is really nice and might not have always filled the curriculum but if you attend class you should pass. He adjusted assignments directions/due dates in class so make sure you are there and on time. I felt I was always unprepared for the quizzes but helped us out if he didn't review certain ideas. Might not but an EASY A but a very doable A.
Professor Lamca was a great teacher to have. He cares deeply about the class and sets everyone up for success. Theres a quiz every other week that will be an easy A if you show up to class and read the material. He is also very funny and reminds me of Indiana Jones.
When students ask questions he talks to them like they are stupid and uses random and metaphors/stories every time that have nothing to do with the question. I did not like him, and his lectures were boring and dragged on and on.
Professor Lamca is a pretty good professor for a class you want an easy-A in. There's a decent amount of reading to do for assignments but other than that not too much work. My only complaint is how boring the lectures could get, especially when they weren't necessarily relevant for any upcoming work or benchmarks. However, he is a funny & nice guy
Professor Lamca was a professor that was kinda all over the place. He talks about Peru a lot, but he was a nice professor. He cares a lot for his students but the grading with him and the TA's are not similar, something to be careful of.
Professor Chip is a cool guy who understands the course material well; however as the class went on lectures became less and I had to find more information on my own. Kind of similar setup to a high school class but the assignments are easy. All quizzes are open note/book/bible but I suggest using the study guide beforehand. Often rewards in class!
I enjoyed every moment of this class as profe would use his life experiences to give us a better understanding of the topic. I highly recommend this professor.
Professor Lamca really cares about his student and really wants everyone to succeed. As long as you put in effort and show up its not hard to get an A.
The professor is very knowledgeable as he is open about his missionary work and time as a pastor before his time being a professor at GCU. He is big on reading the topic overview and assigned chapters for the quizzes and he heavily relies on group projects. The professor is always ready to help out.
One of the easiest graders and has the easiest quizzes and tests. Gave a very clear understanding of the Christian worldview and was understanding that not everyone came from that background. 10/10 would recommend
Lamca is the nicest dude you will meet. He understands not everyone at GCU is a Christian and is very respectful of that. He makes class usually one day of lecture and the next a quiz or just talks to his students about God and Christianity. I went to a private high school and got more out of this class then I did my 4 years of Bible classes.
Profe Lamca was one of the nicest professor ive had, he understands that things come up and truly wants all of his students to succeed in his class, I would definetley recommend taking Profe Lamca if you want to have a great classroom experience to start your journey at GCU.
Such a nice professor. He really cares about his students and wants them to pass. He says participation matters but he doesn't take it. You can use notes and your bible on quizzes so they're super easy. LOTS of group projects but they're not as bad cause sometimes you won't have to present.
Professor Lamca is such a caring professor, the material is super hard but he is passionate about it and he cares for his students.
Professor Lamca is very passionate about Christ and is knowledgable, though he tends to struggle to give the information to the class. He talks about his mission trips and his church a lot and most of the information for quizzes/tests are straight from the book. His assignments are all open book/note/internet so they're easy. Lots of group projects
10/10! He would answer any questions and was a very forgiving grader, recognized students may have many different backgrounds with religions and respected everyone while staying personally connected with each student. The only downside was I never learned anything new and was told more stories but I definitely would still recommend
the goat, get him for christian worldview
He's a nice guy and means well but so brutal. He always had his IA teach and one time asked someone to translate the lecture bc he was sick and thinks better in spanish??? yeah idek either. overall easy course but wouldn't suggest him
very chill teacher, easy grader, inspirational, funny, quizzes and test are open note and open textbook/bible
He is such a nice man! He truly cares, and wants God to be the light. He talks a lot about personal experience, and has dad humor. He often gives random incentives when in class, and does gives points daily for participation. Quizzes are all open note. Group projects are nice, only worry about yourself. Be confident when talking to him.
Chip Lamca was an amazing professor
Loved him so much, super funny and very kind! Easy class to pass if you just go to class and do the work.
Fairly relaxed class, he is a good storyteller, fair grader, and understanding professor. We never stayed a full class period, most of them didn't even last a full hour so it was nice to be released early.
He is the BEST if you want stories and an easy A. Most days you won't be in class an hour. But this class is a joke if you want to learn from a scholar or an academic expert. I was bored to death. I'd rather get a C from a hard professor than an A in a class that's easier than VBS.
He talks a lot and will take up your time with telling stories about his life. Don't take if you can't speak in front of the class. Tests were easy
Talks more than he teaches. Very opinionated. Kinda cocky. But an easy A and all tests are open book.
Professor Lamca was overall good, but he talked more about his personal life than the lecture itself. He would also give us assignments that were clearly above our knowledge regarding the Christian worldview and expected us to figure it out. Overall, I would recommend him as a professor but I would recommend improving things as well.
Very solid teacher, the class was very easy and the tests were very basic and simple. He make the class fun and easy.
He was one of the best professors I have had so far at GCU. You may not be a Christian and have to take this class and he is very understanding towards those people. For those who are believers he is passionate about his faith. Overall an easy class and he helps so much to make sure you get the best grade.
One of the best professors I have had a GCU! At first I was a little skeptical, but his class is now my favorite! He has such a heart for missions, and he will tell you lots of his past stories. Most classes are an hour at max. He really cares about his students, and he makes sure that every student does their part in group assignments!
Super super easy class! Test are open not open book open everything. Allot of group assignments but they aren't bad at all. Definitely recommend taking this class with this professor
this class was a piece of cake and the professor understands that it's a required course so he is very laid back and class is basic knowledge and common sense. quizzes are online and open everything! definitely recommend.
Profe is awesome, and he is such an easy professor to listen to. He is very laid back and he is very understanding. He cares about his students a ton. I would recommend him, and take him again if I get the opportunity.
Profe was awesome! He is super laid back because he understands it is a required class, so makes it very easy with open book quizzes and exams! There is a lot of group projects, but they are super easy to complete. Overall, take him for Christian worldview!
He is great!
Had him for a 7am, and he made it worth showing up on time. Loved his teaching style, but unfortunately only had half a semester. He shared stories, gave us the info we needed, and made all of the quizzes completely open. Open notes, open topic overview (covers literally everything taught), and open bible. Has a few easy group projects.
