Really really organised. She really cares about her job and gives her home phone number as well as her personal email address to students. She spends time outside of her office hours to help those who need it. If you want an A, you can get it if you try.

This teacher is one of the worst teachers that i have had. She's late to school sometimes why can't she accept our homework 5 minutes late. That laugh is hideous and has to go!!! Not everything is funny.Does she have a life???? I DON'T THINK SO.

She has points when she says something. Just make sure that you read your textbook, and your notes + HW. that will help a lot.if you're confused/unsure, don't hesitate to go to her office hour. She'll do anything she can to help, and trust me she's pretty good in pointing your weak point. sometimes there are though words, but it's okay, good point

She's a very good-hearted person. Yes, a little "different" but in a nice way. However, she assumes you know or have a background already in the subject. Sometimes she seems to be talking about chapters not even yet covered. Other people seem to be able to follow her just fine. Her teaching style isn't for everyone.

she's pretty easy cus she gives you ALL the stuff you need to know for the tests in the notes and homework..no surprises. she seems very helpful and easy to approach if you need help. i'm not good at chem but i did good in her class, so i highly recommend you take her. oh and i don't think i ever really looked at the textbook cus her notes are good

Chem isn't easy to everyone but Emetarom's clarity & dedication in helping students understand makes it easy. She'll answer all your questions patiently! Our class average for the first test was 90-something % & for the second, a high 80%. THAT IS AN INCREDIBLE AVERAGE FOR A TEST. She is the best teacher I've ever had! No book, just use her notes.

Awesome teacher!!! a lot of work but in a way that will help u not overwhelm u. she's always happy to help. makes the class easy. tests are easy if u do homeworks and handouts. Mult choice might be hard somteimes tho. n not to forget her funny lovely character. Amazing!!

She's nice, but it takes her FOREVER to grade labs and tests. By the middle of the term, you still don't know your grade. She doesn't curve or drop any tests, and she assumes everyone took CHEM 300. So if you're taking CHEM 400 because you met the H.S. pre-reqs. DO NOT TAKE HER. She will not REVIEW anything. Half of the class failed.

AWESOME! Just study all your lecture notes, do all your homeowork and labs and you will do well. I didn't even read the book, only use it for clarification purposes and ended up aceing ALL her tests. Total of 5 tests /extra credit on all + one comprehensive final. Only con is she does take a LONG time to grade and she does not review materials.

She doesn't teach very well, you basically have to self teach. She expects the students to already know more than she does. She sometimes doesn't know what she's talking about, and she even goes over time. Her tests don't relate to her lectures, unless you do some self learning on your own time. DONT TAKE THIS TEACHER.

okay, so I'm taking back what I said on 5/2/08.. aced tests 1-4 but didn't ace test 5 or final and still got an A. all I gotta say is study hard for last test and final because as a class average they were most difficult. also ask specifically what will be on the final because although comprehensive, not everything was there. overall, good teacher.

Started the semester with a full class with people on the waitlist. At the end of the term there was only 8 people left and those were the ones who took chem 300 or is retaking chem 400. She is hard and expects you to know everything before hand. Take her only if you're good at chemistry.

Cool instructor! She always reminds students that she is available if they need help. I took this class half of a semester with another instructor who expected everyone to be at his level! Her teaching methods are a lot easier to understand. I wish she was teaching my other science classes!

I do not recommend her for CHEM400. Her lectures are quite confusing and she tends to linger on a particular subject too long. Take HODAPP instead, he might be scary but his lectures are precise and comprehendable.

Good: Go to office hours. Passionate about the subject. BAD: Tests are HARD fail 2=drop. Lectures are confusing and hard to follow. She tends to ramble or going into detail too excessively leaving you confused.(biggest issue) Very time consuming class. Take class with a smart friend or sign up for tutoring and for sure go to her office hours.

For all those who say Ms. E is a bad teacher for CHEM 400, they are just a bunch of dumb losers. Chem is really a tough subject, which makes many think that the teacher is not doing a good job when they get a D-ish or C-ish grade. She's actually good and her tests are reasonable. If you just read the book, listen to her, and do the HW, youll b fine

This class is ALOT of work. Hmwk due 2X a week. Tests are long, tedious and don't prep u well for ACS tests. Lab's worth alot so do all lab work. Bombed 2 tests and the final. Would've had a B if I turned all lab reports in. She's very nice and approachable, but after taking CHEM 401 with another prof., realized she doesn't prepare you very well.

I kind of regret taking her. Her lectures are all over the place, and she tends to ramble on about a particular subject. She gives you a long study guide for the tests, but the test has basically nothing to do with the homework. The labs are really easy, though. Take her if you really understand Chem.

Nice lady...she just can't teach. Her lectures go all over the place and she contradicts herself alot. Be warned: tests are nothing like the review packets. Office hours are a must. Her teaching methodes leave something to be desired. Very few people are left standing after her class. Good Luck!

Hardest class I have ever taken. I do not suggest taking it if you are not willing to commit to getting help from Prof. Prof E is extremely knowledgable in what she does, and super tight on grading. There is no room for error in this class.

DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER! Her homework problems have nothing to do with the tests. Homework is fairly easy but her tests are super hard which is why most people do bad on them. We started out with a class of 100. At the end, only 30 were left. =/ 'take her. Does not drop any tests!

This is a tough class but definitely do-able. I took chem in high school in h.s and got C's, but did well in this class. Try to read the chpters b4 lecture. Do all hw and worksheets. For the tests go over the prior hw, practice probs in the back, the worksheet and lecture notes and you'll do fine. She's nice and is willing to help.

decent teacher, if you study hard in the beginning and get the fundamentals you should be able to pass the class, however if you get behind its hard to catch up, she grade kinda tuff, but there are a lot of homework assingnments and points out there where if you bomb a test you can still pass the class, attendence is taken at every class,hard tests

She is a nice teacher, but her teaching is not nice at all. Each of the test has at least three to four chapters included. You can't make mistakes on the test otherwise u will fail it. I recommand 2 hours of study after each lecture if u want to pass. If you can't do that, you will fail. Semester end with 3-4 tests in 3-4 week straight! scary

No one got an 'A'. Started with 40 people, and ended w/ 15. Only 3 people have a potential low B, but since the 200 pt final was today, that may or may have not changed. If you're not struggling for a B, you're struggling for a C. It's a hard class. You have to KNOW the material to be safe, step by step and definition for definition. Good luck...

She's a really nice lady and wants you to succeed. Plenty of character when she teaches. She's passionate about chemistry... but those exams killed me. There is room for a lot of errors on the exams. There was online homework due twice a week, labs, lab reports, and a lot of cram study in for the exams. It's a lot of work. Good luck!!

In order to pass and understand chem you need to read the textbook period in any chem class and she tells you that the first day and i passed the class with an A+ and all i did is take notes,read the text and do hw. all the others who complain about her are the ones who dont try and blaim her cause they did not try at all

This class is impossible! She is very unclear in her lectures and assumes the entire class knows the topics already. She seems annoyed if you ask for help, even during office hours. You will need to work hard to pass this class. I passed chemistry classes in high school with A's but I am in danger of failing her class!

Honestly speaking, if you want an A don't take this class. I have a high B in the class because I took AP chemistry in HS. Her hw is harder than her lec examples and her tests are harder than the hw. She always seem like she running out of time in lec, seems very unorganize and it takes her a while to get the grade ready!

Honestly, avoid her class. Gave HW then lectured on material after it was due. Didn't have everything graded by end of semester, no one knew their grades. Taught things out of order. Holds you late A LOT. Tests were harder than anything we had seen in lecture and HW, sometimes stuff we hadn't seen at all. HW is long and only worth 3 pts. Just don't

Very unorganized, not helpful during or outside of class, changes exam time. She obviously hasn't read or understand the text book to actually lecture about it. We have students trying to teach one another about the materials during lecture and lab, but then she gets anal about it!

This professor is heartless. Don't take her unless you plan on failing. The semester started off with 55+ students and it dropped down to 15 students. She does not accept late arrivals or does not let students leave early. Not even 5 miutes earlier. She does not teach well. Majority of the class time you'll hear her laugh to herself. Loser.

I <3 her. Memorization is expected, that's the only hard part. She regularly stayed over an hour late (to midnight!) so students could finish lab. Genuinely loves her subject. Great lectures. Looking for GE? RUN. Planning to transfer to a major university in science or engineering? She'll prepare you. I got a solid A, so it's definitely possible.

WONDERFUL professor! I had weak chemistry skills coming into her class, but now feel very confident in them. Despite the fact that I nearly failed chemistry in HS, I am doing well in her class. Her explanations make sense, and she makes the class fun with her lively, energetic attitude. I just wish I could take her for all my chemistry classes!

If you're a nice person you'll probably like and relate to her. Sometimes things she explains don't click, but its a high level chem class; that's what the book is for. She'll forget to mention things due, but its in the syllabus. Super nice. Always willing to help in office hours. Really cares about students and their future. But tests are hard.

College Chem is a challenge, regardless of the teacher, it is a tough subject... BUT, Ms. E breaks it down in English (even for people like me who haven't taken a science class in over a decade). This is a class that you should NOT miss becz her instruction and your notes are what get you through. She knows her subject and is a fair grader, exams hold no surprises. Just take clear notes, study a lot (it is Chem) and don't miss.

Disorganized. Lazy. Complains. Focuses too much on simple concepts and skips over more complicated ones. Does not return exam/lab scores. Waits until the last minute to post homework. She is ridiculous! Take a different professor. Her exams are relatively simple but you must study ALOT on your own to score well.

When it comes to Ms. E. She can take things very slow. It's true that she takes forever to grade things. Her tests aren't that bad. Easy if you expose yourself to the material. It seems like she doesn't like to do much outside of class. Has her TA do everything. She is really nice. Good personality for the most part but teaching can use improving.

Practice, practice, practice the math problems! That's the only way to pass the tests which are hard! Prepare to be mentally drained after each lecture/lab! She usually continues lecture in lab so 2 1/2 of lecture total. If you can't follow along in lecture, thoroughly read the book! She recommends you to visit her during office hours so do it!

Gives last minute homework by email. Very unorganized. Tests are much harder than work covered in class. Spends entire class time on one one problem. Tests are long, quite impossible to score well if your first time. Recommend only if retaking class.

The best chem professor i ever had learned so much from her, had no idea what chem is before getting her class, have a B right now but that’s because i work and have 3 other classes and couldn’t study as much for her test. Take her you won’t regret she is not unorganized like some students say because she always lets you know everything on time.

She is very passionate about the subject, but her teaching methods are subpar at best; she becomes very disorganized. Her exams are difficult, the lectures dont really help, it's better to learn from the actual text itself. She offers help through office hours, and interest in attending class depends on your personal interest in Chemistry.

The best word to describe Prof E is "fair." Her exams are very similar to that of the homework problems, but they still end up being a bit tricky. Labs are fairly easy, you follow the lab manual verbatim. She's very helpful and enthusiastic; if I had one complaint, it would be that her office hours are too short, which has discouraged me to go.

This class was hard. She spent a lot of time going over concepts in class but the examples did not seem to translate well to her tests. She gives out a study guide before each exam though, and there will be questions from that guide on the rest so work the problems! The homework isn't worth a lot of points and it costs money, which I didn't like.

One of the best professors i've taken at CRC. attendance IS mandatory! if you dont show up, you dont understand. But she is extremely clear in the material. Her finals are insainly hard but the rest of the class is not too bad.

Professor Emetarom really puts the effort out there for her students. She is very approachable and has the most patience I have ever seen from a professor. Chemistry is simply a hard subject to learn. It truly takes hours of studying or it wont stick. Her office hours are great I encourage students to go to them.

Goes super slow. The final was redic, because the last month is crammed with all the info we NEEDED to know before moving on... 4 whole units in one month. Doesn't prepare well, get's off track a lot. If you plan to go onto Ochem or higher, find another professor. Lab exam is craycray, many dropped after the lab exam final.. yes, dropped at the end

She's really unorganized. She forgets when tests are. Like any other science class, you have to study hard to get an A. It's just harder in this class because she's really confusing. I suggest studying with the Mastering Chemistry assignments and doing study groups. She's a really nice person though and she will willingly help you if you ask.

Chitoh is a very caring and nice professor which is great..... but here comes the bad part. She gets soooo beind on the syllabus. For example instead of being on chapter 11 she would still be on chapter 9. Then to make it worse she speeds it up at the end so you have to catch up like its your fault. Whoever likes order and plans, don't take her.

What can I say about her that hasn't already been said? She is always willing to help whenever you need it and always encourages students to come to her office hours. While all those things are great-- what really matters most, to me at least, is organization and staying on track which she doesn't really do. We were SO behind. It was very stressful

You must be proactive and keep yourself accountable in this class. Do not expect to be on pace with the initial schedule she posts. She will fall behind, so it's really on you to be on top of the work. Use the textbook and MasteringChemistry, know the concepts and more importantly, do lots of problems. Her lecturing was of little help to me.

Now she's cramming the last few chapters in for the final. I have an A but the way she teaches isn't that good.

We were on schedule up to the first test and then after that we ended up falling about a month behind. Syllabus planned for us to take four tests and she removed one since we were so far behind. Didn't fall behind in lab for some reason. Didn't know our grade going into our final exam and we learned three chapters in the last week or two.

So when I first started the semester I thought with the way she teaches oh this will be an easy A, wrong. First off, we were 2 months behind schedule!! This professor is really unorganized and can also be rude at times. Attendance is mandatory. Her teaching method is very scattered, more than half the class is failing or on the verge. Her lectures are really boring plus she always goes over the scheduled time and will yell at you if you leave even though class is over. Don't take this professor!

She is very unorganized, we have a final in a week, and we still have not covered the last three chapters that much. She skipped the third exam and made that into a quiz. Overall, I never paid attention to her lectures, and read the book. The book is amazing, I only went to lecture for points. It's a stressful class, but she's a great professor tho

Honestly, Professor E. is absolutely amazing! One of the most caring professors, if not the most caring! This class seems hard, but if you just do all the practice she gives out, you'll be just fine. Really, the key for this class is PRACTICE all the handouts. Her lectures are always fun, she's very intelligent!

We have two weeks left until finals and we've yet to finish electro-chemistry or been given back our FIRST graded lab report, which was turned in 3 months ago, to use to benchmark our final TWO unassigned lab reports. Tbh, I wouldn't be surprised if she dropped them both. It's not even because of the students, it's because this professor is 1/5..

In the last two weeks, she pushed in 2 lab reports, 2 oexams, and the final. Her way of teaching was unorganized but it did make sense for some. Nobody knew their grade going into the final. If you have to take this professor, do your best to follow the syllabus so that when she loads on everything last minute, you're prepared.

Professor E is a nice person, but that doesn't justify the fact that she is horrible at time management. The semester has ended and we never got any feedback on our first lab report. saying this, she still assigned two more in the last two weeks or class. She crammed more than half of the class points into two weeks. I'm just glad its over.

Honestly one of the easiest classes I've taken in my life. Lecture attendance is unnecessary, but reading the textbook is critical. Do the exam study guides, understand concepts in text, and participate in lab. Exams will be a breeze. No need to attend lecture. Easy lab reports and easy going lab experiments. Would definitely take again!

There's a saying that if you don't have something nice to say, you shouldn't say anything at all. I believe this is an exception. Professor Emetarom is not the professor I would have wanted to teach me second semester chemistry. Her occasional mess-ups and late feedback stagnated my learning. I don't believe it's her fault, but she tries her best.

Honestly, Prof. Emetarom is the nicest and most intelligent prof I've ever seen. Her organized skill may be bad, but she's always there willing to help you if you come to her and ask questions about stuff. 2 first exams are easy, just read the book, do the homework and handouts. The lab & lecture final exams are hard, so study hard and be prepared.

Try crazy, awkward, incompetent, and really just all around bad at her job. Do yourself a favor and take the class somewhere else or with someone else. Anyone is better than her.

Professor Emetarom is a very nice person, but she can be unorganized which puts the class behind often. She is not a tough grader, but can be confusing sometimes in explaining topics. I have taken professor Russell's Chem 400 and I like his teaching style better. She seems very intelligent and I like when she talks about her cats.

If you go to lecture and understand it 98% then your fine. I recommend doing ALL worksheets she gives and memorize how u do each of them, it mimics the exam. Obviously # 's and questions are diff. There just a helpful guide. Grade is mostly exam, some hw assignment. Online hw take forever. She's messy-its how she is. Overall would recommend.

After reading these reviews was scary and put a bad taste in my mouth in regards to taking Professor Emetaroms class. Yes she is a bit unorganized but she lectures slow, easy to understand, and she is always willing to help you understand the material. INTEGRATED CHEMISTRY IS NO EASY CLASS. Plan to form study groups and go to tutoring.

She was extremely unorganized. We cut out chapters and did 1 of 4 planned labs. However, the biggest thing is how she grades tests. Example: A 100 point test has 6 free response questions 15pts each and then 10 1pt multiple choice questions. And you cant go back to other questions to check your work. Once youre done with #3, you cannot go back.

Unorganized yes. Didn't pay attention to lectures the first time around but rewatched them after going over the homework to teach myself. She grades leniently and gives tons of partial credit for showing work on tests. Lab notebook is free points. Pro tip start a group chat with as many people in the class as possible.

This class was hard as it is & this prof made it worse. Shes extremely unorganized. Puts stuff on the tests she never taught. Never on time. Grades late, wont grade everything until 1 week after finals. Never responds to emails. Talks to students like theyre supposed to know everything. Lectures are messy & confusing. SHE IS THE MOST UNORGANIZED PROFESSOR EVER! Her lectures arent even lectures because she doesnt go over anything useful. She shows up 10 minutes late to class everyday. Not bad she was super nice and easy to talk to if you had concerns or were frustrated about some topics. Shes aware of how unorganized she is but she makes up for it with allowing notes during exams and partial credit on lab reports, tests and homework. She made Gen chem so much easier to understand trust me when I say this take her!

If you look past her unorganized behaviors and look at how her lectures are structured and the usefulness of the handouts and practice through the online program, she's an amazing professor. ONE lab the whole semester. She got behind on grading and just gave everyone 100% on most assignments. Exams are open note but too many problems for the time given. Does give practice exams which is EXTREMELY helpful! Canvas was very disorganized and was difficult finding certain assignments/notes. A lot of homework. Forgets to post sometimes.

Tests were pretty much impossible to get 95%. So many students were confused and had no idea what to do because of how confusing she was. She never let you out of class on time after the first week or so and always keeps you over the time and does not send out the attendance link until she is done talking so if you have somewhere to be good luck

Just take a look at the most recent reviews. They were 100% spot on. Please take Russell for 401. Labs are just a mess. Rambles unnecessarily both in person and in lecture, and extremely disorganized Canvas and confusing instructions. If you take this class, you are on your own to figure things out. Be ready to be on your own. The material itself wasn't too bad, but the class is highly unorganized. Assignments are scattered everywhere and labs are a nightmare. Lectures were pre-recorded and they are long; be ready to dedicate watching 2-5 hours worth of lectures weekly for a single HW assignment. Intelligent professor, an 85-100% is an A.

Emetarom lacks the ability to arrive on a timely manner, manage her time wisely, grade assignments on time, and other fundamental qualities that a professor should have. Let me start by saying disappointment is the word I can use to describe this class. She has no organization skills, confuses students, and has horrible time management skills. There is always a question of when this will be graded and when this is due. Her lectures confused me mostly, and she giggled a lot throwing me off. This has been a struggle.

Prof E was a nice teacher and gave cupcakes to the class after the final. It does not excuse how unorganized and inattentive she was. Going to her for help was useless as she said "probably" to every question asked and was constantly making mistakes. "Oh it's probably right" was her catchphrase. The mean for the last test was a 62 by the way.

Prof. E is a nice person and she is very passionate about teaching. However, I believe she should not be teaching a college-level course as she is disorganized, confuses her students, and fails to grade things on time (2 lab reports due AFTER the final). Her mcq is worth 70% on the test (3 points each). Overall AVOID taking her class!!!

This professor is very nice and sweet but her timing when it comes to grading assignments and submitting semester grades by the due date is awful. It causes a big inconvenience to those who are still planning their next semester out. I would not suggest or recomment this professor.

Professor E is incredibly unorganized and procrastinates when it comes to grading. Exams are difficult and make up 64% of your grade. Whole semester only 5 assignments were graded and she didn't finalize grades until after the deadline. Her directions are unclear and lectures aren't helpful at all. Check out a textbook if you take this course!

Professor Emetarom is a nice lady and is pretty easy to talk to. However, she is EXTREMELY disorganized. She teaches in a very confusing way and gets easily sidetracked. She also doesn't grade much, until after the final is over. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you should probably go anyway, because a majority of the curriculum isn't posted online.

Read some reviews on here & I thought, “she can't possibly be THAT bad right?”- I was wrong, she's worse. Her lectures are lazy and often she can't even finish 1 complete example question in the 80 minute period. The lab report is a ton of work, including typing out all math calculations. We turned one in 6 weeks ago, still hasn't been graded!

Prof E.'s lectures are disorganized, unnecessarily prolonged, and hard to follow. If you are new to chemistry or struggle with chemistry, DO NOT TAKE HER. Unfortunately, the way that she explains chemistry-level topics is EXTREMELY confusing. If you are comfortable with general chemistry, you will be fine. Additionally, often late and grades late.

She talks so much just for 70% of it to be useless. Instructions for assignments are all wordy and confusing. She somehow gives too much information and not enough at the same time. Truly an inspiring balancing act. She'll answer your questions but it's like impossible to even figure out what you're confused about. Also takes forever to grade.

Her ability to turn lecture into a yap fest is truly inspiring. She is hilarious when she marks off arbitrary points for things she has never mentioned in class. "Teaches" concepts one time and expects that you remember them and connect them back into all topics. Puts no effort into repeating things multiple times so that its fully understood by the student. This professor is the most disorganized in the entire CRC, and possibly in the whole community college. We are only able to solve 2 or just 3 questions in the entire lecture. Skipped most of the syllabus and questions. No specific instructions for labs and students are dependent on reading through the manuals.

She's super disorganized and doesn't update grades. By the time finals come around, you won't even know your standing in the class. She wastes a lot of lab time, and by the time she's done you only get about an 1:30 out of the 3 hour lab time to do your experiment (if that). The only good thing is that her study guides match her exams (sometimes).

She worsens with time. Grades are never updated, mistakes are made constantly, and wastes a LOT of time. No clear instructions are given for labs, and she wastes so much time yapping that you only get half of the lab time to do your experiment (sometimes less). Her study guides are ok, but she puts stuff on exams that she's NEVER covered.
