A genuinely caring professor who will do anything within his power to help you succeed. I would recommend him to any student who wants to acheive in Political Science. I hope stays with UTM for a very long time.

I think that anyone who has ever had a class under Dr Baxter would agree with me that the university is lucky to have him and we only wish that all our professors were as involved with the sucess of the individual student as he is EXCELLENT PROFESSOR

Great guy, I took political science from Chesteen and he gave me a D, but Baster's tests are easier and he isn't as boring and I got a "B". I suggest anyone who wants to learn take him.

You will have a very good learning experience. He even have a review day before test. Come to class everyday and you're do alright.

Explains all material from the book which is covered on each exam. Doesn't waste class time rambling like some teachers. There is also a review before test day--be there!

His test are straight from the notes and the review. His essays are super easy and he grades fairly. The class is easy.

Very friendly and interesting teacher. Watched several movies in the class, and he would tell us cool political trivia. I actually screwed up and MISSED MY FINAL and he let me take it later, no problem! I think fact that he is a younger teacher makes him more understanding and cool. Made an A.

Very easy to understand, explains things very well. Can be boring at some times when talking about certain topics but no teacher could make those topics fun. Review days before tests. Very little out of class work. Great teacher would take again.

Dr. Baxter is the best professor that UTM has he is always there when you need him and does everything that he can to help you. He is a great person as well as a professor. He makes students feel like they matter and that their success is important to him. By far my FAVORITE professor at UTM

Professor Baxter is a great teacher. He is down to earth, not stuck up like so many professors on this campus. He has easy tests, all mulitiple choice and true and false, but make sure you study, they can be tricky. He has two writting assignments, but they are reasonable.

Professor Baxter is the best teacher that I have had since I came to UTM. He is very helpful and clear. If you take him and are not a slacker then you will get a good grade. His tests are not hard and neither is his classes. The upper divison class was harder but not much. He is an A+++++ teacher. I would recommend him to anyone.

I took every class Chris taught. He is by far the best teacher at Martin. He's always there for you and is great in class. If it's boring it's not his fault, it's usually that material. If you have the opportunity to take him, do so. He is wonderful.

He is a good teacher and not hard to understand

CBAX as we like to call him is a wonderful teacher. He is very understanding and realizes that people do have a life outside of class. He is very knowledgeable about his subject and makes this course very simple.

Fantastic teacher. Am taking him again this semester. Very understanding of family situations and works with you more than he should, sometimes people take advantage of his good nature.Rating from 1-10, a 25.

I have only been in this class for a few weeks, and love it! Baxter is awesome, a big nerd, but very clear! I suggest to take him!!

He is an excellent prof!Hes my fav in the POSC dept.Extremly helpful.Shows both sides to an issue.Has a review day before each test and hints at what will be emphasized on the test.Up div tests place more of an emphasis on essay and short answer questions than his lower div tests.Gives partial credit so write somthing even if you dont have a clue

Do not buy the textbook. I bought it, put it in my closet, & didn't bring it out until it was time to sell books back..& they had already bought back too many of them to buy mine! His class is very easy. I studied about an hour before each test & did great. Class isn't that interesting, but he's funny. I like him.

Baxter is the nuts! Everyone should take him, I've had him for almost all poli sci classes. He is easy but you learn a lot. His tests are straight forward and he knows his stuff-always gives good examples. So much more interesting than Chesteen or anyone else. And he really does care about you learning! Take him before anyone else in poli sci

Dr. Baxter is extremely interested in what he teaches so he is more than happy to talk to you about the subject after calss or to explain a topic more thoroughly. He loves to be asked questions and have class discusions. I never used my book, only class notes.

I have always hated anything dealing with politics. Baxter made me interested. He is very helpful and understanding.

I loved his class!! TAKE HIM! He takes at lease half of a class period to prepare you and tell you exactly what will be on your test. Follow his slide shows and take good notes!

The last comment made is completly untrue! Baxter is a wonderful professor and is always willing to help in any way! He's very intelligent and has a lot to teach people, his class is fun and interesting. Attendance is not strict and tests are straight-forward! Take him!!! you won't regret it!

He is beyond awesome. I dont where he learned to teach but he is so crystal clear and interesting that he makes you wish he taught all your classes. He understands his audience so well and even though he doesnt wanna get into politics, I could see him as an awesome senator because he is so well versed and know how to express his ideas and thoughts.

Dr. Baxter is an amazing professor. He is courteous and respectful to his students. He will treat you like an adult without letting his "professor power" overcome him like some professors tend to. If you need this course for a requirement or just want to learn about Political Science I would definately recommend this intelligent professor!!

very nice guy. tests come from powerpoints you go over in class. 3 tests T/F and multiple choice. you have write one paper but, easy. alot extra credit oppurnities. take him if you can, you will learn alot

Dr. Baxter is the best! He is extremely passionate about the political and governmental sciences, but his teaching is very no-nonsense while still being informative and interesting. He is very down-to-earth and student-oriented. He is always pleased to answer any questions and discuss subject matter after class. He is truly an asset to UTM!

Dr. Baxter is cool. If you don't make at least a B something is wrong.He puts all his lectures on iTunes,too.

I Love Dr. Baxter. He loves what he teaches, and he wants you to do well. He's always making sure he's being clear and that the students answer any questions necessary. He also really helped me get a vision of my future/career. He's simply amazing!

Baxter is as easy as it gets, but I hate his classes. I feel like they are too easy to get anything out of. On top of that, he bailed for a week of our maymester class. Whether he had a reason or not, that was comparably 5 weeks of class. I feel like I got a little robbed. Oh well free A. Hes still a really nice guy. Most of you will love his class

Awesome teacher!! Most of the material was a review from high school but I still learned a lot. He really cares about his students and doesn't try to fool you on the tests. All you have to do to ace the tests is print out the powerpoints and take notes on them during class. :)

Baxter is great. I wanna take of his classes every semester I can. Like somebody else said if you cant make at least B in his class its cause you just did not even try. Do not buy the book. His tests are completely off of his power points and his lectures. i never once cracked the book.

Baxter is EASY. All of his tests come directly from his PowerPoints. Just print off the PowerPoints and take notes and you will ace the class. If you don't go to class, he puts all of his lectures on iTunes U. Only one paper and it's a 2-3 page opinion paper. EASY EASY EASY

Baxter is super easy. He makes the lectures easy to understand, and all of his tests come straight from his powerpoint. Do not buy the book, because you will never use it. You don't even have to go to class because he doesn't take attendence and puts all of his lectures on iTunesU. Definitely take him, I would if I needed any more poly sci classes.

Dr. Baxter is a great, goofy teacher. He's always ready to help you no matter what you need help with. It's really funny. He starts every class with, "How we doin'?" It never fails. He doesn't demand a lot and the work isn't that hard but you definitely shouldn't take advantage of it. He's a good guy. Take him for sure.

Fantastic- best teacher ever. Don't buy the book, I asked him upfront and he said I probably wouldn't need it, and I didn't. Easy tests, straight form his powerpoints and lectures. I had him online and the discussion boards were great, as were the writing assigments. Took about an hour to hour & a half each week, max!

Great Professor! Upper division is a little harder because his notes are not on blackboard, but his classes are on iTunes... hard material but he's always will to help in any way he can!

Baxter was a great teacher. He's really funny, and he does a lot with pretty boring subject matter. He also let us call him C-Baxt, which totally won my respect for him. If you have the chance, take Baxter's class.

Baxter is an awesome professor. He really couldn't make the class any easier. He keeps the lectures interesting and entertaining. My only gripe was that class was cancelled frequently, but some people would consider that a plus. Tests come entirely from powerpoint notes which are made available online. All lectures are recorded and put on itunes.

He is a very laid back professor. There are a couple of papers, but they are only about 2 pages long. He provides a study guide that is very similar to the test. He also canceled class a couple of times. Take him for POSC 210!

So fun! Super laid back and you never had any surprises about anything. Attendance is not mandatory but you need to go anyway bc you learn the material better. If you have to take this class definitely take him!

I'm a cell&molecular bio major so this class was just a humanities I had to take! SO EASY!! I made all A's on the test, all you have to do is attend class (he does take attendance sometimes) and take notes. His study guides are the EXACT SAME as his tests. Only 2 papers in there on really interesting topics also! TAKE HIM!!!

Dr. Baxter is HILARIOUS!!! Honestly I enjoyed going to his Gens class everyday and plan to take his political science class this next semester. He is a big goofball. His Gens class is SOOOOOO EASY!!! We do hardly anything in class, and as long as you do the assignments you'll get a easy A.

Baxter is the BEST prof I've had at UTM! He explains everything CLEARLY and to the point. Everything is off powerpoint & exams are straightforward. Provides study guides & records his lectures so you can go back and listen if you miss class. Highly intelligent man! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I liked him as an instructor a lot. He's straightforward; no trick questions or complicated explanations. He puts his lectures online so you can listen to them if you miss class or if you just want to go back and listen. Go to class and listen, write papers, and you'll pass the exams no sweat.

Dr. Baxter is not only a very easy class, but also a good class in general. You get a good grade and actually learn.

Teacher was really easy. If you skip class he has lectures online as well. I really don't recommend skipping however. He doesn't give many tests and if he doesn't get around to lecturing about a topic before a test he won't put anything about it on he test. You don't have to have the book either though he recommends a lot of the charts in it.

Dr. Chris Baxter was a great professor for Political Science 210. His tests are straight forward with no trick questions. He gives a few different opportunities for extra credit. We had 2 papers which he grades very easily. If we did good on the first one, we could take that grade on the second so we didn't have to do it. Highly recommend him.

Dr. Baxter is one of the best professors. His class is easy, if you miss then audio lectures were posted on line. Gave a study guide for every test. You did need to take decent notes but there weren't many. He talked about current issues and would even answer questions about curent issues.

My favorite professor at UTM

Dr. Baxter is a great professor. His jokes are very dry and you can tell he's told them a few (hundred) times, but he is a nice guy who is more than willing to help you get a good grade. I would recommend him, just not for an 8am. You will fall asleep.

He was super laid back. I loved coming to class for the debates. He fostered expression of ideals. Study for the test and you'll be fine. Come to class with your opinions and an open mind.

Professor Baxter is a great guy. He makes politics really simple to understand. He uses a lot of the same jokes over and over, but he's funny. Try counting how many times you hear the words "You with me?" during class. He really does care whether or not you understand the material.

He is literally so helpful

The power points are uploaded to canvas, and he records his lectures. He's a funny guy, and he's good at explaining complicated concepts. He wants you to succeed. He assigns papers, and the criteria is pretty vague, so get ready to write on something you're somewhat uninformed on.

I'm not a Political Science person, but Dr. Baxter made this class enjoyable. Though attendance is not mandatory, I would not have done as well if I didn't show up for class. There were three 3 page papers we had to do. The tests are a little tricky, but as long as you show up and study, you'll be fine.

Dr. Baxter is one of my favorite professors. His lectures are very interactive, and he lets you speak your mind. He's very concerned for the success of his students and really wants to see them thrive. 1000000% would take him again!

This class requires a lot of reading, but only if you need to understand the material better (such as before a test). Dr. Baxter is a GREAT professor and makes this class super enjoyable. There are only a couple of tests and a small writing assignment, but you should do well on them if you pay attention in class! 10/10

Dr Baxter is super nice, cracks a lot of dad jokes in class. Its kinda impossible to dislike him. The main important thing is to pay close attention to his lectures, because the powerpoints dont cover everything. He makes a clear study guide for the exams, and there arent many assignments otherwise. Highly recommend him

You will get more out of the class if you show up. If you happen to miss, he records all of his lectures. He gives good study guides for his exams. Also has good informational lectures

Good teaching. I took his 8 AM class but there was no required attendance and he recorded the lectures. Only required three tests and two papers and they are both super easy. Just attend class and you will do well.

Records lectures and attendance is not required. Not many assignments. His papers are easy and as long as you show up for the class you will pass the exams. He wrote me an awesome letter of recommendation for an international exchange.

Dr. Baxter is one my favorite professors I've had at UTM so far. He is extremely respectful and cares about the success of each student he has. I highly recommend taking him for this course especially if you want an unbiased opinion.

Nothing but praise for Dr. Baxter - love this man to bits, class was engaging, made me fall in love with the content, tests were easy, lenient essay grader, genuinely cares, exactly how you want a professor to be.
