Mr Bell has kept my interest this entire semester. The common theme for discussion is pop culture, which I despise, but he presents info in such a way that you just want to study it. Grading on essays is tough, but not so much that you will be in any danger of failing, as long as you put in a bit of effort. Good class overall. I'll take him again.

OK class. You have to write 2 papers and a research paper. Prof Bell is very clear in what he expects, and will help you out as long as you make an effort. We had to do a lot of reading assignments, and write a lot about them, which sucked, but class is interesting. I got a B without trying too hard.

he is a nice guy and will help you if you ask. The topics in class are very interesting and you have to read alot of essays and do some homework. in the class you just write 2 papers and the homework and the final. over all it was a good class and a good teacher.

He actually made class fun. He found ways to make the lectures interesting to listen to, and he's really funny. The material wasn't hard to understand, and the work load is light, but when you actually write papers he grades a lot tougher than you would think.

He makes the class alot of fun. I looked forward to going just because he is interesting to listen to. He is very clear on what he expects. There are reading assignments that you have to do homework over and those get annoying but they are easy.Overall he is great.

I enjoyed his class. He is clear as to what he expects. We had to write 2 essays and 1 research paper. No tests. Homework is easy reading assignments. He was interesting and funny during class. Never boring.

Class overall was fairly easy. I was afraid of failing due to lack of attendance. This ended up being far from the truth. I wish I would have gone to more because class always seemed fun. Wish Bell taught more than 1 ENGL1102 next semester.

He is a pretty funny guy. He grades his papers at a college level, but the class was basically a high school review for me. You can tell he's really smart and knows what he's talking about; I would have really enjoyed taking his class if he had made it more challenging since he obviously has a lot of passion for the subject.

Great professor, extremely helpful when you ask. Grades tough but makes expectations clear so you know exactly what he wants. Im making an A easily. 2 essays, a research paper, a few minor reading assignments for HW. Also you dont have class for about 3 weeks out of the sem for essay weeks. Take his class!

His class was fun. Mr. Bell was a little arrogant and quirky, but funny. He could pop out some smark remarks but that made the class interesting. Not too much work, but he grades tough. I worked my butt off for a B.

Bell is an interesting professor. There are short essays to read that you fill out a sheet noting something interesting, puzzling, and something you already knew (taken up at the beginning of class). You get about 15 of these... Two essays of 700-1000 words, 1 research paper, and two in class essays. Mostly listen to interesting discussions.

Professor Bell is by far the best English teacher I have ever taken. I love his style of teaching, plus we only had to write a total of 3 papers. Very good teacher. Would take him for another English class.

Not sure what that person is talking about. If you can't get good grades on his papers, you probably should reconsider going to college. You email them to him and he reads them. Doesn't really count of for grammar that much. We didn't even use our books. All of my friends enjoyed his class too. Some people just shouldn't go to college.

Great teacher. Hes extremely helpful and the 2 tests that he gives are extremely easy. The essays are easy and he grades easily as well.

He is a difficult teacher but I had a lot of fun in his class. If you pay attention and write decent papers you'll do just fine. I came to class half the time and he just made fun of me. 8am classes are never a good idea.

Bell is a bit of a smart a**, but in a funny way, and i got a good sense of humor so it made the class more fun. He is laid back and easy to work with but by no means can you slack when it comes to your work. I had him for 1101 and liked him enough to make sure i took him for 1102.

Dr. Bell is a tough grader but only because he knows when you're trying and if you could do better. He requires FIT sheets to be filled out after reading assignments, which is a pain but they're easy if you read. Good teacher but I couldn't take his class again.

Pretty cool guy. Very smart and passionate about english. Grades pretty tough but then again, it's college. Be sure to read every book thats assigned and visit him for his essays and you'll do fine.

I thought he was slightly intimidating. He really encouraged discussion so make sure you read everything! He calls on you especially when he thinks you don't know the answer. Not for people who don't want to read or discuss.

I really enjoyed his class. It's quite simple to get an A. Make sure you read EVERY ASSIGNMENT, because he has daily quizes that account for 25% of your grade. He grades the papers kindly, because he has so many papers for composition classes. Of course, you only have to write two papers all semester: one for mid-term and one for final.

This semester his class consisted of a total of 4 papers&for the first half the semester FIT sheets which requires reading. He really knows his stuff&is tough on grading, but let him look at your papers before submitting, you will do better. I did this and it helped me tremendously and he is very willing to help. He WANTS you to do this.

Dr. Bell is very intelligent & passionate about what he teaches. This makes for a great professor. Also, he is hilarious & class is always engaging. He wants you to learn & therefore grades fairly. If you're looking for a class worth your time and money, take him- if you're willing to put forth effort. Liked his class so much i'm taking him again.

Attendance is not mandatory but FIT sheets are due most everyday. FIT sheets I never got the idea of. But he helped me improve my writing skills. Pretty strict grader but well worth it if you are interested in Writing or English major. Wish I could take him again.

He will improve your writing overall, but this is far from an easy A class. if you visit him in his office and have him look over your paper, you will do better. You do fit sheets everyday until the last couple weeks or so. He can be very opinionated, but is usually pretty accurate..

Great teacher, was very helpful with writing our essays. He will look over every essay you write and help you correct it until you make an A. A really nice, definitely knowledgable guy with a lot of writing experience under his belt. Take this class!

Professor Bell is an alright teacher. I earned a B in his class, and that is not doing my best. I would recommend taking him. He uses the textbook a lot, so you have to buy it and read what he assigns. Almost every night we had reading assignments, but his essays made up for that bc he chose interesting topics.

Great professor and a really funny guy, unless of course you say something stupid, in which case he will notify you of it. Always willing to help better your writing skills. I highly suggest taking Dr. Bell.

I wasn't too sure about him at first and I almost dropped his class but I am really glad that I didn't! The topics for the essays aren't a breeze but I did well on all of them. English isn't my favorite subject but I enjoyed his class. I got an A in the class but I worked for it. I would take him again if I needed too. :)

Bell is a wonderful professor, some may say he is a tough grader, but honestly some people are just bad writers who refuse to ask for help, even though it is offered. He is sarcastic and keeps class interesting. Plus, he gives specific guidelines as to what he wants and tries to truly teach correct writing techniques instead of focusing on grades.

He's a fair grader so as long as you put 100% in you're essays you'll do fine. Also make sure to read before you come to class. Overall he's a great teacher & will help you if you need it.

Dr. Bell is a FANTASTIC professor. He looks a lot into the content of the essays. You need to read anything he gives you for homework because he gives a quiz over it at the start of the next class, but it's only 5 questions and it's really easy! LOVED his class!

Encourages simple sentences and elementary vocabulary choice which I am not used to. He is very helpful when you need him but if you don't follow his essay instructions exactly you'll get a bad grade. Witty, sarcastic liberal that has a hard time keeping his political views to himself. Don't buy his textbook, waste of money Decent teacher overall.

Overall, he is very funny and friendly! Class isn't too difficult unless you're just super lazy. He gives a lot of time to write essays and I think that was the best part about this class.

Professor Bell is great. He's a cool guy. He gives you plenty of time to work on essays in class and helps you whenever needed. I've taken him for 2 semesters now and I will say that you dont need to buy the textbooks. He doesn't use them.

GO TO THE WRITING CENTER. HE gives great lectures, very sarcastic, sometimes comes off as rude. Great teacher though. All essay are submitted and returned to you for a higher grade. Read what he says read, there will be a quiz.

Stupendous professor. Clear and to the point. I like how blunt he is, and really get a kick out of his ability to make you feel stupid if you can't justify yourself when you make a claim about something. What a badass.

I worked super hard on the first paper and even went to his office and had him go over it to make corrections and help me rearrange some things so I could get a decent grade, I barely got a B on it. He will not be lenient AT ALL. If you think you're a good writer, think again. He counts off for everything!

I managed to get an A in the class but it was HARD EARNED! If you're looking for an "easy A" absolutely do not take professor bell! Only 2 papers, a midterm, a final, and quiz grades. There's a quiz every day, he drops the lowest one, over the reading that was assigned. READ! The quizzes can save you because he's super tough when he grades papers!

Dr. Bell is an amazing professor. Although his class is tough, you should have no problem passing if you are willing to work. He is very willing to help you if you ask. His lectures are amazing. He is hilarious, sarcastic, and really gets you thinking. Dr. Bell is hands down my favorite professor and I am currently taking him next semester.

Dr. Bell is, hands down, my all time favorite English Professor. The discussions were entertaining but insightful. He was very helpful with essays. He assigns F-I-T sheets which helped understand the reading material, and they are incredibly easy - no more than 10 minutes of work at best. I would've taken him again if my schedule permitted.

Definitely have to work hard in this class. Attendance is mandatory in order to do well in the class, given that attendance counts for part of the grade. 4 essays total. If you ask for help he WILL help you. Straight forward guy and very sarcastic. Good discussions in class to keep you interested. Good professor overall.

Attendance is part of your grade, another big part is "fit sheets" but they're super easy homework and can finish in 10 minutes max. I thought his class was easy but then again I'm a pretty good writer. If you go to his office he'll give you all sorts of help on your essay before he grades it. Lectures are funny, we didn't ever do anything.

Very impressive with the wealth of knowledge across the board. I love how he gives everyone a chance to succeed. I have so much respect for him, the writing lessons are phenomenal, and his teaching method I'm all for.

Amazing teacher! Allows tons of class time for drafting papers and peer reviews in order to get an A in his class! Attendance is not mandatory, but I recommend going so you can work on papers with him and your classmates!

He gives a quiz once a week online over a reading you do. Fairly easy. His grading for the essays are a bit tough, He gives time in class to work on that so take advantage of that. He will also allow you to bring in your essay and he will tell you exactly what to take out or add in. He tells you exactly whats in the midterm/final. Good professor

Dr. Bell gives you the final on the first day of class and its just vocab so its very easy. Theres 3 essays along with other assignments. No tests but theres FIT sheets which are homework on reading assignments (super easy). He gives good feedback for papers and allows tons of in class time to work on your essays. Pretty easy class overall!

I took Dr. Bell for an online class and I found it to be pretty easy. He is a great teacher and makes himself as available as possible. He provides great feedback and will review your papers or you (there are only two of them). You can tell he is passionate about his job. Would definitely take him again.

Dr. Bell gives extensive feedback on writing assignments. The feedback is actually helpful (how it's wrong, not why it's wrong). We didn't get along; he has very strong opinions and shares them even if they don't relate to the class. But, he's a good teacher if you set your feelings aside.

He's honestly a super cool professor. He gives pretty good feedback on all the papers written and is pretty clear on what he is looking for. He also is a professor that lets the students use class time to work on the papers and assignments for his class or other classes if need be.

I took Dr. Bell's English 2132 class online over the summer and it was the easiest class I've taken in college so far. The entire class consisted of reading a story each week, a 5 question quiz, writing a discussion post, and replying to other students posts. One week we had an essay, but it was an easy topic. I definitely recommend this class.

Good professor. You have a daily quiz on last nights reading. You wont be bored to death in class. Show up for the daily quizzes. Youll have three papers to write, no tests. Id take his class again. I could have gotten an A but i didnt put in enough effort for the daily reading quizzes.

Professor Bell uses a grading contract. You know whats due for the entire semester. This class is labor based. You get graded off the effort you put in. You have a daily reading quiz. You have three essays throughout the semester. I revised my initial drafts of the essays twice and got an A. Just make sure you talk to him and use your resources.

I actually took this online, but I really enjoyed him. He was very clear about when things were due every week. Each week we read something, watched his video he recorded, took a quiz, did discussion post/3 responses/answered final "wrap up". 2 essays, gives great feedback before actual subbmission. Bell was honestly the best professor I've ever had, he is hilarious in class and gives amazing lectures that I looked forward to. You have to do all of the readings because of the daily quizzes, but they are not hard and the readings are enjoyable. We had two essays and if you ask for help, he is extremely helpful and you will get a good grade.

What a complex person. Has great teaching morals and understands that we are all human and is lenient on students. Make sure you read before class because there is almost always a quiz, though they aren't worth a lot of your grade. Definitely plan on taking him again.

Bell is quick about emailing back and he gives really good feedback on essay rough drafts. (Please send him your rough drafts!! He tells you your mistakes and how to fix them!!)

Professor Bell is really good at his job. He knows what he's talking about and does a really good job conveying it. The work isn't difficult, but he is not forgiving when it comes to late work. Make sure you do the reading and you'll be all set.

Great professor, Chris Bell made literature so interesting and really made you think from many perspectives. Had quizzes every class at the beginning of class. For quizzes we had 10 minutes for 5 questions really only needed 5 minutes at most as long as you do the reading you will be set. He only required 3 300-500 word paragraphs read rules.

Professor Bell's class is challenging but engaging. His feedback is brutally honest but super helpful. Use resources like ChatGPT and unstuck AI to ace the essays - his classes are never boring!

The actual classes that I took from Dr. Bell are not among the selectable options, so I picked 6024, whatever that is. I took a graduate-level version of a course called the Theater and Films of Martin McDonagh, and I had Dr. Bell as a mentor for an MAT capstone. Dr. Bell gives phenomenal feedback. Wish I could fit more praise here. Love the guy.

Chris Bell has set up a wonderful online American literature course. There was nothing live so very flexible schedule. As long as you stay on top of the assignments and ask for his feedback on assignments, you can get an A with minimal effort.
