Biehler is the man! He's down-to-earth and understands his students completely.
Beihler rules. He is one awesome teacher.
If there was one man at that school, Biehler would be him! He can explain everything ten different ways if you need it. No complaints about this one.
Great professor. His attempts to pronounce names for attendance before every class is like a comedic monologue that lightens the mood for everyone.During lectures, he tends to repeat things, but only because, as another comment says, he explains things several different ways so that no one gets lost.
This teacher was AWESOME! Like other students have said, he can teach the same material many different ways for people of all backgrounds to understand. I definitely recommend this teacher...
Best economics teacher ever.
Best Economics teacher. Really makes things clear and is really funny.
Biehler is the best teacher I ever had for economics. I'm not sure exactly what he did before teaching, he seems to know alot about different things. I actually come to school so that I can go to his class. As a black female, I never had a teacher who I could relate with as well.
Biehler is a great guy! He makes class fun, he understands what is expected of you so there are no questions and he is very knowledgeable. You will leave class in love with him... i did!
This is one of the best teachers I have ever had, class is very fun!
I slept thru many of his classes, I feel I've learned nothing from him other that stories about his DJ service.
Best Teacher I ever HAD!!!

easy a
Although friendly and approachable, his method of mixing real life examples with economic concepts backfired: Half of the time he went off on tangents that had little to do with the topic. This teaching style left me confused and unable to retain any of the material.
I took his Personal Fiancial Planning course first, and then to Micro Economics. I was amazed at his knowledge and how he ties certain concepts into both courses. Micro was much more boring than PFP, but he still made it fun!
Very unclear in teaching. I feel like I didn't learn anything, and I am really interested in the subject. His take home tests were challenging, but manageable and they were the basis for your entire grade. If you wanna learn Economics, take Redlo's class, he is the man.
Really nice guy, horrible teacher. The man can't even spell economics correctly. I knew more going into the class than i know coming out. Tests are take-home, so its relatively easy, but come on, learn to spell the class you're teaching.
Brillant teacher! His examples of Micro Economics were useful and current. The tests were certainly challenging, but fair. I did not know that Economics was so fun!
Professor Biehler is an excellent professor. He is a bit old school, using a projector rather than powerpoint notes, but you will learn a lot from the man. Make sure you participate in class, take notes, and do your best on the take home tests and quizzes and you will pass.

I took him for Micro and I did well and loved his teaching style and the way he talks to students and his helpful attitude. Macro Economics is a better class!..better subject stuff. Biehler is the man when it comes to being prepared. I am looking forward to a great semester.
They don't come much better than Biehler. End of story.
He is mad cool..
The very best teacher I have ever had...plain and simple! He consistently gave us great real-life examples, using humor and making learning fun.
Good teacher. He keeps you paying attention by making the class enjoyable. He lectures and uses overhead for notes. He doesnt move on unless everyone understands the material. Funny guy great teacher. I recommend him strongly.
Great Guy, Loves his job. Makes it fun to learn. One of the best professors I have ever had. Highly recommend!!
Awesome Teacher ! Very Funny. and he thinks he's a legend. You do tons of projects but they are very easy, tests on the other hand are kind of hard!. Do the Projects you'll get a good grade!
Had him for Sports and Entertainment marketing, he loves what he does! He is really fun, but can scare you the first few weeks of class because he makes it known how much work you will have to do for the class. It's all laid out and you have the time to do the work! highly recommend.
Really nice guy and an okay teacher. The projects are good, but their instructions need to be updated. Test questions come directly from the book (you need to know random details). Make sure you participate in class.
I thought I would not like Macro. Biehler made it clear and understandable and why we are in this damn recession. When people start talking about the economy, I can now tell what is right or wrong. One of the best classes I ever took, and I am an English major.
Loves teaching this class which is what makes it so entertaining. Cracks jokes here and there but is very smart and involves everyone. Overall one of my best teachers I've had
..as good as its gonna get n teaching...could teach basket weaving or statistics...it doesn't matter..if u do not learn, u r not listening, not just life applications, got jokes, and knows his stuff & luvs his students!!..excellent presentation, diction, volume and WILL involve u even if u hadn't asked!!! don't sleep on an opprtny 2 LEARN & LUV IT
Ok guy but not a good teacher. gets easily confused. seems like he doesn't know the material
Very funny guy, reminded me of my Dad. Cares alot about students and if you do well. Works with students and is flexable. We had 10 quizzes (super easy), 4 tests (2 were take homes) and 2 small projects. Fun class that goes by quick and is enjoyable. He lives what he teaches so he knows what he is talking about. ECONOMIC TEACHING ICON!
He is a little obnoxious but overall he's a great teacher that knows what he's talking about. He tells a lot of stories in class and not all of them are exciting, so aim for an afternoon class. One thing I'll always remember about this class is memorizing the 30 stocks in the Dow Jones index and reciting them to the class for extra credit.
He loves what he does and the student reaps the benefit. He flies by the seat of his pants a bit regarding notes & whatnot, but all in all he will really help you to learn the subject matter, and he is very accommodating to the students. Not an ogre on grades, either. Highly recommended.
I had him for micro and macro and he made both of them such an amazing experience. easy teaching style! loved it!
Took this online. Decent class. We used a site called aplia to do a lot of graded assignments. They were pretty hard but you got 3 attempts at each question. Discussions are easy and he gives an easy extra credit paper at the end. If he taught macro next semester online I'd take it with him.
Bad teacher. He is very disorganized. Taught very slow and didn't prepare us well for exams, because he taught for 40 mins (most of which was him gloating about how awesome he was) of a hour and 20 mins class. The 4th to last class he decides to have 4 quizzes on one day(he told us we'd have 1), which a lot of people missed. Waste of money.
I took this class online. My schedule couldn't accommodate it otherwise, and having heard outstanding comments about this prof, I thought I'd made a great choice. I couldn't have been more wrong. Lots of online work through Aplia, which was great, easy to use, but class discussions weren't moderated - no feedback from the prof for any module.
A great sense of humor and all around great guy
Worst Teacher Ever. Used the same examples for every single thing we learned in the class, which was confusing. Wrote an the overhead while we took notes for every single class. It seemed impossible for him to even stay focused. worst teach ever!!
Cool guy. Same routine every chapter. Do the online quizes and pay attention you'll do fine. Class is all notes but he cracks jokes. Take it with him, you will pass. I got a B with not much effort.
he was awesome! just do the reading and study and you're good
WORST ONLINE PROFESSOR EVER. Very unclear on what he wants and how he wants it, surprised i passed even though I did everything asked of me.
This professor is ridiculous. I'm guessing about 80% of the class failed. I do NOT recommend anyone taking online classes with this professor. Trust me, please. At the very least, keep your finger on the drop/withdraw button!
Cocky guy, spends a lot of time talking about himself but he is very funny most of the time. Read the book, the answers are straight out of there. Gave out one take home test and quiz. Does us the same example often, which can be a negative. GO TO CLASS, he is very serious on attendence. If you mess it up even if he said a diff date you will get a 0
Prof. Biehler is a funny guy, cracks alot of jokes, and seems to have an example for everything. Although he can be extremely cocky... money money money. During class all we did was take notes, never took the time to fully explain. If your late, he lets you in a half hour after class, so DONT be latehe will take the time to embarrass you
very straight forward with you and how the class is run everything is done on the overhead overall not to hard just do what he asks of ya read the chapters when you dont full understand something and you will do fine
The tests are very difficult, so make sure you study!
Bielher seems to know what he is talking about, he is a bit arrogant calling himself an "educational economic icon". However I barely had homework for this class. We had 3 tests and 4 quizzes and one connection paper, no final or midterm.....the tests cover a lot of material and require studying for a good grade.
I took the class online because it worked best with my schedule. I took a last start class, and everything was due on Saturday by midnight. Every single sunday by noon, everything was graded with personalized comments. If you read the chapter, you'll do really really good. I wish I took this in school, he was the best online teacher I ever had.
I took this class online, and the professor was very arrogant when replying to my emails. And he took off 5 points on two different assignments I handed in for saying "None", instead of "Zero". I did not like this guy at all.
Very rude when asked questions pertaining to syllabus. Here is the material, do it, see ya at the end of the semester. is his teaching method for online. I got a B so I can't complain but it would be nice to have good interaction with your online students considering you dont see them. Overall easy class, should be taken online to skip BS.
It's like taking an online class. He doesn't teach in class and all assignment are online. You basically teach yourself.
Biehler is the man! Very funny and keeps class interesting even though he teaches on an overhead projector. Offers quizzes and an easyshort paper as well to help your grade. Very straight forward, just put in a little work.
I didn't think this class would be hard but there is a lot of material that Professor Biehler makes very easy to understand! He is hilarious and gives many opportunities for extra credit on tests! Definitely need the text to reference. Would take classes with him again for sure
Professor Biehler is the best professor I have had yet at MCC! He makes class fun and you will not get bored learning the material.. Expect to do the homework because it pays off on the tests! Took his Micro online and Macro in class!
Professor Biehler is the man. Everything you want in a professor. Good stories, fun guy, well rounded, and extremely knowledgable. He teaches Macro online for the SUNY system, but you must have the in class expireence. What else, fastest response to emails, no taken home assignments, reviews the chapter questions in the book and his sheets. Awesom
This professor is very prompt about grading. He is very clear about the material cover on the test and provides study outlines. One of the best public speakers I have seen inside or outside of MCC. Only drawback is he tend to project a conservative viewpoint. Don't let this scare you off if you're a liberal student. Challenge your beliefs.
Professor Biehler was an awesome Macro teacher. His guidelines were clear cut and I actually understand and did well on his tests and quizzes. The fact that we wrote notes out in class and explained things as we went was really beneficial. It was easy to pay attention considering his loud voice and considering the lectures weren't just mundane.
Macroecon is my second online Late-start class with him. World's easiest class. You don't need a hard copy of the book- just the online access code and you're good to go for all of the class homework except the mandatory discussion board. ZERO quizzes or tests. when I missed a whole section, i emailed him and he re-opened the assignment for me!
This was one of my favorite classes I have taken at MCC because of Prof Biehler
Professor Biehler is the man! Economics is not the easiest course but he certainly makes it interesting with jokes and stories during his lectures relating to the theme. Don't expect to breeze by this class, but if you study and use the resources given you will succeed.
Professor Biehler is a good guy. He makes fairly dry material easier to digest. He is humorous and as long as you go to class and take the notes, you will do well on quizzes and tests. He gives notice when there will be a quiz or test and prepares you well for them, did not need to read the textbook at all. I would definitely recommend him.
Ive had Professor Bieler for both micro and macro now and will be searching for his name when signing up next semester. Pro. B does tell many interesting storys that stick in your head and will help you pull back info for the tests. He also uses many in class tactics to keep everyone focused. Also his voice is like Sullys from monsters inc.
The class was well organized and he gives good feedback. Expects participation and it weighs in your grade. A lot of assignments were online, like many economics classes. Would recommend.
Hes was ok I guess. The class was really easy but the lectures where rather boring almost all the time. It was never something I looked foward to sitting through. He also comes across as a little condescending sometimes. He wasnt bad, but Id definitely explore other options
He teaches very well. He gives clear examples of the problems and has intensive knowledge of the subject matter.
There is no homework.
Would make rude comments sometimes to seem funny, persoanlly wouln't take this professor again.
The professor is a pretty cool dude. He sometimes keeps us up-to-date with the economy. There are a few quizzes and tests that are graded so make sure you study. Do the worksheets and practice quizzes. They come in handy. The only downside is he gets off topic way too much and then tries to relate it back to economics, but he just loses everyone.
Cares about your success. Tries his best to work with you. Concerns or are struggling with class let him know. HW is easy: found in the book w/ multiple tries to get questions right. 2 discussions/week & at least 3 responses: post your main discussion post & at least 1 response before the day that is due or you will lose points. Insightful class.
I go to a different college but needed the credit. homework and tests are done on MyLab, take your time and do enough research to get 100% on everything. A couple of times I contacted him for help or questions I received a crass, illiterate email from an assistant. I paid a lot and had no other way to speak to him, I found this disrespectful.
Study his worksheets and you will be golden.
There are weekly homework and quiz assignments due that will take you anywhere from 2-6 hrs to complete each one. If you are not a self-learner, DO NOT take this as an online course. I rarely reached out, but I personally dont feel the professor was helpful or approachable when I would email to ask questions.
Probably the worst professor I've ever had. He was very unhelpful. Sets unrealistic expectations and does not answer your questions. Would not recommend taking his class.
Absolutely a living ICON best professor/DJ ever 10/10 would recommend.
Sets you up for success as long as you do the work and follow the rules. Great guy and economics is definitely his passion.
The course is relatively easy; all do-by-yourself HW & quizzes; no input from prof. at all. DBs are frustrating - has such useless weird rules about waiting 15 mins & not on the last day, etc. and he takes off points for irrelevant things. I only reached out once but he's pretty unhelpful which is frustrating but not impossible to work with.
This class is the least personalized class I've ever taken. He doesn't have any of his own assignments, just a homework and quizzes through Pearson. Discussion boards have the stupidest rules (wait 15 min between each post, cant post all on the first or last day) mind you he gives you 2 days to do the 3 posts. Would not take any class of his again.
Great professor overall. Difficult work load but is clearly laid out. Lectures are fun and engaging. Prepares us for tests well.
Professor Biehler is a great professor! At first, he may seem scary and have a bit of a dry sense of humor, but that's just scratching the surface. As the semester progressed he became more personable and his humor began to grow on me. I highly recommend taking his classes in person as opposed to online. Overall, he made learning Macro enjoyable!
I would say this class was annoying in terms of the workload. 6 discussions on Brightspace, 3 posts per the discussion that had to be 15 minutes apart from each other and couldn't all be done on the same day. A lot of long online Pearson quizzes and homework. Although, there were pretty easy 3 in-person tests. He gets annoyed and distracted easily.
I took Micro and Macro economics with Professor Biehler. Even though I missed a couple classes in Macro because of work those were the best classes I'v ever taken. His lectures were well taught and his stories and jokes always kept us laughing and interested. If you have a choice to pick Biehler for a class do it. I promise you won't regret it.
Professor Biehler made every class fun and energetic in what even he would classify as a boring course at times. Assignments are all assigned at the beginning of the course so no assignments ever snuck up on you. I've taken Biehler's classes for two semesters now and both were super doable and reflective of work put in.
He was a good professor. He goes off on economic tangents but has course videos online. Exams are based off Pearson questions and exam review worksheets. Shares political views in class but in terms of economics. Shares funny stories or events that can be taken offensively in this day and age. Most of grade is Pearson and discussion posts.
Biehler is very fair with assignments and exams. His lectures are hilarious and he has videos available in the course in case you miss class or need a refresher on the material. He responds very quickly to emails and cares about his students. If you do the assignments and use the resources, you will do well in this class. He is an economic icon!
I have been reading through these and i'm baffled at the fact that almost no one has had a real concern about his political views being constantly stated in class. It's bordering on propaganda. If you're liberal you will find it extremely difficult to not jump out of your seat screaming during lectures.
You can't post more than one discussion post PER DAY (he requires 3+), and none of those days can be the day it's due. If you do either, he takes off 33%. You work at a community college, people have full time jobs, seriously?
It's a very easy course if you read the textbook beforehand, get all your assignments done on time, and show up to lectures ready to learn. Also, study the worksheets he gives before exams, they're near identical to what's on the exam. Amazing professor overall, gives good stories and can be hilarious. Would take again.
