This teacher was one of my favorites. I also took his class for ENC 1102. He is interesting to listen to and is willing to help you with your papers.

GREAT TEACHER!!!!! my favorite at Valencia so far. You have to work hard in his class but you will learn a lot. Took him for ENC 1102 because I liked him so much.

You HAVE to pay attention and participate. You MUST do your readings. Other than that, he's really on the student's level. He is of our planet and generation. He loves his literature, Southpark, and other satiric cartoons.

He is a good teacher. I don't like english that much but he made it clear and easier.

Mr. Borglum was a very effective teacher. I was a little apprehendsive about writing before taking his class (Freshman Comp I). Now, I find myself enjoying the writing assignments in Freshman Comp II; thanks to his effective teaching style!

Prof. Borglum will make you work hard but he wont give you more than you can handle. He is a great professor and his classes for the most part are very enjoyable. Don't take this class if you want to skate. Highly Recommend.

There is alot of reading but the writing assignments are few. He will challenge you but you definately will learn alot.

His Comp1 telecourse was very easy. One essay due every 2 or 3 weeks, no rough drafts necessary, just email him the essay. You can even get by without the videos. Not only is he easy but a great teacher that is willing to do anything he can to help.

I wish I could take another class with Prof. Borglum.

He was very helpful and understanding with my issues. He gave some interesting stories to read, but quite a lot of papers to write.

Took him in 98' and 00'; I learned to write effectively,period. He is a seasoned teacher who conveys the material with precision and humor...he knows how to keep your attention and will take good time with the material you compose.

Helpful, nice and funny. College does require work and I thought his work load was fair. Also he is understanding and is more than willing to take time to help you if you need it.

I had him Spring 2004 and having him agin this next spring. Great teacher. Lotta writign but all your opinions nothing hard. Alot fo reading needs to be doen. Really smart, makes you think. I recommend him to everyone.

Had him for 4 classes wish I could have taken more EXCELLENT prof!! taught me skills that are still helping me today at rollins! if you're a nontraditional student (older) take his class you will get back into school and you will be prepared for anythinh any class throws at you as far as writing!

The work is not as overwhelming as it looks. Saw people drop out of class that should have just stayed. Everyone will pass his class as long as they do the work. Replys to emails quickly. It is up to person to make this class as easy or difficult as they want it to be. Overall fair. I dislike english but found this class ok.

Completely fair-tells you exactly what he wants and gives great examples. This class is not difficult if you put the effort into it. Lots of lit. discussion, which I loved. Respectful of well-supported opinions and very open-minded. I would definitely take this professor again. Simplifies the research paper to something completely managable.

Great teacher. He makes english interesting. He is excited about what he's talking about and it makes you excited. There is a great energy in his classes.

He is very intelligent and very willing to help on any and all assignments. I would definately take his class.If you can write with any kind of professionalism his class is a breeze. Lots of writing, almost every class. All interesting.

nice guy.. he seems reasonable and sticks to the syllabus. no suprizes and grades fair. i am taking him again so i would recomend him.

Borglum is my favorite. He's funny, very fair, direct with his expectaions and quick to help. I'm taking 2 of his classes next semester so I definately reccomend him. He's challenging but in a good way and no pointless assignments, everything he assigns teaches something.

Very nice willing to help out with anything.There is alot of work. But he makes sure he knows what your doing before he gives it to you. The first day of class he told the whole class that it would be alot of work and by the time we where done we would understand English ten time better. He was right. I`m going to take him every year that I can.

Borglum is good at his craft he is an excellent professor and he knows what he's talking about. He is tough only if you are not wiliing to study and apply yourself in his class. He's really brilliant in English and has an answer to every question. I will recommend him to anyone! Oh and to all of you haters please don't hate on Professor B!

For the final research paper, I had it reviewed by Borglum himself. He said that the paper was perfect and not to change anything (his words, not mine) but then I got a poor grade - WTF? His grading sucks and is not fair at all and other students experienced that as well. However, his class is interesting and he is very knowledgable.

I took him for ENC 1101. He was a great teacher. I think he grades kind of hard. I never could get an A on a paper no matter how hard i tried. Besides that, I think he is an outstanding teacher and i'll be taking him for ENC 1102.

He is a fun and interesting teacher but, he's a harsh one on grades. the best advice I can give you is don't turn anything in late to him or it will destroy your grade.

He's brilliant. Probably the best English professor at Valencia. I thoroughly enjoyed his style!!! The secret to getting an A in his class is to stay on top of things, do not procrastinate. His grading is more than fair, I always received feedback on my essays which helped me a lot with the next assignment. Study guide was provided for exams.

If you show up to class, and do the work, you cant get less than a B with this guy. He is a hardass when it comes to grading papers though. And I hope you can get past the fast he laughs at his own jokes.

He is an amazing teacher - brillant, hilarious and hot (making it easier to get to class). Those who think he grades unfairly are most likely too lazy to keep up with his class, because he is crystal clear with directions and couldn't make it easier to get his personal help. I'd take every class he teaches - he's so funny!!

I've taken Borglum for three semesters now. He is very confident in his teaching ability and has every right to be. Best prof I've ever had! I have him for Film Noir and I can't wait to get to his class every week. You can tell he loves his subject and really treats the students as equals. As long as you keep up with the work, it's easy to get an A. This class is great: watch a different movie every class!

First, he is a good professor. I would not recommend his classes for anyone not going into a field that does not require more than a minimum English requirement. You will not get an A in his class. Do not take him online either. Challenging and a very difficult grader.

There are only about five people that I've met in my life that I will not forget until the day I die Professor Borglum definitely one of them. He is the greatest professor I've ever had. He is very good at what he does and he loves his job. He is so passionate about teaching it makes you eager to learn.

Great prof. I learned a lot in his classes and he makes it interesting too. Intro to Film is a great class, funnest class ever, similar format to his Comp classes but no textbook required. Tests come right off the worksheets. Put in the effort to learn the material, and use a little insight in your assignments and you'll get an A.

Professor Borglum is a GREAT teacher. He really loves what he teaches. He is hard, but he's that way because he wants you to learn. He is very willing to help especially if he knows that you want to learn! All in all, he is AWESOME!!!!!

Very Helpful and useful. Answers email and does give some extra credit. Very detailed and professional, if your not enthused about writing this class is not for you. 5 writing assignments in which he expects explicit details. Not an easy class he is very helpful.

Well, he grades harshly but fair. and as far as him being cold or harsh, well lets just say.. man up a bit. I got a bit condescending with some of the dumber boxes of rocks in his class and he put me in check pretty quick.

There was a lot of work since it was a summer online class but it was very fair and doable. He makes you think but gives you plenty of information to do the assignments. Not an easy A but definitly a good class.

A great professor! I really enjoyed his class. Class discussion was always a blast to have. They're are lots of writing assignments so you will be working quite a bit, but he's a fair grader. He will really make you think about and appreciate the literature that you will read. He's passionate about the subject and is good at teaching it.

Great! Took online 1102 and passed with a B but that's because I didn't do most discussions. There is a lot of writing but its Gordon rule, the work is not overbearing tho. He keeps it balanced. Gives VERY helpful feedback on your work. Also very understanding and willing to help his students. Blackboard was messing up and he understood, gave ext.

My favorite professor yet. Very well spoken and engaging. He also commands respect and shows it to his students. I really appreciated his discussions and how he challenged many of us in our thinking. If you need to take English and want a valuable learning experience take Mr. Borglum!

Took ENC 1102 online. He is very helpful and gives great feedback on papers to help you suceed. I got an A in the class and the work was not too much but not too little either. I would take him again if i had to.

If you want an incredible teacher and you truly want to learn the material I recommend to take any class that he teaches. I have had him for English Lit and American Lit and could not ask for a better teacher. BEST teacher out there!!!

Professor Borglum keeps this class fun & interesting. You will learn a lot more than how to write good research papers. By taking good notes & doing the reading assignments, you should have no problem in making an excellent grade.

I took this class onsite. He is my favorite professor I have ever taken, he is nice, helpful, and funny. His class is challenging, it is not an easy A. If you want to learn how to write well, I recommend taking him!

Good professor with a personality. Although he is a like-able guy he can be a tough grader. It is a good course but you will need to work and put in the effort to get an A. I got an A but a low one. So slacking off is not a good idea at all in this course.

This was probably the best class I've ever taken. Really gave me a love for English and literature. He respects the opinions and reviews of his students. Calls himself cold hearted but he really cares about his students. He gives clear guidelines and timelines. A very organized class. He also tends to be very sarcastic.

I took his film class mainly for another credit, ended up being my favorite class for the semester. Weekly: watch film, online discussion board, online quiz. Three easy writing assignments. Midterm and final all come from vocab notes given. No textbook, gives you the reading! Energetic and passionate about teaching this class.

Tons of stories to read and make discussions for. Papers are graded fairly, but he does look for formatting, details, and citations are very important. There is something due every week, sometimes more than one assignment and deadlines are crucial. Not a hard class though.

Great professor, took his class online and everything was straight to the point, just make sure you have time to do your quiz or exam even on the weekend, I missed my mid-term exam because of this but I still passed with a B+. Make sure you remember the deadline of each assignment.

I am not a reader AT ALL. But this class had to be the best I have taken so far. This professor made the class so interesting (mind you I took him online). The stories are good, so reading is not painful. I 100% recommend him.

He's the best professor I've had so far. He was really hands on and that matters a lot to me since I'm a working professional and I took this class online. No late assignments so be on time and give yourself time to write your papers. He gave positive criticism and yes it's a lot of reading but it's a english class. Great professor!

I absolutely love Professor Borglum! I took his online course. He responds to emails quickly and never leaves you hanging. He is always on top of the lessons, but you must always check for updates if you are taking the class online. Do your assignments on time and you won't have a problem. He cares for his students! He is very good at feedback, but he might be too deatiled about grading. He responses to emails very quickly and gives full feedback and even is willing to help you. He is easy to get through, but only that he has alot of work assigned. There is 3 essays, 1 research paper, 2 exams (midterm and final) and the tests are quizes and tests. RECOMMENDED.

He was a good professor! With the only 6 weeks I had, this was a relatively easy class. You have many discussions from the readings he provides. 2 essays and 1 research paper. He gives good feedback and is willing to work with you. Allows you to rewrite one paper. Overall good class.

Cares about his students and the course so much. He makes the course so much fun because he is so passionate. 4 major essays and 2 exams. As long as you make an effort he will like you, breaks down the work so you know exactly what is expected. I was .70 points away from an A and he pushed me up by giving me extra credit.

Professor Borglum takes an English class and makes it fun. His assignments are interesting and can really expand your knowledge of things. The course consists of 5 essays and many discussion posts. The discussion posts are very fun to do and he always gives helpful and sometimes very funny responses to what you have said. Overall an amazing prof.

Professor Borglum is very thorough and understanding. He is really easy to communicate with and he gives a lot of feedback on papers and class discussions. You will have to read a ton of easy short stories and then write a paper every 2ish weeks. Great personality and not a hard class at all, just takes some time.

He is amazing, he helped me become a better writer and his in-person classes are great! He has an amazing personality and is fair and flexible with due dates. It was my first course as an international student in the US and he is honestly the best and I rarely write reviews so you can imagine how impressed I am.

Overall the class was pretty easy. Professor was nice, and was very understanding about any issues that needed to be resolved. Also he sounds like Ben Shapiro when he talks, so I was engaged when he spoke. Overall good class and I'd recommend anyone to take this professor, as long as you put in medium effort into the work.

Very energetic and nice professor! His lectures were entertaining and, compared to other English courses I've taken, he didn't assign too many papers. He gave good feedback and was an easy grader. Be aware of the "secret codes" he puts in assignments! He grades participation for mixed mode based on if you email/tell him the secret codes.

Chris was absolutely amazing! I took him for two different classes and he was phenomenal. His perspective on all kinds of topics is extremely enlightening and he always has something witty to say; so be ready to come up with a comeback! I also can't get over the amount of things I learned, that actually stuck with me. So much love for Borglum

I took both Comp I and II with Professor Borglum, and I'm proud to say that I learned an unbelievable amount in his classes. He is very thoughtful, kind, super smart, and funny. His many years of teaching truly show—he's an incredibly intelligent professor. He will work with you on anything as long as you put in the effort. Definitely take him!
