Very clear teaching, don't even bother buying textbook, curves like hell

Professor Briggs normally doesn't teach Macroeconomics, but he is the best teacher for this subject. YOu don't even have to purchase the book!! Just attend class, take notes, and study for the 3 exams (all of which get scaled) and you will be fine.
a students professor..no attendance, only 3 tests which ar curved, highly recomended..course closes fast
Great teacher. Scaled grades. Wears plaid everyday. Likes to draw graphs.
He is an easy teacher and very down to earth. He scales and you definitely don't need to buy the book. There are only 3 tests.
Tests are tough, but he scales everything.
This guy is the man. Don't bother buying the book, just go to class once in a while and take good notes. He thinks he's funny but he's not and he wears plaid every single class. Tests are tough but he curves. Group quizzes every friday cuz he's lazy.
Awesome guy, really cool, knows his stuff, great teacher. Tests are kinda hard.
He loves plaid! great teacher scales your test then scales your end grade. friday quizzes are a joke. best econ class to take.
Am I the only guy who isn't a fan? He doesn't suck, but he isn't super awesome. I still don't understand Micro at all, whatsoever.
Do not bother buying the book, 'cause the notes come directly from him during the class. Has weekly quizzes, but only from the material that day. Tests are kinda hard, but he is very approachable. I would take him again
Awesome professor. Tests are hard but fair - everything comes from the notes. Explains everything fully and is willing to answer questions. Attendance isn't required but gives lots of notes, so it's a good idea to go. Don't bother buying the book.
Briggs is the best teacher ever! I would take any class he taught. He's cute too;)
For a teacher who teaches so easily in class, his tests are as though he taught us nothing at all. However, he scales like hell, so it'll be fine.
Briggs is a great teacher and a great guy. Tests might seem hard, but he curves and is always willing to go the extra mile to make sure you understand the material.
Hes an awesome professor, dont bother buying the book all test come from lecture notes. Quizzes every friday but usually are done in groups. Test are tough but he curves graciously. Take him if you can he keeps you interested.
Good guy...doesnt take attendance and is pretty laid back. Knows his stuff although he seems dumb at times. Lenient grader on weekly quizzes...tests are very hard but gives a curve.
Briggs is awsome. Take a lot of notes and don't buy the book. Easy A.
hes not so awesome, exam are way harder than they should be, scale does not help everyone, take Harris instead
do not take this class. yeah maybe he doesnt take attendance or give homework, but theres 3 tests and a final each worth 25% of your final grade. each one is extremely hard, dont count on an A
TAKE THIS GUY. easy A if you take notes. quizzes on fridays but you do them in groups. you get to watch ducktales too
He's such a cutie, so his poor teaching makes up for it. Weekly quizzes, but he scales them SOO much as long as you relate it to the real life. The exam is hard, but once again, he scales that too. He doesn't take attendence, but make sure you go to class on quiz day. Take him!
Honestly, save yourself 80 bucks, and don't buy the book. I'm thru w/ the semester, and havent opened it once... so trust me, you won't use it, unles you are a hard core economics student.
yeah the test might be riduculous but he scales the class average to a be plus everyfriday there are group quizzes...take the notes or get them from someone considering class is optional and you can easily get a B+ or A-
briggs is the****, likes to say "ok" alot which can get pretty old, but hes an excellent teacher, no work at all, doesnt take attendance, and you'll never need the book, tests and quizzes are simple if you take notes
Best professor at Bryant. Laid back, funny guy, just study notes - no book needed. Briggs is the man, simply put.
Great teacher. Goofy at times but thats what makes it fun when the material is dry. Quiz every friday but are very easy and are on material learned that day. Exams and quizzes are not cum. Scales tests. Would def reccommend to anyone!
very easy teacher, take him if you get the chance
tests are so hard. so study alot .they don't relate to anything he teaches, but he does scale, and he doesn't take attendence.
Great guy but tests are very hard. If you're used to mult choice like Shaanan, forget about it. The 1st test class avg was in the 60s-70s. Go to class & take notes. Study the HW & notes well to prepare for tests. Thank god he does scale on exams. I think he's kind of cute in a nerdy kind of way too!
Had him for micro, great guy.. Teaches well. No attendance policy and no hmwk. quizzes and test are not cumalative so just learn and forget as you go. Do go to class though cuz he only tests on what he goes over in class.. DONT BOTHER BUYING THE BOOK you will not need it, its a waste of money.
Briggs is a good guy. He wont be teaching this class for a while due to Kim returning, but for any principles class id highly recc. him. He graduated from bryant 5-6 yrs ago, and remembers what it was like to be a student. Awesome guy
Briggs is awesome. He lectures but is just so hilarious to watch. Chris Briggs is the man.
I LOVE Chris Briggs!! This guy is the man. period. He makes his lectures interesting and he has a dorky sense of humor. Quizzes every Friday but they arn't hard at all! He scales all exams to an 80 too. No homework either!! I'd recommend Briggs to anyone
He's a nice guy a little strange, but it's entertaining. He gives weekly GROUP quizzes. He has NO attendence policy. His Exams are tough. He uses too many graphs to explain things. He's a graphing machine.
The standard for all teachers. No hwk, the quizzes are a joke, but his tests are impossible. The good thing is the tests are curved. He's a nerd but has a good sense of humor. You have to take him!
Classes seem easy, but his tests can be hard. Make sure you take notes on EVERYTHING, he doesn't use the book so notes are essential. Great guy.
Briggs is the ****ing man! He is the only professor i know that would actually compare the supply and demand for miller lite and budweiser on a college campus, and then actually graph it! hahahhaha
this guy is the**** becuase he doesnt require you to go to class and if you get the notes from a classmate you are good to go. no need to do much becuase his tests are quite easy and you can study the night before and be all set. very easy with no effort needed.
Good class, all notes, no book needed, the tests are all from his lectures but they are impossible. no homework, and does not take attendance.
Briggs rocks. If you take him, DO NOT BUY THE BOOK. Even though his tests are challenging, as long as you study right from the notes, he doesn't throw you any curveballs. His lectures are very comprehensive, and if you come to class (even though there's no attendance policy), you will do well on the tests with minimal studying.
great guy, doesnt take attendence but you cant learn anything without going to class because he doesnt use the book, test are hard but he curves them, overall very good teacher, would take again
You will only get out of this class what you put into it. He doesn't take attendence, but it's in your best interest to go. His tests come directly from the notes. He doesn't use the textbook so don't bother buying it. Worst comes to worst you can borrow a friends.
hes great
took him for both macro and micro. he is awesome. go to class and you will definitely pass. his tests can be hard but they are right from the notes and he curves them. dont buy the book. definitely recommend this professor!
well i though getting c and d's on tests would screw me over, but i ended up with a b- in the class because of the curve he does for everyone to get a 80%. he is a nice teacher and his notes are clear.
lectures are pretty boring but the notes are clear. tests are hard but usually scaled
Briggs is the best! Attendance is not mandatory, but you have to go to class in order to get all the notes. The notes are also very easy. He writes everything on the board. All I did was IM the whole class and still passed with a b+. He scales everything! TAKE HIM!
Briggs is the man, dont buy the book, just go to class and take notes and that is the test basicly, although tests can be hard he curves alot so you end up with a good grade, he makes economics fun
Briggs is awesome. He gives very clear notes and his tests are easy because they are based off the notes. Don't buy the book, the only use for the book is for the homeworks once a week, which are the most difficult part of the class. I would definitely reccommend taking him.
Briggs is great. He makes the hardest subject clear and easy. BEST eco professor on campus. I am taking him for micro and macro because he is that good, I dont even care that it is an 8am class. Book and attendence are not mandatory, just take the notes that he clearly writes on the board...oh and he usually scales testes about 10pts on avg
Honestly the only good thing about him is that he scales tests sometimes up to 16 points but thats only because everyone did horribly. He complicates things more than they need to be and his tests have different material than his notes. DO NOT TAKE HIS 8 am....
Briggs is a very difficult teacher. He is the first eco professor I have had, but I still find his exams difficult. Homework counts 25% which is a grade booster, but the tests are killer. Make sure you attend class even though its not required.
Briggs is the man. Easy, straightforward teaching. Scales exams. Only weekly homework. He's the man!
Great professor. WIll end up with a good grade after scale. Makes macro easy to understand. Dont buy the book.
doesnt take attendance but you need the notes to study for the exam. 3 exams, bases his exams right from the notes. study the notes and you're fine. he also curves the tests too ALL THE TIME. also, hw counts for 25% of grade, and you have to be stupid not to get a 100% in homework. great teacher, great class, easy to get a good grade. take briggs
DO NOT BUY THE TEXT BOOK. If you find someone with his notes/tests from the year before just use those. Going to class does help, but he doesn't care about attendance. you will never use the book so save your money. hes totally an econ nerd and loves the subject; maybe the only econ prof. that speaks perfect english. TAKE HIM.
Awesome teacher. Honestly take him if you can! He doesn't take attendance, but his exams are directly from the in class notes. Fair grader and curves the exam if the class average isn't around a 70.
He does not take attendance so it is your responsiblity to go to class or not. His exams are strictly from the class notes since the book is never used. The homework is due on Sunday nights, given once a week. Three exams, one being the final. Curves his exams so the average for the class is an 80.
Professor Briggs is the man! The only reason people do poorly in his class is because they skip often or don't study for his exams. He does a really good job of breaking things down and you can tell he loves economics! I would HIGHLY recommend him!
Weekly online assignment are worth 25% percent and are allowed to resubmitted until perfect. The last 75% is split up between three exams. The exams are pretty tough but I pulled off a 100+ (scaled) on everyone because I paid attention to the lectures and studied the notes. Attendance is not manadatory but I only missed class during reviews.
Doesn't use book. Don't buy it! Weekly assignments, unlimited tries to finish them. Exams are scaled so that the class' average is 80%. Lectures the whole class.
Lectures at the speed of lightning. Do not buy the textbook. Must pay attention from the first day of class. Learn from me, do not skip.
great professor, very straight forward, go to his office hours if you are struggling, he is also very entertaining during class
3 tests. %25 each. %25 is online homework grade. Used book for online hw and received 100's. GO TO CLASS. His lectures are entertaining but that is what he bases his tests off of. Although attendance isn't taken, just go to class and copy what he writes down regardless of your mental state. Makes hard concepts understandable. I'd take him again.
The absolute man. If you are just looking to get micro or macro out of the way, Briggs is the way to go. He scales so much for tests because he realizes how hard they can be. He never uses the textbook, but it is extremely helpful for homework problems. He's absolutely hilarious too.If you want an easy teacher, but still learn stuff, take Briggs.
Super solid professor. He gives long but clear lectures every class, does not use the textbook, and curves tests. He's such a chill guy, relatable and hilarious. Just go to class and passing should be a breeze.
He goes hard in the paint during lectures. Do the homework, study notes, and GO TO CLASS (but not mandatory). Guaranteed at least a B-
Must attend lectures to pass the class. There is a text book but he doesn't use it except for homework. All problems on the test are based off of lectures.
He was an amazing teacher. He made me fall in love with Macroeconomics. His lectures were long but he made them very interesting and understandable. The tests are hard but if you understand the material you can do really well because he scales a lot on the tests. There is not much homework either. I would take this class again in a heartbeat.
Briggs is the best professor I have ever taken. He curves every test obnoxiously so everyone does well. There is minimal homework and attendance is not taken. It is nearly impossible to do poorly in this class.
Even though Briggs lectures you the entire class, he makes it entertaining. His lectures are extremely informative and basically teaches what's going to be on the test. I would recommend going to office hours to get on his good size. 20 point + scale on tests too. Great guy, definitely reccommed.
This guy is a great teacher. You learn a lot in his class. You take a lot of notes in class but he writes everything you need to know on the board. He makes class entertaining too. Tests are hard, but he scales them. Overall, would definitely recommend.
This professor was my absolute favorite from Fall semester. His lectures are incredibly straight forward, he tells you what you need to know for exams so you aren't studying entire chapters. His tests are kind of difficult but he also scales them until the class avg. is an 80. Our tests got scaled at least 20 pts.
He is a good professor and is very spastic, which was good since I had him at 8:00am. He curves every test so that is always a plus. I just do not understand microeconomics so I still struggled.
Professor Briggs is a really nice and hilarious guy. He is super helpful in office hours, and highly recommend going there if you're struggling. His class is overall really hard and his tests are really hard too. If you hate Econ and aren't good at it, don't take his class. He does curve tests about 14 points, but getting an A is hard.
As much as I love this guy, his class is extremely hard. Yeah his exams are scaled generously, but it is still super hard to get close to an A. He is so funny and energetic, which is pretty helpful for an 8 AM. He also really helped me understand economics so much more than any other econ professor.
Briggs is the man. If you are not en Econ person his class is a must take. No textbook use and attendance is optional. His tests are made up of the lecture notes and he scales very generously. The project was fairly graded and he really helped me not be scared of economics. Best prof ever!!
Briggs without a doubt knows his stuff. dude lives and breaths economics. exams are based off notes so just pay attention. he has a review day and can often tell you what types of questions are on the exams. scales them too. one group project, graded very easily. very cool guy, i learned a lot, and not all too difficult
Briggs is a pretty interesting guy. Don't get me wrong he's hilarious but also kinda weird. If you don't care for economics and want an easy A or at least a B you should take him. Easy connect assignments, 3 or 4 tests scaled HEAVILY and an easy group project. I had him for 8am but easiest 8am I've had so far with just taking notes every time.
no textbook, 3 exams that are usually curved, lecture heavy but attendance isnt mandatory. Great professor, funny and makes class interesting. Homeworks on connect but never reviews them and only allows one attempt that counts towards your grade. I would recommend this professor
Professor Briggs was average. The class wasn't too hard the exams were curved because they were challenging. An essay but not bad and a group project that also wasn't hard. All he does is lecture which can get boring. I don't think he knew anybody's name the whole semester. Homework after every class but not time consuming. He's a fine choice.
This course only had 3 exams, a term paper, a group project and homework for the grade. The lectures are boring but easy to understand and attendance isn't mandatory but you definitely need to go and take notes for the exams.
This guy has like ADHD so none of my notes ever made sense. He makes you buy a textbook, but you can't follow it for lectures because he jumps around. He told us that the first exam covered every chapter but just the very beginning of each. We were told to read every chapter to prepare but stop when we don't know the information.
Chris Briggs is the goat. His class is pretty hard but if you go to class and pay attention you can figure most things out. He is absolutely hilarious and brings energy to the classroom that no other teacher brings. Highly recommend a class with Chris.
Probably the best lecturer for a 3 hour class at Bryant as he puts a lot of energy and effort into teaching! He knows his stuff and I learned a lot from him. Mcgrawhill resource is needed for homework assignments. He doesn't really prepare us for exams, but if you pay attention, review your notes, and write what you know, you should be fine.
This guy isn't funny at all. He's annoying and his exams do not reflect what he goes over in class. He only writes on the chalkboard and doesn't use Canvas at all. Had no idea what my grade was until it was in Banner.
