Chris Burnley makes class fun, he jokes around, but his greatest skill is that he can listen well to questions. Don't try to be lazy or screw around, because on a bad day he can have a short fuse. If you try hard, he'll help you out.

i dont see why this guys marks are so low, he was alot of help and he knows his teaching. i probably would have skipped more often if i didnt think he was a good teacher

He's a nice guy, but you must be prepared to work hard. And if you don't understand something don't wait until last minute to ask. He is o.k. overall.

This guy is pretty entertaining in class. You have to listen well in class and when he cracks a joke the whole class is usually laughing.

Chris is one of the funniest, smartest Professors in the campus. He is 200%helpful. If he taught second or third year accounting course, I would defenitely take his class again. Highly recommend:)

Chris is a great accounting teacher and made a course that I was dreading very fun and interesting. He has a great sense of humour and knows how to make his lectures fun! If you do the assigned problems, the tests are fine. He cares about your succcess, and is always willing to help. By far the best teacher I have had at university.

Great prof. Very straight forward and easy to follow. Super friendly, and makes an accounting class very engaging and entertaining. Very fair exams and quizes, if you do the practice questions and pay attention, you will do well. There are no suprises in his exams/quizes. Highly recommended.

One of the best professors around. This guy makes your degree credible by forcing you to know the material. The "poor quality" grades given by some are likely students who didn't come prepared or are poor writers. Use the writing center to your advantage and study at least 20+ hours for each test... even more for finals.

I've taken a few accounting classes with Burley, he's a beauty and explains everything very well. If you ever have problems he's willing to help you out no problem. All around probably the best Prof I've had at VIU. (I'm in my 4th year)

Chris's accounting class is great. He is organized with his material,always willing to help those who need it, and makes the material intersting. This is not an easy class by any means but if you work hard, attend class, and do you pre-assigned problems then you should be ok...Oh yeah, did I mention he's also smoking hot?! Very nice to look at....

If you actually do all the assigned problems and go to the seminars you will get a good mark. Chris wants you to do well and gets frustrated if students don't put in the effort. I highly recommend him, especially from what I've heard about the other ACCT 100 profs.

Excellent teacher. Loves the material that he teaches. Does get frustrated when some students don't put in a good effort. He expects a lot from his students but he covers all material in class. His test questions are always from the notes. Attend class, take good notes and and read the book and you will good.

Its been a few years since I had his class (11 I think) but even though it was the worst grade I had in University, and I only took 1 class with him, he was the best prof I had at that school. High standards and he genuinely wants to see people succeed. Top notch human being.

Best professor in the Accounting department. Had him as acct 100 instructor and loved the class. Same with Acct 335. He's not easy but fair. I love the class room discussions and he is very engaging!

Chris is the man! Sometimes our class would spend the first 20-30 minutes joking around and telling stories which made class very enjoyable. When the time comes, he knows how to get down to work and makes sure that everyone understands the material by using a number of fun examples.

You can Ace it! (week by week) the class & lectures are structured to your benefit & advantage. 1. (Prepare) review the upcoming weeks' CH, 2. Attempt Wiley Assign ahead of DD to address Q's in lectures, 3. Jot in class notes & probs on the CH's pages (excellent study tool) 4. Don't be intimidated to visit his office for HW help or class advice.

Chris is who inspired me to become an accounting major. He is the best teacher I have ever had and I am so excited to take another class with him. To succeed, you must attend class & seminars, redo his practice questions & online assignments, and ask questions! Chris gives plenty of material to prepare for tests, making it easy to prepare.

Let's try your best. Practice and practice daily. At the beginning, I got D and I was really upset. However, find your mates to study with and practice helped me got B in final exam! It was unforgettable course!

Chris is the best prof I've had to date, in accounting or otherwise. He presents difficult material in a way that's easy to understand. He constantly provides real life examples to support his teachings. He makes it easy to prepare for tests and there are no surprises. Above all, he has a sense of humour and won't hesitate to poke fun at himself.

This prof is definitely one of the most knowledgeable in his field, and very solid lectures. He can be a difficult grader but it is understandable given the class he is teaching. The class will not be easy if you take his class, but you will learn a lot from it. Would recommend to first year business students.

He's a tough marker, but is knowledgeable and seems to be well respected in his profession outside of school. He knew us by name and created a proactive learning environment. He is excellent at refining concepts to key points, which really helped me grasp the material fully by the end of the semester. Spent about 10-12 hours a week studying.

The course material is not super hard but there is a lot of it and Chris does a great job of making it as interesting as it can be. You have to do the work in this class to do well. I look forward to taking classes with him again.

Man, this was a tough one. Don't get me wrong, he is a very good prof, but it was like getting punched in the mouth repeatedly. Likes to give lots of narrative based marks in his test problems. I put in so much studying only to get a less than optimal grade, so that's a fair warning before you take his class.

Chris is the best prof at VIU. You can tell he cares about his students and will go out of his way to help if you just ask. He is so funny and his lectures are always fun. His tests rely heavily on questions done in class and he likes to put word problems where you have to describe concepts.
