He gives you the questions to all the quizzes at begging of semester. Only thing you have to do is look them up in book and memorize them. Has papers that you turn in on day of exam that are worth 15 points He grades them very easy. Exams are half questions he gives in packet and half lecture notes. Overall fun teacher, young and very knowledgeable
He's a great professor, very charming and super funny, he can explain stuff in his way that you can understand. There's 4 quiz (1 droppable) , 4 exams and 2 essays. Super easy class, he gives questions and study guide before hand. EASY A
Very engaging and knowledgable teacher. You know what to expect. Take him!
Makes research psychology fun and interesting. There's some group work. 2 Mini Research projs & 1 final research paper. Quizzes are based on readings in the book, not hard at all. Midterm and final based on class notes. Definitley would recommend him. He's a cool teacher and very helpful!
Chris is awesome and hilarious! He has very interesting and engaging lectures. The tests and quizzes are not hard as long as you look over the notes in class. AND he gives a lot of extra credit so you can easily get an A. I looked forward going to class and I learned so much. I highly recommend!!
Mr. Cappozzo is a beyond amazing teacher. I took his summer class and did very well. He is extermely helpful and lectures in a way that's very easy to understand. If you attend class, pay attention to his key points and study of his study guide there is no way you can fail. I worked really hard within the 6 weeks and earned an A. Must take!
Mr. Capozzo is definitely one of the best teachers at DVC. I learned a lot, even during the summer crunch session. I've taken two classes from Chris Capozzo- I would highly recommend any class that he teaches.
He is really good and funny instructor. He tells good examples and story to make lecture more interest. He also have good personality. He answers to every questions during class. quizes and 40% of exam questions are from work book. There will be two pages of two reflect paper during semester but he give good point with it.
By far the best psychology teacher at DVC. He is absolutely amazing. Very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. He makes the subject interesting. I've taken both his psych 130 and 215 classes and although he repeats a couple funny stories, he is the most amazing teacher. TAKE HIM!
One of the best professors ever. He makes lectures interesting. Plus, though the material is hard yet he makes it assessable. He gives you a workbook with quiz and partial test questions, and is super super helpful. He literally gives you every opportunity to receive an A, just study and you're set.
Favorite class ever. What you'll learn about is interesting and he is actually really funny. He really is one of the best professors out there, people aren't just saying that. TAKE THS CLASS!!
Interesting and entertaining, I think everyone basically covered it. Requires a ton of studying, but put in the effort and you will do well. Not a class to slack in, so worth it though
Hands down best teacher at DVC-they're lucky to have him. He's very knowledgable on the subject and all related subjects. He's always willing/able to answer questions, and he can keep the class engaged, and ACTUALLY KNOWS HOW TO TEACH! Interesting, straightforward lectures. Not exactly an "easy A". Requires study time and effort to get the grade.
Enjoyed this class, he made things really approachable-it was a difficult class but fun and with work you can for sure get an A. He's a really cool guy and an amazing teacher. He's really energetic, entertaining, and funny
Excellent teacher. A handbook with multiple choice questions is given at the beginning of the semeser. Questions for quizzes come straight from that book. Half of the test questions come from there too. The other half comes from lectures. Have two short essays. Thats it. He makes the class so fun. Take his class!!
Great teacher, funny guy, makes classes interesting, multiple choice exams, get the book , easy A take it
One of my favorite professors at DVC. He's a fantastic teacher. Lectures are interesting and easy to follow. He's funny, he's entertaining, he speaks clearly, he engages the class in the lectures, and he's very knowledgeable about the subject. Quizzes and tests are straight from the workbook. This class is an easy A, and you learn the subject well.
I think he's an interesting, and great teacher. I think people take advantage of his easiness though. I like the class his lectures are clear. The only nitpicking thing I could say is that I find it weird when he swears.
I liked him because he didn't make it impossible to do well like some other teachers do. If you pay attention and study, he will give you the grade you deserve. Very fair, entertaining, and knowledgable teacher. No complaints. Take him!
He is a very good teacher and an easy A. He teaches the subject well and is very clear. There are 4 tests, 4 quizzes, and 2 short essays. the tests and quizzes are very easy, as long as you study.
Great guy, super clear, fun, excited all the time, really makes the class fun and I looked forward to attending always. He's always willing to help and answer questions, emails, and he is kind of a goof ball but very nice. Keep up with reading and take good notes in class, get the workbook too and the tests will be easy, and the quizzes a breeze.
I love Chris' class!! He is an amazing teacher!! Funny, personable, and very smart. He makes me excited to come to class every day. Great guy all around. Class is not too demanding work-wise, and the lectures are super fun and interesting. Take him!!!
One of my favorite teachers at DVC. Take him!
many quizzes, 3 exams, 2 papers. He even prints out the powerpoint for student.
Really, really good teacher!!! His class is easy because his lectures are so helpful. You can tell he really prepares his lectures and knows what he is talking about. This was my most interesting class, and he is one of the best teachers I've ever had!! Take his class!!!
he is a great teacher. his lectures are so clear that I didn't open the textbook once and still got an A on all the quizzes and tests. his power points are well done and easy to navigate. if you show up and pay attention you should have no problem passing this class. he checks attendance rarely but being there makes it easier
Capozzo is a nice teacher who tries to be interesting. He's very fair and clear on how to do well in his class. The quizzes are easy if you read the book and use his workbook. Unfortunately, "Death by powerpoint" mainly comes to mind when I remember this class. I wasn't motivated or excited by the lecture and I was always so happy when it ended.
Subject is fascinating and class is a breeze. All multiple-choice exams and two short papers. Professor is light-hearted and funny. Textbook is accessible and direct. Seemed like most students enjoyed the course.
There is quiz or midterm every week or two week, but that's nothing hard.
Capozzo was a great teacher! We had a more quieter class so lectures were kinda awkward, but he has a great teaching style and really cares about the students!
Need easy units? This would be the class. Super cool guy, class is super chill. Just take notes on his lectures and you'll be good! Tests come right off the study guide ! quizzes are most likely take home ! and NO HOMEWORK!!!
I never knew I would look finding out what Psychology is all about until I took Mr. Capozzo. In a 6 week session in summer of 2014, I was kind of excited what I would expect to learn from the class. Right from the first step to the last day of class, he's a great teacher in lecture and making students feel comfortable. He's fun and he'll help you!
He is pretty straight forward. No guessing on what he is going to quiz or test you on. Gives a great study guide for midterms and final. He is a great professor! I would highly recommend him.
Very funny and friendly, makes even some boring subject matter a little more interesting because he's so enthusiastic about psychology. Long lectures and good examples, take lots of notes I found the lectures help more than the book as far as studying for the exams.
It's my pleasure to attend Capozzo's lectures. Many professors condense material prepare students for their exams but Capozzo gave us a great general overview of Psych. He clearly tells us how what we are learning directly relates to current psychology and how psychologists feel about what he is teaching. Take his course! Educational & enjoyable.
Capozzo was a very good professor. He is one of my favorites at DVC. I would highly recommend that if you enjoy psychology, that you take this class.
Prof. Capozzo was pretty hilarious, but he likes to TALK. He always takes the full class time, up to the very last second of it. However, the material was pretty easy to digest and all the quizzes he gave are form a test bank booklet that he provides. The exams were pretty easy if you read! Very knowledgeable, but can go on tangents sometimes.
Great teacher with an actual sense of humor! Class can get tough when trying to understand the concepts, but he makes them clear through great examples! He tends to use the same example over and over though. Only a few tests which he gives study guides for and whats on the study guide is on the test. READ the book for the quiz!
This guy is awesome 2 papers, 4 exams and chapter quizzes. For the exam he gives study guides and follows them to a T. Chapter quizzes are so easy he gives you 25-30 questions in a packet and then picks ten to test you on. He lectures are good funny encourages participation. I hate talking to teacher but this guy, i can talk to him.
Chris is the best professor I have ever meet at DVC. He cares about every student. He is not a hard grader. I take his psy130 and 215. I see him every day, you can tell how much I love him. He knows what he is talking about. He knows how to teach. He gives workbook so that you will know every quiz question before you take them. He is funny as well.
Very friendly and approachable. He is very clear and thorough in his lectures. He is more than happy to answer any questions students have, gives plenty of opportunities to ask, and doesn't make you feel stupid for asking. He has an amazing talent for taking a very daunting and potentially boring class and making it fun and engaging for students.
Awesome teacher! If I were to become a teacher in the future, he is the teacher I would want to model. Lectures are interesting and he is hilarious. He is very clear on what is on the tests. I applied so much of what he taught into my life. He is possibly the best teacher I have ever had.
This class that could potentially be very confusing and hard to understand due to the biology concepts. Capozzo makes everything so easy to understand, his powerpoints are always posted online for you to print out and bring to class, and he tells you EXACTLY what will be on the tests. If you fail, it's completely your fault. Take him! He's funny to
I was unsure of the class at first, but it is mandatory for the degree. Chris has realistic expectation for his students in regards to Research Methods, with clear grading criteria fo the 2 papers. And the study guides for the exams let you know what to read in the book that wasn't covered in lecture. His lectures are engaging and interesting!
Very relatable and engaging. super smart (obviously) but doesn't make you feel like a half wit. makes information totally digestible and fascinating. show up, pay attention and you'll pass his class. BUT passing his class completely inspired, with so much more knowledge than you came with, THAT is the icing on the cake.
Chris is a great teacher! At the beginning of the semester, he gives you a quiz packet with all the questions on the quizzes, you just need to find the answers! He is very quirky, has a lot of energy, and has a positive light about him. I recommend not procrastinating on the two essays, they come up very quickly and its dreadful to do last second.
Such an engaging professor. I could listen to him lecture all day. Should be teaching at the UC level. DVC has quite the gem on their hands. I have read ever book he has mentioned in class and watched every film. His class has been priceless in my educational journey. Gives thorough study guides. Tests aren't easy but totally do-able.
Prof. Capozzo is a solid choice for anyone who needs a social science class. He makes psychology very interesting and he lets you know what to review for the exams. I HIGHLY recommend not to skip class; even if you do a bad review for the tests, the discussions you have in his class will definitely get you an A.
Capozzo's a funny dude. Always making jokes. He's very knowledgeable about his discipline, and each exam includes a study guide. You should be pretty set up for success in this course!
As long as you listen to what he says and do the study guides, you'll do great with the tests. Just pay attention and thankfully his lectures don't get boring.
Prof. Capozzo is the best Psych prof HANDS DOWN. His grading rubric is very clear for papers. Easy A. He's lecture heavy, but he is interesting & uses funny examples so we can remember the material. Capozzo hands out optional study guides w/ 50 questions each before exams. Do it bcus the test questions are in order of the study guide. Easy A class!
Everyone love Capozzo! You can't go wrong with him. He' very clear with what he expects and is super humble. Five exams, 50 questions. DO THE STUDY GUIDES, because the questions from there are basically the exam questions. Offers a decent amount of extra credit throughout the semester to help you out. Also an essay, with a clear rubric!
Amazing psychology teacher. Would recommend for anyone to take. is an amazing lecturer and has a great comedic personality.
He is a great professor. His classes are super fun and interesting. We have a quiz for each chapter. Quizzes are a bit hard, but he gives you a study guide for them. Over all I do recommend him!
An easy, yet insightful class. 2 short papers. A couple multiple choice tests. Final is NOT accumulative (which was relieving). Powerpoints are online so you can review for an exam by filling out the study guide he provides OR if you miss class. A straightforward, simple class. He's kinda funny too.
Chris Capozzo was such an amazing professor. He was funny and engaging and he literally gave you the answers to the exams and all the information you need for your papers in his lectures. Just memorize the vocabulary for the lessons he was lecturing on in the book and write notes on his lectures and your set for the whole semester.
Probably the best professor Ive taken at DVC! He tries to make the class as interesting as possible and really wants you to learn the material and succeed. All questions on the exams are covered by the study guides; he gives study guides before every test so use them! Hes super cool and funny as well and makes the class fun!
I've taken his class many times and he is one of the best professors at DVC. You can tell he really loves his job. He gives opportunity for extra credit and is accessible via office hours or anything else you need. If you study and pay attention to lectures you're guaranteed an A. It's not a hard class at all if you put in the effort.
Chris Capozzo is an amazing instructor. This is a fun and interesting class. Definitely worth taking! Mr. Capazzo is fair, understanding and willing to work with you if you have extenuating circumstances. Just show up, do the reading, quizes and 2 of the film reflections & you'll be good!
Great professor. Unlike other psych courses, this one made me work for my grade. Lectures are nicely done, does his best to keep class engaged. Quizzes every week which are very doable if you use the textbook as reference. I always over-studied for the exams, which always made them a lot better than I expected. Show up, study, and you'll be fine.
Very informative in the teachings of research psych.
I took 130 and 215 with Chris and he is great. His lectures are interesting, interactive, and funny! There are group discussions, but no projects. He gives quizzes every week, but use the book to fill out the study guides and youll ace them. Same with tests. He cares about the material. You will learn a lot. You wont regret taking his class!
I took his class long time ago , and his lectures are the reason for which I did so well on my upper classes and labs . What you learn there stay with you ! Now Im taking a master and I still look back to his notes . He is one of the best professor I ever had !
He is so easy to work with. He does let you make up late work if you communicate with him. His lectures are so interesting so it's not hard to pay attention. There were 3 papers (you can choose to do just 2), weekly quizzes, a midterm exam, and a final exam. Pick him!
Very enthusiastic and outgoing prof. Easy quizzes, with all tests, stems given to you beforehand. Tests only two, midterm, and final. Do the study guide, because tests follow questions very closely. Downside goes off-topic very fast and wastes a lot of class time answering random psy questions. Highly knowable in his field. Recommend this class!
Incredibly entertaining. He gives a study guide for all the quiz questions which are multiple choice, so as long as you prepare for those beforehand, you're good. When we moved online, he handled it well and recorded his lectures for us to view anytime. All quizzes were multiple choice
One of the best professors Ive EVER had. He is so passionate about the subject, does his best to give everyone resources, easy to follow and useful lectures, funny, gives you ALL the quiz questions and provides great study guides. The class is easy and you learn. Im literally keeping all my notes because they were so helpful.
What a great professor! I took this class online this semester and he did an excellent job posting in depth lectures and giving students regular feedback on assignments. He made the subject interesting and doesn't assign too much work. Would definitely take a class with him again.
Good professor. He makes lecture videos on canvas as well as power points. Theres a discussion post and usually a quiz due every week. Class is pretty simple and easy to understand. You get two tries on every quiz so that helps u get a 10/10. Overall, watch the lectures and read the textbook and you'll get an A.
AMAZING! This Prof prepared me better than any other DVC psych teacher. You learn real substance in this class. 1 discussion post, 2 replies, and 1 quiz a week. Quizzes get 2 attempts, but make sure you go over lectures and skim texts before taking them. Study guide (SG) for exam. Some questions on exam only in textbook. Find all SG questions.
Prof. Capozzo is inspiring and thoughtful! His lectures were engaging, despite them being online. His class consists of weekly discussions, quizzes, and 3 exams. They're all very easy, and honestly, as long as you take notes during his lectures, you'll pass everything else. If you don't understand something, he is always happy to help!
Everyone has pretty much covered it all and I agree. He's a legend IMO. My two cents is that you should definitely go see him during office hours and pick his brain, especially if you're into evolutionary or bio psych. Chill, understandable and enjoyable lectures.
During Covid, exams (midterm and final) and weekly quizzes were open-note/book so take good notes and you'll be fine. Discussion post every week and at least 2 replies. Posted asynchronous Zoom lecture videos (his commentary is funny) and supplementary Youtube videos/documentaries. Provides good feedback on your discussion posts. 10/10 recommend
Professor Chris is an amazing teacher who truly cares about his students. He makes the content realistic, useful, and clear. Everything you do in this course has practical reasons and does not mess around with fluff presented in the material. He is a caring guy who wants to see his students learn and succeed. The textbook was occasionally used.
Easy A if you put the work in, take notes from his lectures, participate in online group discussions, & read the textbook :)
I hated this class's material, honestly, but Chris made it more tolerable. He's really accessible if you need/want it, his lectures are clear and very interesting, and he always puts in extra time to give everyone feedback on everything they turn in. Just put in some time. He clearly did his best with online learning. He's a great professor.
This is the second class I took with Chris. Once again, I didn't love the actual course content, but he made it so much more bearable. The bulk of the work is a research project you work on consistently throughout the semester. It's fun depending how much you invest. Don't cram it please. Weekly quizzes are easy, midterm and final are fine too.
This class made me dislike psychology and change my major. He is a great teacher but I am not one for research papers and the curriculum taught was just not what I intend to continue learning about. The quizzes and tests were very doable and all but I can't say I didn't contemplate dropping this class a couple of times.
Manageable course, and clear expectations for the class. Highly recommend!
Really couldn't be better. Guy never missed a beat, is communicative, organized, an responsive. I had Professors not grade assignments until the last couple weeks of class. This guy took the time to write a response to nearly every discussion post. Couldn't recommend more. For an online class, this was the best I've ever taken
I'm currently more than half way through his class. He's a great professor, but VERY passionate about what he teaches. Great & all, but that means tons of assignments, hard chapter quizzes, difficult exams (3) and essays. I wouldn't take him again, but he was nice. This is not a class for an easy A, or using quizlet. Ths is HARD work.
Nice professor but don't be too fooled by the good reviews. His class has been extremely hard, and will have you reading/ watching lectures for hours. He's very good at what he does and leaves thoughtful feedback, but nothing about his class is easy. Think twice about taking this class, it's very hard.
Best professor of all time. Super funny and gives very detailed feedback. Exams and quizzes are super easy and are based on the lecture content. His grading is very straightforward and generous. Definitely take him!!!
I took Chris for both research methods and biopsych! He is a very dedicated professor and will do what he can to help you out if you reach out to him! There are weekly quizzes (two attempts), discussions, a midterm, and a final in both classes. If you actually do the readings and watch the lectures, you will have an easy time in the class.
Amazing course and amazing professor.
As much as Professor Capozzo was a great teacher, I did find his class kind of difficult. I love psychology but this class was tough. Would I have Capozzo as a professor again? Yes. But I definitely had some times where I thought about dropping. He's very understanding but the work, you definitely have to work for. It may be hard to follow.
Prof. Capozzo is awesome. If you watch the lectures, read the material, and study for the midterm/ final you will pass with an A. He makes his lectures engaging with humor and quirky stories, explains concepts well, and is good at creating discussion posts that bring out individual thinking. I hope he's teaching other Psych classes I've got left.
love his lectures, i can def sense his personality and i can tell he cares about the subject matter. u NEED textbook to get a good grade on quizzes and exams. can retake an easy 10 question quiz 2 times. he also actually reads ur discussion posts based on his responses! i would def take him again!
He is such a great professor. I appreciated his video lectures, his sense of humor really shines through. He is always ready to help during student zoom hours and genuinely cares for his students. His class is challenging but he really sets you up for success with great class structure, support and lectures.
Though he is a good teacher, he is very assignment heavy. He posts two videos on Monday (at least 1 hour each and most of the time much longer) and expects responses by the following Wednesday. He'll also expect a lot of paper drafts, information, etc. in the same week and doesn't reduce any other assignments based on extra assignments he's given.
There's a lot to do in his class, and it can often feel overwhelming. However, he is easy to work with, kind, and is lectures are entertaining enough that I didn't feel bored learning. If you're able to handle a lot of assignments, he is great.
Professor Capozzo is an absolute boss of a teacher! He is communicative and very straightforward. He does not give you bs and keeps it a hundred which makes him respectable. He is human and will be honest about his triumphs and failures which makes him relatable. He is understanding and wants to see you succeed. Take this class!
Yes this class is on the heavier side, there is a good amount of reading/writing (if you want to do well) and lectures to watch. But he is very available for feedback/help and has clear guidelines of expectations/grading. I am taking him again for Psych 130. Definitely one of the better professors at DVC.
The lectures are great, his humor is a great touch to liven up the content, and the format of the class is super organized. There is usually a weekly quiz with 2 attempts and a discussion. If you pay attention his lecture videos and skim the short chapter reads from the online text you'll do great.
100% take any Chris Capozzo course. He is hilarious which makes his long lectures easier to follow and pay attention to. Two large exams and weekly discussion posts. I would be mindful if you do not have time for 2-3 one-hour lectures weekly, but other than that this is a very easy and manageable course.
Amazing thoughtful professor. The only thing that was really hard about this class was the research papers. Don't be fooled.. they are TOUGH and take so LONG to finish. Though I did it last minute, my final took me 3 days(nonstop) until before midnight. He is also a pretty tough grader on the papers, but only because he wants you to succeed!
such a nice guy, funny, great lectures altho long, responds to emails super fast, clear instructions, good feedback. weekly discussion posts, a couple big papers, and a few midterms. its a little bit of work but its expected for this class.
He's a super nice & accessible professor who gives great feedback. There are a lot of lectures but they are not required to watch (do help if you struggle with a concept). The most difficult assignment was the research paper that he is critical about but is very helpful and is not impossible by any means. tldr: It is a lot of work but he's great.
he's the best professor ive taken so far at dvc! so kind+ caring for his students. roughly 3 hours of lecture per week + reading; a discussion due on wednesday so you have to watch the lectures/ read the text before doing the discussions. quick quizzes at the end of the week w/ 2 attempts. responds quickly+ is understanding. highly recommend him!
Amazing lectures, and honestly very clear on the grading scale. Assignments weren't bad, but make sure to do them, as they are weighed quite heavily. Tests were also pretty good, as the questions on the study guide were almost the exact same. Seemed very accessible out of class as well, and honestly a great person.
Professor Capozzo was an excellent professor! What I loved most about his class is the feedback provided with every assignment. You can tell he wants to connect with his students, even if it is fully online. He provides office hours twice weekly, so please utilize this if you need! He gives great advice on work and answers questions.
Professor Capozzo's PSY130 class is a blast - his lectures are engaging with the right amount of humor to keep you entertained. The workload is manageable if you stay on top of the readings and assignments. Unstuck AI is a helpful tool for preparing for quizzes and exams.
Great lectures, great topics of weekly discussions, the way the online class is structured is easy to follow, you know what to expect from week 1 all through the end of the semester. If you are considering between Prof Capozzo and another Prof, please choose Capozzo, he is great, funny, and you will learn so much!
My second time taking one of his online classes, and he's just the best. Definitely not an easy A, you need to want to learn!! Super smart and super nice. His lectures are never boring. Leaves detailed feedback on all assignments, responds to emails in great detail, very empathetic… he just genuinely cares. Favorite professor I've ever had at Dvc!
Professor Capozzo clearly loves what he teaches. There are lectures and videos to watch online but they are far more interesting than reading a textbook. He provides very thorough and constructive feedback which is very helpful. The class consists of discussion posts, quizzes, midterm and a final, there are no papers to write. Absolutely recommend!
This is seriously the most laid back class I've ever took
Very easy and chill class! Would def recommend if you want to have an easy semester
The kindest professor. He deserves 6/5 stars!! Such a clear agenda each week, such good feedback, and a very understanding professor.
