Nice guy who made difficult material much easier to grasp. Answers questions clearly. Tests were as expected (multiple choice.) If you go to class and study, you will be just fine. Can't remember the attendance policy.

Class was extremely boring. Attendance required. All in all, the tests were easy and as long as you study the practice exams online, you'll do fine. His exams almost come directly from the Practice Problems. Easy.

Great teacher. Made me want to major in economics. Class was tough, but good. Hated that attendance was required.

Study the practice problems for the exams. They really help and the multiple choice is the same or extremely similar to ones on the exams. The final is cumlative and very hard. I think there was a huge curve on the final. Lectures are boring but the exams aren't too bad, still have to study to get an A.

THIS MAN IS NOT FUNNY, only thinks he is. The class is soo boring.. but that's because he lectures straight from his handouts online and still expects you to be in class. His attendance policy is a pain in the butt! I mean i'd take him again because as long as you study you'll do well

Great professor! Gives great examples and teaches the material well. Talks a lot! No absenses or a point of your final grade! Must study for tests, but if you show up for every class then they aren't too hard. Hard professor but if your willing to work hard it's a good class.

This class was hard, but i went into the final exam with a C and made a B+ in the class so i cant complain. He's a nice guy.

Excellent Teacher. He's very excited and enthusiastic about economics. He's sort of goofy, but he means well. Just go to class and do his homework and you'll be pretty much set for the tests. Nice guy, very willing to help.

Overall, the class was easy relative to others but only if you studied. There was no homework which was nice and there was no textbook-all notes online. Dr. Dumas is really nice and always willing to help, attendance wasn't mandatory but go if you want to get an A. He's pretty funny too- I'd take a class from him again. Would recommend.

Dumas is a nice guy but not an easy class. The only grades were the three tests, so it was a must study for class. No text book which was nice but not a favorite class of mine.

Good guy, he is an egghead but in a good way. He believes that the more he teaches you the better the world will be. Plus, he can teach a monkey economics.

Dumas is a GREAT professor! He tries as hard as he possibly can to keep economics interesting. He loves economics & loves teaching it. If you go to class everyday you can easily get an A.

A nice and funny guy but such a hard class! Econ is known to be hard and he doesn't help that case... tests are sooo hard and multiple choice are very tricky! I think there is probably a better teacher for this course.

Dumas is a great guy. He is very enthusiastic and makes economics somewhat interesting. His tests are EXTREMELY HARD though. The multiple choice killed me every time. From what I've heard about other professors in the department, Dumas is the right call.

Dumas shows great enthusiasm for teaching. The subject matter can get boring, but he makes an attempt to hold your interest. Tests are a little difficult, but he offers extra credit on nearly every exam. Make sure you prepare adequately.

Dr. Dumas is great. the subject is not interesting and he knows that so he tries to make it a little fun, he is funny in his own way. there are no quizzes which is a relief, just 3 tests and a final. and he told us he'll curve the grades at the end of the semester. Take him.

Dumas made economics interesting. I was worried getting into that class, but i now kind of like economics because of him. his handouts are clear and explains everything, reading them is like having a teacher explaining in class. 3 tests and a final gives handouts and HW problems with solutions, you dont have to turn the hw in. curves too.

EVS/ECN-325 Dumas makes this class interesting, go to class and do the HW and the exams are very straight foward and easy.

Dr. Dumas is the best! No book, just uses handouts. Gives plenty of examples for exams. His exams aren't easy but if you do the homework and go to class everyday you can make an A in the class. He is goofy but it keeps class entertaining. He is more than willing to help if you need it - I honestly love going to his class! Definitely recommend him!

don't buy the book. all test questions come from his notes in class. Quizzes are pretty easy he gives you 5 and no exam. and gave TONS of extra credit. like 100 points of extra credit.Attendence is mandatory and his classes are a little boring but bring your laptop and facebook through his lecture.

Created his own text via .pdf files on his website; they're very detailed and well organized. Dr. Dumas has a quirky personality and good sense of humor that keeps class interesting for business majors. Obviously, if you're interested in economics anyway, you'll enjoy it regardless.

Dumas is a favorite professor of mine. Great personality and teaching style. He even makes up for not using a textbook by writing his own notes, handouts, and practice problems which make studying so much easier.

Dumas made this class bearable. He's a very lively guy, and he's always in a good mood. Sometimes he even brings food/candy for the class. The material is easy enough, and the tests are a breeze if you study beforehand. The students in that class were incredibly obnoxious though. Honors freshman econ buffs are almost as bad as film studies majors.

Great teacher who provides his own text via downloadable .pdf files (which are much more digestable than most textbooks). His high energy and quirky sense of humor make class very fun. Sometimes he goes a bit past the class end time, but that's little to be worried about.

Dr. Dumas is a great guy but you have to work for your grade. He's there to help but not give you answers. He's a bit lazy, but it works to your advantage (ie - study his handouts, the tests are always almost identical) He's a funny guy but his tangents do get a little annoying. Overall he's a great teacher and wants you to learn!

He's definitely one of the best teachers at UNCW. He does have a tendency to ramble sometimes, but they're usually funny rants. He made this class very easy to understand, and made me like going to class.

DUMAS IS THE MAN!!!! I definitely recommend you take his class. He is always cracking jokes and explains difficult material in a way everyone can understand. All his notes are online and you don't need a textbook. The only grades for the class are 4 tests but the are actually easy. Definitely take DUMAS if you can!

Dumas is great!! Only 4 tests given no other work. Tests are exact replicas of practice problems posted on his website. Don't have to take notes, he posts them up for you as well. Easy concepts, funny guy, Easy A.

I really enjoyed his class, he's a funny guy with a lot of knowledge. As long as you read his example problems online before the test, you will do fine. His tests are pretty much the same. I would defiantly take him again!

Dumas is very knowledgeable and passionate about teaching international business. He is always willing to help with anything you don't understand. He always does his best to make class fun. If you show up and pay attention in class, you will almost certainly do well.

Dumas is so awesome! I am actually disappointed that I won't get to take him for another course. The secret to his class is doing the homework - some of the exam questions are taken straight from the assignments andor the handouts that he posts online. Incredibly easy and he will crack you up so many times throughout the semester - even at 8am!

Dumas is a great guy. Entertaining and a great teacher. His tests aren't bad as long as you do the homework and I found the material pretty interesting. Also he has all his notes online and no textbook! Definitely taking him again!

He's an expert at teaching Microeconomics. Hands down best teacher I've ever had. This guy truly knows his stuff and is able to break things down to a level anyone can understand. He took things slow and used a lot of repetition in his lectures which was fantastic. He's a passionate teacher who truly cares about his students. Take Dumas!

I love dr Dumas!! he is one of my favorites for sure I've had him for iINB300 and macroeconomics.. he is super easy and straight to the point, just read his study guides before the exams you will be A-okay.. he doesn't really give much hw but tons of EC!

This class is NOT easy, it's a ton of calculus but Dumas is a master at teaching it. He goes through every little step to make sure you understand. I suggest brushing up on the basics of calculus before the course because that's what will kill you in this class. Dumas is also hilarious, so even though it's difficult, you look forward to class.

Professor Dumas is amazing! We started off the semester in person but then we moved to Zoom. The classes got a little more dry and boring online and the homework sometimes took a long time but nothing horrible. It was an interesting class and I encourage all of you to become a sustainability minor.

The sweetest professor I've ever had at UNCW. Ended class early once to get flowers for his mom. Only assignments are canvas quizzes and sets them due couple days apart so have plenty of time to do them. He does grade Zoom attendance so make sure you show up!

He's very clear in his expectations (which aren't a lot) and is a very nice, accessible teacher. The class is entirely lecture-based with weekly quizzes, but if you show up you'll be fine. The material isn't hard and while the lectures aren't very interactive, he makes it interesting! Also, don't buy the textbook for EVS195-- you don't need it.

Dr. Dumas focuses his class on actual learning instead of grades. His three exams are take-home, the homework is participation credit, and he will always take the time to explain topics in class. Clearly cares about his students and his topic, please take a class with him!

Small class size, and it is a combo grad class as well. He grades attendance so show up, but he is understanding if you miss. Never grades so you won't really know how you are doing till the end but he is a very easy grader. Just homework and open notes tests. He will answer any questions you have over email, even for tests.

Amazing guy, best teacher ever. He does talk about personal life a lot but gives great life advice. The only thing we have are quizzes on chapters, all open note open book and are word for word from the PowerPoints. You have to go to class to pass, strict on attendance but is understanding. So kind and caring. If you can, take him.

He is very motivated about the lectures. The excitement he carried with him made you look forward to the lectures. Yeah, the quizzes were somewhat of a pain, but if you listen and understand the lecture you would do fine. Attendance is mandatory since it is a part of the grade, but it's fine because the lecture are really worth going to.

I had Dr. Chris Dumas for EVS/ECN 325 (Environmental Economics). Final Exam is not cumulative. Exams are the same material as the homework. Not going to class negatively impacts your grade. Dumas has an upbeat attitude and will answer any questions you got. Grade Breakdown: Attendance 10% 11 Homework Assignments 30% 3 Exams (20% each)

Good class, lectures can be heavy and sometimes a bit tedious or boring. Work is a bit difficult, but manageable and Dr. Dumas takes into account that the material is hard and looks more for effort than for success. He makes sure that he can help in any manner possible. He is funny and easygoing but sometimes can run overtime.

Professor Dumas is the funniest professor ever. He's amazing at really making sure you understand the topics. There are a few homework assignments that can be long but the class is easy in itself.
