You can't get out easy in these classes due to the material, although, I think she is exceptionally hard (in testing). You have to be pretty motivated to do well, and spend every spare moment studying. She's the most caring teacher, and has genuine desire to help you learn. She's VERY passionate about biology which makes it more interesting. You will learn your studying threshold. Recommended teacher. One of my favorites.

She's okay. Easy: NO, her tests and practical labs are crazy, I never study and feel so overwhelming before. You should take Sam Shabb or others instead (beside Kaddee Lawrence). Good luck

She makes sure that we understand the material. Willing to meet with you at your convinience to discuss the materilal. Tests are hard. Study hard.

Chris is awesome! She made this extremely intense class so fun and enjoyable. She expected the best from her students and she gave the best of herself. She gave all students the opportunity to succeed. I would love to take another class with her and would recommend her to anyone. She is truly the best teacher I have ever had.

Chris is a very hard teacher, but I have learned a lot in this class. She got me motivated in the course, and she is very helpful if you want to know anything, and she arranged a way to answer any questions that you got. She make her class very fun and beneficial at the same time, she's definitely one of my favorite teacher.

She's so funny and she's a great as a person. I'm always entertained with how she teaching on the human body. Since this is a hybrid courses, you have to be the one to keep up with the reading at home, she provides lots of useful sources on studying on the website too. You just need to use them. But Biology is intense study in general.

I was super excited for this class before taking it because I had it at my other school. Let's just say this class made me wanna quit school sometimes. IT'S SO HARD! The teacher is a good teacher, it's just that it's insanely difficult to study for this course. Be prepared to breathe anatomy!!!

this was the hardest class i have ever taken. her tests are insane. you basically will have no life and be stressed 24/7. i got a 3.3 in the class but am taking her for ap2 again because at least ill know what to expect. crazy intense class.

Micro is crazy!!!! She takes off points for the SMALLEST things ever. You have to do it EXACTLY how she wants. tests are hard. study 24/7!!

This is a hard course and she expects alot out of you but if you are there to learn you will do just that. She is very clear on her expectations. I have had her for AP 1 & 2 and Micro and I think she is one of the BEST teachers I have ever had. Be prepared to study your butt off!!!

i took her for ap1 and 2 and i did okay (3.3, 3.7). but i got a 2.4 in micro with her because she grades SUPER hard on ALL assignments in this class. i regretted not dropping this class but i heard there's no better instructor.

BEST MICROBIOLOGY/ANATOMY&PHYSIOLOGY PROFESSOR!! Her lectures are awesome!I took her for AP1,AP2 & 260 &got a 4.0 in all of them. It was NOT EASY but I've learned ALOT! She will make you work hard to get that 4.0! Definitely will prepare you for nursing school!She's very ORGANIZED, very SMART and best of all, she CARE for her students.

Best professor I have ever had!! Lectures are entertaining. The class is overall very difficult but is very interesting. She grades super duper fast and is very clear on what her expectations are. Definitely taking her for ap2.

i ended up 4.0ing. its not about how hard the class is, its about how motivated you are to learn the material. but she is super nit picky about labs. tests are curved so make sure you do better than others. do ALL EC! the final is SUPER EASY compared to the midterms. i just took the class for a fun science elective honestly and liked it a lot

Excellent, quality professor. Very organized, very clear on what is expected of you, and what you need to know. Exams and practicals are tough, but if you put in a lot of study time, you will be fine. There are no trick or irrelevant questions. She kicks your butt but you will be grateful in the end. Very smart - I would recommend her.

I was VERY scared to take her from word of mouth with other students. People made her seem like the devil. I have really enjoyed her cass, she is fun, jokes around, and is VERY clear on her expectations. She really helps you understand the material and is thurough. Just be ready to try hard and work hard. She is prompt with grades.

Dr. Gan is a very smart person, you should not be judging that she is hard or stuff like that, because the materials are hard already, so you should expect to study a lot once you decide to take her class. She is neat picky about labs but if you follow the instruction, you should be fine.

Firstly, hardest class I've ever taken. Secondly, most rewarding 3.5 GPA I've ever gotten. She is an AWESOME teacher, very knowledgeable, but not easy! The class itself is hard, but she is VERY clear about instructions and expectations. If I were to take another A&P class, I would DEFINITELY take it with her. BUT AVOID TAKING HYBRID, I had no life.

Chris is nice and passionate about teaching but the workload is insane. There were many discrepancies between the labbook & textbook despite them being written by one author- which made learning the material difficult. She returns emails and grades very quickly. She is a real time stickler though- she counted down how long I had to use the bathroom

Best profesr I hve evr had. She taught me how 2 study and make it thru nursing school. Very difficult, however I still earned an A in each class. Detailed & great pwrpnt lectures. She tests on what she teaches, is entertaining, knowledgeable, passionate, speaks fast, humorous, stern, & animated. Nursing is not easy and Chris will prepare u for it.

If you're looking for an instructor who's passionate, helpful, organized, and knowledgable in A&P then Chris is the right fit for you. Although the material is hard (obviously), she breaks it down for you and makes it so much more understandable! With that said also study hard and manage your time and you'll do well.

She was really good on giving lectures. Explained chapters thoroughly. However, lacks compassion for those with lives and kids. For no reason at all will she take late work. No matter the reason. Tests are hard. Too much info in so little time. Doesn't actively do labs in class. I would not take her again there are other instructors who are better.

Great teacher who pushes you to your limits. Tests aren't too hard, but the workload is what makes her classes tough; you'll have to study/do assignments everyday if you want to ace the class. Very helpful, and lecture is almost never boring. Difficulty is above university-level, a good challenge for those who want one.

If you want to learn A and P you won't find a better teach than Chris. You can EARN a great grade in this class but she won't just give it to you. Her syllabus is crystal clear. You know what is expected of you for the whole quarter from day 1. It's hard but this is a pre-health field class. It should be hard. Allow 6-8 hours a day for this class

One of the best teachers I have ever had. Chris knows exactly what she's doing when it comes to AP. Very helpful when giving feedback and letting us know what is expected on quizzes and labs. AP is extremely difficult, and Chris makes you work for it, but only because she really wants us to understand it. I would definitely recommend her.

I normally am a 4.0 student and this class is hard! I have never worked this hard in school before but it is totally worth it because I want to be the best nurse I can be! Chris's syllabus and expectations force you to push yourself to get the grade you want out of the class. She's very open and is there for all her students! Great teacher!

Good teacher , explains very well, late assignment is big no no no. Lab exam is more stressful than lecture exam. lecture exam is easy to pass or score good if you attend lectures and study early from the book. She will talk to you as a friend when ask a question or advice. Really recommend her.

Chris is an amazing instructor, best I've ever had. She does lecture fast and a lot can be missed, but she's always willing to go over anything again over email or in person. She tries to find ways to drop a lot of hints for tests and tries to make lectures memorable. There's no way to fake your way thro the class, nothing is easy about the class.

Chris is the most enthusiastic science teacher I have ever met. Read ahead each chapter before the lecture and memorize all the vocabulary that she gave you in the list. Practice online quiz for lecture exam. If you do this I am positive that you will passed the class but if you want to get 4.0 then you have to go beyond. She also give extracredit

Chris is a really nice teacher and pushes you to the limit to become the best student you can be! There are weekly lab exercises, lab quizzes, lecture quiz + lecture homework + study module (online). Gives a bunch of extra credit. It'll be a really tough class, but you will definitely learn from this class!

She has an exam and final exam on the same day which is insanely hard! Don't have a full time job or take other classes while taking her.

Best anatomy teacher ever!! Whatever she lectures on in class is EXACTLY what you'll see on the exams. Watch lectures over and over again, study from her PowerPoint slides, know everything on her lab practical study guide and you'll get an A.

241/242 will be the toughest classes you will EVER take, however Chris is very good at explaining the materials. Lectures are very long, but without them you will have a hard time understanding. everyday you have extra credit in class, which give a 2% boost to you grade at the end. It's a lot of memorizing, but she helps a ton! best bio professor!

Chris is the best for A&P. took her for 241 & 242 and got a 4.0 in both. she offers extra credit, she offers you everything you need to know for exams. she doesn't trick you on exams, what you get tested on is what she lectures on. study the powerpoint, go to lecture you will pass!

Chris is a very difficult grader and is very very strict with her grading policies. But she is still probably your best pick for ap1 and ap2, she is really good at explaining what you need to know, giving examples to help you memorize concepts and applying them to clinical scenarios.

Definitely choose Chris to take A&P with! She explains the material so well, and her exams are pretty straightforward if you study her slides and re-listen to her lectures via Panopto! She also give extra credit opportunities and gives extra points on the lab exams-- something the other instructors definitely don't do!

Those who complain about her being hard are the ones who do not know how to study or prepare for a test. You will learn more in this class than you will in any other.

Chris is honestly the best professor Ive ever had!!! She is so funny and super genuine! Even though shes more on the tough side, shes just preparing you for the healthcare field. She even sent me an email telling me to eat well and have a good nights sleep the night before our lecture exam!

This is definitely a tough class for sure, be ready to study A LOT. But Chris is really good at explaining the material in way thatll help you remember it. Show up to lecture and do every extra credit option available, makes a really big difference. Honestly a really great teacher, would take again.

This is not an easy class, but Prof Gan is so enthusiastic, passionate, and genuinely excited about A&P it's hard not to love. You will be expected to know the material inside and out. You will be expected to use this knowledge in real life clinical scenarios. But it is hands down the BEST prep for nursing school Highline offers.

There is a quiz every week, so get ready to learn so much in such little time. You much turn in review sheets, remember everything is graded and everything matters so turn everything and attend the labs!!!

Professor Gan was great and she did a great job making the material easy to understand. This class is absolutely hard given the content, but I think she did a great job providing enough info so you can succeed. Don't let your phone go off during exams though, pretty sure she failed a girls test because of this.

Great professor. Lots of homework, reading, study, study, study, and quiz every week. That is what keeps you on the right track. If you know your homework without looking at your text book or notes, you should be good. If you start to fall on your weekly quiz, that tells you don't know it. If you fall behind, it gets harder. Chris is a great professor but her class is probably one of the hardest things you'll ever experience and its not their fault the class itself is just very tough but she tries her best to make it fun and interesting. There is a lot of reading you need to do so make sure you stay on track with it and she also offers a lot of extra credit.

You can tell that Gan is an expert in her field. Her lectures are very helpful, fun, and energetic. The work load is VERY heavy, but worthwhile. Be ready to study A LOT and memorize EVERYTHING. The course itself is difficult, but she is great at helping you if you are struggling. Weekly extra credit opportunities, weekly quizzes, go to the labs!

Great professor, she makes this hard class easier. Her lecture are very helpful because she simplifies them and makes them easier to understand. She has a good amount of extra credit, please do it it really does make a difference. She gives a lot of help. She is the best professor for all biology classes, trust me.

Chris Gan is the best biology teacher, She simplifies everything so that you could understand. I was so glad I took her A&P1 and A&P2. I learned so much from her. This can be challenging for students who are parents and juggle responsibilities of childcare or full-time employment. There are a lot of extra credits, do them all, will save you.

Brutally challenging class, not at all Chris's fault. She's trying to get her students ready for nursing school where expectations are even higher. She cares about her students, she's available and expectations are very clear.
