Although this semester isn't finished yet, I will still comment. I have Harman's night class and I am maintaining an A now, and even have 40 extra points on top of that. Harman's exams and quizzes are mostly all online, and are fairly easy. She gives you numerous opportunities to receive extra credit, and a lot of extra credit too! Easy A overall.
Harman has an attitude problem, beware. It has to be her way, exactly or the situation will never resolve. She wants to get TOO personal with students (asking about past experiences right in front of class, then commenting on you if you don't want to speak about it.) Online tests are very easy, JUST DON'T FORGET ABOUT THEM. Tons on extra credit.
Is very ****y at times and pretends to care about students personal lives. Makes you do meditation and stupid crap. An easy course. Tests online and TONS of extra credit. If you do the extra credit guarenteed A. Just such a pain in the a$$ boring class.
pretty easy cource. about 200 pts extra credit with a total of 1000 for the cource. tests are online and are pretty easy. you don't have to attend class either. take this cource.
Everything is online and its very easy, you don't have to go to class either! She's really nice!
Nice professor. I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Harman. Goes out of her way to let you receive extra points. Doesn't make class painful. She lets you out of class early most of the time. Also, you don't have to attend class if you don't want to. Put in a little effort, receive an A. Bottom line!
she's a ****. she puts EVERYTHING online, but if you don't go to class, she'll give you zeros on everything.
Generally easy; she's very nice, and frighteningly enthusiastic about the class. However, "extra points" are a myth, and if you have a question or concern to raise, direct it towards a classmate, because she'll do everything in her power to make sure she doesn't have any more work to do than teaching class every day.
I hate getting up on Tuesdays and Thursday because it means sitting through over an hour of her ignorant rambling and boring powerpoints (when all the information is already online!) her assignments are ridiculous, and missing a class means missing valuable points. I don't recommend taking her at all!
Complete jerk. She is rude. I doubt she has any feelings as a human. If you need help, too bad- u better have been in class or have a friend in class, b/c she won't help you. Go to every class or else lose so many points that she won't allow you to make up. Just dont take this teacher. she is horrible.
She always says if u have a question, ask her... but when u do, she makes u look stupid & is very rude. She has no feelings for anyone but herself. She said that u don't have to go to class if u don't want to, but then she'll give assignments in class for only the ppl that showed up. So unfair about grading!!! DON'T TAKE HER!
Very Very bad prof. She seems cool the first day like she's going to be laid back them about the thrid class you want to kill her. Everything she does is online and pointless but don't miss a class or you will get screwed. She is very unfair. A 100 level class feels like a 300 level. NO GOOD
She is ok at first, but then she seems like she has a major attitude problem. Although I never had a real problem with her, but still it seems like she gets smart if you ask her questions on certain items and issues. If possible take another person. Other than that, the online tests and quizzes aren't too bad if you use your book and notes.
Not a nice person. The only thing to look forward to is the class evaluations so you can tell her what you really think. Not helpful at ALL. AVOID her...

LOVED HER! she would give out 50 extra points for coming to class when no1 else did! she helped me a lot, and really knew what she was talking about. I took her class last year and still talk to her, she helps me a lot. I would deff take her again!
She has an attitude. There are alot of worksheets but they are super easy. She seems really nice but if you ask her a question she gets really mean. I'm not saying that because i disliked my grade - I got an A - but she just isn't very nice in that situation. Do exactly as she says - she will take points off if you forget the date on your homework.

Extremely rude to everyone, attitude problem. You can use your notes and textbook for the class. 1000 points. You have to do 4 research articles that are ridiculous. If you do good on all the tests/quizzes, you don't have to take the final. The wellness worksheets are a waste of time and paper. I don't recommend taking her.
This class is an easy A+. So take it! She is at times rude and most days grumpy. You can use the textbook on all exams, I was mainly disappointed in this course because i really felt i did not learn anything. I felt like the course was a waste of time. I felt the course was 3 credits of nothing but busy work! But i got an A thats all that counts.
Just get the worksheets done as sone as possible. All the busy work is a big waste of time. Beware when you ask her any questions.

Yes her class is an easy A! But she needs an attitude adjusment. She deff thinks shes better then you since she has a PhD is arrogent and rude, which in turn doesn't make her an approachable person. She also treats you like children and her class is a good waste of time. Don't by the book at all...you'll never need it! BUt for sn easy A take it! :)

Ok. This class was REALLY easy, however she is quite rude. She accused me and another student of cheating, when she gave us the same topic, info to find, and website to use...meanwhile I had a 106% in the class. Overall this class is easy and so are the tests. But an easy A comes with a price...a very rude prof.

Class is the easiest thing of my life, but the prof sucks. She makes it so easy that it's not even worth paying attention. She is really rude and not nice at all, but it's such an easy A you should just suck it up and take it

talks alot about herself..but is very approachable. if you go to class you have a chance of not even taking the final because of bonuses. the tests you get to take up to 3 times. assignments are easy she is kinda anal about everything being the way she wants it
I guess we all agree she is rude. If you have a question you better save it for after class because she just won't have time to speak to you since she has so much going on. Easy A though if you show up most of the time.

i have never met such a rude, condescending person in my life. she assigns project after project the whole semester along with the Behavior Change Proj going on at the same time. this class takes up my time i should use for my important courses. class can be easy just dont got to the prof for help unless you like being criticized.
Took the class online. You have to complete your assignments by their due date or you will not get any credit, no excuses. Very rude when replying to emails from students, thinks she is better than you because she has a masters.
(Online) I thought Professor Harman was professional and polite anytime I corresponded with her. The class was moderately time consuming, but it was easy work. I would say it was an easy A and definitely worth my time.

The class is easy, but i have never seen a teacher be more rude and disrespectful to students before. I have never had a teacher make me feel like a bad student and degrade me like she does, just because she thinks she is superior to college students.
Overall, Professor Harman's class itself is easy; however, she is the most inconsiderate, rude person I've ever met. She refuses to accept late assignments regardless the reason. On a positive note, she does provide bonus opportunities; unfortunately, this does not make up for her overall attitude in class. I would NOT recommend Professor Harman.
I was not impressed at all with Dr. Harman, Her class was useless and the assignments were overbearing and unpleasant. The "Target Behavior Change" assignment was far to pushy and personal, and attempted to force change on people. Steer clear if possible!!
Harman does not have a good attitude but the class is very easy. You do use the book for the tests and she allows you to use your notes for the test. The quizzes are online and the assignments are busy work but only take about 10-20 minutes. She never keeps you the whole 50 minutes. Make sure you turn the assignments before class starts. I have class at 2 and she will not take the assignment at 2, it needs to be turned in at 1:59. The final is bonus. Show up and you will get an easy A!
Dr. Harman is an excellent professor. I am one who works hard for grades, and she appreciates that. She is strict on assignments such as if your late, or the papers are stapled she will not accept your work and its a zero other than that she is great professor teaches you a lot of responsibility if you cant pass her class then drop out!!!

This class is an easy A. Just remember, dates that assignments are due in class DO NOT show up late. You will get a zero. And if you do not staple or have the papers in correct order you will get a zero. Sounds stressful to receive a zero, but the final is bonus. it can bring you up 1-2 letters grades.

This lady is a handful. She is very rude, disrespectful, and negative. I had some technical difficulties with our schools website and I emailed her and expressed my problem with her. She never responded. Unprofessional. Dropped her class after the first week.
She's an easy professor. Just don't turn anything in late. Be on time when you have an assignment due and have your assignment done perfectly according to the guidelines she gives. Don't forget to staple all assignments. She's an easy grader and her exams and quizzes are all online for this course. Answers come straight from the book.
Easy A if you do the work. Quizzes and exams are all online and you get multiple chances to take them. She gives A LOT of assignments but they can all be completed using the text book. She is very unapproachable, rude, and criticizing even though she harps on being "stress free" and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. She has major mood swings.
This class is a very EASY A. So easy to even get a 4.0. She give you a lot of chances to retake the exams and quizes. Always cancels class for exams and quizes. She is very rude, though.

Dr harman will literally not answer your questions. She loves to hear herself talk and your input takes away from her time even if it's a good question. everyone takes this as a gen ed course and she thinks that it is the most important class you take. Tests and quizzes are super easy and the assigments are kinda silly but also easy. She's very rude and obnoxious though but as long as you keep your mouth shut and turn everything in on time you'll fly by with an A.
The class itself is VERY easy but be prepared to deal with someone who is rude and who will call you out in class. She's not really that helpful. I was happy to pass her class with flying colors. If you do the assignments, you will get an A.
Do not take this professor. She is rude, does not like to help anybody. She also takes a lot of points off of assignments for the most trivial matters, usually those which have no effect on the project itself.
Harman is tough. Although this is a lecture based class, sometimes she throws in class activities, so go to class. Do your homework, and sit in the front. If you get her to know you, she'll love you. Book is necessary. You don't use it in class, but its really helpful on all of the online quizzes.

Avoid her at all costs. She is rude and thinks she knows everything. if you ask her a question she gets snippy with you. Her assignments are easy and there are tons of bonus opportunities but she is not a good professor at all.
Professor Harman will act like the worst teacher in the world but her class is easy as hell. All you have to do is show up, and make sure you do your assignments and you can walk out with an A. Towards the end of the semester she will give BIG bonus points. I remember I got 200 bonus points towards a 1000 point course total.
I took HSC 115 as a health class gen ed. Probably should have taken something else, as I did not learn as much I would like to have. The nutrition section of the course was too short, and too much fuss about exercise. The behavior change project feels like a girlfriend yelling at you to go to the gym--every day. Take another course, avoid Harman
Harman's teaching strategies are a cluster to say the least. Absolutely no order to anything shes doing. She follows the book but when it comes to assignments they are all online along with the directions and well, good luck figuring those out. There are assignments almost every night that will take you at least an hour. Go to class or fail.
This class was by far the easiest I've ever taken, but Dr. Harman made it hard to get through. When I asked for help, she was rude and ignorant. She also has a bizarre way of teaching that I was definitely not fond of. I will be avoiding her in the future. However, she gives a lot of bonus points, which is helpful.
The class was very easy, and you learned a lot. Once you get to know her, she is the kindest lady you would ever meet. If you do not do well on assignment, she offers multiple chances for extra credit. She can be strict, but you are fine if you listen to her rules. Overall great class and teacher.
Dr. Harman was the first professor I had here at Cal. She literally made me contimplate if college was for me because she was that bad right away. She expects you to care too much about a class that is a gen ed filler for most people. The only redeeming quality is that the class is laughablly easy and her final is all bonus, all 100 points.
Dr. Harman's demeanor can be very off-putting, but she is a kind woman, and her class is extremely easy, if you use the resources available to you. All exams are online. Do not ever show up late to her class!
She treats this class like it's the most important class of your life, when most people are just taking it as a gen ed class. She takes it way too seriously although it is kinda funny when she calls out the people sleeping in the back. She's not horrible, but pretty annoying. The class is stupidly easy though and she gives a ton of extra credit.
She's very rude and not understanding at all. It's a relatively easy class, it reminds me of a high school health class. She grades hard however and if it's not specifically how she wants it your grade will definitely be effected by it.
I took this class because it was required. It was my first class and it severely made me question if I was going to survive the semester. Her class is horrible, her teaching methods are ridiculous and make no sense. She gives tons of stupid assignments which are so stupid they're complex. Takes off points for no reasons. Take another class.

She gives crazy amounts of homework. They aren't hard at all, but they're so time consuming. She's honestly a crazy person and is super rude to some of her students. Don't bother asking for help unless you want to be publicly humiliated. The final is optional though.
Honestly, second worst teacher I've ever had. Missed day of class early in semester and during no previous class had she mentioned a test coming up. Even though online, I had no knowledge of it, and so, missed it completely. At least partially my fault. Aside from that, homework assigned almost every day, in worksheet packet form. Learned nothing.
I took her class online. She adds and changes assignments throughout the week. Her online course lacks in organization and she give a lot of busy work and you have to do video labs using a model over the age of 18. I do like that she gives practice exams. If you do the work in her class you will be fine. Not the best class but not the worst.
This professor talks down to people. She treats everyone like a five year old. Strict. Not amiable. Rude. I would not recommend this professor to anyone at cal u or otherwise. Half her information came from Dr. Oz who is not even a nutritionist, hes a heart surgeon. Doesn't have credible sources. Abstract definition of "health". Will humiliate you.
I did have to write more papers/paragraphs than most courses I have taken but Dr. Harman is very specific with how she wants things done so if you follow the directions it is very easy. She will often give bonus on assignments if she think extra work has been put forth. Always leaves awesome feedback and is very helpful.
Easy class with a lot of pointless classwork and discussion posts. Willing to help but takes days to respond to emails. Her responses also always show she didn't read the question (ask for clarification on grading criteria, get told to read the grading criteria). An middle school level class that shouldn't exist as a mandatory college class.
Dr. Harman was a great professor and uses a new system that requires students to study using their book. I really liked her system and you absolutely will get an A if you put in the effort.
I took one of Professor Harmon's courses (Current Health Issues) online. The class did have a good amount of work, but none of it was difficult. We used Connect for learning the chapter and quizzes, but there was also multiple sources on D2L if needed. Connect was very easy to use. This class is very easy, just keep on top of the work.
Dr. Harman is a rude professor that talks down to you and treats you like a child. If you have a different opinion than her, she will do everything she can to ensure you fail and will try to kick you out of the class. She has a vendetta for students and does not care about your education.
Took her for both anatomy's. The course load is Not bad at all. A lot of work . Professor wise , Do not email her for work , she'll tell you to look back at the questions.
