Mr. Harrison was a good teacher, he gave clarity on what he was teaching. He showed a very good understanding of the material. However the class is based only on your test grades. If you are not a strong test taker, this is not the calss for you.
Great teacher. Very interesting and full of facts &information. Has a bit of a cussing prob, but it makes the class laugh. I would take him again if I could.

Lectured the whole time, didn't really care if you understood it or not. Half of the class dropped before the final. Not organized, left around 8 other colleges, why it might be because he is a horrible teacher
He is horrible!!! VERY unorganized. Just lectures the whole class which is very boring and his test are very confusing. I would never take him again he is very boring!!!
His class was very interesting. I learned alot. Grading is based on test grades, therefore if you are not a good test taker I do not recommend him.

Man this guy didnt teach me crap... but then again it was an 8am class
Mr. Harrison is a good teacher. He is hard as a mother though, but really good. He is also pretty funny, and is willing to help ya if you have questions. He also gives quizes to help boost your grade for lecture and might give some for lab (although he normally gives bonus questions). Again if you want an easy one than don't take him.
He's a smart guy, though a little arrogant. Pleasant to be around. Lectures are long but overall pretty easy. I wouldn't recommend slacking off at all. Like all science courses in college, you really have to study in order to do well. If you want to slack off and learn nothing; find another teacher!
HE IS A SMART MAN, BUT HE TEACHES AT A HARD LEVEL. ALL LECTURING NO GROUP WORK. THERE WAS A FULL CLASS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SEMESTER, BUT BY DROP DATE, ONLY ABOUT 7 STUDENTS LEFT. OUT OF THOSE SEVEN ONLY A FEW PASSED. HE IS A SMART MAN AND IF YOU KNOW BIOLOGY YOU SHOULD PASS.
Great instuctor! He is also very helpful. I would really recommend. However, if you are looking for an easy way out he is not the one for you. You need to work hard in his class and a lot of dedication of you time is required. If you do what you are supposed to then you will do well. But like I said it took dedication.
I really enjoyed taking this class, I learned so much! Also it was great not having to take notes, his packets really helped condense all the information. Thanks again Mr. Harrison!
Mr. Harrison is an awesome instructor. Yes, he's not easy, but you actually learn quite a bit in his class. If your interested in pursuing anything in the science/medical field, I recommend taking him as you will come away with a strong foundation. Thanks for the great flex semester!
Mr. Harrison is the best instructor I have ever had. He gives great lectures and provides lecture notes. He is always willing to help you. You will leave his class with a strong foundation and he helps you learn great study skills. Attend all lectures, study his notes and read the chapters to succeed. I will never forget all that he did for me!
Mr. Harrison was a fantastic teacher. We used the book once the whole year so dont buy it. I learned so much in this class. Not a skate class whatsoever but very informative and beneficial especially if your major is medicine.
Best teacher I've had so far! The class is not that hard as long as u understand the materials right in class and spend enough time for self-studying. Ask him only when u really need to, just try to find the stuffs urself first, then u'll remember it easier and longer. Good luck!
Great teacher. Although I received a B, he is one of the best teachers I have ever had. I would definitely recommend taking him. You must attend class to get a clear understanding for the tests, but he teaches in a very interesting way with very good examples.
this was the worst class ive taken in the 2 years that ive been at vista, i have a pretty high gpa and take school seriously, but stoped showing up to his class. if you dont understand the material FORGET IT. i wouldnt recommend his class to ANYONE
Study hard, I'm an A student and I struggled in this class. DO NOT take him if you're looking for an easy class! Great professor, but he makes it difficult to make an A in his class.
DO NOT take this class, you will regret it. After your semester is over with you will be doing the same thing as I am right now-rating him. His teaching ways are far different than any other professor out there. good luck
i really really liked him a lot. when i signed up for his class i saw the ratings on here and got a little scared, but i ended up really really liking him! although biology is not my favorite subject, he actually made it pretty interesting. it's definitely not an easy class, you have to study, but if you do you should do fine. TAKE HIIIMMMMM!
I AM A SCIENCE MAJOR AND HE WAS THE WORST TEACHER I HAD. TESTS IS BASED ON INFO NOT IN LECTURE. YOU HAVE TO DIG EXTRA HARD TO FIND IT. IM NORMALLY AN A STUDENT AND BARELY GOT A C. A LOT OF A STUDENTS WENT DOWN IN GPA BC OF HIM. DO NOT TAKE!
Great teacher for Zoology. Funny and intelligent. Makes everything interesting, even water. Yes, water. I would definitely take him again if I had the choice to.
I never bothered looking here but I should had this professor expects a lot from his students it's an extremely hard class everyone in my class is retaking it. If you are a geek welcome to his class if not look for another teacher really =).
IF your looking for an easy A go to another class but if you want to learn and understand anatomy he is the one to take. You have to earn your grade he isn't going to hand it to u. Listen take good notes and STUDY!!1/2 my class droped but its cause there lazy.GREAT teacher if your going into health care this class will show you if you can take it
Great prof! Don't know why others complain - just stick to studying his test review questions and you'll ace his exams. The text book is only necessary for further clarification (and though it's helpful), his exams are mostly based on lecture notes he provides. He does speak very quickly, but it is a lot of material to cover in 8 weeks.
Zoology- Professor H is a great teacher. He doesn't pass out your grade, you have to show that you know the material and he even tells you this the first day. Lectures are interesting and go by super fast and labs never run the full length. I am learning alot and he is a fun prof to have. Makes me laugh with sarcastic/funny things. Take him!!!!
Very smart instructor!Lectures everyday w/powerpoint.Exams every 4 or so chapters.I thought it would be interesting, but it turned out to be a very boring class.I did not enjoy this class & wouldn't recommend this instructor unless you are a science major.
Smart guy, prick though. Best interest is in himself not students. Be careful.
Great teacher for those who want to learn. Must go to class everyday and just do his reviews for test and you will do fine! If your looking for an easy A, this is not it. If your looking to learn the material than this is your class!!!
Anyone who badmouths this guys is crazy. Loved this class, that may be because I'm a science nerd though. Tests are fairly easy, he gives you reviews online, just know the review and you will do fine. I did fail one test but I put forth no effort for it. He lets you drop your lowest test though.
Hardest teacher ever! Very into himself and arrogant. Enjoys having students fail rather than succeeding. Half the class dropped by the end of the semester.
Class is easy because he tells you what will be on the test. hard because there is a lot to remember. not much lab work<fairly simple. i got a D in the class because im a slacker! the teacher loves what he does-which isnt a bad thing- but since he loves it SO much he forgets that we dont know much about Zoology so he goes SUPER FAST! good luck!
Mr. Harrison was unreasonably hard. He is very arrogant and talks about things that have nothing to do with anatomy. He goes off subject a lot. His tests review sheets have nothing to do with the test, so needless to say after the first exam more than half his class failed.
STUDY his notes! You will not do well if you do not study his notes! He tells you what is on the test! He will answer your questions! I learned a lot being in his class! You do have to understand notes and material so recommend that you read material prior to test! Ask questions if you dont understand. You will have to STUDY!
WONDERFUL teacher. If you don't pass this class then it's because you are not paying attention. He says from the very beginning that you'll need to read the textbook outside of class. Use good study habits and review everything after class to make sure you understand it, and you'll do fine.
He is a great teacher! if you need A&P then you need to know the material. He is very helpful, explains xtra if you need it. NOT arrogant as some kids wrote, little eccentric but in a funny way. The foundation i got in his class served me in all my other health sciences. to learn one must read/study.he selects the most important stuff from text.
He gave a ton of info. But he also gave reviews...that's fine and dandy but the reviews had nothing on them that was on the test. I never drop and I dropped his class. Now to have to retake it...
Mr. Harrison is a very good teacher. He is always willing to answer questions and grades fairly. But BEWARE- this class requires lots of studying because there is so much material to cover. Don't expect to do well on the tests without putting in some extra effort. This class is not for slackers!
If you're planning to take this instructor think twice before you do so. He is very hard. If you have no other option but to take him then prepare to spend 8+ hours studying wit possibility of getting a C at the end. Beside this course is already hard this instructor make it 10 times more. Arrogant like no one else. I don't recommend him at all!
Had him for AP I/II Flex. He is NOT ARROGANT, in fact the opposite. He is very knowledgeable with lots to share. He challenges you; he does not give the class away. If you're taking AnP it's probably because you're entering healthcare so you need to know your fundamentals. Not for you if A class for those who want to LEARN not just pass.
Took his zoology class, he's a good professor! Just be prepared for his classes because he lectures alot! But he says some funny conversations in between! Its alot of material to study but if you do all of his test reviews you will be ready! Plus his tests are multiple choice, who doesnt love that?! :)
AMAZING professor!! I recognize him as a catalyst in pursuing a career as a physician... He really KNOWS HIS STUFF and was always VERY HELPFUL when i took him soo long ago!! He really pushed me and made me the student that i am today!! Would take ANY class/lecture with him again ANY day!! I hope he's doing well these days
Took his flex I/II for A&P 1/2. The class is not easy, and it shouldn't be. 3/4 lecture exams per class, and 3/4 lab exams per class as well. As well due to new policy, Mr. Harrison utilizes online assignments via CONNECT. Mr. Harrison sets you up for success. If you want an extremely smart, helpful, caring professor, then take his class.
I took this as an A&P I&II flex, and it was tough. Mr. Harrison is straightforward, caring and fair, but you don't walk away from this class with anything you don't work for and study hard for. Expect to set aside extensive study time, because there is a lot of material covered. I loved this class and would take another class with this professor.
I took this class as Flex A&P I and II. You will have to study, read and do reviews. Beware, you will have to do a lot of studying. And I mean a lot of studying. Not an easy class, but you will learn.Good teacher, but be prepared to keep up.
Very smart instructor! This is a very demanding class.. I felt like a prisoner in my home due to ALOT of studying.. His test are not based on his reviews.. He loves slides, so get ready to STUDY! I would not recommend taking this flex, I studied day and night and only managed to get a C. Good Luck!!!!
I have never had a professor that was as arrogant and disorganized as Professor Harrison. This was an absolutely miserable class. 30 students were enrolled in this flex summer class and 1 week left there are only 12 remaining. His exams don't cover anything that was discussed in lecture/review. It would be a miracle if I pass this class.
Not going to lie, he is a hard professor and expects your best. However, he is a professor that cares about his students. He wants you to learn and grow. Do his reviews for his tests and study. In lab, I'd ask him to quiz me on the different parts, he would and I made a 100 on that exam. Put forth the effort and you got this! :)
I took him for Bio 1 and 2 and got A's. His tests are straight from the review! No surprises! The book isn't necessary, he's very thorough and the reviews have it all. You will actually learn in his class. No homework, he makes class very entertaining, he's passionate about Biology. An A is easy if you study. Idk why he isn't rated higher.
Very fair professor. Objective, unbiased. He answers questions. He can be funny. Uses slides. In 1406, the reviews reflect the tests, so no surprises. You do need to study to pass the exams, but nothing too major. If you need the extra help, he will sit down and help you one on one (he did with a classmate and I when we were having trouble).
He's more of a Patho teacher than a anatomy teacher, his test are manly over the physiology of things so don't really memorize what something is, remember what it does and how it ties in to other things. Most anatomy teachers are about memorization and definition of systems and etc.. he doesn't care he wants to know how it works.
I took Mr. Harrison for my Anatomy 1&2 Flex courses. He is an amazing teacher. He helps when you ask for it and wants you to succeed. Attending the class is helpful, but not necessary, where as attending labs is absolutely necessary. He's a great teacher. 1010 would recommend
Professor Harrison overall is a very good instructor. But that doesn't mean he's easy. Make sure to know everything he gives you in the review, and I mean EVERYTHING. Even the background info you have to know because he doesn't take the questions directly, but asks questions related to the ones in the review. Also, he's very helpful!
Make sure to study everything on the study guides. The tests are kinda tough/simple. He words it different than the ones on the reviews. But as long as you study you should do well. This course was more of the lecture with like 3 lab test. These were pretty easy because its just about memorizing parts of the body. Other than that he's a great!
There is more lab dissections for 2402 with lecture tests. This is a flex class so its fast pace but not impossible. I just knew that it was only 8 weeks to put myself through this tough class to work hard to get the best grade I can. He is a funny teacher and will answer any questions. No essays. Didn't really use book, used slides for reviews.
Took Chris Harrison during Maymaster. I was really worried about taking this class because biology is not my thing, and I was even more concerned because I was getting this credit done in 14 class days. I was wrong though, Harrison at times gave too much information but over all, tests and quizzes were vary easy if you just paid attention.
I enjoyed taking Prof. Harrison's Maymester course. Quiz /test questions came from his powerpoint slides and ch. review questions. Quizzes/tests were online in class and graded upon submitting. He used great analogies and visuals when presenting the material which made it easier to grasp. Has a good sense of humor. Easy A if you do your part.
Instructor Harrison is amazing. He is incredibly knowledgable. It is evident through his knowledge and explanations that he is passionate about biology. He has worked in the field, and has not always been an instructor. Because of this, he is able to give incredible examples to help you comprehend the material better. He is an AWESOME instructor!
I honestly LOVE this professor. I have taken several other biology courses and its like i'm just reading off a slide and time to memorize but with this professor i had so much fun in this class because he actually EXPLAINS and gives examples of each topic. Hes a fun instructor but makes you work for your grade. Beware of the readings though!! :(
THE WORST PROFESSOR there are no curves no ways to up your grade NOTHING what you get is what you get way too tough and the questions don't even make sense on his lab tests. I suggest no one taking his class unless you want to fail miserably and ruin your gpa.
Amazing lectures for a lot of different reasons. He simplifies for retention. When you apply it to understanding it works most of the time. A+P is not easy by any means but having a professor who cares is the difference between success and failure. Ask for help. Took this Flex 1 and if you don't have a large amount of time to study prioritize.
He's a great professor. He is lecture heavy, however, he has personality and does not just read off the screen. Tests are easy if you do his reviews. Lab exams are difficult but only 2 of them. BEWARE OF READINGS.
He is funny but goes off topic alot during lecture. In lab, he has a "teach yourself" attitude. Test reviews are NOTHING like the test and he even counts off for mis-spelling... I took as a flex and it was the hardest class I've ever taken. I had to drop this class
I get that A&P isn't supposed to be easy, but His class is really hard. Half of our class dropped in the middle of the semester. His tests are really hard and his reviews are nothing like the exam. His lectures are heavy. Overall, a lot in my class struggled in his class and doesn't really provide extra credits or curve grades.
Extremely tough at grading and his tests are very off in comparison to the review. You will have to teach your self to learn in this class. He is not the kind of professor that really cares about students he is very arrogant and not very understanding most of the time. I would not advise anyone to take this professor especially for a flex class.
Took as Flex I and II. I love the real world examples he provides. He posts his powerpoints online, but if you miss class, you miss the connections he provides. Do all of your study guides in advance and study!!! As you are working on study guides, he will answer any questions. He is blunt and sarcastic, but that never bothered me.
Professor Harrison is AMAZING. The class is difficult, yes, and it knocked me on my butt. Definitely humbled me as I am used to having straight A's. Don't skip class, as his lectures have valuable info along with his lecture slides that he provides online for you. Do the reviews. ASK FOR HELP he WILL help. sarcastic, and funny but caring. GREAT!!
Do the LearnSmarts, easy 100s, do the multiple attempts quizzes, easy 100s. Show up for the labs. He gives you free range in lab but is there if you need help. I don't know why his rating isn't any higher. But seriously, he's an amazing professor and always willing to help if you really want it. so much valuable information that he provides.
This class is NOT easy but very fair. I worked hard for my B but this was a 8-week course so it makes sense. He is available for questions after class and seems to really want to make sure you pass. He's doesn't give free grades but he does give you want you earn. I look forward to take him again if ever possible.
Take this professor if you're willing to put work in for your grade! He is hilarious and makes lecture interesting. Studying one day before his tests aren't going to work but i would definitely take this professor again and I've recommended him to several people.
He will not hand you an easy A for trying. He gives you all the information you need to succeed but you do have to put in the work for it. He is great though and is really invested when lecturing. I would take him again! Hes amazing!
Class is no joke, like most reviews said, he wont hand you the A, you gotta work for it. If youre someone who depends on the review for exams, dont take him, his reviews are long as well as notes that are given to you. You need to know the material before class or you will be lost. He is overall a great person and is trying to help you pass.
I took Mr. Harrison for A&P 1 and he was awesome! He was intelligent, gave great info, kept lecture interesting, and let us kind of explore on our own in lab but was there if we had an questions. He says he wont give out any free points, but he kind of does with little easy extra credit points here and there. I would definitely take him again.
Great Professor that said yes I would take his class again but not in the summer we were going over a new chapter almost every day it was a 5-week course and I've never even done a flex course so a little stressful. he has a good sense of humor, the textbook is needed to get online one with code to McGraw hill if on reviews will be on the test
As a person, I think Professor Harrison is great. He doesn't take himself too seriously but knows when it's time to buckle down and get to work. He does get distracted quite frequently which makes the class seem longer but if you don't attend them then you should be fine. His tests however are very demanding and I'd be prepared to study frequently
I took him as a flex class and he definitely makes it feel like one. While I don't mind studying lengthy reviews, his reviews don't always match up with his notes. Also, be prepared to study numerous amount of terms that will definitely take up a huge chunk of your time.
He is lecture heavy but they aren't boring lectures. His tests are a bit different than the reviews he gives but he is not a harsh grader. Overall, you have to work for your A but he is accessible.
Good professor. Lecture heavy but they aren't boring. If you ask a question his response is very thorough.
Professor Harrison is a very good choice for a Biology Professor. I took his 8-week courses for Anatomy and Biology at the same time and he worked with my schedule effortlessly. Always has great examples in lectures and is open to questions. He is also highly accessible outside of class. If you need a Biology professor: THIS IS THE MAN!
Lectures are very long and he goes off-topic a lot, reviews do not match tests. Mult choice has 10+ answer choices. I made good grades with canvas assignments but not his test. I would not take this professor again, I failed because of his test, they are 35% of your grade. I regret not doing my research before choosing this class.
Not going to lie, this class was tough. Be ready to study and study. It was an online course but his recorded lectures were amazing! Im a self taught person and he does a very good job at explaining and is interesting. He is accessible and easy to reach. I do recommend him his assignments were doable.
Took this class as an online 8-week summer course. Do not take him for summer classes. His exams are hard to prepare for. The questions on the exams are hard. They are not clear cut questions. He's so funny in the lecture videos so I know he must be fun to take in person. But online it's just really hard. I wouldn't recommend it.
Harrison is funny, the course is a lot of taxonomy and he expects you to memorize a lot of names.has a few readings, most of your grade is unit quizzes and tests. reasonable and fair. No late work. I missed a weeks worth of class and was able to catch up using the textbook.lecture heavy but he rambles on about very interesting things.
I took him for a&p 1 and got pissed off because he accused me of cheating when I was literally day dreaming staring at the window. 99/100 for the exam -1 for cheating lol
I would NOT take him again. This class is VERY test heavy. Barely any assignments so your tests weigh a lot. I've failed all my test his reviews don't match the test. You need to read the textbook word for word to study. His lectures don't make sense it's hard to understand the concept. No extra credit, no redos on assignments or test.
