his class is not for those who dont go to class, it will bite u in the ass if u take it for granted if not yay
He's a sweet piece of ass!
Free A, good class to save for senior year ;)

A terrificly sarcastic ****. You really don't need to go to class, but it's worth it if he isn't showing a video. The class IS cake. Read the text once or twice and you're guaranteed an A.
Easy grades. He spends a little too much of his free time with rats. Will spend a whole class on foot-shock if you let him.
This class is way too easy, but what do you expect at a tech school. Read the book and you are fine for the tests (which are all multiple choice, plus bonuses)
number one rule... read the text... after that the class is a breeze
Hubbell's the man
The book will do as good as the lecture. Either read or be there...

He read the class out of the text book.
Extremely easy course if you read the material. He was very helpful, but you have to go to him for it.
Very easy course. Either read the book or go to class, no need for both. Funny guy if you like his type of humor.
You've heard it from everyone...Don't go to class, study 2 hours for each exam and get an A.
Easy A, if you get back exams and read the text. However, the lectures are as boring as hell.
Great guy and reasonable professor with multiple choice tests. Read the book and you should get a well earned A. Don't go to lecture without a distraction and something to write embarassing quotes on. You're an idiot if you don't get an A in his class.
Theey say it's an easy course but it's not unless you carefully read every page of the book, which to me means it's not an easy course at all. Don't take it expecting an easy A. Maybe I just don't like his style but I think he's a d*ck. Class = useless.
Decent guy, can be funny at times. The text and review books are the most useful resource. Unless you have nerves of steel, the class is far too boring to be able to learn everything from it. Hubbell is fair and very approachable about everything.
Same as everyone else...either go to class or read the book, they both include the exact same information. Very easy A.
if you can read and take the practice exams that come with the book bundle at least 2 days before the test then you should be fine, not an 'easy' A, but a B isn't a very hard task
Read the study guide and do the practice tests and old tests from old students. Do that and it's an easy A.
You really don't even have to go to class. I spent 4 hours studying the day before each test and got an A for the semester in Gen Psych. Just learn the bold and italicized words in the text and do the practice tests from the study guide.
Great professor gives clear notes of exact questions. Funny guy and lets you out early alot esp when its nice out. Go to class and everyday and you will be absolutly fine.
After 4 Hubble classes, he's still the guy to get. Make to take at least 1 hubble class, i recommend more! dont go to class, but make sure to study for the tests. Back tests are the way to go. thanks for the 4 A's, Hubble!
Hubbell is ****ing hilarious. I often found myself writing down great quotes of his during class, such as "I may be a little fat guy, but I'm a rugged ****." The class was so easy that you'd have to be dumber than a dead fetus to not get an A.
Absolutely worthless and boring as hell. Class is absolutely meaningless, and his worthless multiple choice tests are beyond crappy. He couldnt care less about what he does, just stands in the front and babbles on about nothing. Hubble sucks.
Very easy. Interestingly, there are quite a few jocks in class (when they show up) looking for an easy A. But so was most of the class.
Hubbell is the man!!!
A weird, stupid fat man. He cracks some funny jokes in class...once or twice a semester. An easy A, you've gotta be a total moron to get anything else. The tests are all multiple choice and stupid. Buy the book with all the questions, you'll be fine.
read and ur set, don't bother goin to class...
Great teacher. You can go to class or not go, as long as you study before each test. For the people who do go, he keeps you entertained with anecdotes, and he has a very 'colorful' vocabulary. He's a great Scuba diver too.
Great guy. He's funny and if you show interest in his class, he'll show interest in you. Gen Psych is not hard at all as long as you read (or at least read the study guide...) It's not exactly an *easy* A, but its easy enough. He offers you credit for participation in psych studies around campus.
Presents the material clearly and competently. Takes time to address all inquiries. Helpful both in and out of the classroom environment. Straight-forward, honest, funny, and knowledgable.
I don't know what anyone else is talking about but Hubbell is the man. He has interesting lectures with funny jokes and statements. His tests are fair and easy if you read the material.
We had a new book, so he was adjusting. Antedotes came straight from book. Mostly memorization. Read the book + study guide (end of chapter), and just come to class the the day before the tests. He tells you what's on the exams, and gives answers to bonuses. Easy interesting class.
His lectures are boring and he gets everything from the book. Just read the book and get the practice quizes for the book since he gets 80% of his questions directly from the practice quizes.
Easy class but he's very arrogant and the lectures are dull. You get a guaranteed A if you just show up the day before the tests to get the answers to the questions he's going to ask on the test and then read the book.
how the hell do you spell it? This guy is awesome, for General Pscychology you will get an A if you do tons and tons of extra credit
Easy class but Hubbell is really stuck up and refuses to help at all. Don't go to class, just read the book.
Easiest class ever. Don't need to go to class, he reads from the book anyway.
best part about this class is you don't have to go... hubbell's pretty cool, a little crude, but okay... read the book before tests and it's an easy a
never went to class, never studied, showed up for tests, got a B, easiest class i've ever taken
Gen psych=easiest class ever. If you take learning though, you need to go to lectures. If you read the book and copy down all the notes, he makes it pretty easy to get an A. Btw... who said he was hot?? HAHA.
I don't like him, but the class was easy.
easiest course on campus.! funny and entertaining lectures too if u choose to go

Other than the fact that he is always hitting on all the hockey girls, he seems to be very passionate about teaching.
Hubbell is an arrogant ponce, but classes don't get much easier than this.
this professor is the largest bag of **** ever, obviously very insecure with himslef and feels the need to take lecture time to make sure the students like him through swearing and other ****ry. according to himself he is one of the highest certified professors in the world....i say certified shmertified he reads to you straight from the book.
Ditto. Easiest class I've had at RPI. Read the book, do the practice tests, you shouldn't get less than a B, worst case. Although from what I understand from people who have taken his 4000 level class, he's only arrogant to the gen psych people and does know what he's doing in his Psych of Learning class.
gen psych, super easy class. teaches right out of the book, which is fine. doesn't care if you show up to class, 75% of people don't. just read the book, do the practice problems at the end of each chapter, memorize definitions and there you have it! show up on the 4 quiz days and you'll get your A, or at least a B. Final is optional.
teaches straight out of the book. tests are format as gen psych. come to the class before the test to get his study guide. the questions are straight from there... no ifs, ands or buts.
Prof. Hubbell is ignorant, his test reviews are BS, and he doesn't know how to motivate students. Some of the info you need for tests is hidden deep in the text. His tests are hard and detailed - contrary to what others (nerds and cheaters) say. If I was to fire a professor of my choice, i wouldn't hesitate to chose hubbell.
The Learning class is much less laid-back than Gen Psyc, but it was a good and interesting class nonetheless. Getting an A isn't easy, but it's doable.
This is not gen pysch. And he warns you and people drop out pretty quickly. Learning theory is a good class though and he teaches it well. If you need help he will give it to you if you ask. I did not want to talk to him because i was afraid to approach because he comes of arrogant but he is helpful and one of my favorite teachers.
Hubbell is pretty awesome. I had him for Gen Psych & I'm taking Learning with him next semester. Basically, all you have to do is readthe book & do back tests. Easy A. But if you get a chance, go talk to him. He's probably the most normal professor at RPI & isn't a total nerd (like MANY other professors). I recommend him.
He's honest. He's interesting. And he teaches us about how things work. Oh, and he speaks English. That's rare at RPI.
give you answers for quizzes
Hubbell is awesome. Gen Psych is a very laid back class, and even though attendance is technically mandatory, most people choose not to go to class, which is ok since you can still get an A. Just do the reading and you will get a good grade. Oh, and be prepared to get made fun of a bit if you sit directly in front of him.
Very good teacher. You will learn the stuff. But terrible person. He would swear in class just to make students laugh. Told disgusting stories of his personal life. I could have just skipped class, read the book, and done the same in the class. But if you go to class, you won't have to read the book as thoroughly.
Hubbell is the man!
Great guy. I've taken 2 of his classes now. Interesting to talk to. Theories of Learning is a lot of notes, so don't skip class. One of my favorite professors at RPI.
Learning is much less laid back than Gen Psych, but if you work for your grade you should do well. He expects you to work hard, and although attendance is not mandatory, you will need to be in class if you want to pass. Remember to look for back tests, they will help you. If you need help, go to his office hours immediately..he will help you.
He is awesome. I recommend showing up to lectures doing other work, writing down his notes because they are test questions, studying back test and its the easiest A you ever got
The class is an easy A.
Very easy course. He teaches straight from the book. I suggest going to lecture because test questions and bonus questions are directly from lecture. He is kind of obnoxious but most students find him funny so it works. He acts mean in class but is very kind in person. He tries to stress that Psychology is REALLY hard, but its not..at all.
Gen Psych is the easiest class to get an A in. Just read the textbook, and you'll do fine on the tests. Going to lecture is almost a waste of time. Very helpful if you ask him questions after lecture on "difficult" material. Swears a lot.
Easy classes, took both GenPsych and SportPsych. Tests are straight out of textbook and/or backtests, just straight MC, and can be memorized easily. Attendance is not mandatory at all, but I'd suggest going because his rants are fun to hear; just bring other work as well. Overall he's a very chill guy with fun classes.
"General Psychology" and "Intro to Sport Psychology" - grade based entirely on multiple-choice tests. All you need to do is read the book and it is definite A on the exams. If you do go to class, you get to hear bonus question, which is not worth it.
It's just like any other Hubbel course. Make sure you come to class because pretty much all of the tests are based on lectures. He will say exactly whats on the tests though. Back tests are also really helpful for the true/false and multiple choice.
Awesome, one of the funniest professors ever. Study for his tests though, I didn't and bombed one but the ones I studied for I got in the 90's
Very entertaining. Gives four exams with plenty of opportunities for extra credit. He gives out study questions which help you greatly for the exams. Attend class to guarantee the A although it's not necessary.
Straight forward. 4 tests, no final. Don't take 1 test, you pretty much fail the class. A lot of extra credit (outside surveys, experimetrix). Listen and remember to what Hubbell says in this class and you'll score about 115/125 on the tests. Add some ECs, and you're golden in the class.
Great teacher
Funny
the perfect professor and class. you just can't go wrong with general psychology.
the perfect professor and course. you can't go wrong with general psychology.
This class was extremely easy. Tests are a breeze with the provided study guides, and there is lots of extra credit.
A terrible teacher who just reads you his power points.
easiest class ever to get an A. Read the book, do the study guides, and take surveys to get more points. THe more points you get the higher your grade gets, couldn't get any easier than that!
He's alright unless you aren't a bleading heart liberal. It's an easy A if you do what he tells you. The tests are a joke.
Such a funny guy! I really enjoyed his lectures!
Great professor. He is funny and very entertaining. On top of that, he makes his class unbelievably easy. If you show up a week before the test, he gives you a study guide that is word for word the test. I didn't take notes, read the textbook, or study (besides doing the study guide) for the first and second test and I got a 94 and a 104.
It's Gen. Psyc. It is not that hard. Tests come straight from the test bank and most times follow a pattern from the test bank. No need to go to class.
When I took this class, it was fairly easy. Everything was straight from the book and test bank. Class attendance was not required. Extra credit through volunteering for experiments. Has strong views. Can rant.
Most irresponsible professer
He needs to use up time during the two hour lecture, so he spends a lot of time ranting about topics that aren't really relevant. He tries to get students' attention by swearing a lot and telling stories about his crazy times in college haha
Hubbell is knowledgeable, however rants and swears constantly. The entire grade for the course was based on four 'quizzes' where all questions are from a test bank. The study guides are all based off the prompts from the test bank and are often useless because they don't correspond well with our textbook. Hubbell was not available and didn't care.
He's awesome. Alot of times he goes off on a tangent or just rants but its always interesting. If you want a class where you just sit and read and are bored all time time this isn't for you. Most test questions can be found in his study guides. He's not like the other professors here who try and trick you, he wants you to do well.
You will pass this class. He curses in lecture and goes on funny rants. The class is extremely easy to pass with a B- but getting an A will require a lot of work.
If you have Hubbell for psych 1100 you are basically guaranteed at least a B-. Going to class is optional but if you want an A, you'll have to earn it. Tests make up 100% of your grade so make sure to read the textbook and take those end of the chapter practice tests
Get the study guide, do the practice problems on the textbook, join in some research programs for extra credit and you will get an A.
Gen Psych with Hubbell is about as straightforward of a course as it gets. Show up to class, copy down the questions, and skim the textbook. Congratulations you get an A.
In the spring, you're guaranteed a C if you just fill out the Scantrons. If you want more, that's easy too; just come to class or get a friend to take notes for you, skim the textbook, and study for the tests. He doesn't usually change the test questions significantly from the ones he provides in class, so pay attention and you'll be fine.
In his class, you MUST REVIEW THE QUESTIONS he gives to you by glancing over the Textbook. Also the questions after each chapter and those on PSYC Lab are also significant. If you fails to get good grades in exams? Don't worry, participate in his research program. You will find he is very generous in giving extra credits to students who helps him
Do the study guides, and go to lectures and you'll get an A.
Took for General Psych. No homework other than reading. Tests are almost completely based on the textbook, going to lecture isn't super important. When you do go to class, he's a funny joker and isn't afraid to be profane or talk politics. Grade is completely based on the four tests and if you get less than a C+ then your grade is rounded up.
He is really kind and nice old man. As nonnative speaker I should say I cannot follow everything he said but still you should attend his lecture if you wanna get A in this class. If you wanna A in this course you should get at lease 168/180 in four tests. Each test has 45 questions in total and 5 of them are stated in class. And he will not tell u
A lot of work, but really funny professor. Lectures are unnecessary.
Class was changed from years past and not for the better. Very stubborn old man who doesnt see that nobody is taking this class because they are generally interested in Psych. 80% are engineers. We took this class because it was supposed to be a lighter course as pushed by the admin but it didnt end up that way
The majority of the material you learn outside of class via your textbook, and online learning activities and ZAPS labs. In lectures, he literally discusses the types of questions that would be on the exam. Buying a textbook was a pain, but is expected from a college-level course. I was satisfied with this course and increased my interest in Psych.
There was a ton of online HW, it is not supposed to be like this for a hass course that is 1200 level, this course requires a lot of effort if you want to get an A.
