Use notes for exams, homework same types of problems as tests, easy quizzes, easy project. Review for all exams, very helpful after/be4 class. Even goes over hw BEFORE you turn it in for a grade. If you fail, U R AN IDIOT!

I had him over the summer and regret not taking his Stat. course this spring because he is by far the best math teacher I've had at Harford. Now I'm stuck with the mumbling Gregor. Should have known...

Chris Jones is really nice and helpful. He will answer any questions for you anytime(before, during, after class, or even through e-mail). If you make an effort, and show up to class most of the time, you will pass. He's a great guy, take his class!!!

This guy is awesome. The only people who don't do well in this class are the ones who don't keep up with the work. He only teaches you what you need to know so you always know what is going to be on his tests. Pay attention in class and do your homework; it is an automatic A. And if you need help, he is in the math center. The nicest guy on campus!

i had to take this class 3 times and without a doubt he's the best. we covered far more material than any of the other teachers but he gave assignments practice exams, and exam reviews that were helpful. very understanding and helpful cause he encourages questions. very clear/organized and funny, looks to young to be teaching, but knows his stuff.

Chris is a great teacher and I would encourage any Statistics student to take them for the class. He makes the class pretty fun and makes the material as easy to understand as it can be. Recommend attendance to class, because there is alot of things learned in each class. There is H.W assignments each class.

I have had the pleasure of having Chris as a teacher in Stats and now in Trig. he is by far the best teacher you will find!!!. More than willing to help students. Really hard class if you are not paying attention. The subject is interesting and Chris keeps your attention throughout the class. He is really helpful and will go the extra mile to make sure you "learn" and pass the class. I would definitely take another MATH class with him.

I haven't taken a math class in over 20 years but I'm working on a 2nd degree and this class was required. Chris is AWESOME, and is probably THE best teacher I have ever had. He goes out of his way to help you get it. Don't waste your $ on the book--He teaches the mat'l way better and you don't need it anyway b/c all the assignmts. are handouts.

Excellent! Very nice and laid back, yet knows how to maintain order. He explains everything, many times if necessary. He makes himself available to students before and after class. He always reviews before a big quiz or test. Not only will you usually know WHEN to expect and "unannounced" quiz, you will know what type of problems to expect.

Chris Jones rocks, he talks to us in the real world and makes every thing clear. He even putrs up with those students who are anal over grades due to their major. Chris Jones is very clear when teaching, he does however have a huge temper! if you are seen talking he will yell at you and kick you out of the class room. Chris Jones threw a water bottle at the girl who was sitting next to me and hit her in the head and broke her glasses. He needes anger management, he picks fights with students all the time.

One of the best math professors I have ever had! He is clear, easy to understand and passionate about what he teaches. He cares that his students do well and is always willing to help. The textbook wasn't needed (he makes up his own problems). Summer class had 3 exams, and one final, all worth 20% and 17 homework assignments, the lowest 2 dropped.

I am horrible at math, but Chris made things so easy to understand unlike any other teacher I have had before. His class is designed to give you steps on how to work out a problem, give you three examples, then lets you try one. He does not try and trick you unlike other mathematics professors I have had before. I would definatly reccommend him.

I've taken 5 classes with Chris. He makes everything very understandable. He goes above and beyond to help you in any way he can, so long as you ask. He does use a lot of language, so if you're offended by that, stay away. Don't bother buying a textbook, he doesn't use them. Don't use your cell phone or he'll kick you out.

A great professor. Easy to understand, clear grading methods, and VERY helpful. The best professor I have had at Harford ever. I highly reccomend this course for math majors taking Linear Algebra, very helpful as a introduction into that subject.

Chris is one of the best math professors at HCC. Math use to look like rocket science to me, but he was able to make me see numbers in a new light, so good for him. That's an accomplishment. He also gets a pepper. He's a hot tamale.

Took this guy for statistics...was told it was the way to go if you are not good at math. I was dedicated and he was helpful. Gives a cheat sheet for tests and is kind. You never feel dumb for asking a question. If I had to recommend a math teacher, it would be him 100%!

I am so bad at math which is why I got stuck in a non credit class. It's unreal how easy he makes it seem. He will do the same type of problem asmany times as needed to be sure that everyone in the class knows how to do it. I wish he taught all the math classes I needed!

Each class is laid out the same: definitions of what we are learning, a look at the formula, an example we do as a class, an example we do on our own, then he gives us homework, that isn't collected but SO helpful to study from. Study guides are exactly like exams. Its great that he is so organized and prepared. He is a fair, honorable teacher.

I have always hated math, but this guy made it so that I could understand, and enjoy math. I rated easiness low, because I am bad at math, but I cannot say enough about Chris Jones!

I had this professor for Calc 1 and 2, and I can honestly say he is the best math teacher you could ever have! He's very clear, extremely helpful and will do everything in his power to help a student understand. I have nothing bad to say, except that I wished he taught Calc 3 again!

He is a great instructor. He is very considerate of his students and he cares about them. He'll take the time to walk you through whatever you need help with and he'll let you know what you need to improve on to get a better grade. If you're a freshman, or you have to take transitional courses, have Mr.Jones as your instructor!

I took this class dreading it. It was on a Saturday morning and I had poor math skills. Professor Jones is the BEST teacher at this college and I only have six credits left to graduate. I moved my last semester around totally so I was able to take him for statistics. Go directly to the course you are thinking of taking with him and sign up!!

Best HCC Math Instructor. Professor Jones does not fool around but teaches you Math. Come prepared, do your homework, study and you will do well. Professor Jones has time for all of your questions and really cares about his students. If you want to learn Math in surrounding suitable to learning, take him.

Mr. Jones filled in for my normal teacher for one class, but that was enough for me to wish he were my teacher instead of the other guy. He is passionate about his work and teaching students to understand. He did not tolerate the rude girls that never stop talking in the back of the room. Kudos, Mr. Jones!

First and foremost, I hate math. He made everything so crystal clear that I had no trouble at all. I failed stats the first time with someone else and passed with flying colors in his class. There's no book, which is nice and he allows a sheet of paper on exams. He gives clear, step-by-step instruction on how to solve the problem. Loved it.

Seriously one of my favorite teachers of any subject I've ever had. He's hysterical, really encouraging and really clear. He takes the time after every exam to let you do corrections and then talks to you one-on-one to see if he can do anything to help, and he's easy to find outside of class for extra help. He breaks all of the material down in a way that is easy to comprehend, but not in a way that feels "dumbed-down"/as if he thinks you are an idiot. Loved Chris Jones!! I truly despise math but he explains things so clearly. He is super funny and relatable. He knows math sucks and tries to make it as painless as possible. He basically gives you an outline of the test before so you always know what to expect. Since I hate math, the lectures seemed annoyingly long but he gave 10 mins breaks.

I struggle in math but this professor cares about his students. He enjoys teaching and doesn't rush in lecture. If you show him that you work hard then he meets you halfway. He is patient with the class and welcomes questions. Need help before class? He's there. After class? Yep, go ahead and ask. Struggling? Go up to him and ask when to meet up.

The only professor that I have had that didn't give up until everybody understood. I always have trouble with math and I got my first A in his class. Can't wait to take statistics with him. He is also hilarious and engaging too.

You have a quiz everyday that end up helping your grade a lot because he drops the lowest few. I took the class at my college and had to drop it and took it at HCC over the summer and got a B. He's a really good guy and a great math teacher.

I took him for DISCRETE Maths. Amazing Lecture. He will hand out the class a lecture sheet in the beginning and will go over on each problem. The home works are usually more difficult than the test. If you practice homework and his lecture, you will sail thru the course.

Chris is an amazing professor and one of the best teachers I have ever had the opportunity of learning from. I have taken him for both Calculus 1 and Discrete Structures. If you're looking for a professor with organized lectures and clear grading criteria / exams, take him. If I could take all my future classes with this man, I would.

I have always dreamed of taking a math course at HCC with Chris, and that dream came true with Honors Statistics. He is an amazing instructor that makes math interesting. Do what he tells you to do and you will do well. I highly recommend him for any math, or any other class he teaches!

Best professor Ive ever had. If you prove yourself to him during the 1st half of semester; do your hw, sit up front and keep up, participate regularly, really making an effort, he will take it easy on ya the 2nd half. His lectures are funny as hell and he will make sure you understand the material. No book needed, he wants you to save your money

BA 140 was a really nice class, and for the first time Chris as taught an online class, he did a fantastic job at organizing the class and getting the information to us. Phone conferences bridged the gap between student and instructor, which was a nice touch. Would take any class with Chris again!

Professor Jones was probably the best Calculus teacher you could ever ask for. His tests are based on what the lecture is on, and his lectures are perfect. Truly amazing professor! Clearly he is passionate about what he teaches and does, and it'll rub off on you. Jones is an incredible professor. I'm pretty strong in math so if you aren't, I may not be the best source, but this class was really easy for me. My class was asynchronous so I never actually met with Jones face-to-face, but the little interaction I did have showed me he really cared about his students and wants us to succeed.

He is thoroughly entertaining, knows what hes talking about, and genuinely cares about his students. In my class he always allowed people with heavy course loads to take tests on their own time, etc

Jones was easily the best math professor Ive ever had. He was extremely thorough and made it a point for us to know we can reach out to him any time with questions. Calculus is a difficult class regardless but he made it enjoyable and much easier than it could have been. I am very satisfied with the content I learned in this course.

Very good teacher and his online lectures are really good. The only negative would be that his handwriting can be tough to read on those lectures. I never had him in person so I can't tell if that is just online or in person too.

Great professor, I have never seen someone so dedicated to their work. Even when we were online due to COVID his way of teaching was exactly like that in person (AND IT MADE SENSE). He was willing to go over every single question to make you understand the problem. Please take him.

He understands the material very well, which I can't say about all my professors. He will really try to help you if you are confused, and is able to point out where you made a mistake and what you can do to fix it. The only thing I would like more of is more time to work on a problem individually before going through it as a class.

I just completed my sophomore year at the University of Maryland in the Aerospace Engineering program. I took Diff Eq with Chris Jones over the summer for the credit and he has managed to surpass every UMD professor I have had. He's funny, charismatic, kind, and extremely passionate about teaching.
