He's awful. Tip: Memorize 2 quotes and 10 dates/events from all the readings and you'll get an A. Make sure you write your midterms on the readings and not lectures. I got A's on the midterms and papers but the guy lost my final!! I think he failed it even though I emailed it with a turn it in receipt (final grade b-). He's not fair at all.

alright class,3 take home essays & thats what your grade is based on. just go to class & he gives you all the notes for the essays.also you have to use the text books for the essay, which isnt so bad cuz the essay questions come from the book.kind of jumps around when he talks,so pay attention & write everything he says, its worth it for the essays

Not a very good teacher, only because he was not very clear on what he expected on the papers written. Not a hard class if you know what he expects and your writing is spotless! Focus on grammar and clarity and you will be fine. He was not interesting and strict on his paper grading.

Good teacher... jumps around in lecture, but just go with it. Class is easy and he can be fun. His does get pissed off if talking, but come on its not high school any more! Offered extra credit towards end of semester more than twice.

Impossible to understand his grading. I got A's the entire semester and wound up with a B. His lectures are dull and repetitive. Not a very original thinker or interesting person. His assignments are so vanilla they end up seeming like busy work not thoughtful college level assignments. All social sci majors I have met agree that he is a poor prof.

Very displeasing. Very unclear on what he expects & very disorganized. Forgot come to class twice and was late, even to office hours; and then he was mean to me when I asked for an appt w/ him since I assumed he wasnt having office hours b/c he was so late once! Im a very levelheaded student when it comes to rating so trust me when I say avoid him!

BY FAR...THE WORST PROFESSOR EVER!!! He is god awful!! I have never been so frustrated with a professor in my life. Didn't learn anything from him except for where his office was cause I was continuously arguing with him or trying to understand what it was he either wanted for a paper or what he was talking about. Class was only based on 3 papers.

Terrible professor. If you do not like history, you will hate it. Boring class!! Did not learn anything! Not organized and lazy. Takes attendance everyday. Class only based on a take home mid term, final, and one paper. Shows many boring films since he knows more about European history than US history.

Completely discourged by this prof! He was very disorganized and not helpful at all. He would say something one day and go back on it another. I'm not even sure he knows what he wants from his students. Worst class i've taken in my three years. Unfair! If you want to learn something and enjoy a class, this is not it!

TERRIBLE!!! Worst professor BY FAR I've taken in 4 years. He's evil. We had email fights. LONG email fights! He even used God's name in vain to me-SO tempted to report him to the department. He is all over the place in class. Talks about 10 things in 50 minutes. I learned NOTHING!

I thought that his class was extremely easy, the tests were take home essays that he went over in class. He has a very dry sense of humor and I thought that he was pretty funny. Too many people take him the wrong way.

Very unorganized. Lectures were very hard to follow. I loved American History before this class and he made me hate it. If you listen by hearing things once and thats it, then this class is for you, however if you require more in depth things and a teacher who is willing to help you and not make you feel dumb for asking questions then do not take!

Gave the exact midterm questions before exams. Forgot most everything. Technologically challenged. A visit during office hours can easily increase an undesired grade. Brownie points determine scrutiny during grading... avoid if you cant put up with occasional frustration

He is a wonderful professor. I had him for both the history of the holocaust and modern european history. He is always available for office hours and extra help and if you engage in his class you will do well... and his accent is Welsh... and not difficult to understand at all.
