DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF!!! HES SO UNCLEAR ON WHAT TO STUDY. HALF THE LECTURES ARE ABOUT HIM TALKING ABOUT HIMSELF. CLASSES ARE SO UNORGANIZED AND BARELY HELPFUL. YOU WILL BE CONFUSED IN HIS CLASS. HE TELLS US NOT TO MEMORIZE THE TEXTBOOK FOR QUIZZES ONLY LECTURE NOTES THEN PUTS TEXTBOOK QUESTIONS IN THE QUIZ. DONT TAKE HIM!!!!
Really just not a teacher you want to take. Extremely unapproachable. Class is confusing and you won't know what will be on the quizzes. Loves to talk about his life experiences that are barely relevant to the material. The group presentation had confusing guidelines and he just told us how bad it was while we were presenting. Def avoid Chris King.
MOST unorganized goofy teacher in all of my existence. Everything he says relates to nothing in the class and it's easier to sit next to your grandpa and listen to old Vietnam war flashbacks than be in Kings class. Being in his class is a cruel and unusual punishment and should be considered a new form of torture to try and guess what King wants
Honestly I can see where the bad ratings are from but this guy is a chiller. He gives out text book readings but the readings are really on the quiz (I've never read the textbook). The lectures are very interesting and there is a lot of story telling. if you take good notes in class and study them its easy to get a b+.
DO NOT take this professor, he does not teach anything, rather he babbles on about stories that relate to nothing in the class. His stories can get a bit racey and are borderline questionable at times. Presentations are outside of class, he takes points of for smiling, fidgeting, not wearing a suit etc.
Do not take this professor, he is by far the worst at this school. His test is confusing and has nothing to do with in class discussions. the concepts he teaches don't matter as long as you look over the vocab. His grading on papers and group projects will kill your GPA. If you have this teacher run to your computer and drop the class.
Not sure if this class is better w another teacher but w Chris King it is a complete waste of time and money. Learned very little. He hates being challenged and if you give an opposing opinion he makes it known in front of everyone that he's right and you're wrong. Not flexible. Has made at least a few very uncomfortable jokes about POC.
He is not for the weak of heart, be ready to face reality. He knows a lot about the topic and provides awesome stories from his real life experiences. I enjoy listening to him speak and am never bored in class.
Do NOT take professor King. He is unorganized and all over the place. His lectures consist of him just talking about his life stories. Bro apparently been everywhere around the world and has a long story for every topic. THOUGH HIS STORIES HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT GOING TO BE ON THE EXAMS. He's a good guy bad prof.
King's class is very story heavy, they're supposed to have a connection to OB, but most times I can't find it. In terms of quizzes what to study is very vague. He also claims to hate technology but only tells random people to close their laptops and ignores others. Overall he is a good guy, he just needs to rework his curriculum
I felt like the 2.1 rating was too low. Def not a 5 but I feel bad.
Always talks about his life stories and totally unrelated to any materials. Also, he will randomly pick someone in the class to answer some ridiculous questions. 4 quizzes over the entire semester that matter a lot, but it is extremely hard to get a good grade. It will hurt your GPA so much. Never have clear instructions for assignments. WORST
Professor King is a good guy, but he is just really unorganized as a teacher. He tells stories the entire class that don't relate to what is going to be on the quiz. It's hard to do well on the quiz because we aren't really sure what it's on. He doesn't answer emails and is hard to reach outside of class.
Great person and if you have a brain you'll do fine in the class. Genuinely cares about the class
Shouldn't be this low, great person and gives good feedback
The 1 reviews are lazy students who don't read the textbook or take notes in class. He really isn't that bad and he is a nice guy
He has been known to write his own reviews and whoever gives him a 5 is capping out of their ass. I have two 2 stars and they would be a 5 compared to this guy he has no clue what he is talking about and calls himself the real life Indian Jones. You will learn nothing and test are decently hard. Do not take him.
Guy below me has no idea what he's talking about and is a brick. King's a goat and don't disrespect his fire stories
king gives no homework if thats what you were wondering. to pass this class is lowkey a no brainer. 1 quiz every 2-4 weeks, n theyre only about 20 multiple choice questions each quiz. if you have common sense, youd pass this class no problem with at leats a B. you dont have to participate or talk. he brought his dog dexter in. dexter is so cute
no hw, about like 5 quizzes a semester, midterm is so easy, youd bang it out in an hour or two, projects he curves hard, easy A
king is cool and you dont have to do a lot in and for his class. theres no homework other than reading, but you honestly dont really have to read. youd only read if you wanna get a better grade on the quiz which is all multiple choice. unless you have no common sense, you would pass his class with no problems
He has funny stories and class is not that difficult. Don't really have to read just make a quizlet on book terms and will do fine on his quizzes. Group presentation is graded very easily and papers are not that difficult and should be graded pretty easily.
Professor King is not the best teacher in the world. His lectures do not help you prepare for the quizzes, and he does assign a few long papers. With that being said his lectures are good stories and he does know what he is talking about even if it does not appear on the quizzes. He is hilarious and has a good sense of humor.
Prof. King simply does not teach. You sit there and watch a presentation and then get quizzed every other week on paper so you cant cheat so you have no option but to fail his course unless you really put a lot of effort into it. He talks in circles so it takes forever to get to the point and usually there is no point. Don't take him!
King is fascinating - the class is listening to his stories. Quizzes are easy and he curves when scores are low. King is adaptable and even let us pick the deadline for homework assignments. He tells us what we will or will not be tested on and is a fair grader. However, he is disorganized, takes ages to grade, and gives little feedback on hw.
I strongly disliked this professor, he didn't explain ANYTHING and the only thing he did in class was talk about himself. You would think the quizzes would be about his life since thats all he talked about, but no, they were about the textbook he didn't even mentioned in class. Don't take him if you want to learn about organizational behavior.
Chris King is a very nice professor who wants to help his students, but i just don't think he knows how. I think I higher than a B+ and I don't even know what I didn't do well in cause he never posted any of the grades. Oh and he doesn't respond to emails like at all. I would not recommend.
Professor King is a great guy and gives solid feedback, but his lectures have one major flaw: 80% of class time is consumed by stories that only improve clarity 30% of the time, so much so that one would think the class should be renamed to MG116: Life Stories with Chris King: An Organizational Behavior Perspective.
he has a bad reputation, but you get what you put in, participation, homework. He's not a bad person, just awful at teaching
Professor King received some mixed reviews. After being told to not take his class, I was worried. However, I was mistaken. He is a great professor who is a genuinely nice person and cares a lot about his students. He has many funny/interesting stories and goes way out of his way to make sure students succeed. He really is a great professor!
He is nice and funny in his own way but gets distracted telling stories that don't really relate to the coursework. Doesn't allow technology and you need to participate to get a good grade. The quizzes are easy if you study, the papers are long but not hard, but the group presentation is very stressful and you need to connect it to course material.
Overall this class is easy but chaotic at the same time. King has great stories but often takes too long to get to the point during lectures. Gives minimal guidance for papers, he basically just tells you what to write about and that's it. Was easy compared to what other Human dynamics classes have to do but is definitely confusing at some points
Just don't do it. It's not a difficult class, but it's just extremely boring. It's ok if you have to, but any other option is better.
Chris King teaches organizational behavior but bro needs to get his own behavior together before teaching anymore. He is a good person, has good stories, and he's a nice funny dude but don't let that cover up for how bad the class is. His class is dysfunctional and he doesn't actually teach anything yet you will still get quizzes almost every class
Just don't take him... He is all over the place and will exhaust you with his life stories. He gives a quiz every class and no, it's not on his life stories.
King is a hard grader and a large majority of said grade is based on a very challenging group project throughout the course. But in between all this, his experiences and overall message of the course is a good one. If you try to seek out the valuable points to take away from the course, you will find some as he does have an impressive expertise.
Inspirational GOAT. Do not disrespect my GOATTT
Chris King has been all over the world and has done great things, but he is not a good professor. He rarely speaks about the material we are supposed to learn about and loves to talk about himself and his stories. I had to teach myself the material in this class and he is poor with grading assignments and using Brightspace. Avoid this professor.
DO NOT TAKE! Does not teach, tells his life stories instead. He is very unorganized. Tough grader and grades do not reflect the work you do. Does not grade assignments until very end of semester.
The worst professor ever!! You will rely on your textbook to teach you. He paces the front of the class and tells stories about his life that make no sense and seem fake. Not only does he not teach, but he doesn't know what he is supposed to be teaching. If you need help, don't ask. He will tell you to check the packet that he didn't even create.
King is genuinely a good man but lacks the ability to teach the concepts from the book. All topics discussed in the book are reciprocated through personal memoirs which are quite interesting. Project is demanding, and papers are graded harshly, but King is the man. If you put in the effort and follow the guidelines on the rubric, you'll get an A.
Do not take this class under Professor King. Class attendance is mandatory with a quiz every single class based on readings, with lectures that often turn into loosely assembled rambling sessions. Professor King often goes on tangents that are barely related to course material and are only minorly interesting.
Good Professor, but lots of work and quizzes. Interesting lectures, and if you put in the effort, you are basically guaranteed a good grade.
People are just Yapping. He is not a bad professor. His stories are interesting most of the time, and if you put in the work you will get a B+ no problem
Horrible at communicating when assignments are due and will promise a quiz on a Wednesday but makes it a pop quiz on a Monday. he is the reason i submitted transfer papers to other schools
Quizzes on every reading chapter but you have open internet. Lectures are extremely boring and repetitive and main grade is based on a group project. Does not post reminders for deadlines and will call people out for not submitting their work. Homework grades are 3 attempts, but they average out and it's very difficult to get an A on homework.
Had a quiz every class. The professor does not lecture about the material but more about his life. I would have enjoyed this course if he actually lectured on it.
Absolutely terrible. Assigns work with hidden criteria. Have a quiz every class that does not relate whatsoever to the reading and if you go for help, all he will say is study more. Do not take worst professor at Bentley.
He is a very nice and caring guy, and he is very knowledgeable about the subject. You can tell he knows a lot in the area and has a lot of years of experience. I get that people do not like him since he can be a tough grader and his teaching method is basically telling stories all semester long. Hws are quite hard and quizzes as well.
Only homework was the Cengage textbook quizzes. We had an online quiz often which you can cheat on and get good grades. The class is only interesting stories about his life. Two 3-4 page papers the entire semester. All the grades in my class for the group final project were above 90 except one. Class was so easy and he was so so sweet and funny.
Great person but bad professor. Rarely ever talks about the content on the textbook, even though he quizzes us almost every class on readings that he does not go over. Quiz was online and almost everyone cheated. Fair grader on group deliverables. Not accessible through email and takes a long time to grade (2 months for one paper). DON'T take him.
Don't be like me and overlook the bad reviews because there were good ones. BELIEVE THE BAD REVIEWS.
Lots of boring lectures where he just talks about his life. Brutal to have as a bomb. Quizzes were online. Homework and readings were long and sometimes difficult. Graded the presentations and some of the project work fairly easily. Nice guy, though.
King is friendly but doesn't help much with success in his class. Homework and quizzes are online and follow the textbook, making reading essential. Lectures don't cover book material, so you must handle that yourself. Additionally, there are two papers and a year-long group project, but he grades fairly. Grades are entered VERY slowly.
Very tedious grader and is not understanding at all.
Professor King is a nice person, but a BAD professor. Reading and quizzes due every class that are filled with material he never touches on. He doesn't lecture, but rather tells crazy, seemingly made-up stories about his life. We have a midterm coming up that is based on the textbook that he never refers to. Get ready to teach yourself!!
Professor King is a nice guy who genuinely cares about his students but assigns ALOT of work. Weekly textbook readings, 2 reflection papers, a BIG group project with many components worth 10% of your grade, midterm and final exam. Strict written submission policy as well. Professor King's class is my hardest this semester. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!
0.5/5. This is not the prof to take for this class.
Lectures a lot but has some interesting stories that relate to the class. Not a bad option for human dynamics
he is very boringggggggggggggggggggggg
just dont, trust me. r u n
He thinks that his class is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Super long lectures that never get to the point.
This professor is likely the worst I have taken thus far and i have taken many classes with bad professors. He waits until the last day to grade all assignments so you never know your grade. Furthermore lectures are boring and he genuinely doesnt want you to succeed. You will also have a midterm and final exam which isnt normal for this course.
He is not a great guy lectures are boring and he gives you exams and midterms that he doesnt prepare you for. His lectures dont have anything to do with the textbook material and grades everything on the last day.
Lectures his boring stories that have very little connection to the textbook. Barely teaches the textbook even though all the exams are heavy on that material. Rarely answers emails, does not grade anything until the last couple weeks of the semester. Lack of care for students. just don't. just don't do it to yourself.
power trips because he is ex-military, wants people to think he's an important powerful person. work that is way above the class level such as exams and a 5-page final paper which neither of them he prepares you for. knows MG116 is easy but he refuses to let students off easy and makes the class so much harder than it needs to be for his own vanity
wasn't a mean professor but like other reviews say, he was very talkative about things not related to class. we only had three assignments that were actually graded besides the weekly cengage assessments (not bad but long). For a morning bomb, it was hell but otherwise he wouldn't be the worst if you're someone who prefers teaching yourself lol
There are multiple issues with his class, this course is supposed to be easy yet he believes that it should be the hardest thing in the world, his grading is terrible as you only get them on the last week of classes, he abuses his power as a professor
Nice guy but makes a required course difficult with a crazy workload. It is hard to study for exams because he doesn't relate lectures to homework. Expect a final exam, a team project, and a paper all due within the same 2 weeks. He takes the final presentation seriously, stopping people and asking questions to mess them up. Take someone else.
He's nice at first but tries to make lectures interesting by making up stories. The coursework is easy but he's a difficult grader, he also assigns a final project, paper, AND test. Also, if you want to know your grade before the class ends you are out of luck, he never grades anything until the end of the semester.
You might notice that it is 5 days until the semester ends and my grade says Not Sure Yet, this is because he leaves grading for the last few days so you will not know your grades until the last day. Furthermore you will have the final project and paper along with an actual Exam and Midterm. Yes a full Midterm and Exam on the exam date.DONT TAKE
Not a good professor bad grading, exams are on paper and doesn't lecture the topics for the exam you have to learn it on your own time
Nice guy, awful professor. No clear grading guidelines, talked about stories the entire class that had nothing to do with the material that we had a midterm and final on. For a class that you have to take, do yourself a favor and find somebody else. Nobody had any idea what their grade looked like until the last day of the semester.
Chris King is a cool guy, but not a great professor. In this class you have to complete a semester long group project. There are multiple deliverables and the idea is that as you move through the deliverables he's supposed to grade them before the next one in order to provide guidance along way. He didn't grade until the last week of the semester.
VERY tough grader. Thinks we should be experts on the content even though he doesn't teach any of the textbook. His advice on exams is “read the textbook and write down all the important things” which consists of 8-9 chapters each. Takes it way too seriously and is very critical on the main group project. I cried so much bc of this class. DONT.
Absolutely awful professor, I hate this guy so much. He destroyed my life and my grade. I feel so miserable. Telling the stories about his self in the class that talk about nothing and rarely connecting to our textbook materials. The professor doesn't give any specific instruction about the test. I hope you have early retirement. let us survive.
Never teaches class concepts, just rambles. interesting guy, but all the work must be done outside. Sometimes even suprises you on the test with concepts never heard of in class before! Dont take this class, i took harder higher level classes and this thing brought down my Gpa.
I ignored the ratings. Do not, I REPEAT, DO NOT, IGNORE THE BAD RATINGS
The reason for the bad rating is because it was a bad class. Mr. Yapper, group project that has UNCLEAR grading. he goes on his heroic stories and only covers a sliver of the actual material, you have homework multiple times a week and I think big bro has to stop teaching it. JUST DONT DO IT TO YOURSELF OR YOUR GPA
I decided to ignore the ratings and take his class, do not make this mistake. The tests are on things in the textbook that he NEVER mentioned ONCE in class. Pay over $100 for a textbook that he does not use in class, it is only for homework. He is an extremely tough and knit-picky grader. And honestly kind of rude. Lectures are boring & irrelevant.
DO NOT TAKE HIM SAVE YOURSELF PLEASE. I thought that I could get somewhat get around all of these bad reviews but it was genuinely the worst class ive taken in my life. He's so rude, doesn't care about his students and never leaves any type of instructions for any assignment. He doesn't care about anyone but himself..
He was really nice and wanted to hear everyone's thoughts. Class discussions were fun and he keeps everyone engaged. However, he is a tough grader but I didn't get many assignments where he had to grade (the hw was online so he didn't grade it himself)
I dont know why I ignored all the ratings... PLEASE DONT IGNORE THE RATINGS THIS MAN IS A NIGHTMARE. Only gave him a 2 because he gave us lectures most of the time in class instead of busy work. OTHER THAN THAT RUN HES SUCHHH A TOUGH GRADER AND SO NIT PICKY.
all semester we got consistently delayed feedback and grades on our work. For the class, we had to do a group assignment, HOWEVER, there was a mid-term, 2 Papers, Final test, in addition to the final presentation. I am really upset and thinks in unfair that I went from an A all semester to an A- when all of us got delayed feedback. L class
Lecture, Lecture, Lecture. Get ready to listen and sit in class and do nothing. I did not learn a single thing. Big group project success is determined by your group members showing up or not. Professor takes a long time to grade and grades harshly. Good Luck.
Chris King is one of those professors that you will appreciate if you actually put in the work. A large portion of your grade is based on group work. He is nit picky with grading, but everything he expects is writen clearly in the instructions for each assignment. My biggest reccomendation is to go to his office hours!
So much hate for a great professor. Entertaining lectures full of stories about his super cool life. The group project was fun, just follow the exact directions and show that you put in clear thought, and you will get good grades. If you are a remotely strong student and have the time to put any effort into the class, you will get an A.
