hes obviously knows what hes talking about when it comes to anatomy, and especially physiology, but he expects too much from his students, and explains way too little. all of class time is spent with him either reading from his notes, or going off on a tangent about something completely unrelated.
leblanc seems like a pretty good teacher, yes he does go off into these wild tangents, but they make the course interesting. if you are unsure of something, he helps you by giving you silly scenarios to think of. and you know hes having a good day when you can see his marlboro lights in his pocket!!
****, makes you waste money by taking the class. Then as soon as everyone drops (he tells you that only 4 students will be left by the drop date) he says "you can gamble with your grade and stay in here" he doesnt curve, doesnt help. Total ****.
I think Leblanc is a really good teacher. Hes a cutie too haha. i would recommend people taking his class if they really want to learn!
He is a really good teacher, and knows his tuff. After you take his class- so will you. anatomy is a difficult subject to learn- no one ever said that it was going to be easy. Mr. Leblanc will take the time out to help you learn-he even helps students that are not in his class.
he knows his stuff, ill give him that. but when it comes to tests, he doesnt prepare u. i learned a lot, but none of it was on the test and i studied my butt off. im an A student, and i had to drop his class because i was getting a D. he's completely ignorant when it comes to teaching the subject. and he aint cute and his lisp is annoying.

He is honestly a good teacher. Yes he has some goofy stories but they make the class interesting. If the class seems tough, ask for help and he will answer any questions you have, stay after to help you, etc. You will have to study, there is no way around that. It is A&P after all! But I feel I will be prepared when I leave this class.
dropped the class.
This professor rocks! And he's totally hot -- in a nerdy kind of way!
he is CooLLLLLLL I saw him in my dream one day.that cool hehehe ery anyway.. he is not that easy however he is very helpful , gives u take home test... u ll pas his class if u do all the extra stuff he gives
dr. leblanc is a good professor.he is thorough and knowledgeable about his subject.
I had Dr. LeBlanc for AP II lab. The class is straight forward...you need to study and know your anatomy. If you put the extra time in at the study lab, you will do great. As far as the multiple choice physiology tests, you need to read the handouts & study the text book. He is very fair and will review any questions you have at any time.
This is the hardest teacher i ever had. I would not recommend this teacher to my worst enemy.
HE SUCKS!! Worst teacher EVER!! 1st day of class he tells you that you will most likely fail the first 2 test! Average fir the first 2 test in my class was a 55! Tells random stories about his family. Loves the Physiology side of A&P. Take Dr. Hurrell either on line or in class! He's better! Dr. Leblanc is a nice guy but DOES NOT knowhow to teach!
Teaches anatomy and physiology. Have heard good things about his labs, I had him for lecture.Be prepared! this professor is a tool if you care to utilize him. Read the text and notes he provides before class and come with questions, he is a fountain of information. His tests are detailed, he expects you to actually know the material, don't count on
Dr. Leblanc is a hard teacher - if you are looking for an easy class, this isn't for you. He is so smart and knows so much, he can be hard to follow. THOUROUGHLY study his notes before lectures, though, and you will do just fine - I barely consulted the textbook. A lot of people hated him b/c he's tough, but he loves what he does and it shows!
Anatomy 2 is not an easy subject. You have to study hard to earn a good grades. Dr. Leblanc is very helpful and his examples about his family helps you understand about Anatomy. If you want to be a nurse, take him! He is very friendly and helpful.
I am a straight "A" student who struggled in his class. He really knows his stuff but does not teach the material. Instead, he uses class time to tell irrelevant stories. He likes the sink or swim approach. If you can self learn, great. If not, too bad.
Dr. LeBlanc is into details and application of concepts. He is very familiar with anatomy and physiology topics. I think he is among the smartest teachers Ive ever had. He teaches by using analogies with things of everyday life. Study his notes and the book and you will do fine. Slack off, well you know what happens!
he is hard but he really prepares you for whats ahead! I took him for a 3 week intersession course and he really did all he could to make sure everyone understood all the material. I would take him again.
just because he's a phd doesn't mean any of the students need to be and he seems to forget that.
Its Dr LeBlanc, not Lablanc. That others have not processed that after 3 months of class might tell you something about their capabilities. The simple truth is that about half of my classmates do not have the academic skills needed to survive a clinical program. Dr Leblanc prepares you. Skip him if you want an easy A so you can fail clinicals
These comments are funny. Im guessing the straight A student only makes A's when the teacher teaches the test and student is not required to apply the material. LeBLanc is a good teacher, and ver nice. If you cant handle him, you cant handle college level science.
I liked him a lot. He is the best and smartest teacher I have had at Delgado.
Don't take this teacher
Dr. LeBlanc is very tuff at first and you will get overwhelmed but in the long run he can be very helpful if you just ask for his help. Charity told me that how Dr. Leblanc teaches is how they teach at Charity...so if you want a good practice for Charity to see if you can handle it i would recommened taking Dr. Leblanc
Dr. LeBlanc is a good teacher, you will do well if you show up and pay atention. He is always willing to stay late or come on a day off if a student needs help.
Very tough teacher, but very helpful. I hated him at first, but I gave him a chance, and I'm glad I did. I am ahead of most of my classmates at Charity because of what Dr. LeBlanc taught me.
Great teacher. Not a pushover at all, but you will learn and he is always willing to help. You have to study far in advance to pass. Highly recommended
Dr. LeBlanc is always trying to help his students but the truth is a lot of them seem to care less and then complain about him. If you are trying to get into a clinical program this is the class and professor to take. It can be taxing at first because of his ADD and the way he teaches but he is one of the most interesting people in the world.
Very knowledgeable and helpful.
Great teacher. The content of the class is just tough but he is always willing to explain it again or stay late to help you.
This is the first class I've ever had to drop. Let's face it. The man is highly intelligent. I can listen to him rant all day and never get bored. He's mesmerizing and it doesn't hurt that he's absolutely adorable. However, that being said, he simply cannot teach. He even knows he's not a good teacher. It's a shame, because I respect and adore him.
Had him for A&P II lab. Another teacher with a superiority complex and huge ego, but knows his stuff. A bit outrageous at times and threatens failing everyone, but A&P is a "weed out" class anyway. Mixed opinion.
Dr. Leblanc is a great teacher. He knows his subject matter very well.I took A&P 1&2.He focuses heavily on the physiology aspect which is ideal for future studies. He is also quite humurous which helps ease the load throughout the semester. Most importantly,he is a caring person who will help you in your hour of need if you confide in him.Good man!!
Dr. LeBlanc is the absolute best, ESPECIALLY if you plan to enter a clinical program. Lots of people think he's hard, but his approach is that if you are going into clinical programs (which many DCC students are) you should be prepared. He is unfailingly honest and candid. I cannot say enough good things about my time in his class. Highly recommend
Know the material before you go to class. He focuses on the intricacies & expects you to know the anatomy & some of the physiology. He WILL help you, but you have to track him down. I do recommend him though - he does prepare you for clinical programs. He will scare you by saying how hard his tests are, but don't worry, they aren't that bad!
Be prepared - read the text, read his notes, do research, & come to class with some knowledge in your head. Class time is spent learning to apply & use that knowledge; please don't expect him to have to teach you the basics too. You need to be motivated. Dr.L will make it come alive for you & make you feel confident in what you have learned.
Teacher is very passionate about the subject, but I feel that he could have been more specific about was going to be on tests. He's okay but can definitely be your worst nightmare.
I took him for A&P2 lab. I'm an A student, and I had a hard time following him. I eventually had to tune out most of what he said in lecture and just study the manual. He's just so smart, I guess it's hard for him to put things into layman's terms. He does try to help his students, especially if you're serious about passing the class. Nice guy.
Wow is all I can say. Brilliant, nutty, a cute nerd and positively the most caring teacher I've ever met. Be prepared to work and ASK for help. He WILL help. He hugs nice too, and was so sweet when Mom died. He diagnosed her before her docs. First time dropper below must be an idiot. Easy DCC teachers leave some DCC students delusional. Took AP 1&2
The Best A&P Professor ever! His style of teaching is like no other. He is very helpful and always there when you need him. Do not worry about his first test, just keep going and you will be glad at the end!!!
Absolutely one of my best teachers!! Hard, but helpful, interesting, and interactive!!
The Word around Campus was to Stay Far Away from this Professor, but I wanted to see for myself how much of this was true. He continually goes off Topic a "Lot" and it makes it hard to focus. Word of wisdom to the wise, this Professor cares more about his syllabus than he does for his students,so you are pretty much on your own as far as learning.
Dr. LeBlanc is the most inspiring person I have met. He is the BEST A & P teacher and can give you great ways to remember the physiology with his stories. If you are afraid of work, avoid him. If you are not, then hold on for a fun ride. I had him for A&P 1&2 lecture and lab.
This Professor is not a good teacher, he continually goes off topic which makes it harder for students to focus,He does not provide anything to help motivate or any incentive to get better grades. Bottom Line you are pretty much on your own as far as learning anything from him.
The comments here are quite hysterical and misleading, to tell you quite honestly this professor is not what some people say he is. What he is genuinely "not" from my own personal experience, is that he does not even try to help students succeed in this course and does go off topic, just ask around campus about him, he has an interesting reputation
Probably the single worst teacher I've ever had. Can tell he really knows his stuff and is a nice, cool guy but constantly goes off topic. Won't teach you much about the subject so you're on your own.
I had Dr. Chris for A&P 1&2 lecture and lab. This guy is smart, motivating, fair and sensitive to students. I wish all my teachers were like him. He can be a bit nutty, but I enjoy that. Be prepared to work, and listen when he says 89% of students do not pass all 4 courses. That may explain why some people do not like him- they can't pass a&P.
Loved him. Very good teacher
Great teacher !!!!Expects alot!!! In turn you learn a lot.Very fair but you have to earn your grade.
Awesome, fun and most entertaining for a very dry subject. I learned more from this clas and teacher than I have from my other classes combined.
Great teacher who is passionate about his subject, his student's success and all things science. I wish I could take hime again, but I already had him for AP1 & 2 lecture and lab and that is all he teachers :(
Greatest teacher I've ever had but also the hardest class I've ever had and I'm going on my 4th year of college. He helps students as much as he can during office hours. If you want to learn a lot so the information sticks with you while you are in Nursing or Allied Health programs take him but if you want an easy A don't sign up for this class.
He is a good guy BUT i would never ever take his class again. He goes off subject ALOT its like he rambles from one subject to the next so its hard to keep up with him.If you decide to listen to these other fools and take him prepare to live in the science annex, i certainly did.
Tests are departmenal. living in tha annex resource lab is a must for me and most students. your grade is what u got, rite? loved him and his style, but u gotta work or u get c's or less. stupids blame the teacher for what their manual said is on the test.
Still taking his class. So far I have a good grade BUT I have to toot my own horn and say I AM TEACHING MYSELF. He's constantly off topic, does not explain ANYTHING, jumps around the lab book constantly so you can't even follow along when he does decide to actually talk about it. Sad part is he's super funny but not a good teacher!
If you want to learn about how to body actually functions and critically think about how subtle changes affect each body system take this class if you want an easy A and arent someone who catches on quick take someone else becauee this guy is very challenging but knowledge will be your reward on the down side he does go off topic often
I'm confused about all the other comments about him being helpful. I only had him for lab, but without youtube videos online I probably would have failed the class. You can tell he is very intelligent and knows the material but as far as teaching goes, you basically have to teach yourself. I learned more from the tutoring center than him.
Dr. LeBlanc is an amazing teacher. He is compassionate about his students and I really enjoyed his class. He has taught me to be a independent studier, which is something I lacked. If I had to take another anatomy & physiology class I would sign up for him NO DOUBT! he makes class interesting and he genuinely made me feel like I mattered.
Dr. Leblanc is not for the faint of heart. If you are not capable of learning information without someone spoon feeding it to you don't take him. However,he does relate the material to real life events which is a positive even if he does go way off topic. The best thing about Leblanc is that he treats his students with respect. He's not condescending
He is super hard!!! I manage to pass his class but will never ever take him again... I did learn how to be a self-learner in his class. He is so hard to understand. He teaches the class as if the class already knows the material. Thank God I passed now I can move on
As long as you study the lab manual you will do fine, everything on the tests is in the lab manual which he told us the first day, for lecture I think he uses the text a lot more but for lab the manual is all you need to study. Also all the department tests are the same so it's not like with him you are going to get a harder test.
Dr. LeBlanc was a nice person however an awful instructor. You will have to self teach this course. He does very little in class instructing.
Awesome, nice and a nutty, funny professor. Dr. Leblanc is not easy, but a good indicator of what to expect in you clinical clases. I am a returning MPH, and his style is very typical of my previous professors. That means is you expect him to teach the test, you are out of luck. Listen, note the topics he covers in class and you can get an A.
Dr Leblanc is challenging and I am glad I took his class because of this reason Life is challenging and therefore being equipped with both book smarts and street smarts are essential Dr Leblanc prepares you for the real world He empowers his students to assimilate what they learn.I would want my medical professional to be the best
awesom teacher. very caring and understanding. knows his topic inside and out and can make the hard stuff understandable.
Good: He is smart, funny, and passionate about science. He is respectful and wants students to do well.offers bonus for each test. BAD:His lectures are unfocused and hard to follow. He goes off topic, jumps around, talks a lot but doesn't explain much. Focus on studying the lab manual and prepare to live in the tutor lab.
Fun teacher! The material is very difficult because you do have to learn the anatomy on your own and all of the teachers teach the same way. But, read the lab book and listen to his lectures for the bonus questions. Take him if you have a good sense of humor, don't get offended easily, and want a less stressful day. He stays late to help everyone.
He's The Best Teacher On Campus! This Guy is a Wiz. I appreciate his immense amount of knowledge. His Test Are Hard. Even If you study for weeks ahead of time. However, he's not the hardest grader. He likes committed students. He does go off subject a lot but get over it. This is college, no one is gonna hold your hand. You must be self motivated.
I think Dr. LeBlanc is smart and can explain things well, if you can get him "tied down," and not rambling about something else like his kids or coffee. Don't get me wrong, in another environment, we would likely be best buds, however, I think his test leave a bit to be desired in quality. Sorry. Not trying to be ugly, just honest.
Smart, interesting guy. Have hime for AP1 lab and lec this semester. We lost a lot of students in lab with drops, but there did seem to be a lot of unmotivated people spending lab time texting instead of doing the assignments. Lab tests are departmental and hard, but he goes over common mistakes and then lets you do the exercise. His lec tests are hard, but he goes over what it covers. I think many students expect a powerpoint lec that spoon feeds material. I do fine making notes from his notes and the text.
Had Doc for AP 1 and 2 , lecture and lab. Lab- well what you need to know is in the manual. Lecture was more work, but you get chances to pull grades up on every test. Just pay attention, and study what you are told to. Ask if you need help before it is too late. Wish I could take more classes with him, but Ive in nursing school.
Awesome, hard but awesome. Sailed through clinicals this semester because he taught me the important stuff- just listen when he is giving advice. Had Mr. LeBlanc for anatomy and physiology 1 and 2 lecture and lab.
Dr. Leblanc likes to challenge his students and respects those who rise to the challenge. It's by no means an easy A, but few teachers will show his level of genuine care for individual student issues. He has an open door policy that not enough people use and suffer because of it. If you seek help he will do everything short of handing you a grade.
Awesome teacher, hard, fair and awesome. Very motivated, funny and knows his stuff. Take his advice, do the bonuses and it will be ok, he just likes stressing you a bit in the beginning.
DO NOT take if you are NOT nursing major. If you ARE he is your guy. You will be SO prepared for the clinicalnursingdoctor world. His notes are long, he rambles on about life, and gets off track but it helps you remember. Not nursing? This class will keep you from getting into your program. I was HEIT & he said he didn't know why I needed A&P!
So bad, I dropped his class. I asked for help as to how I should go about his class based on his teaching methods; as I do with most classes I get nervous for. He continued to change the subject and wouldn't give any advice. Throughout the semester, he would lose track of the topic every class and wouldn't give info for the upcoming tests.
Doc is funny, observant, and super smart. He knows a little about everything and a lot about others. Unfortunately I just felt lost in his class. He never stayed on topic and tough to understand. I never knew what we were doing in class. He never spoke much of the tests either.
Awesome teacher- took for 251-254.
He is a funny guy and a pretty hard teacher. If you go to his office and review old tests you are more appreciated as a student and more likely to pass the final. Do your wiley plus. Easy points. First tests was the hardest because his questions make you think. You have to be able to apply the information not just know the definition. Good Luck!!
Don't get me wrong, this was one of my favorite classes to attend. His stories are funny (he might be a bit sociopathic). However, I didn't learn a thing and got a D. He is too intelligent for the community college world and does not have the "patience" to simplify and go over the material with students.
Great teacher had him for ap 1, lex and lab and ap 2 lec and lab. I would take him again and highly recommend him to those seeking clinical degrees. He teaches like my clinical teacher did for med lab tech. Headed for nursing school thanks to him.
I took Dr LeBlanc for anatomy and physiology one lecture, and also for anatomy and physiology two lab. He is straightforward. The info for lecture is in the notes he provides. Labs are the same, with departmental tests. These classes are just hard for some, so do the bonuses he offers and things usually work out well.
Loved him. Have him for 251 and 253. He is very passionate about a and p. And the cricket experiments were cool.
Had him last semester and I can tell you he is the worst teacher in Delgado. He just sits there and teaches you nothing about anatomy only his life story. I am not paying you to lecture me about your life. Also his test are beyond hard. If you are in school for allied health or nursing do not take him!
Do not know how anyone can call him too hard- I have not made less than 104% on an exam. Its all in the notes and book- just listen to what he points out in class. Do the bonuses. Very smart teacher who is very interesting as well.
Amazing lecturer. You will do fine by making notes from his notes and the book is you listen to what he covers. Do the extra credits. Tests will be challenging, and don't expect PowerPoint style classes. Very willing to stay late and help if asked.
I took Dr. LeBlanc for A&P I & II lecture and lab. A lot of people don't like him because he is tough, he doesn't give you power points or hold your hand to get through the class - but that's college. He prepares you for what it will be like in your programs. The tests are hard but he focuses on what you will really need to use in your program.
This guy here is the worst teacher to take at Delgado. He talks bad about every other teacher & brags about how great he is.(not) if you have a 78 or 68 has your final grade dont even meet wit this jerk bc you are going to waste your time. He doesn't help out any1. You can make an A on your final exam and He won't care. Talks to much n not teach.
Mr. Leblanc is a GREAT teacher. Although he does talk about stuff that has nothing to do with class a lot, he is still a really good teacher who wants everyone to pass. And i DISAGREE with one of the other comments. If you put in your hard work and need 1 point and he knows you worked your butt off, he will help you out. I've personally seen this.
Good, helpful teacher. Suspect the complaint below is from a guy asking doc to curve his final exam 16 points when I took a makeup in his office. He didnt grasp that its unfair to just make up points. Kept yelling "but its just 2 points", n doc kept saying "its 2 percent of 800 points". Maybe if that dude got fractions, he'd have passed.
He is a nice man and I'm sure he means well, but I could of not attended a class and still have gotten the same grade. His technic is to talk about everyday life to get you to make associations with the lecture, but there is so little lecture in class to refer to. I felt like I had to teach myself with videos and reading the book... That's his job
Hard! I used the lab and still didn't get a C ended up with a D because I never knew what was on the test he is all over the place .DO NOT TAKE . I used rate my professor to take him and big mistake . Forewarning
Doc is a great prof. Started with AP 1 and am now finishing up with him for AP2 lec and lab. His tests seem hard at first, but if you listen in class he ALWAYS tells you how to work through the harder stuff. Use the notes and text to highlight as he lectures. DO THE BONUSES.
DON'T TAKE HIM! When looking at slides he just googles and expects you to know what it is. He doesn't go over models with you, and you never know what is on the tests. he tells stories all the time, that have NOTHING to do with the material that's going to be on the test. there is no reviews for his test, so your always lost.
Had Dr L for the whole a&p sequence (2 lec & 2 lab). He is straight forward if you are an average science major. Lectures are fun. He always covers hardest topics that are on exams-listen for his buzz words. Lab's are harder. It is a lie to say exams are a surprise because the manual lists all anatomy that could be on the tests. Do the bonuses.
Doc is one of the best teachers I have ever had. I found his AP 1 lecture and lab easy. Some have to work a lot harder for it tho.
Dr. Leblanc is a wonderful person. I am just used to teachers who give powerpoints and study guides to help guide me through everything. He is just bascially a here the info and you find out what to do with it. I honestly forgot about wiley so my grade really sucks now. Have to retake in the summer so hopefully the next teacher is easier!
Dr. Leblanc is tough, no doubt about it. You have work if you want to pass his class. Study every chance you can, use the science lab, and find a study partner. He is beyond helpful, all you have to do is take the time to go see him during office hours! Honestly took so much from his class. He is worth the work.
Dr. LeBlanc prepares you for nursing school in clinical detail. On many occasions, the content learned in Dr. LeBlanc's lectures and test content helped carry me in the corequisite lab class. To be successful you need to read the chapters, never skip a bonus question or concept, ask questions and use his office hours.
Had him for a&p 1 and 2. He jumps around every chapter; may start at the beginning but then skips to the end and/or back to the middle and the beginning, so expect to learn a lot on your own. Talks super fast and doesn't repeat unless you ask. At least 5 bonus questions on every test. Tests are very wordy.
One of the best teachers I've had, and I'm a high school teacher.
Students either love him or hate him. He's an odd guy for sure, but he is there for you if you are struggling. The things I enjoyed were his stories that relate to the material and the chats we had. He's actually really interesting. The bad...I always felt like he tried to make things more difficult than they should be. Advice: DO BONUSES!!
I would not take him again. Nice guy, but he is not very clear on whats will b on the test. He can also be all over the place when teaching, jumps from lecturing to telling a story then back to lecturing. . He is lenient when it comes to family matters and missing class but know everything because you will be tested on things not mentioned.
Dr. Leblanc is outstanding. Yes AP 2 is hard, yes you have to study a TON. But, if you do the extra credit questions on the tests, and study from his notes AND read the book, youll be fine. I recommend him to everyone I know that is about to take AP 2.
He's a great teacher.. he cares about what he's teaching you.. plus he's very approachable! He's willing to help you understand, you just have to ask!!
Going to lecture was like pulling teeth. He often goes off topic and seems to jump around from the lab manual. It's hard to follow along with him. I learned mostly by myself in the tutor lab. There are chances for extra credit.
He does not teach. He excepts you, the student, READ and LEARN on your own. Unless you enjoy reading, you may be fine with he. I will never take him again because I need my professors lectured.
He's a little quirky but brilliant. The class itself is very difficult but he is approachable and understanding, you just have to reach out. I think he truly lives and breathes science. He can be tangential in his lectures but really does try to make the subject at hand relatable. If you're not afraid of hard work, you'll get a lot from his class.
My opinion of him flipped by the end of the semester. I was trying to get out of his class the first two weeks. By the end of the semester, he became one of my favorite teachers I have ever had to date. He has a lot of quirks, but give him a chance. It is a hard subject to begin with, but he knows what he is talking about. He is open-minded & fair.
Like many, I was skeptical of Dr. Leblanc at the start of the semester, but as time passed, I found that he is very caring, quirky, inspirational, and actually cares about his students. He has a great passion for A&P, and is getting his students ready for what lies ahead nursing school and other allied health fields. Take him, you won't regret it!
Dr Leblanc wasnt by any means easy, but hes a very lienent grader. I found his test to be very vocabulary heavy. He doesnt give a good direction for studying unless he gives a cram sheet, which wasnt every test. His passion for biology and being reachable to figure out how to succeed is why I would take him again. Go to his office when needed
This guy is brilliant he pushes you to a higher level than it is normally expected at the institution in which he teaches hands-down one of the smartest people Ive met in my life anyone serious about a career in the medical field you only hurt yourself by not taking someone like Dr Leblanc
