Kind of a crazy guy...he's cool though. He always seems to make sure no one is in the dark on anything. Clear class outline. Recommended.
Too strict with on-line classes. Around the mid-point for good students.
Second best professor in Marketing but needs to pay more attention to students.
Why does it take so long for him to respond ot e-mails?
Needs to speak clearer. He is not a very good speaker, therefore not a good teacher. Should go back to the Airforce!!
Worst prof I have had.. means well but Im wasting my money in his course. It is the absolute most boring class.. unclear, hard to understand, rambles, never completes a thought.
good class, pretty easy to follow if you take the quizzes. but he requires way to much work if you are a full-time student with other big classes. unclear about big project information and how to do it and what to do with it.
Very good personality. The objectives for the class are moving targets.
Why doesn't he return to the Air Force. Yes, his personality is good but he doesn't seem to like teaching.
I assume that he does like SOMETHING about his job since he certainly doesn't seem to like teaching. Random thoughts thrown together doesn't make for a good lecture. Ahmed has better lectures and is in the office 5 days a week.
I don't know what to say about his class. He has a great personality, dresses sharply, and takes classes seriously but does ha care about teaching?
HE RAMBLES and sometimes tends to make rude comments, otherwise im not really sure why he is there. He is busy with meetings and is always unable to answer any questions and forget emailing him i don't understand why he tells you to.
although he rumbles alot he is a very helpful teacher and he will help you with not only class projects but other things going on around like resumes and jobsearching.
He is a very nice man who will scarfice for his students.
He sure must like research and be good at it as he isn't good at teaching. He also never seems to respond to e-mails.
He RARELY answers e-mails and doesn't seem to care about students. He seems to treat being a professsor as a part time job.
He doesn't respond to students e-mail and doesn't seem to really like teaching.
He really don't know what he really trying to present. He's a funny guy, but that's not we want. We are coming for knowledge, not a joker. It's better for you to study by yourself rather than attending his class. Learn nothing!!!
Why doesn't he prepare for class or respond to e-mail messages?
Needs to stay on topic and respond to e-mail better. He is a very nice person but not a good professor.
Does he consider this a part time job?
He is a flashy dresser but don't even waste your time e-mailing him.
I wouldn't take him again. He DOES dress well and has a GREAT personality but there is more to teaching than that - especially for graduate classes.
Class was terrible. The workload for a summer is unbelievable-it would be too much for an entire 4 month semester, let alone a summer session! He doesn't provide feedback or teach the material for that matter.Must be nice to get paid fulltime & work halftime
Do not take Myers. He does not interact with students and will not answer questions. Then he grades tough and refuses to give feedback that so you understand why he grades low. He gives way too much work and grades unfair. He is pretty much incompentent.
Myers is an unfair grader. If you do all the work, you don't get full credit. When asked questions about grading, he refuses to give an answer. Too picky w/no explaination as to what he wants-then he takes off. His grading is ridiculous. DONT TAKE HIM!!!!
Awful class. Subject not bad, but Myers makes it terrible. Does not care enough to respond to any email. Dont think he at the office very much. His class is waste of time and money. do not take!
Dr. Myers is extremely professional and knowledgeable. I recommend this class to anyone that wants an easy A! Plus he's a sharp dresser and easy on the eyes.
Dr. Myers is projects are extremely fun but hardwork. It's an easy A or B.
He is one of the worst professors I met in my life. He is such a liar and unfair grader. He changes his mind all the time and always forgets his promises. If you still like marketing, don't take his class.
He is the worst teacher does not respond to Emails notorious double talker vague in giving instructions very strict in grading Very confrontational when it comes to questioning his decisions no matter how ponderous they seem. He thinks students incapable of performing task without dictatorship.
awful
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. He is a very strict grader and cannot justify his grading scales. We did all of his corrections and he still scored us low. He would not tell us why. I think my dog could better teach this class.
By being at Texas A&M Commerce, he is safely kept away from the ability to do real harm to other College's students, considering his vast amount of ignorance. He is absolutely the worse professor in the A&M college system, if not the world. He lacks the knowledge/dedication it takes to teach.

Heavy course load and help is often vague or cryptic. Sometimes it takes quite a few follow ups to figure out what is what so make a point of keeping track of what you're expecting from Myers, as he gets burdened and can fall behind/forget. However, he genuinely cares about the students and makes extra efforts to make it possible for an A.
I was very interested in Marketing before taking his class but afterwards I don't think that it is worth a grain of salt. Why does Commerce keep him when he certainly does NOT care about teaching?
Contrary to the rest of the ratings, I have not had a more helpful professor in the business school. He knows his material and communicates it clearly.

This guy is horrible! TAMU should cancel him. He does not respond to students and treats us like we don't matter. He messed up the online class and blamed tech support. He'll throw you off in your other classes because you have to spend so much time fighting him every step of the wayand doing his job. Avoid him. Demand someone else.
Myers should be dropped from payroll at TAMUC. How can a person spend all semester creating a great project to get a horrible grade that drops them down a letter grade. Especially when you made mid ninties on all test? Crappy teacher avoid if possible. If you had to take him like me, sorry for a wasted class where you didnt learn a thing.
Absolutely, without question, the worst online instructor I've ever encountered. He's ambiguous, uninvolved, and uninteresting. He's more concerned about how long a homework assignment response is than the quality of the work. His idea of an online lecture is uploading the PowerPoint presentation that the textbook publisher provides. TERRIBLE!
(Spring 2007) He is absolutely the worst! I have a career that spans over 10 years of marketing and he was absolutely CLUELESS! He is a retired pilot in the airforce, has a PhD in Marketing, yet no real world marketing experience. I'm convinced he has dirt on the Dean of Marketing, because when several students and I complained, he did NOTHING!
Unfortunately all the angry comments are true. You WILL waste your money and will learn nothing about MKT. If MKT is not your major and you know nothing about it, Myers will only confuse you more. If MKT is your world, he will make it so dry and boring you will want to pull your hair out. How can a MKT instructor not be creative?! Avoid if possible
He has NO IDEA of MKT. He will change his mind more often than you change your underware. Never finishes his thought, has no experience in MKT what so ever. Your ideas are not good enough for him. But when you ask him for reasoning, he does not give it to you. Why? Because he does not know it himself. Should no teach MKT at all.
He is not polite or helpful in any way. Homework assignments were graded in a very strict manner with no feedback on how to improve grades. Do all extra credit and do NOT be brief in your responses; he does not appreciate brevity. He does not seem knowledgeable on the subject. By far, this was the worst class I have taken at TAMUC.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF!! He is by far the most useless "professor" I have EVER encountered. He doesn't know how to teach...I'm pretty sure he didn't even know the material that we were supposed to learn. He is difficult to understand and has a very hard time answering any question. This is not a mandatory course, so don't take it.
This is the worst professor I have ever had. He does not teach at all and is really useless. I did not learn anything about marketing in this class. The standard of his teaching is worse that a 4-5th tier community college. He does not deserve to be a professor within the A&M system. It is really a surprise that the college is still keeping hi
AVOID IF POSSIBLE! He does not teach anything. Your better off just reading the textbook. Useless group projects which do not make sense nor does he have any basis on the projects. Plenty of miscomunication. Total waste of time and money. This is definitly one of the worst professors I have had. Can not believe he has been at TAMUC for this long.
I agree with the previous posts. I am currently in his class and he is really useless. I am waisting my time and money here absolutely learning nothing. He does not teach nor does he give any concrete explanations. Your answers never seem good enough for him and when you ask him for his response he never gives you one.
He has NO IDEA of MKT At All... no experience in MKT what so ever. Your ideas never good enough but when you ask him for reasoning, he cann't mention it to you. Because he doesn't have any knowledge in his brain.
He does know marketing but he is a very bad teacher , he does not make sense sometimes and if you argue with him you are going to realize that he is not smart at all and that you are wasting your time. If you want to learn stay away.
Avoid this guy !!!
I hope you read this before signing up with this teacher. By far the worst professor ever. Unfair in assessments, chat requirements, group project and overall teaching attempt. This professor may ruin your career and desire to continue your education. TX A&M get rid of this guy!!
Don?t Do It. I recently had Dr. Myers for and it was a complete nightmare. He has no idea what he?s talking about and the syllabus contradicts what he says to do in class. There is no point asking questions for clarification that will simply not happen. For one unclear project you will spend hundreds of hours, frustrated and ready to quit school. D
Hold on to your seat...many times late and very unclear as to his instructions. You are required to attend his online lectures, yet he may not show for 15-20 minutes into his own lecture. His response times run minimal a week plus. I would not recommend taking his class unless your ready for the mayhem.
This is by far the best professor I have had at A&M. I am currently in his 501 class and had reservations based on earlier reviews, but find I love the class and the professor is very knowledgable and accessible. If follow the directions and think about the issues at hand you will do fine. Think outside the box!
Rude. Difficult to understand. Weak on detail and subject matter. Very poor instructor.
He gives 3 page min. for case studies, which you must know is impossible to go into detail when you have only 3 pages to work with. He counts off BIG points for not going in "depth" when he only gives you 3 pages to work with. I have had several classes with this man and would NEVER reccommend him to ANYONE. Terrible grader-terrible communicator!
I would not recommend taking this professor. I do not feel as though I learned anything, and spend several hours just trying to understand his instructions. When I asked multiple times for clarity, his responses generally stated that he explained it already. I barely got a B in the class. Its not a hard class, just avoid this professor.
It was VERY confusing. I did however feel I learned something during the course. It's a master's level course online so if you can't handle teaching yourself some of the material, then you shouldn't take this class.
I am really confused as to what everyone else is saying Dr. Myers was very clear with expectations and followed the syllabus. Of course you have to write its a graduate course people, but it is nothing unbearable. I would definitely take him again. Easy A with a little bit of effort.
In MKT 501 we had to do 4 discussions (one for each week) and take 4 tests (one for each week). We had to do a group paper which I had to spend too much time on because I did not know what to do till last week. Only during last week lecture he walked us through the syllabus and made clear what is expected. This was suppose to be done during week 1.
Too tough on reviewing papers or discussion questions in which he does not even know what he is talking about. Lacks communicating his thoughts effectively. Skip this teacher if at all possible.
Here is my two cents. Overall tests are easy, and discussion posts are easy. Final paper will kill your grade. Each week he discusses the project, however the final week he begins to discuss more. Guidelines are APA but difficult when doing a market analysis. Cite a source in each section, and ask lots of questions. Just be careful. Goodluck
This professor is a nightmare and his class is a waste of time and money. By far the worst professor I've had at TAMUC. You write a great post, he says it wasn't what he was looking for and gives you a 20100 on it. Really!? Ask for clarification and you'll get "I've already explained it." Horrible, avoid like the plague...
I had this professor for MKT571:B2B Marketing and MKT572:Seminar in Marketing Research. I don't get why he is rated so low here. I learned a lot. His lectures are very helpful. You'll have 4 or 5 DBs during a Spring or Fall term, a group project, and a couple of exams. Use his companion book, attend lectures, stop whining, do the work, get an A.
I was very disappointed in this professor's inability to provide clarity for any of our assignments. His feedback for our paper was generic and completely nonspecific. He waits until the last week to clearly explain the paper after you've written it. His emails are run-on sentences. The material is interesting, but his teaching abilities are poor.
I took the online MKT 501 online course. He meets online by voice chat 1 x per week. His communication style and heavy accent make it very, very difficult to understand. Confusing! He does not teach the course, prepare to fully teach yourself 110% of this course. Avoid his course at all cost. He's not a teacher.
He knows the subject, certainly the material in the class. I found his live chats entertaining, because of the way he speaks. He is nice enough, but can sometimes be difficult. He wanted the group project (paper) to have specific ingredients and flow, but refused to even show us a sample until two days before it was due. We were done by then.
Knowledgeable and nice guy but bad communication skills. Gave an outline but only commented on 1/2 of it lol. By the way I expect an A in this class. The guy is in general a horrible communicator. Emailed him 2 times with same question and no real answer. And his grading scheme seems stupid.. like... u didnt bold the term -4... welcome to 1st grade
The quiz/exams are as expected; he does want terms to be bolded, etc; follow the guide, you'll be fine. My issues are 1) paper rubric is very general, but grading is ridiculously specific. I HIGHLY rec submitting a draft early in the week before so there's time to edit; 2) he is very condescending when answering ?s, which i find unprofessional.
He knows the material, but really cannot teach it very well. I have written and graded hundreds of papers and my first rough draft was graded as barely passing. Whatever. Exams and quizzes are strait forward, although don't deviate from the quiz format. For the love of God, BOLD AND UNDERLINE!!!! He is very dogmatic about the meaningless.
This course is absolutely horrible. The professor is not at all clear about what he wants. He gives rubrics but will change them often. He seems to be too busy and unresponsive most of the time. The rubrics ask for one thing and he grades according to something unknown. I would recommend taking another professor. He is not a teacher at all.:(
Course USeeU online chat was not functionable. Course began days late. Syllabus was vague. T.A. stated on 1st case analysis, Professor does not have paper format preference, other than "Q&A" style. This was modified including "APA" style after first case analysis taken. Professor appears to have his own way of grading, making it hard to gauge cours
He's the department head and WAY over committed. You can either get a 100 for attending the lectures or write 300 -600 words about the lecture. He seemed unprepared for the lecture. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK! You can google it and find the PDF. The book I bought didn't even come with the PDF. Ask him why you got the grade you got and he might bump you up
He is very rude. If you email him and ask questions, he doesn't respond half of the time and when he does he makes you feel stupid for asking. He complicates everything. And doesn't explain why he gives you the grades he does. One of the worst professors I have ever had.
I don't get all the negative comments. Dr. Myers was very helpful every time I emailed him with questions. His lectures are short and you should read the textbook. He's very clear about what he expects and gives you a lot of opportunities to do well with bonus assignments. Honestly, I learned a lot during this class. He's a fair professor!
Not bad. He can get a bit confusing and will give you random assignments not stated in the syllabus. Overall easy class if you read. Quiz each week, 4 small papers. Can be a tough grader because his rubrics are not consistent. Might be an Easy A in one assignment but impossible to pass on the next, so be aware of that. However he is very flexible.
Horrible, horrible professor. I had him for multiple classes throughout my graduate experience and he is definitely one of the worst instructors I've ever had. His expectations for grading are unclear, his assignments are foolish, he makes you come to class then rambles about stuff that's not going to help you, and he's very slow to respond/grade.
He seems nice. I am constantly confused by his grading rubric and unclear instructions for writing assignments. He is disorganized during class and can't seem to communicate his knowledge appropriately. His reflection assignment has good intentions but ends up being tedious and not useful. The book runs this course, Dr. Myers doesn't add much value
His lectures for online are mandatory (horrible) and are very long and monotone. You don't really learn anything and he doesn't show how to solve the problems, basically have to learn on your own and the book is not very helpful in my experience. He did one tutorial that was just an extra lecture didn't even show how to do anything.
He doesn't give clear instructions, he's difficult to understand, and he lacks communication skills. I pride myself in being very organized, Type A and paying attention to details. I made As in all of my classes in my Masters, but this professor was a complete disaster and other students in my class would agree.
Teaching style and communication style very hard to follow. Work load was OK. This was an online class but required you to participate in a zoom meeting every two weeks, or watch the zoom meeting recording and provide a 400+ slide review. This course did not feel to be a MBA level course. Significant time spent on entry level marketing materials.
Teacher has good intentions, but he seems to be better at doing the work than teaching it. At times it was very confusing to follow his zooms, so be ready learn on your own & watch videos and read the book. Very flexible on assignments due dates if the class is overwhelmed, but if you are just putting some effort in, you will be fine.
He doesn't know how to use D2L, we had to resubmit discussion posts to get credit. He doesn't how to use the McGraw-Hill software, the textbook fee is included in the tuition, and I had to buy the book anyways $160. His assignment instructions are vague and difficult to understand, his email responses are patronizing. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Do not take this professor. I read the reviews and thought, "Oh, it can't be that bad, really," and I was wrong. Refuses to explain assignments, provides 0 examples of the work product he wants, grades arbitrarily and then copies and pastes feedback so students with radically different assignments get the same grade and feedback. Do not take.
Funny. Every Zoom meeting has "technical difficulties" or group projects that aren't graded. Joining Zoom meetings is mandatory, and if you can't make it, you have to write a huge essay, basically. He also had us download unsafe proctoring software even though it doesn't work. So even though he says quizzes are proctored, they aren't.
